Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce had a lovely mini-break in Como, Italy last week

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour – now updated with songs from The Tortured Poets Department – is in full swing in Europe right now. She schedules her European dates like she scheduled the rest of the tour though, usually with back-to-back concerts over the weekend, then the week off. So, after Taylor’s Paris shows and before her Stockholm show, Taylor and Travis Kelce traveled to Como, Italy, one of the playgrounds for the rich. Taylor and Travis ended up having a very romantic little mini-break:

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made sweet memories in Europe! A source shared details with PEOPLE about the couple’s intimate getaway in Lake Como, Italy, during Swift’s short break between Eras Tour shows. From late-night strolls, to a day touring Lake Como on a boat, the power couple made the most of their “four relaxing days of rest” this week.

“On the first night, they went for a long walk around the lake late at night [between 11 and midnight],” the source said about Swift and Kelce, both 34. “It was very romantic. At times they would walk hand in hand. They would also exchange a kiss every so often.”

The vacation began just a day after Swift’s fourth and final Eras Tour show in Paris, France, on Sunday, May 12, which Kelce attended along with Swift’s mother Andrea and their friends Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper.

On the last day of the trip, Friday, May 17, the couple toured Lake Como on a boat, an experience the “Fortnight” singer wanted to remember forever.

“[Swift] got on the boat along the side and then went right away to the front and started taking photos of him,” the insider revealed. “It was clear that she was trying to capture the moment for posterity, and the cute thing was that she didn’t use a phone but a little Olympus camera.”

After a nearly two-hour boat ride near the village of Bellagio in the rain, the couple reportedly docked the boat and shared a meal at Locanda La Tirlindana, a restaurant in front of Comacina Island. The restaurant serves local cuisine like fresh pastas and artisan desserts.

“They were very affectionate with each other, always close and hugging,” the source told PEOPLE about the couple’s final day in Italy.

“She didn’t use a phone but a little Olympus camera.” Wow, that source sounds like they were there. I would love it if Taylor brought back real photography and all of the Swifties started buying actual cameras too. I’m sure they enjoyed their minibreak – Travis flew back to Kansas City soon after to host his annual “Kelce Jam” thing.

Oh, and Entertainment Tonight had an interesting story about how Gigi Hadid and Taylor Swift are especially close these days because they’re both so in love with their men (Bradley Cooper and Trav, respectively). A source told ET: “Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later. They make a great match and there’s no question about that.” I mean, months ago, sources said that Travis and Taylor would announce their engagement this summer. Will it actually happen? I don’t know. We’ll see. The fact that she’s singing all of these songs about Matt Healy at every concert makes me wonder.

    Taylor is a diaristic songwriter – all of the songs on her setlist are about her life, in one way or another. Throughout the Lover set, she sings about Joe Alwyn. Throughout Red, Jake Gyllenhaal. Etc etc.

    In fact, it’s more interesting that she added So High School – her song about Travis into her new Tortured Poets Department set than anything else.

    ET is reliable with Taylor news and Tree Paine has been known to use them for exclusives. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them engaged soon-ish. Taylor is clear about what she wants and Travis seems more than willing to give it to her.

    The Swiftie stuff that comes up on my Instagram says ET is her official mouth piece. Hopefully they’re already engaged and are just prepping the fans, otherwise that’s a lot of public pressure to hit a milestone.

    I do like them, I don’t know how they have the energy (especially him) to be flying everywhere and doing everything. He filmed a game show, a part in a tv show, hosted a music festival and went to Europe and back plus recorded the podcast stuff, all in the past few weeks. He seems to be a true extrovert. The fact that he didn’t drop everything to follow her around, but did work to go see her and her shows also shows good balance. I mean I’m impressed he can keep going to the same concert and keep publicly enjoying it so much, I would be all backstage after the first one under the microscope.

    Did the Matt Healy relationship really impact her or is she so hurt by the Joe break up that she wants to hurt him by hardly mentioning him!? Essentially acting like the 6 years were meh.

      Well, she’s been very honest about what this is and that it was a kind of break thing, but I think it’s very clear that she got out of a six year long relationship that she thought was the one and they weren’t right for each other and then this guy that they kinda always flirted showed up told her he was always in love with her and she jumped into it and he was the polar opposite of the last guy and it was a disaster because he’s a disaster and it wasn’t real, but it sort of solidified that she was always going to be alone, you know the typical thing that happens to most women when they end a long term relationship in their 20s that they think is the marriage relationship. They end up with the mess jump off that wrecks them. It’s not unique.

        Thank you and Nubia for being voices of reasons here. No offense Kaiser, I’m not saying that you’re unreasonable, but I just think that some of the narratives about Taylor supposedly having lasting strong feelings for Healy are really off the mark, if you listen to and read what Taylor *actually* wrote about the relationship (not just in the songs but in the epilogue, she describes love bombing, a manic phase, various other terrible things). It’s confusing that some people have the misconception that she still wants him, but I think it’s unfortunately due to a few tweets/Reddit posts that went viral. People love a conspiracy theory and drama.

        That said, I find it interesting that Taylor’s camp put out separate articles post-release talking about how her and Joe try to be respectful of each other, and Travis is 100% supportive of her album, and nothing about Healy. I can’t tell if it’s because there really is nothing remotely positive to say, or if it has to do with Healy threatening Taylor on stage a few days after the announcement of the album (that ‘you know who you are, don’t f with me, I have receipts’ crap). The way that she sings about Healy on TSMWEL makes me feel like he did something absolutely horrendous to her, beyond the manipulation. The way that she sings about drugs, I wonder if he tried to pressure her or even tricked her (and I don’t mean pot, no one cares about that). Anyway, I’ve just spent entirely too much time theorizing about this but I feel like there is something *bad* that happened there and she’s probably trying to protect her image as much as her mental health by keeping mum.

    I have against my will become a swiftie and have embraced. I can’t always choose who you love.

    With that being said I’ll just give info one thing in the article about Taylor bringing back photography. She has used that camera for years. She had a preferred filter and fans recognize when it’s a photo taken by Taylor even if it shows up on someone else’s insta.

    My own theory on TPPD: a generally good relationship that burns out doesn’t make for passionate songwriting but the love bombing over the top whirlwind clusterf*ck gives you a lot of material. They were apparently flirtatious over a 10 year period. I imagine he loved having her in his back pocket and jumped in at her low moment. I think she’d pretty much given up when in waltzing All American golden retriever my mom makes cookies before my games Travis.

    Anyway as a new Swiftie I really respect her writing amd her ability to take her life and market certain parts of it.

      Definitely agree re: your TTPD theory. She also (maybe unknowingly at the time) spent 2/3 albums writing about the slow demise of her 6 year relationship so it’s already out there and she’s already written about it.

    There isn’t anything to read into her performing songs from her new album on her worldwide tour. She made it very clear in her summation of the album where she stands with those two men – they’re in her past.

    I think Taylor and Travis are already engaged and this is a soft launch of sorts. Knowing her history with stories involving engagement/marriage, both in general and this relationship specifically (6 months ago her team was quick to deny engagement rumors from less than reputable sources), it speaks volumes that a) it was through ET (Tree’s go to for Taylor and Travis stories) and b) there’s been zero stories disputing it. My guess is they’ll officially announce they’re engaged within the next 4-8 weeks.

    I think they’ve been verbally engaged for a while and I think it’s healthy to disappear for a while and release a photo story afterward, like we’ve seen with the Bahamas or Italy. People in KC said Travis & Taylor had both sets of parents over for dinner a couple of days before Paris, that sounded engage-y since none of them live nearby.

    Travis was on his pod last week with an unusual backdrop and would only say he was in Europe somewhere, even to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell who had dropped in on Jason’s side. His sponsored energy drink wasn’t available so he was sipping from a teacup.

    1. She was gaga for that scab, racist Healy. What she wrote in her liner notes (post being ghosted and picking up with Kelce) is to save face a hundred times over… Travis knows and this is pr, or poor boy is dopier than he looks—could go either way. He’s got the “nice guy” vibes of other classic monkey branching she has done.

    2. Are we pretending that Bradley C is not a horrible, narcissistic pile of crap? If he and Gigi were my double date buddies, I’d struggle to feel good about that. And Gigi has a hx of dating narcissists… I hope she’s okay.

    3. Forecasting crumbling friendships …. I think big unravelings are on the horizon. But as another poster mentioned elsewhere, TS has no reason to change or hide who she is… with that much money, and a rabid fan base (not all fans, obviously) she will die wealthy and content as she lived in the spotlight till the bulbs burned out.

    All the Gaylors and weirdos with a parasocial love-hate relationship with her are saying she’s just about to dump him, and it’s some staged long-con for her to triumphantly emerge from the closet or to set up a narrative that he asked and she wasn’t ready, so she can peace out of the stunt with the dumb football dude she hates and move onto the next fauxmance with someone more suitable.

    But I cannot imagine ET running this and potentially burning a bridge with her team without having at least checked with her/his teams so it seems they’re ok with this being out there. And after an album about dudes who didn’t marry her, is she likely to be in her second?-longest adult relationship without at least an engagement ring to show for it? But hey, it’s Taylor’s story, we’re all just watching.

    I mean – the Lake Como stuff was definitely very PR-ey with all those shots but they both have a lot of reasons to want to be in the news at the moment with album sales, music festivals etc and celebs do leverage their real relationships too, so… I guess we’ll see if she’s in the stands with something sparkly come September. I remember reading something like it’s an unwritten rule for NFL players to do big life stuff in the off-season.
