It occurred to me a few days ago that we’re getting closer to the Invictus Games in Whistler and Vancouver. Canada is hosting the first “winter games” in Invictus’s history and they’re going down next February, from Feb. 6-17. This is why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Canada earlier this year – they were doing the “one year to go” events and showcasing the new adaptive sports being introduced at the Whistler games. Well, we’re now five months away! And Invictus dropped a new promo, which is basically encouraging people to buy tickets. Harry made an appearance!
He looked great here. Did they film this back in February? The background suggests that they did. Now, did the Invictus Games make a funny choice by dropping this commercial when they did? I think it was about the dates – as I said, five months to go as of today. But they also dropped this ad on Prince William’s first day of work in months. William and his struggle-stubble were in London yesterday at an event, and then Invictus dropped this video several hours later. Coincidence?? The Daily Express was on it with this headline: “Prince Harry slammed by critics for video release on day Prince William returns to work.” The “critics” quoted in the piece are from Deranger Twitter accounts. So… while I doubt Invictus consciously did the shady thing, it’s hilarious that it worked out that way. If Harry and Meghan are going to do anything, it’s steal some royal thunder without even trying.

Who’s crying, I’m not crying. And now I’m laughing at the idea that IG would wait around for William to do some work before releasing an ad for ticket sales. At William’s rate of work, tickets would never get sold.

The games will have had a content/PR plan in place for MONTHS – they are following THEIR schedule not bum fluff Heuvo’s.

Exactly. I do PR on a much, much smaller scale, and even our little content has deadlines and timelines set far in advance.
This was just a happy coincidence.
If Prince William would normalize working on a regular basis, attending a gallery exhibit would not require all this fanfare like it was the first day of kindergarten. A promo video for an upcoming event on another continent wouldn’t be considered taking attention from old fuzz face or headline worthy. Anyway was a good video and Harry looks great. IG is sticking to their timetable, not William’s sporadic appearances.
The headline should have read “Prince William Tries To Distract Attention From Prince Harry’s Inspirational Invictus Video By Making Rare Appearance At His Job But His Attempt Falls Flat On His Unshaven Face.”
If TOB didn’t disappear for long stretches and then try to make such a big deal of his “return” to work, he wouldn’t get overshadowed in this way. Pretty simple!
The only people who mention Harry overshadowing his brother are the usual Delulus, the trash papers and the KP fans on Socials.
Too funny that the Derangers are screaming at Invictus for publishing a video instead of ignoring the Sussexes who they hate so much — while promoting any tiny bit the Prince of Ales attempts to do in order to call it work. That guy was outside for the first time in months, other than going to football matches. That should have merited live reporting by the deranged ones. They seem to care more about making the Duke of Success trend than supporting the bearded 🥚.

Let me get this straight. Harry and Meghan can’t work when William is on vacation, but they also can’t work on any of William’s rare “work” days?

You know when you are so busy with work and family obligations and doing for others that you don’t have time to think of anything else and you know, you are busy? Yeah, not William. Get busy, bitch, and you won’t have time to be doing this shite. Concentrate on growing that beard.
If they don’t want to have they thunder stolen why are they advertising the only “working” day of the month for William days in advance ? They’re just asking for it (am I victim-blaming ? It feels like it but is William really a victim ?).
I doubt it was planned as media has to be arranged ahead of time, but nice serendipity.
At this point there is news about Meghan’s investments or Harry’s projects almost everyday. Hell this week alone we got an announcement a day of where he will be speaking during climate week in NY. I get Egg barely works so to him every time is an event but to the rest of the world he looks stupid to complain about this. Everywhere in the world multiple people are working at multiple jobs at the same time.
The release date would have been decided months ago. I wonder how much attention the DE gave to William’s ‘work.’ I also wonder if William knew the release date and decided to work on that day to distract from Harry.
To complain about being overshadowed all the time means that you are easily overshadowed.
In this instance, they are shouting at Invictus competitors for overshadowing William. They may appear to be bashing Harry and veterans, but they are reducing William to a pathetic non-entity,
who comes out of hiding once in a while on the same day the rest of the world is just carrying on. Is it not sad that a certain senior working royal making a working appearance is so rare, that they think the whole world needs to take note? Is this person going to be doing anything in Britain during the ES summit in New York, or does he not want to upstage himself?
Why do the BRF believe that the whole world should go on shutdown mode to avoid a scheduling conflict with whatever miniscule event is going on in Willie World.?? This elitist view is reinforced by the “media” in GB as well as the brain washed commentators who are writing the party line for a paycheck.
They did this because they are anticipating high ticket sales. As a Canadian, I can assure you that if there is anything going on between NYE and Roll Up the Rim that isn’t us cursing the snow plough for shoving hard snow back into our driveways after an hour of back breaking shoveling, we are THERE! This is why Carnival and Winterlude and curling. The INVICTUS GAMES are happening while I’m ready to cry because I accidentally snapped off my windshield wiper trying to remove ice? I’m So there!!!! Even if I’m watching it on my couch! This is genius timing. All of Canada will be watching for SURE. And hey, if this ad pisses off the royalists? Bonus! Can’t wait!!!
