LeAnn Rimes brags to the tabloids that she spent $20k on Eddie and Brandi’s boys

fp_6250829_rimes_cibrian_fp
This week’s In Touch has a very pro-Leann Rimes story. It still makes her seem like a desperate stepmom to her boyfriend Eddie Cibrian’s two sons, Mason, 7, and Jake, 3, from his marriage to Brandi Glanville. According to In Touch, LeAnn spent around $10,000 on each child buying them an insane amount of expensive gifts for Christmas. LeAnn has denied this on her Twitter account, tweeting in response to the question “did you really spend 20k on the kids for Xmas?” that “People are delusional!!! Where they come up with this BS I will never know.” The story is very positive toward LeAnn, though, and sounds straight from her camp. Here’s In Touch’s report:

LeAnn Rimes played Santa Claus for her boyfriend Eddie Cibrian’s two young songs, Mason and Jake. According to a friend, LeAnn splurged this Christmas, spending a fortune to make sure the boys had everything they asked for – and more. “LeAnn bought them just about anything you could think of – matching electric cars, practically every appropriate video game, a ping pong table, games, clothes, books, and so much more,” a friend says. “She must have spent more than $10,000 on each kid. She loves them and wants to spoil them.”

[From In Touch, print edition, December 27, 2010]

This sounds just like LeAnn. She can’t stop tweeting about those boys and acts as if they’re her own. She would try to buy their love with a bunch of toys and video games and I could easily see her spending $10k on each of them for Christmas. Just wait – she’ll tweet a photo of the presents under the Christmas tree and they’ll be piled several feet high. It’s probably “B.S.” that she spent $20,000 on presents because the total was much higher than that.

This may be the first time I’ve ever said this about her. But, she actually looks really nice in those shots of her performing. I like her look with the navy dancer guys. The classic little peep toe heels look good on her.

As for her buying outrageously expensive Christmas presents? Meh, who didn’t expect that? Oh, and where do I sign up to be her next step kid? I’ll be lucky if anyone spends $20 on me this year, let alone $20,000!

  2. brin says:

You got that right, CB….she spent much more, I’m sure and that’s why she called it “BS”…lol. When will she learn you can’t buy someone’s love.
@DetRiotgirl…hope you have health, love, family, and friends….that’s what matters most.. hope you have a Happy Holiday.

  3. guesty says:

    she so did…

  4. Jezi says:

Of course she denies it. Her tweets are so scripted. Everytime a story comes out she follows it up with “where do they come up with this stuff?” “The media lies”, “I know the truth”, “Haha, it’s so laughable, I just don’t know who their credible sources are, certainly no one I know would say that.” It’s become such a joke between all of us tweeters. I do believe the story, and I agree, she probably spent either just under $20,000 or maybe a bit over. She would do anything to outshine the mother of those boys. One day she will learn, you can buy kids everything their heart desires but it will never replace their mother’s love. But of course, all Leann knows how to do is buy love.

  5. Jayna says:

I don’t believe it for a nanosecond. They’re little. Stuff for that age isn’t like buying for a tween/teen. It’s easy to overspend and buy a ton of great stuff and not spend over 2,000 each and still be plush with the gifts.

LeAnn looks great in that army green dress with the shoes.

  6. fanny says:

It’s not difficult to spend 20k these days, especially when you’re as rich as she is. It’s not that big a deal. I love the shot of her and the sailors. Very cute.

  7. DetRiotgirl says:

@Brin Don’t worry, I do! I already had a mini-Christmas with my out of state family, and I’m sure I’ll have a great time on Christmas day with my boyfriend and my cats. I’m just saying, I wouldn’t be unhappy if Leanne sent me a new PS3 to go under my $20 plastic Charlie Brown looking Christmas tree. Lol, happy holidays to you too, btw! 🙂

  8. brin says:

@DetRiotgirl…That’s the spirit! I love my Charlie Brown tree!

  9. Jo says:

Guilt will do that.. Donkey Face.

  10. Carrie says:

Funny when it comes to LeAnn,everything ‘negative’ the press writes about her is total truth, but when it’s something ‘positive’,it’s all lies and LeAnn must have paid them to write it.People should be a bit more critical when it comes to believing everything they read.Who on earth considers ITW a total reliable source on everything?I guess people just choose to believe it,when they don’t like the celebrity?LeAnn doesn’t have to pay a single dime for good press. Her and Eddie clearly has their own supporters(writers) working for sites like X17 and People.com to do it for them.

  11. deb says:

@jezi I agree. Also the PR sheep parade is predictable

  12. Jezi says:

@Carrie you don’t think Leann pays People Mag & X17? Those are all fluff pieces. Spending $20,000 on children is ridiculous, it’s not positive press. In fact it makes her look just as desperate as ever. Let’s spoil these children so that they can be just as entitled as their father and the girlfriend who bought him.

  13. polkasox says:

Cause that makes perfect sense, drop insane amounts of money on them now, & when you’re washed up & they need college money, you’ll be flat broke. Genius.

  14. Maddie says:

Well I hope she knows that Judge Judy won’t be getting that w0 grand back when she and Eddie hit the skids.

  15. Rita says:

Just in time for Christmas, derision comes in song.
Contemptible the Grinch may be, but never is she wrong.
Plants this story to stay “In Touch”, this one of 20 G’s
Crazy Women see what they want, beneath their Christmas trees.

The hearth is lit, the Eve’s begun, the table set just right.
Family’s close as children laugh and carols fill the night.
It’s everything she wanted; this moment oh so grand.
Engagement waits in Mexico, exactly as she planned.

The night has fallen hard, in a home not far away.
Quiet her companion, with no children there to play.
Staring at the phone, she just wants to hear their voice.
Without a number, no call is made, she doesn’t have a choice.

A loathsome man betrayed her, taunted by twitter whores for years,
In the hollow of the darkness, she privately held her tears.
But waste your sympathy not on her, ‘cause pity she’ll reject.
She’s been through hell, still standing strong and deserving of respect.

    Lest we forget.

  16. brin says:

Well said, Rita (who knew you were so good at poetic justice?).

  17. Jezi says:

That was awesome Rita. I love it.

  18. Henriette says:

I’m disgusted when celebs spend huge sums on gifts, but Britney was attacked by lots of gossipers when she shopped for her sons’ Xmas presents at Walmart as being cheap and stingy.

  19. Carrie says:

My point was to not believe everything you read and clearly it all comes down to whether the celebrity is well liked or not.Lets take another example. The story about Johnny Depp hitting on some model.People are immediately screaming BS.Of course they are. He’s a familyman and most people like him.And just because of that the story HAS to be false and how DARE anyone think otherwise.LeAnn is pretty much hated by the public.Everything reported about her that is considered negative HAS to be true.Because you don’t like her and so badly want it to be. So just because someone writes a fluff piece,it means it’s not true? It’s only supposed to be negative, negative, negative? No,I don’t really think she pays for good press. What’s the point? She knows it doesn’t help her image regardless.Do I know for sure she doesn’t?No,but neither do you or anyone else on this board.

Also,Karen Salkin from People.com has written a long ‘rant’ on the situation, saying that while she feels sorry for Dean and Brandi, she totally supports LeAnn and Eddie and their relationship. She also tells people to let it go and stop judging someone they don’t know personally.Sounds like support to me.

  20. Michaela says:

Off Topic – but it appears the sailor in the two photos is Benji from the first season of So You Think You Can Dance.

  21. deb says:

    @ RITA AWESOME RITA AWESOME

  22. brin says:

    Do they make Falcor toys?

  23. Jezi says:

@Carrie D-List celebs often pay for their media exposure.

@Michaela yes, Benji choreographs her dance numbers.

  24. fanny says:

Rita … that is a brilliant poem. I’m glad you shared it. One person’s happiness gained by another’s misery clouds everything.

  25. Carrie says:

Whatever floats their boat.I’d still say she doesn’t have to.Her relationship with Eddie gives her more exposure than she’s ever gotten before in her entire life. His too.

  26. deb says:

Exposure with smugness can be a double edged sword, so can vomiting tweets non stop.
    Hows those careers coming along?

  27. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

“She loves the kids and wants to spoil them.” the part they left off was

So she can buy their love, just like she did with Daddy.

  28. Jezi says:

@Carrie Her exposure isn’t positive exposure. People don’t think aaawww they are such a wonderful couple who deserve happiness. Well except for a few of her fans. Most people think they both are vile human beings. Her music sales and concert success shows how people really feel about her.

  29. JJ says:

    Rita,

Awesome and so true. Have enjoyed reading your comments and fully expect SnowGlobe Queen to give us plenty to chatter about in the new year. Happy holidays!

  30. bluhare says:

#28 (sorry can’t read your name; my screen has it jumbled up with the number): I could not believe it when one of the local casinos in our area was advertising her appearance there in November. It isn’t even the biggest casino in the area. I was amazed that’s the venues she’s playing.

  31. Jennifer says:

Not attractive at all in those pics, especially that gold dress with the black shoes.

She will never be able to replace Brandy no matter how much she spends. One day, the boys will find out just who their stepmom is and how she (along with their father) mistreated their real mom.

    Brilliant poem, Rita!

And yes, Jezi, I make sure that no LR music/television is on around me, my family, or my friends. We are all aware of her selfish, evil ways.

  32. Jezi says:

@bluhare that was me, yes, she plays small venues and even has to cancel them because of low ticket sales. Or because she has to follow Eddie around like a puppy. It can go either way.

@Jennifer I still haven’t heard Swingin or Crazy Women or whatever the name of the song is. I refuse to even give it airtime.

  33. why? says:

    Kaiser,

Leann has ALREADY posted photos of ALL the gifts she bought those kids and EC.

I think she did that like two weeks ago.

She wonders where In Touch could get a story like this, well let’s see, they got it from LEANN.

Does she not understand that twitter is a public forum and it’s useless to even deny a story like this, when she made over 100 posts about the presents just 2 weeks ago?

  34. why? says:

    Carrie/ Jayna

We can believe this story because it is supported by Leann’s very own tweets and the twitpics of those gifts she that she posted just two weeks ago. It was Leann who was going on and on about the gifts that she bought “her family” and now she wants to get mad because her own TWEETS worked against her?

No one believes Leann because she has time and time again showed herself to be a liar. Like the lie about not ever shopping at Rite Aid in Calabasas, yet there were photos of her doing that. The lie about being hounded by the paps, and the media called her out on that.

When you say reliable source, do you mean People mag?

Leann does pay for positive press. This story isn’t about the kids, it’s about LR trying to clean up her image so that she can sell that single of hers. Is anyone at all surprised that this story comes out 2-3 days before she is giving that concert and just days before her single is set to be out? So once again this is an attempt to use those kids to hype up her career.

  35. Jezi says:

She wrote “just the beginning” with another pic and this one. I’m sure it was…lol.
    http://yfrog.com/mshg90j

  36. why? says:

    Carrie

Leann is not the victim. Leann is “hated” by the public because she just keeps doing the wrong thing.

Everything negative about LR is true because that is the standard that Leann has established. The proof is in Leann’s own twitpics and tweets.

Of course you don’t think that Leann pays for good press, you are doing damage control. We know that she pays for good press, just look at how she got a Grammy nomination for a song that flopped horribly just a week after Life and Style wrote that article about how LR career was dying because of her actions with EC.

People mag is one of Leann’s mouthpieces, so we can not trust a thing that they say. Of course they want people to move on, with all of this backlash against LR and EC People mag is afraid that they will lose money if they print the exclusive of LR and EC engagment/wedding. People will move on when LR moves on. As long as LR tweets and tips off the paps, she will get backlash.

Leann did this to herself, she has had every chance to lay low, but it looks like her need to make everyone believe that EC loves her is more important.

  37. Jeri says:

I don’t think the kids will complain.

  38. Eileen says:

Yeah while Brandi sits home alone for the SECOND year in a row because EC screwed her out of another Christmas, she gets to see on f-ing Twitter what her boys will be doing with a lady who wants to phase her out, and she can’t even call while they are there because she still doesn’t have their phone number…that’s just not right!

  39. brin says:

For all of Leann’s “I love Christmas, I love giving to others” babble, she sure seems like a taker to me.

  40. Jezi says:

I was also wondering, what’s with this party she had last night? I’m sort of questioning whether or not it even existed. I mean sure we got a pic of her and Eddie all dressed up, of course a camera pic that he took of them two, we saw the table set up, but then she was tweeting non-stop during the actual party. She also took time out to call one of her fans. She also called it a early night by 8:30 pm. I don’t understand how a party with your “dearest” friends could end so early. Not to mention, when I’m out with family and friends, I’m not tweeting other people. All these so called parties she has, we never see pics of anyone but her and Eddie. It just makes me think about how real these parties are.

  41. brin says:

@Jezi…Yeah,she tweeted a picture of the table setting but no guests. Maybe her closest friends are imaginery.

  42. betty says:

@Jezi It must have been a party for children because most adults do not arrive before 8:30. They like her because she buys them things. She will learn she will never replace their mother no matter what she buys. She is really pathetic when she feels she has to buy affection. She can never show Brandi up because she is the mother and she does not have to buy their love
. Leann is not called “Sugar Mama” for nothing.and thats exactly what she is to them.

  43. Rita says:

    @Betty
The party was for LeAnn’s “closest friends”, her words not mine. Obviously, her cooking gave everyone gas (or worse) and they left immediately after dinner.

More importantly, did you see usweekly which picked up the story from TMZ about Brandi’s DUI? This “news” is 2 months old and written negitive towards Brandi. Obviously, LeAnn targets Brandi with any bad news she can when the tabs hit LeAnn as they did on this $20G spending crap.

LeAnn pushes anything negitive about Brandi to divert bad news from herself. It happens every time so keep this in mind. LeAnn wanted the tabs to pick up her tweets about buying Eddie eatable underwear but none of them bit (no pun).

Because LeAnn’s PR crew will read this, I want them to tell LeAnn that she can have a pair of my hubby’s pee encrusted underwear, if she’s so desperate for the taste of a man.

  44. icantbelievethis says:

    I want $20,000 in presents.

  45. dahlia47 says:

Well if she did spend that much and didnt brag about it then cool. What can she say to this question though? did u really spend that much? She’ll look bad whichever way she answers.

  46. why? says:

Leann did brag about it, she did that when she posted twitpics of the gifts that she bought.

What can LR say? How about not post photos of the gifts on her twitter page and then cry about how the media outlets are writing lies.

Leann looks bad because she just doesn’t know when to stop or leave well enough alone. Did she really need to post photos of her and EC dinner party, which she probably did to fuel rumors that it was an engagement party. It is strange how Leann says that she has this great life and yet we have not seen her enjoying it because she is always on twitter. Britney Spears has over 6 million followers and I went to her page to see how much she tweets. I was surprised. She doesn’t tweet as much as Leann does and she doesn’t even give out every detail of her life the way that Leann does. It’s like
LR thinks that EC “love” for her isn’t real unless it is seen and heard.

  47. why? says:

The edible underwear were probably for EC other mistress.

  48. Crash2GO2 says:

Nice poem Rita, but eh…why is this still all about the women? Eddie was the one who cheated on Brandi. Period. As a woman, I’m not buying into the ‘oh let’s just sit back and let the cats fight it out over us’ thing that men do after they wreak their havoc. He could have said no to LeAnn after all.

  49. brin says:

@Crash2GO2…Eddie’s not getting a pass, he’s a spineless, unemployed pig, but Leann is the one that keeps this going in public with her tweeting & photo ops so she gets the backlash.

  50. Ruffian9 says:

Why would you brag about such a thing? Buying affection? …….it doesn’t work.

  51. Dana M says:

I agree with CB. She probably spent more than $20k on those kids plus Eddie. So sad she is trying to buy their love.

  52. CB Rawks says:

There’s nothing worse than her face mid-warble. Unless her O face is worse. Shudder.

  53. why? says:

It’s still about the woman because the WoMAN( LEANN )is still being inappropriate(ie- tweeting, tipping off the paps, and then sending info to these tabs). Yes, EC sits back and allows it, but just because he allows it, it doesn’t mean that Leann should do it.

If Leann had any decency, she would stop tweeting about those kids or at least see how insensitive she is being by making over 100 tweets/day about how she sung at the kids school, read books to the kids classmates, bought the kids this and that for Christmas, and will be spending Christmas morning with those kids.

  54. DrM says:

    http://yfrog.com/gz93ioj

Leann doing her impression of “Mrs Clause” I need a bleach wash for my eyes…

  55. brin says:

    @DrM…Skanky Claws.

  56. why? says:

Leann wants to know where In Touch got it’s story and then she gets on twitter and tweets about all the nice packages that UPS and Fed Ex dropped off at her house and about how those kids are going to have a nice Christmas at her house.

I think Leann needs to stop surrounding herself with all those “YES” people who are more concerned with her bank account than with her wellbeing.

December 17th, 2010 at 1:23 pm #28 (sorry can’t read your name; my screen has it jumbled up with the number)
    _______________________________________

Yeah! Can someone tell me whats up with this? I thought at first maybe its just my computer. Does anyone know WHY 3/4 of the names are mixed in with the number? Is there a glitch with Celebitchy?

  58. KatScorp says:

@Salem #57 I think that there are three line sections where the writer’s name is shown. The first two lines are next to the square/avatar and both will hold up to four characters, so any name or first name with four or less characters (i.e. Brin, Jezi and Rita) will be automatically placed in the first line next to the avatar, which unfortunately, is also where the number lies.

You also see it with CB Rawks. The first part of the name is two characters, therefore is placed on the first line… but the Rawks is five characters, thus is placed on the third line – skipping the second. If CB Rawks dropped the “s” and became “CB Rawk”, then the Rawk would be on the second line, just like the “M” in #51 Dana M.

Now, Dana M has a four character followed by a space and a single character, so her name is distributed on the first two lines. If her name was Dana Scully, her first name would be on the first line with the number, but the Scully would drop to the third line where yours, mine and BluHare’s is placed.

The only stand out here is the prolific “Why?”. Four characters but skipping the first two lines and placed on the third line where it is legible. My only guess is that ‘Why?’ is adding a space before or after her/his name in the Name (required) field above in order to bring the characters in her/his name to five… which would automatically slip the name ‘Why?’ into the third line, beneath the avatar. Perhaps Rita, Brin, Jezi and the rest can try putting a space before or after their names to push the character count up to five?
