Liv Tyler’s overly Photoshopped face on Tatler: ‘I can’t date’

tatler
There’s something so sweet and vulnerable about Liv Tyler and I have this protective instinct that takes over when I read her interviews. She’s a genuinely good person and I get a warm yet tender vibe from her. We haven’t heard much from Tyler lately, and the last interview I remember with her was over a year ago. I’m sure she’s done interviews since, but this one really stood out for me as she was so candid. She explained how she was dealing with the pain of her divorce, from British rocker Royston Langdon, who she was married to from 2003-2008, and said “there’s nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It’s like there’s a physical sickness.” Liv has a son, Milo, five and a half, with Langdon.

In a new interview with British magazine Tatler, Liv says that she has trouble casually dating, and that it’s rare for her to really fall for someone. So far these are the only quotes I could find from the interview and I hope that we hear more from it soon:

After separating from her husband Royston Langdon of the band Spacehog seven years ago, Liv Tyler seems in no hurry to get hitched again.

“I fall in love once in a blue moon,” the 32-year-old actress and model wistfully informs Tatler.

She adds that her friends have tried to persuade her to go out on dates, but she will have none of it. “I wouldn’t be capable of having a casual fling,” she says. “I’m far too sensitive, and I just wouldn’t have any pleasure from it.”

[From Telegraph.co.uk]

We haven’t heard much about Tyler’s dating life, but she was linked briefly to notorious womanizer Zach Braff late last year. From everything I’ve heard about the guy, he’s a royal jerk. Maybe Tyler just isn’t dating the right guys! There are plenty of decent men who would love to have a chance with her, and it doesn’t have to end in more heartache. It must be hard being a single mom, and a celebrity, and trying to weed out the men with good intentions. Especially if there are guys like Zach Braff falling all over themselves to date you. Just google them first, Liv! At least she’s not falling hard for every guy she dates, like a certain other celebrity mom who never seems to go a week without a serious boyfriend.

Oh and I have to mention how weird Liv’s face looks on the cover of Tatler! She’s a beautiful woman, but they did something to her face that makes it look like her mouth is taking over. Maybe the image looks better on the magazine than it does on this kind of lossy image. What should be a lovely Ralph Lauren-esque type shot is kind of ruined by drab hair and a strange expression that’s been overly “corrected” by Photoshop.

i hated her character in ‘the strangers’.

by the end i wanted to kill her myself just to shut up her constant whining. 🙁

  2. Gwen says:

I don’t understand where this “sweet and vulnerable” and “genuinely good person” stuff comes from. Do you know her?? I don’t, and until I do I’m not going to make assumptions like that. Chances are she’s another Hollywood trainwreck, just with better PR and a lower profile.

  3. Big Mama says:

She looks like she is crying because her teeth are growing out of control.

I have always liked her. I wish her well.

  4. Smith says:

Love her, but yes from the neck up it looks like she’s channeling Kate Hepburn …

“Oh we’re going to talk about me are we? Goodie.”

  5. Angie says:

She looks like Nancy Kerrigan on the mag cover shot.

  6. andrea says:

she’s gorgeous. and her statements about dating – i am just the same way, i could totally relate to what she is saying. and yeah, it must be very hard to be someone who has that sensitive/relationship-oriented/not going to run through a zillion guys personality when you’re surrounded by hollywood types.

  7. Cirque28 says:

I feel for Liv because I read her mother’s autobiography. Wow. Bebe Buell might possibly be a sociopath. I recall something in it about her lying to Liv that she (Bebe, that is) was terminally ill. It’s amazing that any child of hers could be remotely normal.

  8. Eileen Yover says:

@Cirque28 That’s sounds like a book I want to read! What’s it called?

  9. original kate says:

angie – i think she looks like kerrigan here, too! and that is not a good thing.

  10. Maggie Grace says:

I remember seeing a candid picture of her on a site a couple years ago, she went to the aid of someone who was in trouble – perhaps they had fallen down and she was seeing if they were okay. She is a good citizen, if nothing else.

She looks thin. That could explain the prominance of the teeth.

  11. dominique says:

I always found her to come off as authentic and endearing, so I always hoped it was the real her.

I also think she is insanely gorgeous and I don’t why the magazine ruined that beautiful face. I don’t know why, but I remember this interview she did on the Today Show years ago and I was taken aback by how beautiful she was. I really can’t say that about any actresses that are popular at the moment (especially not that Fox girl).

  12. Cirque28 says:

@Eileen Yover: It’s called Rebel Heart. She didn’t seem to have a whole lot of interest in mothering Liv, at least not when Liv was little (and not yet famous).

  13. MsTriste says:

My sister was an extra on a movie with her years ago, and told me that while she was standing around, Liv started chatting with her, “just like a normal person”. She got the impression that Liv was a genuinely nice person.

I think Liv looks better in the candid shot above, than she does in the cover shot.

  14. normade says:

I agree with Gwen. Actually I have friends that worked at Cholé when Stella McCarthny was there and Liv used to come by a lot. They said she was really annoying as well as being really “big boned”. Sorry if that’s mean!

  15. bellaluna says:

What the hell did they do to her face? She’s a natural beauty, and I’ve liked her for ages because she seems so down to earth.

  16. Kayleigh says:

Who thought that was a good shot? “YEAH MORE TEETH! And lets call it a day.” Ugh yucky picture 🙁

  17. hellen says:

That photo makes her look like Hillary Swank. Nooooooooooo!

  18. womanfromthenorth says:

They shrunk her head!! Good Lordy, how can you take a truly beautiful woman and make her look like a sideshow freak!

Now we know , shrink her head!

  19. anon says:

FWIW she is a cancer (hello astrology dorks! i have no shame) and they tend to be very like this- sensitive, sweet AND elicit the protective instinct in others b/c they are super vulnerable.. they often tend to be well liked (going on my experiences and knowing a lot.. all astro stuff i do take with grain of salt..) but she does seem soft spoken and kind. No stories on her about being a bitch and i know a few people who worked in the industry for a long time and would have heard.. she’s the real deal.

As for her mom- wreck. As someone with a mom a lot like hers (not groupie part.. the selfish non mom personality.. more like ‘let me be your hip friend! I feel for Liv. She turned out amazingly despite the strange mother figure situation. Good for her. And her son is a beautiful child. Reminds me a little of helena christensen’s kid Mingus very angelic little face. aww.

  20. flourpot says:

    Yikes. Not a good picture.

  21. missmilly says:

    Ahhh–good article Celebitchy. 🙂 I agree,.

  22. Paula says:

    Ghastly.

  23. Cazzyb-uk says:

    God almighty.

  24. DoMaJoReMc says:

“…makes it look like her mouth is taking over.”

Helllloooo! She IS Steven Tyler’s offspring, after all!

    MWAAAAAAAH!

  25. DetRiotgirl says:

I always thought her mouth was kind of huge, personally. But, that’s what seperated her look from other stars of her age for me. So, I suppose it’s not a bad thing.

  26. Fae says:

Sod the teeth, look at the eyes. The eeeeeeyes. Especially the right one (our right, her left). They look like they ripped out her normal ones and put in specialist taxidermist budget
    glass eyes for the occasion.

Someone at Tatler needs a bloody strong talking to and a bop on the nose with a rolled up newspaper.

  27. loriirol says:

I used to live in the same building as her years ago in the Village.

One day I got into the elevator with her and 2 guys that were wearing soccer uniforms and had obviously just finished playing a game. They were trying to chat her up and she was politely smiling and making small talk. When the guys exited onto their floor and the door closed and she turned to me and said, “It’s like being in Paris, but not”. It was so funny coming from her and I found it quite endearing. She always has seemed like a really sweet girl with, obviously, a sense of humor.

  28. Lisa says:

She should fire her dentist and request a refund on those horse veneers.

  29. moocow says:

I can’t completely like all these celebs, as much as I like Liv.

How do they not feel embarrassed putting themselves out there like that D: Is it really necessary?

  30. Mouse says:

I really like her, as well as you can like someone you know through the media. She seems sweet and down to earth. I think she’s a stunning natural beauty. But WHY do the people who make these magazines think we want to see people so obviously overly photoshopped?!
