On Friday, Life & Style magazine set out a high alert that Real Housewife of New York Bethenny Frankel had gone into labor a month early. A friend told the tabloid: “Her water broke at 12:46 a.m. She’s at the hospital now.” Many people had followed Bethenny’s happy pregnancy news with then-boyfriend Jason Hoppy on this season’s RHONY, and had been rooting for her throughout her March shotgun wedding to Jason. And I’m sure many will be thrilled to learn that Bethenny gave birth to a healthy little girl on Saturday, May 8. Mother and child are apparently healthy and happy, and Jason and Bethenny released the name of their little girl to People Magazine: Bryn Hoppy.
Just in time for Mother’s Day, Bethenny Frankel is a new mom!
The Real Housewives of New York City star and her husband Jason Hoppy welcomed a baby girl Saturday, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
“Bethenny and Jason are proud to welcome their new baby girl, Bryn Hoppy, born at 8 a.m. . . . in New York City,” the rep says. “She is a 4 lb. 12 oz., healthy baby. Bryn, mom, dad and [their dog] Cookie are all very happy.”
Frankel and Hoppy, who were married March 28, were surprised to know the baby’s sex. “Jason won’t let me find out because he knows I’ll spoil it,” she told PEOPLE in an interview about her pregnancy.
She did, however, Tweet, “I had a dream it was a girl.”
So, it seems, dreams do come true!

I’m sure she and Jason are thrilled beyond belief, and it’s good that everyone is healthy despite Bethenny’s early labor. Considering Bryn is so small, I would think that the hospital would probably want Bethenny and Bryn to stay in the hospital for several extra days, but you can never tell. In any case, congratulations to the happy family!

Hoppy is the father’s last name, not a “f*cked up” middle name.

What happened to Bethenny’s face? I watch this show each week, and every darn episode I am absolutely fascinated with her face. She doesn’t look real, she looks like…a muppet? I am really freaked out by that face.
Bethany actually could stand to gain 5 pounds, I think she would like much less angular. But glad everyone is happy and healthy!

That Jason was bald and looked older and she used to really henpeck and belittle him.
This Jason is a new Jason- not the one from a few seasons ago.
His name is Jason Hoppy, and he seems to make her happy.

provided that there are no significant health issues (and the baby’s not too floppy/passes the car seat test), they usually discharge a baby after it hits (or exceeds) 5 pounds

My twins were born one month early & my son came home weighing 4 lbs 4 oz. He was born at 3 lbs 14 oz & spent 13 days in the NICU. Once he was able to do all they needed him to do, he got to come home. Weight had nothing to do with it.
Bulimia cheeks for sure. Or she’s a recovered one. Might be from morning sickness puking. I was bulimic 10 years and even one purge will swell your face for a week.

My son was premie, 4#3oz @ birth and came home @ 4#4oz. Weight is a factor in the UK (so I read somewhere), but here once they pass their “physicals” they can come home. The problem is most car seats are only rated for 5# and up, so less than 5# isn’t ok. The inserts help if your baby is smaller.
I was wondering when she’d give birth already– It felt like she was pregnant for a long time, but I didn’t realize it was premature! I’m glad everyone is healthy.
That doesn’t change the fact that her wisdom-teeth-just-pulled-out jaw and her progressively melty looking skin make me want to vomit.
bulimia cheeks? the woman has a very strong jaw line. she’s gained weight during her pregnancy and it shows in her face. why in the world would you just assume that she’s bulimic and throwing up while pregnant?
Ughh hope the baby doesn’t inherit that ugly man jaw face. And she was probably so paranoid about gaining weight during pregnancy she endangered her baby and it was born underweight.
weight is not a criteria anymore in discharging preemies.
they must be able to maintain their body temperature for 24 to 48 hours, tolerate a full feeding, and be steadily gaining weight (.5 to 1 oz a day)
my oldest was born 3 months early and came home after just 7 weeks weighing 3 lbs, 14 ozs

I too thought she just had an odd face, BUT I’ve since watched, or shall say TRIED to watch Intervention “Amy” a bulimic, and in seeing the post and pre bulimia pictures of her, all I could think of was , “Damn, that’s just like Bethany Frankel’s face.” I watch too much damn tv.

It’s obvious her baby was born early because she was too skinny. She should of gained some extra weight while pregnant to protect the baby.
The baby was born almost a month early and that weight is on target for the babies gestational age. I’m inclined to believe that her age (43) had more to do with the early delivery than anything else.
@ kelbear, I agree… A lot of manhattan mother’s to-be are “pregnorexic” and give birth to underweight babies. there’s also the trend of not carrying a baby to 9 months in order to avoid gaining the extra baby weight!

As for all of you people commenting on her looks, this is happy baby news. Nobody cares what you think of her appearance! I for one think she is a very striking woman. Maybe not “traditionally” beautiful, but she has a look, and she has great style.

That’s because that toad Perez Hilton leaked her pregnancy at just 2 months! She wasn’t even past her 1st trimester..
I’m so happy for this family… I think she is beautiful regardless of if she has a square jaw line or not. This family is very blessed and thank God that Bryn is healthy. Has anyone seen recent pics of her to assume she must have given birth a month early because she was skinny? The pics above were from Feb- I would imagine she had gained much more weight than that…

I was born a month early and weighed a little over 5 lbs….my mother was not too skinny, she was thin though, and she actually gained 30 lbs with me… Then again my brother who was a month late and needed to be induced, was also born weighing a little over 5 lbs and she was healthy at the time.. too many things factor into giving birth…at least she didn’t schedule her C section like some people I do know…..as far as her looks are concerned…who cares.

Boy. Some of you are brutal. I am happy for them. They seem happy and their baby is healthy. It doesn’t affect anyone but them…name of the baby or the father of what any of them look like. Goodness.

Bethenny is 39, turns 40 in October. (someone posted she is 43, hello? why make her older than needed)
People pay big bucks to have bone structure like this woman. She doesn’t “do” anything to her face. She is a striking woman, on TV and in person.
She built a brand from nothing, found the man of her dreams and married him, wanted a baby girl and guess what? She obtains her goals.
As women we should cheer her on and celebrate it. But we like to tear them apart.

I’ve never seen anyone with such a square face. Is it bone that gives her face this shape? Or could she have those golf ball sized blobs sliced off?

Bethany’s face has obviously changed this season. I dont know if its plastic surgery or the pregnancy, but there is big difference.

I too have wondered if she is bulimic. As a matter of fact, after seeing a picture of her I googled Bethany bulimic and found this site. It is the glands by her jaw line that give it away. Bulimia causes those to swell. Chronic bulimia causes alterations in your face and after stopping bulimia, it takes many months before the glands begin to get back to normal.
