Hmm. How would Star have the first clue on whether or not they’re having a pre-nup? It’s not anyone’s business. Good for them either way.

They look really happy together, good luck ladies.

This is not wise, didn’t we read on celebitchy a while ago that there was trouble in this particular paradise? I hope they reconsider because I don’t have much hope for this union just like most tinseltown unions.

Here is a question? Remember the weddings that were performed before in CA. Now that the supreme court over turned the ruling that made those unions illegal. Are those former marriages now legitimate in CA?

Also, I know there might be an addendum to the ballot in CA about whether or not same sex marriage should be legal. What happens if that if the addendum should fail and the people of the state vote that you shouldn’t have same sex marriages? Will the new marriages still be valid?

With my question out there, I think everyone should be able to marry. As long as both people are of legal age and are not related. Everyone should have the same rights.

Good luck to the happy couple, I have always thought Portia to be lovely. Ellen seems like a nice person and she deserves happiness after having to deal with all the Anne Heche baggage.

I do think a pre-nup would be a good idea though. might not be romantic but people getting a divorce seldom are.

Regardless of how the people of California vote in the upcoming election, the marriages issued between now and November will still be valid. That is, the state cannot retroactively disvow the rights of legally married gay couples.
I would take it to mean that the original marriages performed in Cali are still valid – that the measure did not strip couples of their status but prevented others from enjoying the same legal rights – but I don’t know for certain.

    Congrats to the happy couple!

No prenup- recipe for later disaster. Ellen, you trusting fool.

  8. Alarmjaguar says:

Actually, the earlier marriages (those performed in SF when the mayor okayed the issuing of marriage licenses to same-sex couples) were invalidated. I don’t remember the details, but my uncles got married that time around and said they would have to get remarried for it to be legal now.

  9. Ron says:

Prenups aren’t romantic. They are smart.

  10. Kristin says:

They look so happy, so glowing. They are very lovely and you can tell they care deeply about each other. Congrats to them! :]

    CHA-FUCKING-CHING!

  12. janics21_laine says:

    well, they look good together…
nd no doubt that they are happy with each other…. even if thre is no pre-nup, they can still get married ryt…. 🙂

  13. Jaundice Machine says:

Right on, AJ – I wasn’t sure about the previous marriages, but I know there are legal safe guards set into place that will preserve the integrity of the unions today.

  14. Nan says:

Wow, I never thought Portia was hot. I always thought she was a bleached hair makeup job. Age is so proving that to be true.

  15. sallysitwell says:

    Aw. It’s America’s favorite lesbians!

(But seriously, everybody should get a prenup, even if you’re dirt-poor. Divorces can get dirty.)

  16. RK says:

Portia and Ellen both looked gorgeous, but it’s a shame Proposition 8 came into play.
