Here are some new photos of Angelina Jolie at the UK premiere of Salt, today, Monday. I am so… disappointed in this look. It’s a look we haven’t seen from Angelina since the Great Glittery Sack Debacle of the 2009 Awards Season. This looks like something Suri Cruise would choose for her mother, you know? It looks like something a kid would pick out, and the line of the dress is very… childish. Very “updated work smock, tied with a piece of ribbon that was just laying around.”
Brad wasn’t there either – my guess is that he’s absorbed in the ‘Moneyball’ shoot, and Angelina either went to Europe alone, or she brought a couple of kids with her, and left a few kids behind. CB mentioned that Angelina is going to be in Germany either Tuesday or Wednesday (I forget), so it’s not like Jolie is just making a quick London run. I always wonder about Angelina alone in London – she lived there off and on for years, and I would imagine she still has many friends and quite a few ex-lovers in town. Do you think she grabbed a quick piece of Jonny Lee Miller? Maybe had a quickie with Ralph Fiennes? NO, of course not.
Back to the dress – total meh. I mean, it’s not hideous on her, but it just does nothing for her. The color washes her out, it’s a glittery, shapeless sack. I guess I should be thankful that it’s not YET ANOTHER black strapless, right? I might need to write Angelina’s stylist another open letter.

There is nothing wrong with that dress!! I swear, Angelina can’t do anything right, according to some people. If she wears black (which she loves) she’s gutted and if she tries to wear something different, she’s gutted. The woman can’t seem to please her critics. It’s ridiculous. Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman and she looks amazing in everything she wears. (It’s a good thing Angelina herself could care less what people think of her so I’ll just get upset for her.)
P.S.: “Salt” has earned just under $200M worldwide and it hasn’t even open in some of the biggest countries yet. Another major hit for Angelina.
I really like the dress, it is different and she has the figure to pull it off. Imagine how many events she goes to, she must get really sick of wearing the same black dress.

Usually I think fashion risks are fun, but this is not good. Even the hair is off. She looks dumpy…Angelina Jolie looks dumpy. The dress that can make her look dumpy, is a baaaad dress.

@LOVE ANGELINA – I didn’t say extensive, I said a lot of plastic surgery. Plastic surgery doesn’t have to be extensive to make you look different. It’s amazing what some tweaking can do.

Why do some people insist on posting every cent that “Salt” rakes in? Even if this movie makes billions, it’s still average-at-best in the quality department, which really isn’t anything to boast about. Oh well, I guess it just irks me that a lousy movie that happens to make lots of money is considered a “hit” while a brilliant film like “Winter’s Bone” — with an equally brilliant cast — goes unrecognized by the masses. Lame.

Dress isn’t bad, I have seen it on the model that showed it in the fashion show, and it has a black belt around it that looks fantastic on it, but on her it is just not a good choice at all. She needs color on her pale skin.

Majosha- I totally agree. The studio’s spend millions of $$ promoting movies like EPL and Salt with their celebrity casts known more for their personal lives than their acting skills. Films like Winter’s Bone are what elevate film to art. It was beautiful, heartbreaking and haunting as was the cast, esp. Jennifer Lawrence. Yet hardly anyone has seen it. Now she ( Jennifer Lawrence) could have handled the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

I really dislike this dress. Not her best look.
As for Salt–it’s a popcorn film. No one expects more than a fun ride and a little bit of escapism from it. Not everyone goes to the movies for exactly the same reasons. I like some actions film; so I liked it. Glad to see that she beat the boys though. Her movie opened highed than movies by Cruise, Denzel, Gyllenhall and Stallone’s opening last weekend. Pretty cool.
@Morgs: I live in a semi-tiny town, and it took FOREVER for Winter’s Bone to finally show up in our only little art house theater, so I feel your pain. And to answer your question, yes, it was remarkably well done on very level. Brilliant script, haunting music, and as @zippersgirl so rightly pointed out, an incredible — and I mean INCREDIBLE — performance by Jennifer Lawrence. The rest of the cast was amazing, too. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so moved by a film — both my husband and I were absolutely floored by the movie’s end.
@zippersgirl: I totally agree that Jennifer could successfully play Lisbeth. Both Ree and Lisbeth are similar in the way their circumstances require them to persevere in spite of the fear/rage/uncertainty simmering just beneath the surface. It takes a hell of an actor to pull off that kind of subtle torment.
It’s not a great dress, but she doesn’t look washed out to me. In fact she looks excruciatingly beautiful. I think the color, hair and makeup worked so well, that the dress didn’t have to.
Majosha- I am hoping against hope this “little” art film is remembered when the Oscars roll around.

Actually I like the dress. It’s not all tits and legs, it has class (and the beading looks exquisite). I can understand not wanting to accentuate how thin she’s become by not having something too fitted.

As for plastic surgery theres a couple of photos where her nose looks fat but then if u bother look at ones taken before them or around the same time it looks thinner again.

i thought that maybe she did have surgery cos of these sites but if u watch angelinas films and look at enough photos you can see that the change has come gradually through aging and weightloss. Even in the tomb raider films when she was undoubtedly at her hottest and lauded as the most beautiful woman by soo many you can see her nose is not as defined, cuter. why would she change it if she was already hot and everyone agreed? And after watching hackers and seeing old photos from when she was 19 its was bloody same!

When she have to go to work she go to work wrong or right… then in the mean time she get this great energy from her god .. and does what she have to do to make..it with out of any hurt harm or danger to herself .. then she can be the full time mom or part time work mom for her Family. I belive if she wear anything .. she wants maybe she would have worn some jeans sneakers,etc or a cat suit.. so she did wear something presentable .. That video link was interesting Praise. I’m no expert, but I think the majority of changes have to do with age and a lot of weight loss. I do think there may have been a little tweak to the nose though, based on those video clips it gets slightly more refined. If so it was well done and looks good.

These are the worst pictures I have seen of her. And yes–She has had plastic surgery nose, boobs and that “dewy skin” is thanks to microdermabrasion or chemical peels. I have had microdermabrasion and chemical peels and my skin looks amazing.

I think the problem with the dress is that the neckline sort of droops down on one side, the ribbon is too thin and not straight across, and the lighting washes out what is probably a very delicate pastel colour. And being shiny doesn’t help.
My guess is a) pregnant and/or b) probably dresses herself too quickly and is distracted by kids and/or work.
I used to love the LOVE ANGELINA from Dlisted a few years back. I thought that she was well older though than this modern CB version. The Dlisted one was way more unhinged and extreme – whereas this CB one seems just, well, quite nice really.
I’m sure some of you usual suspects must remember the LOVE ANGELINA from Dlisted – it was brilliant. Insanely so – with the emphasis on (God Bless the JPs!) insane. Sadly, there’s no way these could be the same person short of lithium.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually really like this dress. I like the fabric and the cut (slightly toga-ish). Only thing I’d change is I’d make the waistline more fitted and the ribbon thing thicker.
The reason it looks like a sack in some pictures is Angie’s stoopid poses.
On a different subject, I’m amused by the blanket “you yanks have no fashion sense” commentary. The funny thing about CB is that it’s owned by an American living in Germany, with writers from about the place (okay Kaiser lives in America, but there used to be more bloggers). But the thing I noticed when it comes out is how many not-Americans there are here.
As a not-American, I find it bigoted of you to leave me out of the fashion sweepstakes. So have at it: that dress has looked beautiful on another woman – I’ve seen it! The problem with AJ’s clothing at these events is that she/they don’t match the clothing to little things like, you know, her body, colouring, hair, makeup.
But other than that, it’s a lovely dress.

The dress is awful. It’s a rare occasion when Angelina wears a beautiful gown. I don’t understand her taste in clothes. She is slender enough to wear figure hugging gowns and to look really glamorous, yet she always these loose, sacky, odd colored nightgowns. The dress looks like it came unraveled on one side and it’s falling apart. I really hate the dress. UGH!
