Prince William & Kate ‘cannot forgive’ the Sussexes but they’re focused on themselves

The Wales family traveled up to Balmoral on Thursday, and I’m sure their visit won’t even last a week. They usually time their arrival in Scotland just before a weekend, so they can make an appearance at church on Sunday (and get photographed), then the family will leave soon after. In the Australian media, there’s some talk of last-minute crisis talks between King Charles and Prince William over the Sussex family’s return to the UK. But I’m not sure if I buy that. I think there are crisis talks between William, Kate, their staff and their favored royal reporters.

Interestingly, Hello’s Emily Nash claimed that she’s getting “complete radio silence” from William and Kate’s camp but she “imagines they’re not delighted about this.” She also says she hears that they were informed of the Reverse Sussexit soon after King Charles (on Sunday, allegedly). Again, they can’t have it both ways – either they were blindsided and that’s why they’re so mad, or they’ve known for days and their rage has been simmering amid a late-summer nervous breakdown. Pick one. Speaking of the smoldering rage, the Mirror’s Russell Myers had a big exclusive too (looks like the Kensington Palace WhatsApp isn’t so silent after all).

Prince William is adamant there can be “no way back” for Harry and Meghan to re-join the Royal Family – amid the drama of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s return to the UK. Royal sources have told how the Prince of Wales is “completely united” with the King in not allowing Harry and Meghan to achieve a ‘half in, half out’ role within the monarchy, after spending years railing against the institution.

Friends of the couple have said while they “cannot forgive” the Sussexes for their hurtful accusations against the Firm, they are determined to “look forward to the future”. Charles and William were told at the same time on Sunday of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s plan to permanently relocate to Britain within weeks.

Sources close to the King and the Prince of Wales have confirmed the monarch and his heir are “in complete lockstep” in terms of not allowing Harry and Meghan to have a “half in, half out” role within the royal family.

Despite the “considerable noise” and “suspicions” over the Sussexes’ return, those close to the Prince and Princess of Wales maintain the couple remain focused on their own lives.

One source said: “Obviously the Sussexes’ return will make inevitable headlines for a few days, but it has no bearing on the prince and princess’ life moving forward. If anything, events that have affected them over the past couple of years have made them even more determined to concentrate on what is important to them, their family, their public roles and the ability to provide generational change for good with their public roles, and look forward to the future.”

Another source close to the Waleses said: “What Harry and Meghan choose to do is up to them. As far as William and Catherine are concerned they have left that period of their lives behind many years ago. While they simply can not forgive everything that has been against them and the family, they do not have the time or the energy for any negativity or the drama that the Sussexes surround themselves with. As they have demonstrated with their public roles, everything they are trying to do is about positivity and making the world a better place as far as they can.”

[From The Daily Mirror]

You know the sh-t has well and truly hit the fan when KP starts pushing “William and Charles are in total lockstep” talking points. Please, if nothing else, Charles is enjoying the waves of nervousness and panic coming off his heir and the heir’s bewigleted wife. Charles has been disgusted by their laziness for years now, and Charles knows that nothing lights a fire under them like “competing” with the Sussexes. As for all of this “I’M SO OVER HARRY AND MEGHAN, LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I DON’T THINK ABOUT THEM AT ALL” energy, it’s just sad. It’s always been sad.

If the Waleses are telling the truth they should be thanking the Sussexes for uniting the Waleses and the King at last.

    • beautifully broken says:

They should also be thanking the Sussexes for Harry once again breaking generational trauma and allowing the next generation–his children and the Wales children–to have fulfilling lives as private citizens, working and supporting charities. All the other European royal families do this. It is time for the Windsors to adapt or collapse.

  2. Hypocrisy says:

Willy and Waity are always just focused and worried about themselves and the biggest fear they have is that they will forever be considered boring, bland and lazy with the Sussex’s around..
I truly wish they would focus solely on work and just stop briefing against the Sussex’s because all these rage briefings make them look like horrible people with serious mental health issues. Harry and Meghan are moving someplace in that country not into Willy’s spare room on stolen park land but you would never know that by the number of articles he has rage briefed.

Crisis talks from the Keens! I wonder what they have to contribute other than Scooter being incandescent

    • Lady Esther says:

Fueled by caffeine for days now, it sounds like Sunny Bullets is whipping the Royal Rota into shape in time for the Sunday tabloids:

      1) The Sussexes are broke and on the edge of divorcing!

      2) Meghan (and Harry, but mostly Meghan) is a failure and is dying to come back to the UK / Meghan and Harry love the UK and are so sorry they left / The UK hates Meghan!

      3) The Waleses are lofty and above all of this petty nonsense because Public Duty and Generous Giving And Tiny Little Children That Need 24/7 Minding

      4) Charles is near death / Charles is a loving grandpa and he’s in lockstep with William / something something Inviticus but that’s six months from now so who cares

Since the Rota have nothing to go on, this is what they’ve come up with for now until Sunday or until they start Airport Watch ™ for Harry and Meghan’s arrival next week. Splash front pages with Sussexes and then a tiny photo of the Waleses at Balmoral that features whatever Kate is wearing

      Sooooo predictable…

  4. K8erade says:

Well The Wails sure as hell aren’t focused on doing their jobs or on the British people.

I’d be surprised if anything changes. For all of the crying, screaming and vomiting that comes out on that side, it seems like a full-time job that could be…I don’t know, better spent putting in an appearance or two a day.

  5. India says:

Does Harry even want a relationship with William? I will be extremely disappointed if he does want to reconnect—ESPECIALLY after everything Will did to make Meghan’s life a living hell.

    • Tessa says:

Harry needs to be on guard. Those “surprise raids” by Scooter may yet happen.

    • K8erade says:

That’s what I’m saying. I think that’s part of why Scoots hates Harry so much. Spare is a good excuse now for Willy’s anger but I got the sense before Spare that Harry wanted zero relationship with his brother. I see no evidence that’s changed or that Harry cares too much about patching things up with him.

    • ChillinginDC says:

I won’t be shocked if we get photos of them in a month together.

    • Miranda says:

Maybe he doesn’t, but it also wouldn’t surprise me at all if Harry DID want to reconcile with William. I know he’s said that they were never as close as all the royal commentators tried to insist, but they still shared a unique and often difficult childhood. There have probably been times in Harry’s life when he has wanted to reminisce and say, “wasn’t that crazy/sad/traumatic” to someone else who could understand exactly what he meant, and the only person who fits that bill is his brother. Also, Harry just seems to be a very loving, compassionate, forgiving person in general. BUT…he’s no fool. I don’t think that he’d ever patch things up unless he and especially Meghan received a sincere apology and William demonstrated real introspection and change, maybe got some therapy. Unfortunately, that all seems exceedingly unlikely, so the idea of reconciliation is probably moot.

  6. Alicky says:

“As they have demonstrated with their public roles, everything they are trying to do is about positivity and making the world a better place as far as they can.” Oh PLEASE. At this point, Willnot and Kannot are basically private citizens themselves, doing fuck-all to earn the millions British taxpayers shell out to support them. They’re leeches with titles, nothing more.

    • DK says:

I think this is exactly why W&K/KP at least, are so adamant that the “no half-in/half-out” stipulation must hold for the Sussexes: because the Wales are already operating at half-in/half-out, with their limited actual work (half-in) and their excuse for such limited work being personal needs and interests, like the evergreen school run and family vacations (the half-out part).

If H&M were to work part time for the BRF, their “part time” would quickly eclipse the heir’s workload.

And that, right there, is the only thing about this that comes even close to creating the “crisis for the monarchy” the RR keep forecasting: the only crisis would be how quickly everyone sees that the future emperor has no clothes, so to speak.

  7. Wesley says:

Looks like the Wales are going to be working a lot more during the time the Sussexes are in residence. Interesting that only Russell Myers thinks the move is permanent, the other media report it as a ‘fixed duration’ or some such, and point out that the Montecito home & Portugal holiday home are being retained.

  8. The Duchess says:

A large part of me thinks this won’t be the uniting factor for W&K as it once was. H&M are returning more confident, more self-assured, more united and a lot richer. A stark comparison to when they were last living in the UK. W&K’s marriage thrived on seeing the Sussexes in despair, but a lot has happened since then, and W&K’s perception from both the public and the press is in the gutter. They are viewed as lazy, bland and desperate. H&M, for their faults, have never been accused of that.

    • Nic919 says:

There is also the whole issue of the new facial scar that happened while Harry and Meghan were on another continent.

  9. L says:

So over them and yet Kate can’t stop copying Meghan whenever she gets a chance 🙄

  10. 2131Jan says:

Oh, we are going to get *SO*MANY*ARTICLES* about “royal snubbing”, “slaps in the faces”, “blindsiding”, and “bemoaning” in the next month! And of course, combined with “incandescent rage”, “title snatching”, “When Peg is King….”. Sigh… I have eye fatigue already!

Funnily enough, timing coincides with the royal push to boost numbers between end of September vacations through mid-December, so you can bet this extra *push*, with the one-sided competition, will be fun to watch. Busy work for the Idles, and real charity work for the Sussexes’ patronages. And you can bet the mortgage Peg will be FURIOUSLY campaigning to keep Harry away from laying a wreath for Remembrance. It *will* also be amusing to watch if H&M are invited to Chuck’s Christmas Carols, and the Wails scramble to come up with an excuse to *not* attend. Kinda hope Chuck makes it a “command” performance for the Wails. Hehehehehehe 😄

  11. LadyE says:

Ehhh, I am not sure what to believe here. I think it is 100% clear that King Charles knew about this before Sunday. The question is whether William and Kate really didn’t know until the announcement. IF that is true, I would be completely silent as well from pure shock if I were them. Because that indicates something is deeply, deeply wrong in their relationship with King Charles.

    • Royal Downfall Watcher says:

I totally agree with you. I find it inconceivable that Charles didn’t know about this for a long time. They would need security, need to find a home, school, etc….this was long in the works.

My theory is this is the last year they can do this before Will becomes king. And then living there would be intolerable.

I could see Charles knowing about this for quite some time, even helping pave the way by getting rid of his toxic aide and helping with security – and enjoying the prospect of blindsiding will and Kate.

      Which is hilarious.

  12. ChillinginDC says:

There’s no way Charles didn’t know and something tells me he has known for a while and maybe that’s why William was throwing such a fit for months now about Harry. He can’t deal with his brother drawing crowds and cheers.

    • Becks1 says:

I think Charles knew – at least he knew it was being discussed, if he didnt know it was 100% a go – but I’m not sure whether William has known it was being discussed. I think Charles has been shutting William out of a lot of discussions in general and that’s the hissy fit.

Or maybe William had an idea it was a possibility and he knew the Highgrove meeting sealed it? Or maybe he was told right after that meeting? Remember we said that william seemed to be taking that meeting relatively well and then he started crashing out in the press a week or two lateR?

    • Nic919 says:

Alderton doesn’t leave without Charles knowing why. This was an ask from Harry and he got it.

Maybe William didn’t know a lot, but Sykes is his mouthpiece and that guy knew something was going on. Same with dogfood for hire Eden.

  13. Henny Penny says:

What I’m seeing between the lines of this is that William had his chance and he blew it. Without his brother to compete with, and Charles sidelined with cancer, the last several years were William’s chance to shine and instead what we all saw was a lazy, rage-filled alcoholic unfit for service. And while that reality might be fun to laugh about, I’m sure it’s no laughing matter to those holding the real power.

    • Royal Downfall Watcher says:

I think you are right. I genuinely believe Charles knew about this for a long time. William will be King eventually, but he has shown over and over that he is incapable of being anything other than guy who throws tantrums and goes on vacation. Not a good look.

  14. Dee says:

“Charles is enjoying the waves of nervousness and panic coming off his heir and the heir’s bewigleted wife. Charles has been disgusted by their laziness for years now, and Charles knows that nothing lights a fire under them like “competing” with the Sussexes.”

BA HA HA HA HA HA bewigleted…

All this rings so true and is hilarious!

  15. Jais says:

The wording. Harry and Meghan cannot rejoin the royal family. Ummm, they already are a part of the royal family. Please. You mean they can’t rejoin the “working”’ part of the royal family. Only William and Kate can do all that “work.” Lmao.

    • Gail says:

Thank you Jais!!! I noticed the language in the post as well. The switch between family and firm like they are the same thing. Harry isn’t rejoining the family – he’s always been a member of the family. He will not be rejoining the firm. He will not be representing the crown.
But Harry was born ‘royal’ and will die a member of the ‘royal’ family. They conflate the two different roles, but only for Harry and Meghan.

  16. Zappy says:

Focus to themself ??? After released tons articles attacked H&M?
    LoL

  17. Over it says:

What public work are they focusing on exactly? These two do f all for months . Let’s not pretend otherwise. And Harry and Meghan said the king was told on Sunday. No one mentioned the bald one and his baby brain wife .
These two are always trying to make themselves seem more important than they are . Harry said space about him and Willy , when do you think Willy will finally get that through his alien shaped bald head

  18. Catherine says:

They are the ones that stand in need of forgiveness. William will make their lives hell when Charles dies.

  19. Kate says:

I think people should be prepared to be disappointed. If he can, Harry will be cozy with his brother by Christmas, whole family doing the Christmas walk. Probably not that, but something. I think a lot of peoples thoughts about this stuff come from watching what happened, Harry’s lack of comments on his brother and filling in their thoughts. Harry has never said he doesn’t want a relationship with William. Last week if someone said Harry would move his whole family to the UK, you’d call them nuts. And if Harry is able to move past his father putting his wife and child in danger and all the things he has said and done, he will be able to move on from what William has said and done. I do think William hates harry, and that will be the issue.

  20. jferber says:

So what else is new? They focus on what their country can do for them, not what they can do for their country. (Reverse John F. Kennedy speech)

  21. Lady Digby says:

When are Will and Kate ever Not focused on themselves!? I mean they aren’t focused on being value for money or providing a life of service at all?
