Levi Johnston’s only regret is apologizing to Sarah Palin

Levi Johnston was the CBS Early Show this morning… for absolutely no reason other than to bitch and moan about the Palins. While I’m not going to mock Levi in general (because, hey, I’m reading and writing coverage about his interview), I will give Levi this gentle suggestion: get a job and keep your mouth shut until something really important happens. We don’t need Levi to chime in every time a Palin has a bowel movement, you know? I think Levi was called in specifically to chime in about Bristol Palin being named as one of the new season’s contestants on Dancing With the Stars. But Levi ended up talking about all things Palin and all things breakup:

If Levi Johnston could take back anything, it would be… posing for Playgirl? His on-off, on-off relationship and engagement to Bristol Palin, mother of his son Tripp, 20 months? Nope. For Johnston, his biggest and only regret is a public apology he made to his famous would-be mother-in-law, Sarah Palin.

“I don’t really regret anything,” Johnston, 20, says in a CBS Early Show interview broadcast Friday morning. “But the only thing I wish I wouldn’t have done is to put out that apology [to Palin and the Palin family].”

“‘Cause it kind of makes me sound like a liar. And I’ve never lied about anything. So that’s probably the only thing. The rest of the stuff I can live with.”

So why did he apologize to Sarah in the first place? “That was something I did to make my fiancée happy,” he said.

His two-time former fiance, Bristol, even weighed in following that apology to praise Johnston, who has posed for Playgirl, for doing the “honorable thing.”

During his war of words with Palin, Johnston accused the GOP star of not caring about her job as governor of Alaska and said that the Palins were thinking about divorcing. He also previously alleged that Sarah knew he and Bristol were sharing a bed in the Palin house while they were dating.

Johnston — he and Bristol, 19, called off their second engagement last month — recently signed on for a reality show and is running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

Will he be a better leader than Sarah, Alaska’s former governor? “Let’s hope so,” he says during the interview. “I can’t guarantee or promise you anything but I’m gonna try… That’s the goal.”

“If we do win, I’m going to have to give up Hollywood for three years. I really don’t think it’s [becoming mayor] about qualifications,” Johnston says. “It’s really about, you know, the people liking you and believing in you.”

He insists he’s not running for office to spite his ex-girlfriend’s mom.

“I don’t care what she did or where she was at. I’m doing it because I want to.”

Oh, I guess he was on CBS to do press for his mayoral run? Because CBS puts every mayoral candidate on. Regarding Levi’s apology – the National Enquirer had an interesting story in last week’s issue about how the apology was all part of one of Sarah Palin’s elaborate plans. I can’t find the article online anymore, so I’m doing this from memory: apparently, Sarah Palin decided to use her daughter’s reconciliation with Levi to encourage Levi to make a big public apology, knowing that if Levi just said one time that he made up some of his Palin accusations, no one would ever believe him again. That’s kind of ingenious, honestly. Because it worked – Levi doesn’t really have any credibility anymore, even if he’s trying to pull a “takesies-backsies” on his apology.

My only regret is that this fool reproduced.

  2. Tess says:

    Politics aside…I mean REALLY…politics aside.

This guy is totally lacking in any kind of grace or civility.

  3. di butler says:

Wait a min-supposedly Palin knew nothing about their reunion and their tabloid interview. So now, Palin engineered it all? Someone needs to stuff this fool in a trunk somewhere and promptly forget it. Love or hate the Palins, nobody should have to deal with this little half-wit.

  4. Oi says:

Stop reporting on him please. Bristol is going on be on DWTS, so he naturally has to get his name out there again. He’s right up there with John Mayer for douche.

  5. Rex says:

He had credibility before? What a twit.

  6. LOVE ANGELINA says:

The boy doesn’t even have his GED and he is running for Mayor? OMG. I feel like such a fool. I actually thought that Bristol and Levi had reconciled. Now Bristol is doing DWTS even thought she isn’t a star, even a little bit, just another idiotic teen who got pregnant, and Levi is running around Hollywood. How come they aren’t taking care of their baby? How come he isn’t getting his GED? Ugh. Yea I am totally sickened by them all.

  7. Katalina76 says:

Whether or not he apologized, I still think that most of what he said about the Palins was probably fairly accurate. I believe he embellished, absolutely, but I still think he never flat-out lied. But I think this is one of those situations where it depends on which side of the political spectrum you’re on to decide who you believe.

  8. meme says:

i just want to bitch smack him upside the head. what a twat.

  9. Rita says:

This guy should have a giant “L” tattooed on his forehead and an old tampon hanging from his nose pierce. That’s the very best thing I can say about this thing.

  10. Samigirl says:

All of them are stupid. Uch. They drive me crazy.

  11. texasmom says:

Is anyone else reminded of that movie “Idiocracy”?

  12. lucy2 says:

    LOL Rita.
He’s so frickin stupid and gross. CBS News should be ashamed of themselves for even bringing him on. The only way he’s ever going to go away is if everyone ignores him and he has no options.

  13. xxodettexx says:

my only regret is knowing who everyone in this damn story even is

  14. Tess says:

    YES texasmom and lucy2.

We’re on the road to Idiocracy and the lame stream “news media” are leading the way.

    Sigh.

  15. john wilson says:

stop reporting on this un-educated white trash and perhaps he will just fade into the alaskan landscape

  16. jen says:

    CBS=See B.S

  17. aussieGal says:

I like Levi. At least he doesn’t pretend his intentions are honorable unlike the Palins.

The more he’s in the news, the more trashy that entire Alaskan clan gets, which means less chance that crazy ass bitch will ever get close to a position of power again.

  18. annaloo says:

Please put him on Dancing with the Stars.

    PLEASE!

  19. Jeannified says:

This guy is a complete douche…and I don’t even like Sarah Palin. Still, he’s a total mess!!!

  20. SammyHammy says:

He has to take off 3 years from Hollywood? I didn’t know he was IN Hollywood. Doing what? Parking valet somewhere?

  21. Jessi says:

Do people actually still get their news from CBS? I would hope not after seeing this.

  22. Alexa says:

I feel sorry for Levi. I really hope a decent soul will come along and mentor him/show him the light. If I’m remembering correctly, his parents didn’t have their acts together enough to provide Levi with appropriate nurturing and guidance. I don’t believe he realizes that he is being put out there as a laughing stock.

  23. Marjalane says:

It’s hard to believe this little shit had the balls to try and walk back his last piece of media bullshit- even harder to believe that C.B.S. is biased enough to give him a forum!

The media doesn’t even try and appear remotely balanced anymore.

  24. Eden says:

    @Kaiser
Funniest picture of Sarah that I’ve seen yet.

    Ok…I inexplicably like Levi.
He is an oaf for sure and sucking up every minute of the time he has in the spotlight but he’s 20 years old!!!.
I’m not sure that it’s not normal in this culture of celebrity to be his age and do what he’s doing.
    Unfortunately.

Sorry Sarah Lovers but the woman asks for this type of backlash with her inflammatory comments and hypocrisy.
I would feel exactly the same if she as she is, was affiliated with another political party.

Shoot me but I think he’s got a kind of dumb grace & courage for a boy barely out of teenage years who whether you like it or not,is famous as hell.
Politics IS a lot about people liking you and believing in you, he’s right on that count.
I can’t help it but I believe him more than I believe what comes out of the SP camp.
He’s a lot of things but I don’t get the feeling that he’s a sociopath.

  25. logan says:

SHUT UP. Lord let him speak when he has something relative to say-about anything.

  26. Leticia says:

He is too simple-minded to realize that he is being used to embarrass Sarah Palin. If he had gotten a democrat’s daughter pregnant, he wouldn’t be given this media platform.

  27. Jeri says:

Great picture of Sarah. I’m not a Levi fan but he isn’t doing anything Sarah & Bristol aren’t. He’s just doing what Sarah taught him.

  28. Levi should change his name to “Waffle”.

  29. jen says:

Even though Levi is a douche I still like him. I find it interesting that this site chooses to go after him and makes Bristol the eternal victim. She’s a slime and a hypocrite saying that she’s the one wanting a normal quiet life and Levi’s the one looking for the spotlight, and then what do you know look who ends up on “Dancing with the stars”. At least Levi’s always been upfront about wanting to cash in on his fifteen minutes. And to everyone out there judging him you know if you got to choose between logging or working on the pipeline or something to that effect you would try an make some big cash when you had the chance

  30. gg says:

    Good grief, what a maroon.

  31. debbie says:

He should go back to schtupping Kathy Griffin.

  32. Tazina says:

What’s he living off of? He hasn’t been in anything has he? Do any of these snowbillies even live in Alaska anymore or are they down here for good? Oh please no.

  33. Ph0s says:

@EMCYWNV – whatever you name is, can’t read it on this crappy format.

You think the picture of Palin is funny? I do as well, but I think it biased as usual on this site to get the most idiotic pictures of people that the blogger can’t stand – like M.Gibson for instance. You would think that guys face is frozen in various grimaces with jis hand shoved up a puppet beavers ass. The bloggers agenda is transparent as usual.

I ‘m not a lover of S.Palin by any stretch, but could you please enlighten us all on her hypocracies? Inflammatory at times, yes I agree – but she speaks her mind more coherently than this Levi douchebaggery.

Oh, and click-clack-boom. Did you a favor since you think this pile of dogcrap has even an ounce of grace or courage. Famous? More of just riding the Palin gravy train – because CBS loves anything negative on S.Palin, they will have him up any chance they can get. Liking and believing a politition is only a small part of campaigning – but based on your tard comments, I have no doubt you vote based on these ideas. You have the smarts of a sock puppet.

  34. Kelly says:

Leticia – you have no idea what you are talking about. A Democrat would have been slammed much harder. It’s amazing how the right have turned Bristol into a hero and actually pay her a lot to promote abstinence. Do you take advice on quitting drinking from an alcoholic.

Finally, can you imagine the uproar if President Obama marched on stage with his knocked up unmarried teenage daughter? Ghetto trash – welfare queen.

  35. Eden says:

    Ph0s

I think you were referring to me (Eden) based on some of the comments you made.

We agree that the picture of Sarah was funny.
It reflects the story that Kaiser is reporting from another source so it fit perfectly for me in this circumstance.
Sarah is actually a beautiful woman imo and I don’t forget that fact by looking at one hilarious picture.
I regularly see photos on this site of the handsome and sweet looking Mel Gibson so I don’t think it’s fair to say what you did. Not much reporting politically here so Sarah doesn’t pop up very much.

The fundamental hypocrisy of Palin’s that is most bothersome to me is that she uses her platform to regularly encourage and incite peoples deepest fears and is very divisive in behavior and word.
She has followers that believe her wholeheartedly and she knows this and uses her power for the opposite of good.
She preaches responsibility politically and personally and yet she is unbelievably irresponsible with her words and behavior.
You even agreed that she was inflammatory, THAT is being irresponsible.

Not sure what “click clack boom” means..but Levi IS famous. Everyone knows who he is, so technically that IS famous no matter how he got his fame.

I do think he has grace for a 20 year old.
Maybe you know more mature 20 year old’s than I do but I think he carry’s himself alright under the circumstances.

I also do believe that it takes courage to oppose a powerful political figure with his public exposure and telling of what could very well be truths.
While he has support for sure among her detractors, as you say, remember that he also has many many people that are rabid followers of hers who hate and despise him. Not to mention news outlets that support her agenda that insult and bash him at every turn.

It takes courage imo, for a 20 year old man/boy to put himself out under those lights and take the crap that comes at him.

Liking and believing in a politician is very important to me.
I don’t vote with my wallet(taxes etc..) or based on a strict party affilation.
I vote based on the person and what sense I get that they are honest and sane.
That actually covers a lot if you think about it.
Thank you for calling me a “tard” and saying that I have the “smarts of a sock puppet” (LOL, that was funny 🙂

That degeneration of your comment is exactly why I’m not ashamed to be a bit of an intentional “sock puppet” when it comes to political issues.
Perfectly nice people say and do things to other perfectly nice people that are cruel and petty.
I try not to let someone’s political views incite me to name calling and divisiveness, like you just did.
    And like Sarah does constantly.

  36. Eden says:

    @Ph0s

I may not have been clear about why I find Sarah a hypocrite.

She claims to love this country and want peace and strength for it and the people in it, but she consistently attacks and therefore undermines both the political leader of the country as well as the goodwill and inclusive philosophy that this country was founded on.
She (and Glenn Beck, Limbaugh etc..)does this with her hate mongering speeches, fear mongering usage of words, divisiveness in many of her beliefs and platforms that she stands on and constant invocations of a malevolent God.

    Sock puppet out.

  37. coup de grazia says:

riiiiiight, because you never mock people you read and write about on this site?

levi believes running for office has nothing to do with qualifications – well, there’s one he learned from sarah, you betcha!

  38. Statler says:

@Eden- Can’t agree with you on actually liking Levi, but what a graceful response.

I’ve noticed these ‘political’ posts seem to really bring out some bitter, nasty, and all-around emotionally unbalanced comments. Or, lately, even just a post about Sean Penn.

Edit: Apparently CBS is the devil too. And what a clever pun.

  39. Liana says:

He has to take off 3 years from Hollywood? I didn’t know he was IN Hollywood. Doing what? Parking valet somewhere?
    ***************

I was going to comment that I heard his bosses at the Hollywood Car Wash aren’t happy about giving him a three year leave of absence from his job as car dryer.

  40. Eden says:

    @Statler

Thank you and back at ya..
