If you’re interested, you can watch the exact moment when Michael Strahan kind of falls in love with Angelina Jolie. Strahan interviewed Angelina for Good Morning America, in a piece which aired on Thursday, all part of Angelina’s wall-to-wall promotion for Maria. I’ve said this a million times already, but it’s so exciting, as a Jolie-stan, to watch her make a conscious choice to do a real Oscar campaign. She’s already done dozens of screenings, Q&A sessions and interviews. She’s out there, shaking hands with Oscar voters and being more open than she’s been in years. Anyway, this GMA interview was charming and so was Jolie.
They talked about how Maria Callas was consumed with music and opera, and Jolie was asked if there’s anything in her life which consumes her that way, and she said, for her, it’s motherhood to her six kids: “It’s my happiness. You can take everything else away from me. Nothing else matters.” She was also asked if any of her kids want to be actors, and she said: “None of my children want to be in front of the camera at this time. They’re quite private. Shiloh’s extremely private. They weren’t born with privacy, right? So I hope they can have that as they grow.” I do think the twins definitely want to be out of the spotlight, but I actually think Zahara might be the kid who is somewhat comfortable in front of cameras. I don’t know though!

You are so right he fell in love with her! What a great interview.
Angelina was charming! I was very impressed.
Wow! This was a great interview with Angie & Strachan. Am so so glad I’ll be able to watch it on Netflix…..Dec 11, immediately after Polo!
I will forever remember Zahara as Princess Z. She seems so charming.
I love her! And I want nothing but good things for her. It’s amazing how narratives get locked in place around people based on nothing but our suppositions. I love that people will get to see this side of her during this Oscar campaign.
I came here to say words to much the same effect!
I hate that anyone had to endure the pain she and her family suffered and I completely understand her need to go away and heal. I’m so happy that she’s now in a place where she can step back into the spotlight and remind everyone who she is and why she had such a successful career. People have been talking about her for years and now she can speak for herself again.
Pax seems comfortable in front of camera too but that might be more tied to him wanting to promote his set photos and be supportive to Angie/the rest of the kids. I love she contuines to talk so positively about them since their other parent obsessed with bringing them down.
This is her glow up era. She’s been more open (with reasonable boundaries), and out there than she has been in years. She’s always been gorgeous but now there is a peace about her that’s been missing for years.
Lovely interview.
I find her so engaging, real, funny, interesting, and I’m so glad she did this interview so she can represent herself instead of others (men) saying who she is. She killed it. It’s not everyone who can say they learned to sing opera for a movie. Gutsy.
Anyone else think her and Strahan would make a lovely couple? One that smiled and laughed a lot.
