I actually liked the Kevin Costner version – it’s one of the few Costner films that’s pure good. Come on, that version has Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman!
But as for Crowe, just “meh” – it would have been cooler if it was Crowe circa 1998 – currently he just seems too angry and bloated.
Should be interesting…
Watch BBC’s series, “Robin Hood,” then try to top that.
Agree KDRockstar. Keith Allen rules as SoN.

I’m a shameless Russell devotee. If he’s in it, I’ll shell out my hard-earned money to see it.
There is just something about Russell Crowe that is so sexy. Just ‘something in the way he…’
This movie sounds interesting.
Kevin Costner will always be Robin Hood to me, but Crowe playing both roles? I’m so there.
I have no idea how they’re going to do this, but I can think of two horrible ways:
1) The Sheriff, disgusted with the corrupt and unpopular king, moonlights as an outlaw. Oh, the irony! Oh, the dramatic tension!
2) Multiple-personality disorder in the Middle Ages. Oh, the humanity!
Errol Flynn will always be my ideal Robin Hood.
Yes and yes! I love Russell Crowe. Every phone throwing, f-word dropping, bad-tempered, aussie inch of him. 😳
Edit:However, Michael Praed of Robin of Sherwood circa 1984 (thanks google)lives on in my memory as the best Robin ever.
Not an Aussie. Kiwi.
I point that out because I don’t want to be associated with him. 😉
