Britney Spears may represent Bally Total Fitness

In her quest to get her life back – or at least her dad’s quest – Britney Spears is getting both her mental and physical health in shape. Britney’s got her old manager Larry Rudolph back on her team, and with the help of her dad/conservator Jaime Spears, she seems to really be getting her act together. Brit’s lost a good deal of weight and is looking much healthier – you hardly ever see her with Cheetos or a Frappuccino in hand anymore. TMZ is reporting that Britney is in negotiations to be the frontwoman for Ballys Fitness.

Sources tell TMZ Britney Spears is in negotiation with Bally Total Fitness to be a frontwoman for the company — and backwoman, too! Here’s what we know. Brit’s parents have both been talking to Bally about making a deal. Daddy Jamie has the power as co-conservator to make it happen. It all happened because Larry Rudolph, who is coming back to manage the Britster, has a close friendship with John Wildman, the Chief Marketing Officer of Bally.

During the negotiations, Brit has been going to the club at least once a day and up to as many as three times a day. She’s training with two of the company’s top personal trainers — we’re guessing one for the front and one for the back. She’s also working with the company’s nutritionist, who has put Britney on five to six quality meals a day. No Taco Bell, no Fanta … life can really suck.

TMZ is quick to point out there there’s no deal yet; both sides are still negotiating. Brit does get to work out for free – so that saves her about $20 right there. TMZ says a “company insider said, “We’re more interested in Britney Spears’ health than her $19.” I’m not quite so sure it’s her health they’re worried about – I think it’s more her ass. I’m kidding, but obviously they’re interested in her health for the sake of their company. Anything that gets Britney up, out, and moving has got to be a good thing. And if she has to leave the chalupas alone, so be it.

Here’s Britney leaving Bally Total Fitness after a private training session in Los Angeles yesterday. Images thanks to WENN.

Update by Celebitchy: Bally Total Fitness is well known for scamming and pressuring people into signing multi-year contracts that can’t be canceled. A friend of mine had his credit ruined when he tried to get out of a long contract there. I was once put in a room with a salesperson there and pressured into signing a contract after a friend of mine brought me for a workout. They’ve been sued many times for this tactic. The company went bankrupt in August of last year, and was bought out by a hedge fund.

Maybe if they would have set rates for specific packages and would publish their membership fees they wouldn’t need to try and use Britney to lure in more people to scam. You should be able to know what the rates are for a club ahead of time and not be pressured to sign a contract right away.

Why are they trying to negotiate her as a frontwoman for anything – are they that desperate to make an easy buck?

It’s kind of obvious that Britney’s ability to balance any responsibility is rather tenuous why put her under more pressure to lose weight than she’s already got herself under?

Honestly, commercial interests, they’ll stoop to anything to make money on the back of something. And if they can do it while implying our bodies aren’t good enough as they are then more power (and money) to them, it seems.

I suppose this is no different than commecial interests trying to make money off of Amy Winehouse. I suppose if Britney ever got to lowest than her low weight and managed to stay there all the fashion contracters would suddenly start a bidding war. ::eyeroll::

I agree, FF. She is doing much better, but I see it as really fragile and don’t think she’s up for any big career thing. The teaching dancing to third graders sounds appealing, she’d be productive and yet not be weighed down with responsibility and publicity. She needs to be OUT of the eye of the camera, not in. Besides, this does not sound like the best company in the world to be a spokesperson for.

  3. neelyo says:

They should probably get a non-smoking spokesperson. I agree with the other two posters. She needs to go away for her own good. She doesn’t need her manager back, she needs a good doctor. Has she burnt through so much money that she has to work?

  4. Leni says:

LOL! First she should not be a role model for anyone anymore, and secondly I agree with all the above.

  5. Derek says:

Exercise will help her physical & mental health. This will pressure her into sticking with a wellness program and getting results.

The reputation of high pressure sales tactics are from the early 1990’s. The company has really changed for the better and they have pricing on the internet and on brochures at their clubs.

I think it’s a great relationship for both parties and everyone should be supportive of the New Better Bally & Britney.

Does not really matter if she work out at Bally Total Fitness or 24 Hour or LA Fitness. She is not trying to be a role model. And this a response to JayBird: It’s not just Bally Total Fitness with their multi-year contract, 24 Hour Fitness has them also but they don’t tell you that. All these health clubs want you on a multi-year contract. And by the way, it’s cheaper in the long run. After 3 years, I pay a mere $10 a month. And it’s really my health and fitness that I care about. Read the contract, any contract for that matter before you put your signature!

  7. Thanks !! very helpful post!

  8. The scary thing is when you look at the vast difference of pics on stage vs. off stage, almost like bodybuilders during show season and off season.

  9. Did you know treadmills could be used for a full body workout? It was news to me and interesting to find out. Be cool!
