“Anne Hathaway makes out with a pillow-weeper” links

oneday

Just a quick word about One Day, this new film starring Anne Hathaway and Jim “One Thrust & Weep Into A Pillow” Sturgess. After Lainey at LaineyGossip gushed about the book, I read it, and I am not going to see the movie. The last fifty pages of the book SUCK. It was a wonderful book up until then, but the end is just awful. [Cinema Blend]

Ooh, I love Jim Sturgess! He looks like such a wonderfully sensitive guy. But yeah, he probably weeps after.

  2. mia girl says:

Yes, the last 50 pages were harsh… but it is such a great book.

I wasn’t so sure I saw Anne Hathaway in this role, but the movie poster actually looks good.

@Kaiser… I’ll let you know how the movie is. Maybe they’ll change the ending… ha ha!

  3. Rachel says:

I really liked One Day, I thought it was a great story. I also hated the ending of the book, to the point of actually being angry. Then I realized that if I felt that strongly about it, it was a truly good book.

Oh, and if Michelle Obama is fat what does that say about the rest of us?

  4. JuliaGuglia says:

I loathed the ending too. Spoiled the whole thing for me.

  5. Riley says:

About the El Debarge Chili thing, who cares?

About Kate Moss, she looks like an ugly Renee Zwelleger and Renee is pretty ugly on her own.

About Anne Hathway’s outfit in the bottom picture: is this what she pays thousands and thousands of dollars to Rachel Zoe for or is this why she pays thousands and thousands to Rachel Zoe? She looks like a college student who is off to her Shakespeare class and then to the coffee house with her boyfriend to study.

  6. Jess says:

I’m totally freaked out right now. I JUST started this book last night. What a coincidence. Now I’m not sure if I want to bother because everyone is bashing the ending. Does someone die?! *teasing, don’t tell me!

  7. Delta Juliet says:

I’m with Jess…this is next in my “to read” pile and now I am dying to know…what happens!
    **not really!!

  8. mia girl says:

@ jess Not bashing – just emoting!
Comments and reactions are just indicative of how invested you become with the story.

Read on – the entire book is 100% great.

  9. Mikeyangel says:

Please Riley, there is no need to degrade studying college students 😉

  10. cara says:

naw, the ending is how it should be. Read the first chapter, and it maps out why it ends the way it does. They speak of turning 40, of emma wanting to make a difference in the world, even a small one. Dex is doomed to be a douche. The story is about making that small difference through her friendship with dex, and so the ending is fitting. Dex doesn’t have all the time in the world to get his head out of his azz and all that.

  11. cara says:

    hiccup

  12. Kaiser says:

One Day is worth the read if only for the section where Em is writing letters to Dex while she’s working at that theatre company. That is one of the funniest parts of any book, ever.

But the last part… Jesus. You know what it was like? Fucking Atonement – don’t get me emotionally invested in the characters if you’re just going to screw with me.

  13. lucy2 says:

Atonement’s ending made me mad enough that I might skip this one, if it’s similar.

  14. Allison says:

Jim Sturgess is mine, Anne Hathaway, keep off 😉

Love him. Idk how he strikes you as a “pillow weeper”. Can’t say we have the same taste in men…

  15. renai(jrt) says:

you gotta give it to Anne for keeping it real and staying natural looking….

  16. ruru says:

What is she wearing (in the poster)?? Is it 1993 again?

  17. acidburn says:

Damn, Anne is such a lucky girl! I’d togue kiss Jim forever!!!! 🙂

  18. Isa says:

I loved Atonement. I thought the movie was just a good as the book and that rarely happens. I may have to read this. I’m a sucker for emotional endings.

  19. Newbie says:

    I love that poster.

  20. Claire says:

I loved the book until the end too. Don’t mind Anne Hathaway so much but she is not right for the part – well what I imagined Emma to be.

  21. Anne is always lucky, or Jim is lucky too 🙂

  22. Riley says:

I like the poster too. It is reminiscent of Robert Doisneau.

  23. Delta Juliet says:

Oh no…the ending is like Atonement? I was devastated at the end of that damn movie!
