Lindsay Lohan allegedly “refuses” pain killers for oral surgery

fp_6046414_lohan_lindsay_fp4_111110

As we’ve previously noted, Lindsay Lohan’s crack hustle worked, and she was given a “work pass” from rehab so that she could meet with producers and crew for Inferno. But did you also now that she had oral surgery? She did, according to Radar. And when the dealer dentist offered to give her the motherload of drugs, Lindsay sat primly and whispered “No.” So say “sources.” But I have a different theory that I’ll talk about in a sec.

Photos surfaced on Thursday of Michael Lohan peering inside Lindsay’s mouth and it’s because the actress had dental surgery and is refusing to take painkillers, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.

“Lindsay had tooth surgery this week,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. “She had teeth removed and won’t even take any painkillers for the pain.”

According to the insider, Lindsay is so dedicated to the rehabilitation of her substance abuse problems she’s doing everything she can to stay on track – quite a difference from just 5 months ago when the starlet had her wisdom teeth removed and took the powerful painkiller Dilaudid to deal with the pain.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lindsay has been at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California since September where she’s been undergoing treatment for cocaine addiction.

“She’s taking her time at Betty Ford very seriously,” the source said.

The 24-year-old Mean Girls actress reunited with her father Michael this week for the first time in seven months when the two were spotted shopping at a local Palm Desert mall, and Wednesday at a movie theater.

This is the troubled starlet’s fifth time in a rehab facility, but insiders tell RadarOnline.com that Lindsay and her family are hopeful that her time at Betty Ford is doing the trick.

Here’s what I think – I think this “work pass” came at a very convenient time for Lindsay, it came at a time when she knew she would ALREADY have drugs in her system from oral surgery. Yes, I am a hater, but as a gossip blogger, I feel like I’ve been dealing with Lindsay’s neverending crack drama, crack hustle and crack lies for YEARS. At this point, I can see the crack hustle before it is upon me. So I don’t think Lindsay “refused” the drugs. I think she took whatever prescription she was offered, and then got her “work pass” and is probably snorting a line right now. Just my theory.

Also a theory: the Betty Ford Clinic is not giving her “lip injection passes”. Her lips are going back to normal. Although there is no normal in this cracked out family.

    Ok James Frey.

Thank God I haven’t had to battle addiction because no way on Earth my teeth are getting touched without pain killers. That’s just cruelty. I once had a root canal and was under drugged and had PTSD for years!

  2. bellaluna says:

Dude, how many teeth are in her mouth? Is there a Crack-Head Shark of which I’m not aware?

  3. Praise St. Angie! says:

lips still look puffy to me…but I think that she got implants and the initial swelling went down.

what teeth would she have removed?! didn’t she already have her wisdom teeth out and that’s when she got that super strong painkiller that’s really only for stage 4 cancer patients?

are her teeth so rotted that she had to have some pulled?

  4. heb says:

….she sure has had a lot of teeth removed lately…is she having them out one at a time??

  5. Carrie says:

I read the statement from the “source” (Dina, obviously) and called bullsh*t immediately- addiction as deep as Lindsay’s doesn’t go away after 5 weeks.

I know that she and her mother want us all to think that she is completely cured and different, but let’s not forget this is her FIFTH time in rehab- and she is only there because of a court order. So let’s not break our hands applauding her recovery.

  6. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

NO WAY I WOULD HAVE ANY DENTIST TOUCH MY MOUTH WITHOUT DRUGS!!!

    I concur.

  7. Madisyn says:

Who in the f uck does she think she’s kidding?

Alllll aboard . . . the Dilaudid train: Choo choo!

  8. Ruby Red Lips2 says:

    Totally agree Carrie

I also think Dina thinks Lindsay is worth more in terms of tabloid fodder when she’s not sober so am convinced Diina will be offering Lindsay the white powder soon after she leaves rehab

  9. serena says:

oh good, no more ducky lips!

  10. Chris says:

It’s not a relapse if you take pain killing medication for medical purposes. Just as taking prescribed anti-depressants isn’t a relapse.

The trouble with your theory, Kaiser, is that drug tests not only detect if a person has taken drugs but they can also tell you what drugs they’ve taken. So the medication given to Lilo by the dentist wouldn’t mask coke use.

  11. Lady D says:

I found a dentist that can put you under, but without the side-effects of anesthesia. You are good to go 10 minutes or so after the dentist is done, including driving or physical activities. It’s $275 at a time but worth every single flipping penny!!!

  12. Jenna says:

why has she not invested in veneers?! her teeth are nasty!

  13. original kate says:

who the hell does she think she’s kidding? this chick would pop dilaudid to open her mail.

  14. Riley says:

Without a stylist her clothes really suck.

  15. dread pirate cuervo says:

I don’t think she had any oral surgery. I think WO planted this to make it seem like LiLo is making wise choices.

  16. ziggy says:

she doesn’t need veneers, just a good cleaning..sheesh!!!

  17. di butler says:

Some of ya’ll don’t understand serious opiate addiction. It’s not just meth that wrecks your teeth. It basically causes them to crumble. The fact she keeps having teeth removed/fixed tells me she has had a bad addiction for a looong time. This usually takes a while to build up.

  18. Anti-icon says:

Now she’s ripping her tabloid leaked stories directly from James Frey’s memoir. Remember, the guy that Oprah pounded on live TV for being a fraudulent liar. Now Lohan is using HIS LIES as HER OWN LIES, as she currently takes recovery.
Yeah, she’s having some real growth experiences at Betty Ford.

  19. Shelley says:

I’ve had wisdom teeth pulled under Novacaine only; one was infected but I took an antibitoic for 3 days beforehand. There was no pain during the procedure of course and minimal afterward – all I needed was Advil and believe me I’m not into suffering. There was just very little pain. Ditto a root canal I had done. I was 52 when I had my wisdom teeth removed and the process would only be far easier on someone as young as LL due to the tooth-youth 😉 – that is, the wisdom teeth come out much more easily and with much less trauma in someone this young.

  20. Johnthing says:

How much oral surgery does a girl that age need? Are her teeth tha bad?

  21. gg says:

I thought addicts in rehab were not allowed to take opioids; i.e., they don’t ask you if you want them, they just don’t give you any because they know you’re an addict.

  22. Meanchick says:

There’s no way I believe that she had mouth surgery w/o painkillers!

  23. Darla says:

There are really good drugs out there, but none of them are good enough that I would have dental surgery just to get them. I need Dilauded just to get in the damn chair and listens to that SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE of the drill.

    *shudders and gets a tequila*

  24. The Truth Fairy says:

Why is a 20-something girl having teeth removed??? And this isn’t the first time.

  25. skeptical says:

    more dental surgery?
just how screwed up did her teeth get?

  26. Innocent says:

I think she didn’t take them because she knows she could relapse and until February 25th if she drinks or does drugs she is facing 180 days in jail.
Prescription drugs could lead to more drugs or even drinking.

Obviously when she goes on the photoshoot when she returns she will be tested.

  27. Churchston Winsthill says:

Please. This story is as fake as Dina’s face. The idea behind this silly lie is to show the world how brave little Lindsay is “serious” about her “recovery”, with her refusing drugs after a dentist visit as “proof” that she’s taking her sobriety “seriously”. Plenty of people have dental work done without being handed bottles of potent opiates, there’s nothing heroic or brave about it unless they had to chisel away part of her jawbone or something which appears unlikely. This phony story is just a plant meant to rehab her damaged image and maybe get her some paying work, as by now her mooching family is probably pretty hard-up for cash with their meal-ticket being out of commission for so long.

  28. MyCatLoves TV says:

Don’t forget her malnutrition and (what appeared to be a few years ago) eating disorder. Whether it is just starving yourself (just?!?) or forcing your food back up…..your teeth take a terrible beating.

Everybody is unique. Just because Person “A” can go thru a root canal or extraction with minimal pain does not mean Person “B” will be so lucky. Something about this story doesn’t ring true. I just don’t buy this holier than Thou story of LL refusing medication after dental surgery. She rec’d drugs from her dentist last time that you and I could NEVER get under those same circumstances. And now she wants us to believe she is just toughing it out? Truly a “bitch, please” moment if I ever saw one.

  29. Karin says:

Bloody hell – I have had “oral surgery” before and didn’t have anything more than the Novocaine shot(s). This was major surgery too folks, bone was removed from the jaw and everything. So Lohan isn’t taking pain killers. Big freaking deal missy – you didn’t need them in the first place.

  30. Shelley says:

@Karin, exactly. You and I’ve had major work done with no need for major drugs afterwards. Novacaine is very powerful and covers most InOffice surgery or other work; there are light anathetics too of course. But for pain relief afterwards, Advil should more than suffice. So LL isn’t making some “I’d rather suffer than take drugs” statement – she just knows she isn’t going to need them anyway. Or she already has them, and/or this story is one made-up mess.

  31. hildogg says:

umm thats interesting…girlfriend must have a lot of teeth issues…because if i I recall when she went to jail in the summer she was on dilaudid (very strong) for oral surgery…and why would she just now be getting her wisdom teeth out…girlfriend is 24…oh and like 2 years ago she got oxycontin for either a broken arm or her teeth can’t remember…i call bs

  32. Meghan says:

Hey now, I’m 23 and have had 3 non-wisdom teeth removed. I have terrible teeth, thanks to my father and to the sheer amount of Cokes I drink. So it’s possible for a 20-something to be getting a lot of teeth removed! Then again, my extractions were spaced at least a year apart.

  33. bitca says:

@ di butler: my pet theory about why addicts lose teeth @ the rate of 1st-graders/or have mouths that simply look like cr-p: it is not the drug per se, they’re just far too wasted to bother w/oral hygiene, & appear to subsist on sugary junk-food. Also: back in the day? Never, ever saw a hard-drugs user brushing—& as for floss? What’s that?

But am totally behind any statement that drugs make teeth crumble, destroy one’s complexion, whatever—cause however it works? The bad stuff *somehow* contributes to Scary Mouth & Face Syndrome.

Granted, the strange case of Jessica “I go days w/o brushing” Simpson & her Operation Smile Conspiracy remains an enigma wrapped in a mystery.

  34. Paul E. Stanley says:

    @Churchston Winsthill

I with you this one. You hit the nail on the head.

  35. Churchston Winsthill says:

To be clear, it’s not to imply the dental work and/or issue is fake, just the whole refusing the drugs part. It’s such an obvious PR stunt. “Look everyone, Lindsay turned down totally legit meds from a real doctor! My how she has grown during her rehab”.

And obviously she looks better, she’s not out partying like a madwoman every night until 5am anymore. Let’s see what happens when she’s unsupervised.

  36. Jag says:

She had teeth removed at her age? Wow she is a total crackhead, isn’t she?

@ Meghan ~ You might want to reconsider all those Cokes, or at least drink water in-between and make sure to use the softest toothbrush you can find, as well as a restoring mouth rinse after you brush. Teeth are important for things like jaw position, as well as eating, and believe me, you don’t want to have to have TMJ surgery down the road because of your teeth. (I had 6 hours of open TMJ surgery just from TMJ, not my teeth. Not fun.)

  37. Kay says:

I always have work done without drugs. It’s no biggie.

  38. AJ says:

Perfect teeth are boring. Linds has cute teeth, but not as cute as Bijou Phillips (even if she is stupid) bit.ly/bcpy4P

  39. paranel says:

She refuses “pain killers” and then leaks the news to media ? Is she looking for a reward or ….? The girl will not abandon her old habits for long, you wait and see. Nothing has or will change.

  40. Gravy Train says:

    “Land Shark”

  41. Aud says:

I had half a wisdom tooth and half a molar pulled. They shot me up with Novocaine, wiggled em out with a hook, and told me to take aspirin if it hurt. I didn’t get squat

  42. Leah! says:

gg- This seriously happened to a family member when in rehab, because I talked to them that week. A lady had to get a tooth pulled or something, refused the pain meds, and they gave her Advil and stuff instead when she got back. He said she was actually okay, other than the obvious swelling.

My point is, if one had to get a medical procedure, SOME places (I don’t know about all!) would definitely let one have meds. I’m sure there would some major supervision involved, but yeah.

  43. abby says:

Over the summer, I had to have a root canal done. I have a HUGE fear of the dentist, so he gave me a rx for ativan to take before the procedure. I don’t know if they gave me any novocaine (my mouth was not swollen after, so I don’t think they did), but I was very relaxed and calm for it. I definitely would not be able to do that unless I had something before. Thank heavens I’m not an addict!

And after it was done, even though I had a rx for vicodin, I didn’t need anything.
