Rebecca Romijn is not huge

Rebecca Romijn’s husband of one year, actor Jerry O’Connell, 34, joked on Conan O’Brien that his wife, who is pregnant with girl twins due later this year, is “huge.” O’Connell then tried to take back his rude comment and make it up to her. He issued a statement to People that he regrets saying that and that Romijn is not huge – she is getting bigger, but only where you would expect a pregnant woman to be:

“I regret calling my wife ‘huge’ on Conan O’Brien,” O’Connell tells PEOPLE. “I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologize to her and will be coming home with flowers.”

New photos have come out of pregnant Romijn and she doesn’t look huge at all. O’Connell definitely owed her an apology. Even if she was gaining weight all over the woman is pregnant and that’s no time to call her fat. Some groveling definitely was in order and it sounded like O’Connell was up to the task. If he really wants to make it up to her he’ll rub cream on his wife’s feet every night for the duration of her pregnancy and ask her periodically if he can bring her anything.

I have a feeling Jerry didn’t mean huge in a negative way — but I’m sure he got hell at home for it. 😀 😀

  2. Lara says:

But he was joking! And just my opinion, but she IS huge for 5 months, and good for her. I’m pretty sure he’s excited that her belly is already so big and he didn’t meant it in an insulting way 😉

  3. Kaiser says:

Umm… she *is* huge. But don’t pregnant women take that as a compliment?

Isn’t it better to say “Oh wow, you’re getting so big!” than to say suspiciously, “Are you wearing a friggin’ pillow, Tiny?”

1 month before I gave birth, at my baby shower ~ my belly measured 59″ around.
    ugh… I was frickin HUGE.

  5. Gigohead says:

If Becky is mad now for being called “huge” wait until she really is! I never had twins but I have two kids. Trust me I was “huge” towards the end.

Both of my boys were over eight pounds, so I was enormous at the end of each pregnancy. While the results are the greatest, I don’t envy any woman in the prenatal stage. Everything is sore, swollen, and stretched. OUCH.

  7. glad to see it covered says:

I m just glad to see that she dresses like a growing mother should. i get tired of seeing skin tight dresses or belly shirts or bikinis that barely cover anything on women that are in advanced stages of pregnancy. being pregnant is the time you can get away with wearing the biggest clothes possible and being comfortable. Kudos to Rebecca for dressing for comfort and not for shock value

I agree with everyone else here… me GAD ❗ I was huge towards the end of my pregancy – Rebecca has no need to worry right now, but I think bedrest could be in her future if she’s carrying twins.

  9. D says:

Jesus! she’s not huge at all. she has just belly, normal belly for pregnant women. her legs are still thin.

Ummm… I’m pretty sure Jerry was joking. And I’m willing to bet Becky knew it
