This is totally a non-story, but Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise stepped out with Suri, Connor and Isabella today in New York City. We haven’t had new photos of Katie and Tom together in a little while, so it’s good to see them. Little Suri is hiding her face in these pics, unfortunately, and she’s still being carried everywhere. I love these photos because Katie is wearing heels for the outing, and I think Tom isn’t. I’ve been studying the photos where I can see his feet, and those sneakers don’t look like his special lift sneakers. Hey, the girl gets tired of always wearing heels, you know? He looked at Katie and was like, “Don’t be a bitch and wear heels today, okay? My lifts are killing my back.” And Katie was like, “I don’t really give a sh-t, Xenu.”
I’d just like to have a word on Tom’s height – I wish that it didn’t bother him so much, you know? He’s an attractive man, and the bane of his existence is falling in love (chuckle) with tall women, so why not just live with it? Why the lifts and “Xenu commands Mrs. Cruise to wear flats”? Maybe it’s just because I just re-watched Julie & Julia, but I love it when a short guy is with a tall(er) woman (Julia Child was big!). It’s kind of sexy. But Tom’s insistence on looking tall makes me think that he’s really neurotic about it, and that’s not sexy. Eh.

Connor is a cutie, Isabella is looking odd in that pic – I think it is the angle mixed with the shirt. I like TomKat, they make me smile. Though, I admit, at first I was like, “Oh, how cute – little Joey Potter landed Tome Cruise.” Now, I miss little Joey Potter, I guess she had to grow up sooner or later.
Praise – LOL, do they? I think they have a modest (for Tom) heel, but they aren’t as obvious as his old wedge heels.

There’s at least an inch or so lift on those, but agree it’s not as hilariously obvious as some of his other shoes.
I don’t know why it bothers him so much either, though I suspect there are a lot of things about himself that Tom just can’t accept and live with. 😉

I don’t think he’s ashamed of his height. If he was, he wouldn’t constantly date/marry tall women. I honestly think other people obsess over it more than he does.

What is with the Tom Cruise hate. I know that Scientology is a turn-off and granted the dig at Brooke Shields was all kinds of wrong, but he apologized and she forgave and I am pretty sure some of his fans have as well (I’ll admit it, he still gets my money for movies). All in all he is a family man, he treats his fans great and you never hear about abusing cast and crew on sets. So he’s short and has a neurosis, does that make him, dare I say, human. There a more stars out there that deserve it more, I’m just saying.
Conner is going to be a very handsome man one day. Isabella is cute but she is getting fat, I hope she learns to control her weight. Tom as always is very attractive. Kate is pretty but I wish she would stop making that smug look she does.

But Penelope Cruz wasn’t tall. At any rate, I’m six feet tall and all my life I have been approached more by ‘vertically challeneged’ men than by men my own height or thereabouts. The talls ones have the biggest hang up about it and are also always with the shortest girls. The short guys know we’re worth the climb! Besides, we’re all the same size lying down.

I think Tom Cruise is a great dad. I think he is a really great person to. I think Tom looks normal and comfortable. I could care less if he wore lifts or whatever. Women wear heels. If Tom wants to be taller so what? I love him.
My guess is that Suri didn’t get her way and is having a fit. Maybe they fought over what she is wearing–like Katie got to wear the heels but Suri didn’t. Her fit is why she is not looking at the camera.
I want them to be happy…must suck never to have privacy.

I’m not a huge fan of either, but to play devil’s advocate – maybe it’s her that’s self-conscious about her height? I’m 5’11” & my height is my one feature that I wish I could change – on one hand, I love being tall, but I don’t love sticking out like a sore thumb. Or have constant questions of, “wow, you’re TALL! Did you play basketball” No, I’m uncoordinated, thank you. It was always hard to date shorter men, & thankfully my soon to be husband is quite a bit taller, so it’s a non-issue. But I still rarely wear heels.
I can’t help but think, maybe it’s her issue & she wants to wear flats so she’s not taller all the time?
I like Isabella’s looks. She’s by far the most interesting looking one. And I pray that the rumers about how controlling and invasive scientology is are FALSE! I worry about Katie, Isabella, Connor and Suri. I even worry about Tom . . . I don’t think anyone signs up for being controlled via intimidation 24/7.
Well, Tommy Boy’s in his usual uniform: jeans and button down shirt untucked. Dinner with the fam, movie premier, it doesn’t matter — IT’S WHAT HE ALWAYS WEARS. It’s odd to me. He has the fattest thighs and Katie has the fattest calves. Great pair. I’d do Connor, well, in a few years.
@Praise St. Angie! – You called it. I too thought it looked like lifts in there. And whoever said Bella looks like a normal girl is right if normal = fat which in today’s world it sadly does. I will forgive her for the way she dresses because I think many teenagers go thru stages of looking horrible, I know my 13 year-old step-daughter is doing that right now. She is a beautiful girl, but feels it necessary to buther her hair and wear ridiculous makeup and clothes and I think many if not all of us have to go thru that stage, or how else do we learn what works and what doesn’t?

I feel bad for that girl. It’s one thing to be constantly followed as a celebrity, it’s another thing when you’re a kid of a celebrity. She didn’t ask to have famous parents. I would think it’s especially hard as a teen because everyone is so self-conscious then.
I can’t help it, I seriously dislike the guy. But the child being carried everywhere seems logical to me – I would not let my small child walk so closely to a bunch of over-excited, pushing and shoving paparazzi either.
