Star Mag: Is Catherine Zeta Jones pregnant?!?

starmag1

She’s not. Just FYI. Catherine Zeta Jones is not pregnant, and once you get to read this little excerpt, it’s such a dumb, unbelievable non-story, it’s a little ridiculous. According to Star’s sources, Catherine, who is…um… 41 years old (LMAO), really wants to have a “baby” with her husband Michael Douglas. Nevermind that Catherine and Michael already have two “babies” – their daughter Carys, who is 7 years old, and Dylan, who is 10 years old. Nevermind that Catherine is probably just concentrating on Michael’s treatment and health. No, let’s make it all about BABIES.

Catherine Zeta-Jones recently spoke about her desire to have more children with hubby Michael Douglas — and now, as the actor bravely battles Stage IV throat cancer, he’s ready to make her baby dreams come true.

In the Nov. 1 issue of Star, on sale now, we reveal that during an emotional heart-to-heart talk, Michael, who recently completed an eight-week course of chemo and radiation treatments, broke down as he told his wife — with whom he already has two children, Dylan and Carys — “that he wanted her to be able to have another baby with him more than anything,” an insider tells Star. As Catherine clung to her weak husband, “she couldn’t stop sobbing.”

For our full story about Michael and Catherine’s plans to expand their family — and how it’s made them hopeful about the future — pick up the new issue of Star today. Plus: Exclusive photos of the $5 million estate they purchased in tony Bedford, NY, which they’re using to “get away from it all.”

Just to play devil’s advocate, I wouldn’t be terribly shocked to learn that Michael perhaps saved some… uh… love juice. Like, maybe before he started chemo, he just decided to freeze some for a rainy day, and maybe he told Catherine that if she wanted it, she could have it. Other than that, I’ve got nothing.

Kirk Douglas used to make a lot of statements but I have not heard anything from him in ages, hope it isn’t because of his or Michael’s health woes. Of course Kirk is pretty far up there in age, maybe that’s why there hasn’t been any statements recently.

  2. Obvious says:

I would bet if this is true a surrogate will be involved. I still wish them all the best. I love them as a couple and separately and this is a horrible tragedy for everyone-especially his young children.

  3. December says:

They’re such a beautiful couple and compliment each other so beautifully, which few Hollywood couples can do nowdays.

Their struggle with this really breaks my heart, as their love for each other is real and not contrived to just get media coverage or “because they look good”.

It pisses me off that the media continues to use Michael’s cancer as a way to produce more crappy stories in order to make money.

It’s one thing to speculate rumors on someone’s marriage. It’s another thing entirely when somenoe is battling for their life with a very invasive and hard to treat cancer, especially one with family and who will be missed.

The tabloids truly have no shame.

  4. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

She’s more concerned about her husband, as I would be..

Well, last week he was changing his will..

    Leave em alone!

  5. k says:

    vultures

  6. Kim says:

His rep said he didn’t change his will. Also didn’t Star just claim he has months to live and is saying his Goodbyes”

  7. heathen says:

Thanks for the spec about the frozen sperm because as I was reading the story I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to uh, impregnant someone with chemo’d sperm.
I feel bad for him with the throat cancer and I’ve always liked her but if she’s 41 I’m 12!

  8. Eleonor says:

In this situation Star magazine should only STFU; this is nothing, it’s only a sort of “news” reported to put them on the cover again.

  9. Anti-icon says:

I saw this “story” a few days ago. This can’t be true, can it? With everything they have going on they would be considering new life; rather than the concerns that dominate end-of-life stuff and children in prison stuff? Cancer stuff? I have a lot of hip old relatives that have passed; and NONE were thinking about getting someone knocked up to perpetuate their legacy…..but I don’t live in Hollywood (thank you Jesus.) ; )

  10. Marjalane says:

    Sad. Icky, but sad.

  11. Kim says:

A rep for Michael says this story “is not true” I wish Star would leave this family alone- wishful thinking I guess

  12. mel says:

CZJ has more than things to worry about instead of worry about a baby.

  13. e-non says:

jesus, can’t these parasites leave this family alone.

  14. gg says:

Chemo kills all fast-growing cells in the patient’s body so I think getting pregnant would be either impossible or a very bad idea.

  15. Cari says:

Michael’s genes are pretty defective .
    Even before chemo and radiation.
Plus they are both way too old. Catherine is over 40 or 50 and menopausal and Michael is pushing 70. They already have one special needs child.
Plus she cant be bothered cooking for her own kids and smokes while pregnant.

  16. REALIST says:

gg is right. Even if the conception was successful, the embryo would likely not survive because of mutations from chemo originating from the father’s genetic material. Michael and CZJ are going through enough; can’t these tabs lay off a couple dealing with Stage IV cancer? Apparently not.

  17. Crash2GO2 says:

Is nothing sacred? Why do I even need to ask that question?

  18. grumbles says:

why does everything need to be cheapened like this? dont these people have enough to deal with???

  19. nnn says:

I may sound cynical but why are people shocked about this ? They did it with Patrick Swayze.

Tabloids have crossed a line 15 years ago already and blogs have take it evena notch further with the anonymity of critics getting meaner and meaner…we just have tolerated things, smearing campaign, critics over babies sexual orientation, ect…too much, too often, to long.

After the death of the Princess of Wales and the infamous seized pictures of an agonizing Diana cut up in the wreckage of the car, i though it will have put some sense in people and struck a nerve.

But people just like to overcriticize, dehumanize celebrities, denigrate, humiliate them, gloat about their misfortune like it’s no big deal, ect. consistently.

So of course the tabs will feed that cynical need we all have and will go further and further, and deeper and deeper into the obscenity, the unbearable, the unspeakable to shock us more…They will sensationalize every bit of horror, even if it means to create the horror just because day by day we gloat and criticize and put our values in the toilets, which show the bankrupt of any society in terms of morality.

We have crossed the line long ago as a sane society. We are all guilty of this dangerous deviant mediamongering we have eaten up like there is no tommorow, with no refrain whatsoever, without keeping it balanced and sane just to feed our ego and sense of superiority when the privilledged one fail and stumble…. and i am personally afraid that it’s already too late to get our minimum of sanity, morality back.

So the tabs will sensationalize more and more even when it touches the heart of our morality as a society, like death, children suffering, illness ect…because they know they have a consenting consumer group who can’t get enough of this.

Good luck with Michael’s family in their ordeal…they need some privacy in those times but won’t get it from the tabs until the end.

  20. Carrie says:

Friggin Star Magazine- leave this family alone!

I totally believe that celebrities sign on for the attention, and 95% of the time I believe that they deserve it, but not in this case- Michael Douglas is battling a very serious disease, and he, his wife, and his children should be off-limits during this time, period.

As for the baby rumor- come on! CZJ is dealing with a very sick husband and two young children, a stepson in prison, and probably quite a few career issues as well- the last thing she is considering is bringing a baby into the family.

  21. Malice says:

@ Cari WTF? Michael’s genes are defective? They have a special needs child? Since when?

  22. Cari says:

    @Malice

Just google ‘Michael Douglas special needs son’ (Dylan 10 years old).

It is all over the internet. They say dyslexic and autistic too, on some blogs.

  23. f/c 2010 says:

If she was pregnant it would be longer than 6 weeks and hubby only had 6 weeks of treatment so it’s possible and Kaiser do your homework.. the largest percentage of unplanned pregnancies happens to women aged 39-48 a friend just gave birth to twins a healthy girl and boy at the age of 49 so wake UP

  24. Catherine says:

@nnn Intelligently said. You should post here more often.
Their little girl looks so much like Michael in that photo.

  25. mystified says:

I too did not know until reading some of these posts that Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas have a special needs kid. As a special needs parent myself I like them a whole lot more now, because their behavior is beginning to make sense to me. I used to not like their attitude about wanting all of the perks of being a celebrity but not wanting to make themselves accessible. Now I think I know, in part, why they are so cagey. It’s hard to talk to people who don’t have special needs children about having a child with a disability because too often others assume that it was something you did that caused it: such as an unhealthy lifestyle, bad behavior during pregnancy, bad parenting or bad karma. Sometimes people simply have bad luck. I wish them the best.

  26. Mary Jane says:

She can’t possibly be 41 — she looks SO much older!

  27. badrockandroll says:

I have no idea how old CZJ is, and I have no idea where all the rumours about her age come from. I am probably older by a few years though. What I would like to know is why do people think that 40 plus is menopausal? And what does 41 look like, if she looks so much older than that? Even if she is 45, she looks pretty darn good, although she dresses old. We have pretty odd expectations about aging I think.

  28. TeeTee says:

they just can’t leave them alone while he tries to fight this huh??

shameshameshame but she is not 41, come on now.

  29. Anti-icon says:

#27: I had peri-menopause early–42-44; and then FULL and complete between 44-47; finished by 50. Apparently, this is a trend, just like girls who menstruate earlier (as I did). May be due to food supply; changing environmental climate—we just don’t know. Menopause is a challenge, physically and emotionally. I’m totally balanced now, without any synthetic hormones, all natural…as has kinda always been my way.

  30. Mrs Carter says:

God Forgives and Forgets Our Sins Once We Confess Them. Too Bad, ‘Professional Church Goers’ Don’t.

Mr Douglas Has Admitted That He Repeatedly Neglected His First Wife and First Child. He Has Admitted That He Repeatedly Cheated On His First Wife Sexually WIth Many Women: Even Her Best Friend Who She Caught With Him “In The Very Act of Sex”. He Confessed His Sins. He Is Ready To Meet His Maker When His Time Comes.

He Made Up For His Mistakes In His Second Marriage and His Youngest Children.

  31. hjsplit says:

Hey, maybe this is a bit offf topic but in any case, I have been surfing about your blog and it looks really neat. impassioned about your writing. I am creating a new blog and hard-pressed to make it appear great, and supply excellent articles. I have discovered a lot on your site and I look forward to additional updates and will be back.
