These are photos of Uma Thurman at the premiere of Ceremony last night in LA. I’ll give Uma some credit – she’s aging naturally. She’s not Botoxed and plucked and sucked and pulled and stapled. She has laugh lines and her face moves, thank God. Uma is a rarity, and I love that she’s a 40-year-old woman who doesn’t look desperate and terrified of aging. Kudos!
As for the dress… well, I like it. But I have a weakness for metallics, and I love gold on a blonde. I don’t know who designed the dress (neither does Stylist), but if you made me guess, I would say Prada. Feel free to correct me. I like a good shirtdress, I like the length and I even like the faux-double-breasted detailing with the buttons. The only things I out-right hate are the shoulder pads – she doesn’t need them, and they make the dress look dated.
Also: love the rings. I want that circular ring!

Love the dress but please god, don’t let shoulder pads come back into style again. It was bad enough in the 80’s.
She looks tired. The dress looks stressful. By that I mean it looks like it is worn to attract attention yet the person wearing the dress looks like she wants a nap.

The close-up look ruined my first positive impression, it looks awful, dated. I really love the ring and the bracelet, tho.
She needs to wear a bra
It’s not my style, but it’s refreshingly different.
A bra would be helpful to upgrade the look, because it could very well be a fancy bathrobe without it….

Dress is ok but, yeah, wear a bra with that. But the shoes are beautiful! I generally don’t like that style but I’d definitely wear those.

You see that part above her upper lip? That looks so much like botox!…I think that because when you smile, your upper lip usually “rolls up” a little bit, making the distance between your mouth and tip of the nose shorter. But when a woman has had botox, she smiles, but the distance remains the same.

Uma looks great. I think that’s a gorgeous coat, not a dress, and the bra-less look cheapens the piece.
I’m loving those shoes in a very desperate way.
The first thing that popped into my mind was, “One…singular sensation.” Now I will have A Chorus Line stuck in my head all day thanks to this not-so-bad dress & reallt cute shoes.

The shoulders of the dress sort of make it look like she’s wearing a jacket and forgot to wear clothes underneath it. She could have used some pasties as well, but DAMN, she is exquisitely accessorized and really looks amazing despite my qualms with the dress.
I don’t know about tacky, but it definitely looks perky.

I like Uma, but ugh!–nasty outfit! Looks so cheap, like it’s trying to be a bathrobe and a trenchcoat at the same time. She needs to lose the pads, add a bra, and get a haircut and a good night’s sleep. And give me a break, just look at her face. She’s definitely been messing with it, smile lines or not.
