Harrison Ford makes debut appearance at Comic-Con, nerds wet themselves

Damn, Harrison Ford is looking good, isn’t he? Yes, his arms look a little strange, and he looks like he recently lost some weight, which makes me wonder if he’s sick, but all in all, Harrison is still a damn fine man. I love that at the age of 68 years old, he’s still capable of delivering that cute, naughty little Han Solo/Indiana Jones face. Sweet. Oh, and Harrison arrived on stage… in HANDCUFFS.

Sweet Jesus. Harrison had been persuaded to make his first-ever Comic-Con appearance by Jon Favreau, who directed Ford in Cowboys & Aliens. According to every media outlet who witnessed the event, Harrison got one of the biggest receptions in the history of Comic-Con. Basically, nerds were crying with joy. I would be crying too if I saw Harrison in handcuffs in front of me (Harrison’s entrance begins at 3:30-ish in the video):

Ah damn, Kaiser’s drooled all over the floor again – can we get a mop please? 😈

  2. truthSF says:

Oh, Han Solo was the first “love of my life”, lol.

Best lines from Empire Strikes Back:

    Leia: I Love You.

    Han: I know. (that pimp)

and of course only to be outdone by:

Darth Vader: Luke, I am your father.

    Luke: NOOOooooooo!!!

    LOL @Mairead

  3. Bodhi says:

Ahaha! My friend’s husband was there & she said that he nergasamed on the phone!! He said that Harrison was making fun of the fanboy who tried to stab that other fanboy

  4. TaylorB says:

He doesn’t look ill, just a bit flabby which is normal for his age (almost 70) even for a fit person like Ford. I think he looks great, regardless of his age.

To be fair I am a bit of a Star Wars nerd, so my bias may be showing, because I LOVE HAN SOLO!

  5. jen says:

So glad he got rid of those ridiculous earrings!

  6. ctkat says:

The handcuffs bit was following the nerd who was taken out in handcuffs after stabbing another nerd with a pen for refusing to change seats for the panel…so Harrison is adaptable, since he only had minutes to decide to come out in handcuffs!

  7. Ally says:

    Han Solo is the coolest.
All the others are just posers.

  8. curegirl0421 says:

Oh that was priceless!!! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Cory says:

He’s a Roman Polanski supporter. He signed the petition. He flew to France to personally give Polanski the Oscar. And then there’s that stomach turning standing ovation at the Oscars. He’s boycotted. Really disappointing.

  10. danielle says:

HAN SOLO!!!! tee hee – I’m a nerd girl

  11. xxodettexx says:

i hate to date myself, but he is probably one of the few actors that would make me go into a hysterically screaming fit

yes, i am a GEEK and han solo was my LOVE growing up! 🙂

  12. xxodettexx says:

@truthSF: word, that line between han and leia was my ultimate fav line in the three movies, the cockiness was just amazing…

@cory: say it isnt so!!!!! did he really sign the polanski petition… damn

  13. Ally says:

Han and Leia weren’t cheesy like other on-screen couples in HW films usually are and that’s thanks to Ford.

  14. Ron says:

I worked with him years ago and he is completely charming. A truly sweet man.

  15. H says:

Raises hand to join all the others whose first crush was Han Solo 🙂

  16. Exiled says:

It’s not flab on his upper arm, it’s loose skin (when an older man works out and then gets older .. the skin sorta sags) Arnold has it too.

  17. original kate says:

    da-a-yum! he looks good.

  18. ewww says:

Wow. He does look good. Wrinkles, gray hair and still hot. Like a regular human, aging appropriately instead of filled and pulled into some plastic version of his former self. It makes such a difference!

  19. viper says:

Amazing how great he looks. Seriously the man is definately one of the jewls of hollywood.

  20. jul says:

@Ally: He actually suggested the “I know” line in Empire Strikes Back. They originally wanted him to say “I love you too” or something like that, but he felt it was too weak for Han.

    YAY HARRISON!!

  21. Donna Wingfield says:

    Love him!

  22. Ally says:

jul: didn’t know that about the line. Of course his idea was better. Han is too cool.

  23. Raven says:

Damn, who hasn’t shown up at this event? I suspect the nerds will be outnumbered next year by fans of all kinds wanting to get another look at their favorite stars.

But Harrison does look hot. He’s definitely gotten better with age. Or maybe with Calista.

  24. MissyA says:

I was (still am) a meganerd growing up. Video games, comic books, anything remotely related to sci fi. . . I was one of the only girls who had a subscription to “Gamers” and frequented Marvel forums. Needless to say, Han Solo was one of my first “boyfriends”.

I’d totally wet my pants if I even saw someone who looked remotely like Harrison Ford. (I say that from experience. 🙁 )

  25. jane16 says:

Polanski supporting aside, Harrison is a truly nice person, always treats the people he works with well, never a diva. Also, he & Calista help a lot of people with their money. Classy, decent human being.

  26. Dhavy says:

He looks good for his age but I was looking more at Daniel Craig, damn he’s hot!

  27. KateNonymous says:

He looks better than he has in years. Was he coherent? Normally he mumbles so much that you’d think he’d suffered some sort of debilitating incident, although I hear it’s just all that weed he (allegedly) smokes.

  28. LolaBella says:

Is it just me, or does he look like Richard Gere in that top photo?

    LOL@ ‘nerdgasm’.

  29. lucy2 says:

Han Solo and Indiana Jones are two of my all time favorite characters. I like Harrison very much as an actor, and he does still look pretty good. But that line of beard scruff he’s got going looks a little odd.

  30. J says:

It’s good to see some real movie stars!

  31. serena says:

Oh god, I would be crying and wet myself too. He’s too great, seriously.

  32. daisy424 says:

    Mmmmmmmm 😉

  33. Liana says:

got to work on a film he was in once… so nice to the crew. Pure gentleman.

  34. Canucklehead says:

    Cool video

at 3:45 it looks like he actually is a bit overwhelmed with his reception.

  35. Julia says:

    Wow. He looks great.

  36. Jen says:

Love him! And he still looks charming as hell.
