Charlie Sheen: “The story is totally overblown and overplayed”

To find out what we’ve got on Charlie Sheen so far, go HERE and HERE and HERE. But all accounts, Charlie spent Monday night in a haze of booze, cocaine and hooker sex until he began freaking out over a missing wallet. Then Charlie did what any normal man would do – he began trashing his hotel room, locked the naked, screaming hooker in the closet, and then passed out on the bed. When the cops found him, he started yelling slurs at them, and they threatened to take him jail. He ended up going to the hospital instead, although he was released hours later. So what does Charlie have to say for himself? Something along the lines of “It was just a normal day for me.”

Charlie Sheen has broken his silence about his crazed coke and booze binge with a prostitute that left him in a New York hospital early Tuesday morning. Speaking exclusively to RadarOnline.com, the Two and a Half Men star downplayed claims he trashed his posh room at The Plaza Hotel, in a frantic bid to find his wallet and cell phone after partying with a hooker.

“Oh my man, I’m fine,” he told RadarOnline.com’s Senior Executive Editor Dylan Howard, when asked about his condition after being carted off to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. “The story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario.”

Sheen spoke to RadarOnline.com via text message shortly after he arrived home in Los Angeles on a private jet Tuesday night. Earlier Tuesday, he had checked out of New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he underwent a psychiatric evaluation.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the Emmy nominated and Golden Globe winning actor was naked and out of control when cops burst into his trashed suite, next to the room where his ex-wife Denise Richards and their two young daughters – Sam, six, and Lola, five – were staying. He was found naked and in an altered state, according to cops.

Sheen told RadarOnline.com he had no plans to reveal exactly what happened in Room 1832: “I know what went down and that’s where it will stay… under wraps.”

The New York Police Department said Sheen, 45, appeared “intoxicated” and was reportedly offered a choice of hospitalization – or arrest. He chose the hospital. The woman, who was also naked, claimed she feared being attacked after the star went berserk following an argument and began screaming at her and throwing furniture.

Sheen’s ‘I’m fine’ declaration to RadarOnline.com followed claims from his own rep that the hell raising actor had an “adverse allergic reaction” to pills he’d been taking.

“Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital,” his publicist said in a statement.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said no complaints were made and there was no arrest. Sheen was not expected to face any criminal charges.

Sheen, who has admitted to using cocaine in the past and paying for hookers, had his meltdown just weeks after he spent 30 days in rehab following domestic abuse charges filed by his other ex-wife, Brooke Mueller.

He agreed to treatment as part of a plea deal to avoid jail after threatening to kill Mueller during a domestic violence incident last Christmas in Apsen, Colorado. Sheen, the highest-paid actor on US TV, is expected to return to work as soon as Friday.

[From Radar]

Yes, WE are the ones who overreacted. Of course. All of us fuddy-duddies who clutch our pearls whenever we hear about a cocaine-and-tequila binge that leaves a naked hooker howling in a barricaded closet. WE have the problem. Not Charlie.

By the ways, police sources say that Charlie admitted to cops that he had snorted a lot of cocaine before his freakout, and that he tested positive for coke while in the hospital. Charlie only had eight days left on his probation (the probation he got for choking his wife on Christmas!), so… yeah. He could conceivably go to jail for violating the terms of his probation. I doubt that will happen, but there’s still some legal and PR maneauvering to be done. And Charlie coming out and saying that the whole incident is overblown is the first step.

He’s got the Lindsay denial thing going on.

  2. devilgirl says:

    He disgusts me.

  3. Poopie says:

please quit using this photo of charlie in the fugly hat ! it’s burned into my retinas and i can’t see my computer screen!

  4. anoneemouse says:

I think the only thing “over blown” here was Mr. Sheen.

  5. lola says:

“overblown.” While i tend to agree, partly, i think he should have more accurately fessed up that he “overblew”

  6. Kitten says:

    STFU, Charlie, you smug bastard.

  7. Attagirl says:

What a disgusting excuse for a human being. It astounds me that he hasn’t been ostracized by Hollywood. His family have certainly distanced themselves and this should be a warning sign that under no circumstances should he be allowed to be alone with his children, or even be allowed to breed ever again.

  8. brin says:

    Yep….denial, that always works…lol

  9. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Bad show!

  10. Kitten says:

I’m hearing a lot of “he’s a mess but he’s a good guy” comments at work. I wonder if maybe people are confusing him with a character he plays on a TV show. What kind of a “good guy”(/FATHER) spends his money on hookers and blow?

  11. justathought says:

am i living on another planet? i thought hookers and cocaine were illegal! Funny, his show is called Two & 1/2 men when this guy isn’t even half of a real man.

  12. Riley says:

I heard on the Today Show this morning that he will not be going to jail because Aspen law officials claim they do not have the resources to investigate how he may of violated his probation. He could go to jail if the hotel wants to press charges but he will just repay the 20 grand and move on. Charlie Sheen is an abusive asshole and he needs to be locked away. You can tell from the pictures above that his coke habit is out of hand. He is really skinny and sweaty looking and that is just from getting out of a car. And Denise Richards needs to keep her children away from him until he is cleaned up. They do know what is going on. They may not say, Oh my daddy is a coke head, but they know he is fucked up.

  13. Anna says:

In his eyes it probably IS overblown; as drunk/high and out of control appears to be his natural state

  14. danielle says:

Yeah, an allergic reaction – TO COCAINE!

  15. Tia C says:

@ justathought: You nailed it. He is not even half of a real man.

I used to be a Charlie supporter, but I’m officially over it. He is disgusting. If I was a member of his family, I’d be mortified by his behavior. He needs to grow the F up already!

  16. Obvious says:

My only problem with the coverage of the story on this site is that according to police reports the naked hooker locked herself in the bathroom. he didn’t throw her in a closet-though that’s a much better place for her.

our poor poor Charlie. I’m think a hookup with LiLo will turn both of them around. See Charlie is what LiLo wants to be-do whatever her crackhead mind wants and get away with it. And LiLo is what Charlie may one day end up being-a coked out washed up former star.

    it’s a win-win.

:edit: @ jsutathought, her’es how it goes, Kid is 1/2 man and Jon Cryer is 2 men. that is all….i still do like Charlie and I hate myself for liking him. *le sigh*

  17. Rita says:

Come on people!! If Charlie went to Radar personally, you have to accept his account of this episode being overblown. His children were clear across the hall from his room after a family day in NYC. There was only one hooker locked in his closet and probably no more than five grams of coke in the room…most of which was ground into the carpet after some minor damage was done…which he will pay for.

Please lets be more understanding of how tabs overblow these things…it’s not as if he has a history of this sort of thing.

  18. Crash2GO2 says:

@Rita: erm…you’re joking right? Just checking.

Charlie Sheen is a drug addict who has fallen off the wagon in a big way. Probably when he is not on drugs he has some redeeming qualities. That is the problem with drug addicts and being in relationships with them, having them as fathers, husbands, children, etc. You hold on to the good person you know is in there somewhere and keep hoping. It’s pure hell really.

  19. Jazz says:

Teflon Chuck – what a douchebag.

  20. hairball says:

What I don’t get is how he continues to show his face at work as if nothing happened.

If I had to repeatedly show my face to my co-workers after all this, I would die. How does he stand there – and others stand there – talking about the weather when everyone knows he snorts cocaine, bones hookers, and strangles his wife??

How does exactly Charlie Sheen answer the “so how was your weekend” Monday work question??

    All enablers.

  21. Just a Poster says:

Well at least he didn’t say “Hey I was rufied!”

  22. OXA says:

I think that locking the hooker in a closet would count as kidnapping and shouldn’t he be arrested for that?
Charlie’s ego is out of control and he is a danger to others.

  23. icantbelievethis says:

@Rita OMG that made me laugh so hard.

  24. Jeri says:

Glad I’m not in his family for the holidays.

Hollywoods always had players & rascals & f/uped druggers but most hide it better than Charlie. Jack Nicholson & several others have always done their thing but seldom made headlines & didn’t harm others (that we know of).

Charlie needs some dignity and a rehab he can’t come & go from as he pleases.

  25. Kitten says:

@Rita-Lol @ “only one hooker in the closet”.
Hell, I think he may be on the mend! 🙂
    Way to better yourself, Chuckie!

  26. Madison says:

Addiction is an awful life long disease, he really needs to go back to rehab.

  27. Camille says:

He disgusts me and I hope (and wish!) he goes to jail.

  28. Meanchick says:

Uh, naked, hotel room, vandalism, drugs, prostitute locked in a closet? This story IS news, or old news in his case.

  29. Praise St. Angie! says:

Rita, you win. That was hilarious! The “only one hooker” line was brilliant.

    and hairball, this one…

“How does exactly Charlie Sheen answer the “so how was your weekend” Monday work question??”

    …made me laugh, too!

  30. Confuzzle says:

    According to TMZ, she’s not a hooker, she’s a porn star. 😆

  31. Anti-icon says:

If the latest prostitute/dealer/victim in this mess ends up with Alred as her attorney, and expecting some big payout….well, we’ve got to revolt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the meantime, when will Charlie Sheen even get real jail time. After he kills someone?

  32. Jerry says:

It’s one thing to be a coked out star doing your thing on a Monday night, but doing it with your kids next door – low dude! If he doesn’t care about his GIRLS, his own flesh and blood, you sure as hell know he doesn’t give a shit about his fans. He probably made some moves on Richards and she turned him down, which would be enough to send him on that ‘f-them’ binder, ugh – pathetic. I feel sorry for the girls, I really do. It’s obvious he only thinks about himself, and turns to drugs/drinking/whores when he doesn’t get his way – he had an allergic reaction to REJECTION! What a shmuck.

  33. cruiz2 says:

Hey, get your facts straight! TMZ has them. What’s his ex doing there – at all? Much more interesting angle. He’s a worthless piece…anyways.

  34. Jennifer says:

“All of us fuddy-duddies who clutch our pearls whenever we hear about a cocaine-and-tequila binge that leaves a naked hooker howling in a barricaded closet.”

    LOL kaiser hilarious

this entire thread was just too funny…what better material than getting caught with your naked hooker in a closet? oh, i know, throw in some cocaine and the ex-wife and kids (although that bit is really sad) and a trashed hotel room.

I can’t believe my mother watches his show faithfully, as do all of her friends.

  35. oeirjsljfss says:

    LOSER.
    LOSER.
    LOSER.

  36. Stronzilla says:

Let’s face it, the only thing that’s really been ‘overblown’ is Charlie, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Hopefully this time he’s ‘overplayed’ his hand and all that accumulated bad karma will find his address.

  37. Persistent Cat says:

    @Hairball, you made me laugh.

  38. Anti-icon says:

Well, the state of Colorado has folded in favor of His Royal Highness Charlie Sheen. Colorado puts people behind bars EVERY DAY for alcohol offenses. Why not a parole violation–straight to jail for Sheen in Colorado? I know Cali doesn’t want to put anyone in jail—but Colorado LOVES to jail anybody who uses illegal substances, beats on a woman, or violates probation, in ANY WAY. I know people who have gone to jail on a probation violation because they missed an alcohol class, and were EXCUSED. They still went to jail, until they could get a lawyer, pay a lawyer, go to trial. This is how justice works for US.

Shame on Colorado for not jailing Sheen on this SERIOUS probation violation.

  39. PrettyLights says:

At this point, he actually just cracks me up. Naked hookers, trashing hotel rooms, snorting blow… sounds like he wants to be a rock star. He’s just such a mess and doesn’t seem to care… but imagine how he feels when he wakes up with a nasty hooker beside him and a blow hangover. What a sad lonely life.

  40. Anti-icon says:

#39–a sad and lonely life that will be felt by the innocent children he drags into every mess of an enabler he encounters. Remember, there’s innocent children involved. And CBS should fire his ass TODAY. What is their problem?????

  41. cruiz2 says:

    Holler to Anti-icon,

AZ sounds like CO plus more!
