See, I disagree. I think only someone who has had problems of their own can be of any help. What do any of those other people know about how to deal with the aftermath of a meltdown if they’ve never experienced it first or second hand? They may have been of some service BEFORE Britney lost her mind, as they have clearly kept themselves out of trouble, but not now.

I see what you’re saying about Mel not having his shit together, but maybe Robin is the one doing most of the helping and Mel is just helping her feel like she isn’t the ONLY one to have public embarrasment.

I’m glad she looks better and that she has some people in her life that actually have her best interest at heart for once!

Oh please, this may just be another scam for that new Ashton Kutcher show. Or she’s doing it to piss off former BFF Madonna. Or both.
There’s no valid reason why Mel Gibson would suddenly emerge to help Britney, with whom, as far as we know, he has no previous connections. Or is Hollywood even smaller than we all thought and all the celebs know each other, “The Village” style?
Anyway, I think it’s a fake news report.

Wow! I knew dude was not universally liked anymore but I didn’t realize there was such hate and vitriol for Mel Gibson.

anyway, you all need to take a trip over to dlisted and read his write up. If you don’t pee your pants giggling, I don’t know what is wrong with you.

I thought his film was great and was an excellent portrayal of what happened. Sometimes people groups, in certain sections, do bad things. Did every single Jewish person kill Jesus, no.. some actually followed Him.. but many Jewish leaders got together and caused issues within the town, thus Pilot allowing the crucifixion. And frankly, I was glad someone finally made something that accurately portrayed what happened. It wasn’t a cutesy, embossed in gold event. I encourage folks to read up on it, it’s information worth having.

It’s like saying that Nazis weren’t German bc you’re implying that all Germans were Nazis. A small group of Germans were bad, doesn’t make all Germans bad. Anyway, tangent!

I agree with Mollination that often times ppl with issues, or trying to overcome their issues have a little insight. Maybe it helps to have someone who’s walked a mile in her shoes talk to her? Or maybe it’s all a bunch of crap and they just happened to be at the same place at the same time? She looks cute int he stills!

it’s not a simple matter of his movie portraying a few jewish characters as bad. he has gone on drunken tirades against jews in general. and the weird little catholic subsect he and his father belong to is very vocal about the evilness of the jews. and from what i’ve heard about his movie it overflowed with anti-semitism. (i was too much of a wuss to want to sit through the carnage.)

just sign me, a regular run of the mill catholic whose savior was a nice little jewish boy,

  7. headache says:

He went on one drunken anti-semitic tirade if I recall correctly. He is a drunk who was raised by a holocause denier. He wouldn’t be the first drunk to say nasty things just to hurt someone when liquored up.

To me there is a difference between saying dumbass things in a drunken tirade and treating people disrespectfully because of their religion or color. You give me an example of Mel treating someone badly on that basis and I will vilify him as an antisemite. Until then, may he continue to wrestle his demons and may his other children understand both from his mistakes and that of their older siblings how much of a danger alcohol can be to someone with their family history.

When are people going to realize that people are multifaceted? They are rarely all good or all bad.

As to his children having problems with drinking, they have an alcoholic father. Addictive personalities can be inherited.

    ::clap:: Agree wholeheartedly with Headache.

The movie Passion of the Christ was one thing, but then he went off on a drunken tirade blaiming the Jews for all the wars, it’s also well known his father is a Holocaust denier-This is well known because his father was interviewed and he said this- there is tape of him saying this ) also he is a part of a very old school version of Catholisism which still teaches that Jews are mostly evil and killed Jesus.
Make no mistake people, Mel Gibson is anti-semitic.
I wonder if Britney’s family is that way?? Afterall, they were raised in the south (Southern Babtist)

Just so people know. A Lot of Jews had moved up to Europe and other areas during Jesus’s time and crucification..so they had no clue who he was or what was happening in Rome at that time. Therefore they weren’t all responsible for his death. Even if so called Jews at that time in Rome were partly responsible for Jesus’s death, so were the Romans. Crucification was a Roman practice.
Many Jews didn’t even know who Jesus was until years later and after Paul had prostetized the religion so much that it would be such a major force and power and would have all these followers. So at that point it may had been hard for Jews to convert or believe in some story about some guy in Rome that they didn’t know and they revolted and stuck with their own religion. After all, Jesus was a Jew and died a Jew. So why would they want to convert? Jesus (probably) would never want this kind of hatred against his own people.
