Us Weekly: Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Rhode Island wedding is set for June?

For months, rumors have been flying about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding plans. When Taylor promoted her Showgirl album last fall, she definitely did NOT give the impression that she had even set a wedding date or begun making any wedding plans. But that was months ago, and maybe that’s why Taylor has been relatively quiet in recent months: she’s planning the wedding? Maybe? Us Weekly says yes. Their sources even have a date and location: June 13th at Taylor’s Rhode Island home.

Taylor & Travis have been lying low in recent months: They’ve also been planning their highly anticipated summer wedding, which sources say is set to take place in Rhode Island on June 13. “They’re both involved and making decisions together,” says one source, noting that the couple have been “focused on actually enjoying the process rather than getting caught up in the pressure” as the big day approaches. “They’re keeping things light.”

Multiple venues: A second source tells Us that the wedding festivities will likely be split between the singer’s $18 million Rhode Island mansion and Ocean House, a five-star seaside resort nearby. “The guest list grew, so the ceremony and private gatherings associated with the wedding [will be split between the venues],” says the second source, who cautions that the singer may still have other places in mind. “Taylor always has a plan B and C for every scenario.” The first source adds that Rhode Island is an ideal spot. “They feel confident hosting it there. The entire area will be very private and guarded.”

The guest list. According to the first source, they’ve invited about 150 people. “It won’t be a huge wedding, but there will be many celebrities.” Swift’s famous friends include Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, the Haim sisters and Zoë Kravitz; Kelce is tight with his longtime teammate Patrick Mahomes, actor Miles Teller and, of course, his big brother, Jason Kelce. “They’ve gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,” says the second source. “As of now, they’ve scaled it down. It’s no longer going to be a massive blowout.” The first source adds that the couple have steered away from mailing hard copy invitations and “aren’t even sure they will.” However, “their closest friends and family know the venue and the date,” adds the source, “even if nothing formal has been sent out.”

Why they chose June 13: Thirteen is Swift’s lucky number, but that’s not the only reason they chose June 13. “The wedding timeline is based on Travis’ offseason rhythm,” says the second source, noting that the pair want to fit in their nuptials and honeymoon before Kelce’s training camp ramps up in late July. (There are reports they plan to hit up the Caribbean; they previously enjoyed a romantic trip to Harbour Island in the Bahamas back in March 2024.)

Wedding gown decisions: As for her wedding gown, the second source tells Us Swift has said yes to a dress, and that it’s in the final stages of tailoring. (The singer frequently wears Oscar de la Renta on red carpets and chose custom designs by Roberto Cavalli and Versace for her Eras Tour.)

No bridesmaids: The first source says Swift won’t have formal bridesmaids but will get ready with her closest girlfriends, who are also planning a bachelorette getaway. “She has already asked her close girlfriends, like Selena and Gigi, to sleep over at her Rhode Island home the night before the wedding,” says the second source.

Their families aren’t super-involved: Their families have been supportive — from a healthy distance. “They’re letting Taylor and Travis do their thing and aren’t getting too involved or giving too many opinions,” the first source says. (When asked for intel on the “I do’s” during a March 25 appearance on the “Conversations With Cam” podcast, Swift’s future sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, kept it vague: “I would love to give you all the details,” she said. “I don’t have them.”) Swift’s mom, Andrea, has been the most hands-on. “Taylor greatly values her opinion, and this process has been [enjoyable] for them to do together.”

[From Us Weekly]

All of this sounds reasonable and believable to me? The only thing I question is that Taylor isn’t going to want 150-plus people at her Rhode Island mansion. It’s a big place, but not that big. It feels more likely that Taylor would want to host the after-party at her place, and maybe the wedding and reception elsewhere? I’m also looking forward to seeing what both Travis and Taylor choose as their wedding looks. Travis will probably go traditional, but I’m worried about Taylor’s taste level when it comes to bridal looks. Anyway, Taylor is a billionaire and she has the resources to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch. I hope it’s actually happening like this.

If I’m a billionaire and a global heat score I’m going to put out misinformation and have a secret wedding somewhere. I would have satellite parties in Nashville, Kansas City, Beverly Hills, Ohio, New York, but the wedding stays under wraps. Remember when Sean Penn married Madonna he was shooting at the helicopters. Good luck kids.

ITA, but it also seems like they plan to have a traditional and classy affair, not five ceremonies on three continents with every social climber on earth in attendance. I love that for them (and for us).

This! Supposedly she is really into numerology so she might want the June 13th wedding date but I hope she and her team are putting out disinformation so she can keep the festivities private and get some peace. Remember Jack Antonoff’s wedding? There was insane commotion and she was just a guest.

I could make all of this stuff up. No source at all. I think Taylor will be a stunning bride because she is so statuesque. I really like her soft brown hair these days. It’s so flattering to her eyes and complexion. I believe it was a little lighter during the Eras tour. Overall, I think Taylor has good fashion sense and will wear a beautiful wedding gown. Will we ever get to see it, though? I hope they release some photos of both of them.

Right?! I have zero inside information and could have written this.

I doubt it will take place on any of their personal properties. I’m thinking super secret destination wedding. Like guests will have a pick up spot and be personally transported. They have all the means in the world they’re not going to do it in one of their homes and as much as they are putting in their input they obviously have an A list wedding planner working on this.

This sounds like fan fict 100%. My best guess is that they will take inspiration from the recent renovated interests in JFK Jr and CBK’s wedding and will be an intimate affair and they might or might not release photos one day. She knows how the press is and that they will focus in every little detail.

I am sure images if not en entire album will be released afterwards, no worries…
I have never much appreciated her taste in clothing and she seems to be dressing shorter and tighter since Travis, so that may be his taste…I think she will wear another bustier type dress. But if she is really doing Rhode Island in June the photographers will just camp out there the entire month…it’s not that big. I don’t know how it can be kept private unless they do a really small ceremony and that’s unlikely..

If they wanted private tehy could have married already and announced it after or not at all, like Zendaya apparently did…but I don’t think her privacy gene is that strong…

It’s going to be “interesting” to see how fuel shortages affect musical festivals and tours.

I thought of it because of the immense amount of equipment Taylor travels with for her shows. So many artists put on an experience – which usually involves a lot of moving parts. Even smaller groups / bands travel a ton. Another industry being hit.

After listening to a podcast where Kylie Kelsey and her college roommates/bridesmaids talked about how things barely came together for her wedding because she and Jason aren’t planners, I lold at the idea of them helping with wedding input.

I can believe the wedding date and location, especially since it would be easier on the folks in their life with kids (vs wrangling kids to Italy or something). The green corset dress she wore to the iheartradio thing is by a brand that also does wedding dresses, I can see her leaning into the fairy princess vibe the brand seems to have. The idea of a scaled down main wedding followed by receptions in different cities would be fun.

Travis nailing the proposal thing with the transformation of his sad yard into a blooming secret garden look will remain an all time OTT proposal. I like them, they’d better not screw it up

    • Normades says:

These people are not like us. They can organize private transportation anywhere in the world plus any kids.
I think they might use Benny and Selena’s wedding planner which in the end no one knew much about (dress, location etc…)

      • Lucy says:

They can organize transportation to anywhere in the world but they can’t alter toddler internal clocks at a whim.

I can’t think of anything more miserable, even if I got there a week early so the little clocks theoretically had time to adjust, than dealing with the shit show of multiple little kids who don’t understand why the sun is doing what it’s doing, and then turning around and doing it again after a long flight home. We just went to Hawaii for a week and I’m still readjusting two weeks later.

Exactly why would they do it there? Very easy to locate them and not enough space to house all the guests. Plus it was the location of the start of her relationship with T hiddels. They are mega rich and can fly people out anywhere. It will be a secret location destination wedding imo.

  7. olliesmom says:

I don’t doubt that it will take place in the month of June. Just what day and year who knows?

  8. Walden says:

I hate myself for wondering if Zoe Kravitz will bring Harry Styles as her plus 1.

I can’t wait for the fashion, good or terrible.

    I need more happy distractions!

  10. Jess says:

Rhode Island resident here: I have no idea if the location, date, etc is correct because people can certainly jsut make stuff up, BUT her home in Watch Hill is certainly large enough to accommodate 150 people, especially outside. It is a true estate. And Ocean House isn’t just “nearby,” it is literally a stone’s throw away and it is a beautiful location that could accommodate any size celebration and offer the guests top notch accommodations for their stay. If you are curious about what a celebrity wedding there could look like, check out photos of Olivia Culpo’s wedding at Ocean House.
