Victoria Beckham confirms she’s expecting a baby girl

wenn3220088

As everybody hoped, Victoria Beckham is expecting her long-awaited girl! Posh announced her pregnancy a few months ago, after dropping hints that she was done with having babies. In the end, I guess David’s amazing body was too much, and the lure of “trying for the girl” was too heavy. But it all worked out in the end! Posh’s rep confirmed to Hollyscoop that she is, in fact, carrying a girl. Huzzah!

Victoria Beckham is pregnant with baby #4 and Hollyscoop has confirmed that she’s having a baby girl!

The Beckhams rep confirmed the great news to Hollyscoop, saying, “Yes, it is true.”

David and Victoria are absolutely thrilled about the news. They’ve both been very verbal about wanting a baby girl. She announced her pregnancy in January and has been on bump watch ever since.

Not only will her three boys will have a little sister to look after, but someone gets to inherit her fabulous wardrobe!

Congrats! What do you think they should name their daughter? Milan? Paris?

[From Hollyscoop]

Lainey thinks they’ll call the girl LaLa, which I think is much more likely than Milan or Paris. Posh and Becks do love their “location” names, and they’re living in LA now so… Malibu Beckham? Beverly Beckham? Or maybe Lany Beckham (for LA-to-NY).

Anyway, congrats to Posh and Becks! I’m sure Posh is beyond thrilled, and the fact that this is a girl makes gaining the ten pregnancy pounds even easier.

her face looks softer with a smidge of weight on her

  2. Bubbling says:

All right I’m so happy for them! 🙂 Do you think it’s possible that they paid some major money for a fancy medical treatment to conceive with girl? I DO realize how retarded it sounds but, maybe…I don’t know…

  3. superjoy says:

too happy for her and the whole family.

  4. Shaniqua says:

It’s about time they had a girl in that brood!

  5. Crash2GO2 says:

The little girl is sure to be gorgeous. Congrats to them.

  6. munchies says:

its time for posh to keep those heels off for a while.
their boys have 2 names Brooklyn Joseph, Cruz David, Romeo James. baby girl could be Angela Victoria (los angeles)
or maybe they will name their baby Luna because i read them saying they are over the moon for two times. hehehe

  7. Anon says:

I am choosing to believe that their conception was legitimate, and not planned.

Can’t wait to hear the name!

  8. lila says:

Why she always covers her pregnancies with huge purses?

  9. brin says:

Yay! Can we say spoiled Spice?!

  10. malachais says:

Posh actually looks nice a teensy bit heavier. Congrats!!

  11. Kloops says:

I think they probably did IVF with only female embryos too. They can afford it, they really wanted a girl, why not? She’s probably been doing it for a while because I suspect Vicki isn’t crazy enough to implant more than one at a time. I’m glad she’s getting her girl but I hope she ends up more like the Beckham boys (who seem like decent kids) and less like Suri Cruise (who seems like a spoiled brat).

  12. MrsOdie2 says:

I’ll bet she’s looking forward to all of the custom-made freebies from her favorite fashion houses to adorn her Mini-me. I hope she feeds her past adolescence.

  13. Ruby Red Lips says:

Victoria so used gender selection to ensure she has a girl, no doubt about that.

Let’s just hope he eats now as she is expecting.

I also believe this was timed with David’s latest fling with the prostitute to divert attention from this and to make everyone think they are happily married

  14. Sue says:

I don’t think she did IVF my sister has 3 girl and what’d a boy and on her 4th pregnancy she had a boy it happens all the time if you keep trying your bound to get the boy or girl you what.

  15. Camille says:

It’ll probably be Angel or something similar I would imagine, although that might be too plain/obvious for them lol.

@Ruby Red Lips: I agree. Wouldn’t put it past them/her TBH.

Anyway, meh and good for them I guess *shrugs*.

  16. Eleonor says:

A mini Posh in the making congrats for them!

  17. Amy says:

Doesn’t she always go into hiding the last few months of her pregnancy? She doesn’t like being photographed with a huge pregnant belly or something lol. Well I’m glad they are finally having the girl they wanted!

  18. Cheyenne says:

    Congratulations to the whole family!

  19. Tiffany says:

That girl is going to have a killer kick to go with that Berkin bag collection. Congrats, Beckhams.

  20. ctkat1 says:

Good for them. They both seem to be really good parents, and a little girl after three boys has to be exciting. You know that the clothes on that baby are going to be insane. Posh is one of those women who just needs a daughter- let’s hope she gets a girlie girl and not a little soccer playing tomboy!

  21. courtney says:

um that’s not a new Phenomenon stars have done that for more than 50 years. infact thats how the Hermes Kelly bag got it’s name princess Grace used to hide her belly behind it when she was pregnant with Princess Caroline in 1956

  22. Celina says:

@Anon: “Legitimate” conception? WTF? Isn’t that kind of insulting to those who have conceived babies with technological help?

  23. Wicked SteppMom says:

Even if she didn’t do IVF, they could have done IUI (IntraUterine Insemination), and used Microsort for gender selection. It doesn’t 100% guarantee you will get the gender you need/desire, but it significantly improves your chances. (Close to 90% for female, slightly less for male.) BTW-Microsort was originally developed for people who need to have children of a specific gender due to hereditary gender-specific diseases/disorders, and that is what most clinics limit its use to, though there are some clinics that allow it to be used for “family balancing.”

  24. eternalcanadian says:

Dang, that’s one huge forehead (in the last picture). Also Victoria could stand to gain a few more pounds.

But it’s wonderful news about the girl. While they would be just as thrilled with another boy it is extra special to have a girl after three boys. 😀

  25. Cheryl says:

    @lila
“Why she always covers her pregnancies with huge purses?”

    LOL! So Funny!

  26. Jenna says:

Usually, couldn’t care less, but I’ll admit – post Spice Girls Victoria is kinda growing on me and I hope it is a wonderful time for all of them.

One thing though – to Sue up above in the comments? No clue if they used IVF or not… but there is no promise that if you keep trying you’ll get the other sex. My grandmother was the youngest of 12 – ALL girls. lol

  27. jemshoes says:

    Lovely, happy news! 🙂

  28. Mrs.Krabapple says:

She’s going bald. That’s what malnutrition from starving yourself will do to you. If that’s what it does to your hair, imagine what it’s doing to your blood cells, your heart, your kidneys. Is it really worth it? How shallow can a person be?

And don’t these women who starve themselves have family members who care about them? Who want them to be healthy, and not just a runway size 0? Are the husbands/family members just as shallow?

  29. Rosanna says:

I’m SO happy for her, delighted in fact! The girl is going to look stunning!!!!

  30. gg says:

They are not “embryos” when they’re implanted. They’re just fertilized eggs/zygotes, and not clearly marked male or female yet.

  31. Bellatrix says:

It isn’t too far-fetched to put forward the possibility of selective fertilisation.
You don’t have to look far either: Dr. Jeff Steinberg who was involved in creating the world’s first test-tube baby back in the late seventies is established in LA. His clinic was the first to offer “designer babies” and not only for genetic diseases but also in the choice of cosmetic traits and gender. They basically have a big screening lab where it is all a matter of screening the cells of potential embryos and making the right choice according to the parents’ desires and/or needs (in case of genetic diseases for example).

He openly states that anyone using the services of the clinic can choose the gender of their future baby. I believe they’ve done about 9000 gender selection fertilisations since they started offering this screening option…
And it is 100% accurate as the embryo’s cells are completely screened contrary to the cheaper alternative of MicroSort that merely sorts out the sperm.

So no, it isn’t a crazy idea to think the Beckhams went for the royal treatment. It is right there, just a few blocks away from where they live.
And yet, it still could have been natural. We’ll never know most likely. And it isn’t our business either as a matter of fact.

EDIT: I blame my fascination for biological anthropology and the BBC’s latest Horizon show on contemporary genetic evolution for knowing all this.

  32. Isa says:

I was really excited when I read this!
I think it’s wonderful to have one of each. I was crossing my fingers for a boy since I already have a girl and I got what I wanted. Unless the next ultrasound shows that something fell off….

She could’ve used other methods to have her baby girl, but it’s also entirely possible she had her girl naturally. This is a case where I don’t really care if they admit it or not (if they did have it done.) Maybe they tried the Shettles method.

But, a baby is a baby! And they are ALL wonderful regardless of the sex. 🙂

  33. Overrated says:

Amazing what money can buy these days.

  34. Tasha says:

Oh ma gosh so so happy 4 Posh n Beck…ma fav couple of all tym r xpectin a baby girl pls name her afta me

  35. gg says:

After looking again, I don’t see any filling out of her face – I see two massively sunken cheeks and I wish she would stoppit with the pruneface.

But for the most part, I am very happy for her and the family. So huzzah for Miss thing.

  36. Confuzzle says:

Bet she gives the kid a nosejob for her 16th birthday. Hopefully the kid doesn’t end up with fishface like mommy.

  37. Jenny says:

I think it’s the long hair that is helping to soften her face in the first picture. I can’t remember the last time I saw her with long hair…it does wonders for her face. She looks so much more human.

  38. Newbie says:

I like them as a couple. It’s good news and all. But if the constant cheating rumors are true, why in hell would you stay?

  39. teehee says:

I know she never really puts on a smile for the cameras, but yes she sure does look totally miserable pregnant.
Admittedly, though, I wouldnt always be smiling with 30-40 pounds of weight pulling forward on my lumbar region, either.
But my issue is that her unhappiness stems more from interrupted vanity. Her high heel stuff is a testament. Not that I wouldnt rock the looks while preggo either, but come on. 😛 Priorities, Posh. She is so going ot have major feet and leg and back and knee surgery required starting when she is past 50.

  40. Westcoaster says:

Can you imagine how Mariah Carey and Victoria Beckham are going to dress their daughters? Suri Cruise will be miffed that she will not be best dressed little girl anymore!

  41. samihami says:

Why is it so unbelievable to some that they got pregnant the old fashioned way? I mean they are both young and healthy and have a proven track record for fertility. Getting pregnant a 4th time was probably not that much of a stretch for them.

Congrats to them on their daughter, regardless of how she came about.

  42. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

    Sweet Sweet!!

  43. Justaposter says:

After having boys.. this baby girl will rule the roost! Those poor boys have no idea LOL!

My daughter has her brothers and Daddy wrapped around her little pinky!

  44. C-DUB says:

YAY!! Break out the little pair of baby pumps!!

  45. hyuch says:

I always feel so sorry for kids like this where the parents have SUCH a strong desire for one gender. Its like that becomes the most important facet of them. I remember when freinds had a girl FINALLY (their emphasis not mine) everything she did was “because she was a girl” not because she was a person , an individual called Mary. I think it would be odd to grow up with your gender being such a big deal in the family. And what happens when the kid doesn’t fit into the ideas that say Victiria might have about what girls do or like ie she hates dance and clothes? Look its not a big deal as I am sure she will be loved as they are good parents but….just not ideal in my head anyway….

  46. Emily says:

I’m happy for them both. I just hope that she keeps a little of her pregnancy weight on after the birth, but I won’t hold my breath.

  47. Anonymous says:

call her angel how fab is that

    Beckham is a joke
