Prince William & Catherine are officially married (video, photos & The Kiss)

royal_weddiing_kate_william_1_wenn3315827

We’re now waiting for the kiss. According to the royal program, The Kiss should be happening around 8:25 EST. God, this has already been a long morning, right? Anyway, while we’re waiting for The Kiss – which will probably be timed perfectly with a flyover from some military planes – let’s discuss the general vibe we got from the wedding and everything. You can see the kiss on MSNBC live feed here:

UPDATE: Here’s the first kiss, for those who missed it!

I was increasingly impressed with how poised and NOT anxious Kate (Catherine, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge) was. She bordered on… extremely confident, I thought. Meanwhile, I got the feeling that William was a little bit of wreck. He seemed very nervous at times. I got the impression that Kate was super-coached, she knew all of her marks, she had practiced a lot, and she wanted to make sure she wasn’t going to mess up at all. My biggest complaint about Kate was that her makeup was hideous – she really, really should not have done it herself. My biggest complaint about William was that he really should have… I don’t know, been more together. He looked anxious, and he seemed… unprofessional when he and his brother were cracking jokes.

Stuff I liked: I liked that the vows were quick and simple. I liked how Pippa behaved… very courteous to her sister, respectful of the gown. I thought the father of the bride performed his duties beautifully, and I enjoyed seeing Carole Middleton looking subdued and emotional. I thought the wedding managed to have a very intimate feel, which is what they were going for.

So… who wants to read body language? I think Kate’s body language says “I got this, bitches!” And she did get it, all of it, and she has every right to tell me and everyone else to suck it.

Here’s video of the vows:

UPDATE: Here are some high and low-quality kiss photos. My favorite part is the little girl who is TOTALLY OVER THIS JUNK. Go ahead and feel free to “caption” the little girl’s thoughts.

  1. Iggles says:

Yes, she was very poised! I thought it was great.

I felt a little bad for Pippa carrying the dress, but her own dress was beautiful!

I never saw their brother before. I think it’s unfortunate he didn’t get Kate’s jaw. Oh well, it’s a crap shoot when it comes to genetics!

  2. crab says:

I love Pippa’s dress!! OMG I want that dress!! Hopefully they’ll knock-offs of it because I could work and save for the rest of my life and probably never be able to afford anything like that!!

  3. Hautie says:

I tend to suspect Harry was cracking jokes to keep things light. William up there with millions of people watching. And William wondering if he is doing the right thing.

My favorite moment was William reciting his vows. And Kate is desperately trying not to break out in a big eat shit smile. You could see her whole face contorting to stay serene.

The girl got what she wanted. Good for her.

Now I just pray that Harry finds a decent girl. Cause I am not remotely impressed with his date.

  4. Adnovitam says:

When you’re royal, you can make jokes and all that. When you’re common marrying into the royal family, no. She’s coached because it matters. He’s not because he can’t be exiled. Live in the UK for a few years and you’ll get it.

  5. Amy says:

Yes, she did seem confident! William did look nervous but I thought the two of them seemed in sync, not disconnected like Charles and Diana at their wedding. And I didn’t mind the brothers joking; it made the ceremony seemed more intimate.

  6. Icedwavez says:

I did’t think anything was wrong with her make up. Considering that there was going to be photographs and television cameras everywhere. Your going to have to beef up the make up to make it show and not be washed out. I thought she looked beautiful.

  7. mln76 says:

Well I for one thank you ladies for documenting the whole thing so that I could get a good night’s sleep. I also hope Hot Harry stays single for a while.

  8. K says:

Thank god it’s over! Tried watching the video for all but 5 seconds, but got bored out of my mind. I prefer looking at still pictures. That said, I thought Katie and Pippa’s dresses were beautiful.

  9. Crystalline says:

Surprisingly, I enjoyed it all. I’m not fond of church services, so its truly shocking I sat through watching it all.

I just hope Harry gets over this thing with Chelsy. If they marry, lordy that would be one hot mess judging by her appearance today.

And the doors just opened, I swear she said wow coming out! She definitely lost her composure a bit upon seeing all those people.

  10. Terri says:

I think Kate looked like she was medicated not confident.

  11. Kaiser says:

Damn, that was a fast kiss. I liked Kate’s giggle afterwards.

  12. Kaiser says:

Aw, they kissed again for the crowds. That was so cute!

  13. Mtn Girl says:

What was that? That was the quickest kiss, Wills just did it all of a sudden. Ok, well, at least he got in another one, I guess it’s not like Gone With the Wind or anything, lol 😉

  14. Shay says:

Great wedding and the chemistry between them was genuine, not non-existent like Charles and Di.
Two kisses on the royal balcony too!

  15. Iggles says:

Loved the second kiss. They were sweet on the balcony!

I’ve been watching this since like 5am. Ok, gonna get ready for the day. Haha! It *is* a Friday. Thank goodness I’m working from home..

  16. Esmom says:

Kate was mostly poised although she seemed nervous during the vows. Maybe afraid to stumble over her words?

  17. Brittney says:

Two kisses!! That made my morning.

  18. Mairead says:

    I missed both kisses!

And Kate definitely did say “Wow” coming out onto the balcony, the ITV presenters echoed it. Both it and Wills’ “yeah I know” expression and his “Are you ok?” was very sweet 🙂

She looks very very poised. She practiced hard and it stood to her. But the lads – Harry especially – looked nervy as hell! God love them, imagine having the weight of 2billion pairs of eyes on your wedding day!

  19. Donna Wingfield says:

I feel more hopeful for these two than I did for his parents on their wedding day. She looks lovely, and I believe she will be a helpmate to him in a way his mother never was to his father.

  20. Lisa Turtle says:

Duchess Racoon Eyes. Bonus points: Kate colored in her left eyebrow, which usually has a prominent bald spot.

Kate’s dress photographed better than it looked on camera (to me)… It’s a beautiful gown, I only wish it wasn’t a v-neck.

Also, is it the British tradition for bridesmaids to wear white? I thought Pippa’s dress was too fitted, too low cut, and with her boobs too much on display for the occasion.

  21. Kaiser says:

Mairead – I just added video of the kiss!

  22. JulieM says:

Agreed that Kate looked very confident. 9 years of hard work (not a job) to bag William. She got the prize. She earned it. William, on the other hand, really did not look so pulled together. I’m sure wedding nerves played a part, but he really did not look all that happy. He made his choice.

  23. Sparkly says:

I loved the joking around! I thought he was a bit too formal and nervous. It was nice to see him be almost regular guyish. Very sweet. He seemed a lot more comfortable after it was done.

  24. Samigirl says:

This is great and all, but I’m glad the hooplah is over. If I had to read one more damn status update on the facebook about all this, I was going to scream. Also, my wedding is at 2 tomorrow. Pray we stay rain free, please. Oh, and that I don’t scratch my bff/moh eyes out before then, because she is driving. me. insane. Thanks. <3

  25. crazydaisy says:

It looks like love, friendship and respect to me… and I hope you come around, Kaiser! Congrats to William and Kate – they both scored a catch.

Let’s hope this pair enjoys lasting love, and that they find ways to channel their tremendous charm and appeal into helping the world in every way their unique station allows. ♥

  26. JulieM says:

Samigirl: Have a wonderful day tomorrow! Let your bff/moh live, at least until Sunday!!

  27. Girafe99 says:

Slept through it all with a lie in, but saw the dress, and can anyone say Grace Kelly rip off!

  28. PrettyTarheel says:

Congrats Samigirl! May you have perfect weather, a well-behaved bridal party, and if you want one, may no one fail to bring you a motherf***ing drink because they are all in the Biltmore bar!

  29. maggiegrace says:

By jove, I think he loves her.

  30. mln76 says:

Congrats Samigirl!! good luck tommorrow there are sunny skies ahead 🙂

  31. Mary says:

It was lovely. Willaim had nervous jitters and you can see when kate arrived at the pew he tried to talk and giggle abit with her but she was not having it…The world is watching she was instructed in poise and she was abit tense and tight. Until they finally sat down for service she relax then he relax and the body language was more comfortable and she lean abit closer toward him. All in all the wedding ceremony was lovely and I’m glad to have watch the live telecast. They are in love and the relationship looks solid. Blessing to all and may they be fruitful and joyous…. Next will be Harry! He’s a darlin.

  32. DogBoy says:

You’re being a little hard on the makeup.. she looks absolutely stunning in the carriage photo above.

  33. jessica says:

    God Bless the Royal Family!!

  34. eny says:

I think William looks extremly happy. Good for them.

  35. Mairead says:

Aww thanks Kaiser! The little flowergirl covering her ears from the noise is so cute!

I just heard that the although it was mainly open seating, the aisle seats were reserved for the heads of their charities. Fair play.

  36. Samigirl says:

Thanks, ladies. And tarheel, you read my freaking mind. I’m thinking about drinking…now. Actually.

  37. Carragh says:

I thought both Kate and Wills looked lovely, but am I the only one who thought Pippa and Harry looked even better? I thought Kates make up was a bit off at first on the telly, but it looks fine in the photos 🙂

  38. beecee says:

Kate needs to work on her wave..it seems a little loosey goosey to me

  39. ladybert62 says:

I love the dress and the veil – Kate looks lovely. The video doesnt work for me at work (some quirk in the office network right now) so all I have are the photos – but the kiss photo looks like they are laughing and not kissing – that is cute – the little girl with her hands over her ears is hysterical – who is she?

  40. Rianic says:

I get her copying Grace Kelly – another commoner who married royalty.

My hubs shook and didn’t smile our entire ceremony bc he was afraid he was going to pass out. I think the men get just as nervous as the women.

  41. Justaposter says:

I agree Rianic. Men get nervous too!

I loved how she said “WOW” when they walked out onto the balcony.

It was a lovely service and she looked beautiful.

After watching Wills parents marry, its nice to see Wills marry for love.

  42. Solveig says:

Oh, the little girl covering her ears with the hands is so cute!
Well, I liked it all, it was subtle, classy, lovely, not opulent. Well done.

  43. Happymom says:

Such a lovely day! And I thought Prince Charles was so cute holding up Camilla’s grand daughter-that tiny little flower girl.

  44. Hazel says:

I think she looked really pretty, but that eyeliner on the bottom lashline really really bothered me too!! I know it’s her trademark blah blah blah, but it’s her wedding day…..it makes her eyes look beady, couldn’t she forgo it for one day??

  45. Brittney says:

The sun even came out just as Kate arrived at the church… everything was picture-perfect. I woke up in the middle of the night because of finals, not the wedding, but I’m glad I’ll be able to say I watched this happen live.

It was so strange to see a paparazzi target become a bona fide modern-day princess, in real time. No matter what your opinions on British royalty, it’s very cool that we still have royal families in the 21st century.

  46. Jilly Bean says:

what an ugly dress…. guess you cant buy good taste..

  47. orion70 says:

PW almost looked sad to me a few times in addition to the nerves, who knows, maybe he was missing his mother (or maybe it’s just nerves or emotion). Kate appeared to ask him if he was ok as they got into the carriage (after she said she was very happy).

I was not fond of Pippa’s dress or what she had done with her hair.

  48. akinropo ojo says:

waoh so impressed about the royal weddin,so glamour, geogeous,i lve it

  49. serena says:

How come there isn’t a comment about Camilla? When she came out and was waving at the crowd she was all like “wouldn’t you love me instead of Kate? I’m the old princess, remember?”.

    She piss me off.

  50. Katherine M. says:

I like that she stayed natural looking. Too many brides try to glam it up with absurd professional make up and unflattering new dos for the big day.

The dress was a mix of Grace Kelly’s lace coverlet and my favorite, Princess Margaret’s in 1960.

Not much interested in the whole hoopla but it seemed very nice and the little I saw made me smile.

  51. daisydoodle says:

What she’s thinking “I wonder if I can wear the tiara for the wedding night?” What he’s thinking “I wonder what the tiara looks like without clothes?!”

  52. Toe says:

Kate dress was beautiful. She looked like a doll. I liked how the brothers joked to break off a lil tension. There is true love between them.

  53. Jilliterate says:

Maybe it’s because I spend hours every day reading makeup blogs and I’m used to looking at extremely dramatic makeup, but I think her makeup looks perfect. Perhaps she could have gone with a slightly peachier blush to match her lip colour a bit better, but honestly, it’s hard to find a good peach blush (they’re always too pink). My only really complaint is that she’s a little too fake-tan, but I find she always does. She probably couldn’t reverse-engineer for the wedding. 😛

  54. The Other Katherine says:

I love the dress, almost as much as I hated Diana’s. The makeup is adequate, and no doubt done professionally; I can understand why she didn’t want to stray far from her usual “look.” If she’d had a majorly different makeup style, it would have distracted people.

I also like William being a bit nervous – it’s a very human response. He should have looked into a small Valium dose, because I think that’s what Kate did. (Just speculating based on demeanor.)

Charles looks the best he has since his own wedding. Not that that’s saying much. He certainly looks happier here.

And I love the little girl on the balcony, who is clearly thinking, “IT’S TOO GODDAMN LOUD. WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE?!! GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

  55. poodlemom says:

My favorite moment was when everyone was leaving the palace balcony…and Kate turned to wave at the crowd one last time! I just love her!

  56. Mizz Tickles says:

In the first photo it looks like they are both having a royal poo on the porcelain throne – Wills looks like he is dealing with a meat plug while Kate looks like she is just waiting for the salad to work its way through.

  57. Isa says:

I think she looked beautiful. I thought her makeup was nice. Although her hair kind of looks like it was supposed to be a little different but was affected by the weather?
It’s not often I see a long sleeved dress that I like.

  58. Maritza says:

Everything was just perfect, her wedding gown, her makeup, 2 kisses, their chemistry, the whole event was a fairytale wedding. I loved it!

  59. GossGirl says:

I agree with all above posts – makeup also seemed fine to me, she looked beautiful. And re: Will and Harry cracking jokes – its a wedding, love, not a funeral.

  60. Atticus says:

Flawless. Absolutely flawless. Kate is the perfect princess – looks the part, acts the part and there is genuine love between them. Love how sweet William was, and how nervous.

Did anyone else see when they first met at the altar that William said, you look beautiful!??! That was it for me. Started the waterworks and didn’t stop the whole time.

  61. N.D. says:

Everything and everyone looked nice to me, they were all smiling and joking with each other, dresses and hats were fascinating, nothing was amiss. Even the weather was fine.

  62. MoMo says:

Wow I think she totally looks like a future queen of England. Very confident and self-assured. I really think she is going to be the public’s ‘royal superstar.’ William could have practiced his posture more- his shoulders look kind of hunched over (or maybe that’s b/c he feels castrated now ;)). He certainly looks like he’s got a lot of conflicting emotions going on.
I agree that Pippa looks gorgeous and hot Ginge is looking super hot. He seems like an awesome best man to have.
Catherine’s make up may look horrible- but it certainly speaks volumes that she will have the firm final say with regard to issues she has control over.

  63. really says:

    she looked absolutely LOVELY.

  64. MoMo says:

lol I just noticed the pics where she’s holding up her left hand CAPTION: “See this? See my hand here bitches? Take a good look ’cause when I come out of this place, there’s going to be a really shiny chunk of metal on it, and that’s gonna verify that I pwned you all and you can kiss my royal A$$ forever!!!”

Prince Hot Ginge looks so somber/grim faced and serious when William is saying his vows! I wonder if he’s thinking to himself ‘K that means I have to work really hard to not be a bad influence for all William is agreeing to right now.’ Or I wonder if he’s thinking ‘Damn Wills, this is going to come back to bite you in the ass something awful.’

But seriously, someone should have coached William to not look as though his balls just got guillotined and set on a platter on the alter.

  65. gloaming says:

Coolest moment of the day has to be the two of them driving away in the Vintage Aston Martin!

  66. MoMo says:

Oh no! Did he really say ‘you look beautiful’ when she got to the alter?? Diana said in her tapes to Andrew Morton that’s what Charles said to her!!! (Diana responded to him ‘beautiful for you’)

  67. GradStudentEatingHotPockets says:

So gorgeous! That dress is great for her…and even though her make up is not always the best, it definitely looks like her. Aw yay!

  68. Lady D says:

Thanks so much for your coverage Kaiser. I did not want to get up at 3:00 to watch. Really appreciate your work.

  69. MoMo says:

Ha Ha her face and mouth contortions right before he says ‘I will’- Like she’s trying to stifle the biggest ‘YYYEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! BIOTCHES!!!! I KNEW THIS MOMENT WOULD HAPPEN!!!!! I WIN!!!!’

  70. the original bellaluna says:

    But who invited Big Bird?

  71. lrm says:

i still think he loves her, and i agree, much more genuine than with charles and diana.

there’s actual chemistry between them, and a long history and familiarity of life experiences that are similar [ie, school, common friends,e tc]
in spite of everyone saying she waited, at least they actual have almost a decade of common life experience to draw on.

looking thru all the pics [didnt even watch any video], i get the feeling that these people, including the guests, would all have beent his happy and excited even if it were not a royal wedding and not watched by millions.

honestly, it has the sentiment and emotion of a real wedding, two people who want to be married and family and friends who are excited for them.

    good for them.

  72. Janna says:

I loved the brothers joking. Who wants it so solemn. He’s a young man getting married and it was before the ceremony, anyway. It was sweet. She looked beautiful, but should have gained a few pounds and the upper part of the dress would have been better and better eyemakeup makeup and no tanning.

  73. Janna says:

The best thing in the world that could have happened to them is what they, and not let the Queen interfere. They have lived together outside the glare most of the time of the world and were able to establish a relationship and give them a real chance, unlike other royals.

  74. KateNonymous says:

How her makeup looks seems to depend on the lighting. In the cathedral it’s very harsh, but outdoors she looks lovely.

As for William looking nervous, I remember when Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson–before the ceremony, he literally looked green. Afterward he looked incredibly happy. Lots of men show their nerves before and are relaxed afterward.

  75. Theuth says:

Wo, thanks for the recap post! I saw just a few glipses of the whole thing and miss all the parties on ONTD 😀
Her dress was nice, it reminds me of Grace’s one, but I agree with people who hated the makeup: I also think she should have wear her hair up, it would have been more sophisticated.
William was ok. Shame for the baldness, but I’ve never thought he was this great beauty (my mother yes, ugh). Nice outfit.
The maid of honor…girl, just no. She was orange and too deep cleavage.
I HATED all the hats: I get it, you have to cover your head in a church (duh, I’m Italian, I know you need to be demure), but those things were atrocious. Horrible dresses, too.
I think my favourite one was Cameron’s wife: simple, wonderful shape and colour, and just an ornament on her head.
And I bow to the fierce Victoria: pregnant with huge heel, and still better than everyone. Really, this coming from someone who usually hate her.
P.S: love Elton John and his husband. So cute!

  76. Brittney says:

The surprise car ride!! Now I’m going to be hoping for more glimpses all day.

  77. Hakura says:

I find his nervousness adorable, for some reason. I mean, he really looks so in love with her, then in that video where they kiss (it’s like no big deal on her end, but he grins & blushes)…

I’m SO not the kind of person who goes for mushy stuff or even cares about the royal family. But I generally like these two. I think the whole thing was sweet.

  78. Hakura says:

The hats are hilarious… Looking out over the church, It’s like all the women look like some odd flower garden, with their ostentatious hats sticking up everywhere.

Such hats are so alien to me! You just never see anything like that here… & don’t have to cover your head in church.

  79. Roma says:

I hated the black eyeliner – it distracted the hell out of me.

But did you see? A lot of the women at the church had the dark eyeliner going on their bottom lid.

  80. PrettyLights says:

I think she looked lovely but a little gaunt and tired. I am happy for them and hope it all goes well. I would never want to be in her position though – having every movement, outfit, action watched and torn apart for the rest of her life… no thanks! You can tell she’s ready for it though, so good luck to her. Diana’s are big shoes to fill.

  81. hellen says:

Could Tara Palmer-Tompkinson have worn any hat MORE CALCULATED to advertise her wrecked nose?! OMG, it was like a huge neon arrow – “Look! I got a new nose for the wedding!”

Posh looked like she was going to a funeral. Those hoof-like shoes were hilarious though.

Grumpy troll-like little bridesmaid was an unexpected laugh bonus.

  82. Iggles says:

I loved the whole ceremony. I was up at 5am watching until the kiss on the balcony. I didn’t wake up for it (I fell asleep early last night and woke up at 3:30am!) and I was able to watch since I’m working from home, but I’m really glad I did. It’s history in the making. I wish all of them much happiness!

  83. bored says:

    He has a funny wave.

  84. Kim says:

I agree with Kates makeup looking terrible BUT she didnt do it herself. She had an entire hair and makeup team and this was the best they could do?! Pippas makeup looked great.

Dress was a little blah in the neckline but suitable for her body type and she looked pretty in it. I loved the lace – channeling Grace Kellys dress for sure.

Her nose has been done. Im suprised this hasnt been talked about more but she definitely had the sides pinched in a bit. And i believe her top lip was filled a bit but very mildly.

  85. dahlia1947 says:

I saw the KISS live! It was cute and sweet! Catherine looked beautiful! I love her dress her hair, her makeup everything!!

She was very graceful and confident! So yeah I’m sure she’s saying “SUCK IT B*&*^^!!” 😀

  86. sashavice says:

Hahaha, I accidentally turned the CC on in the wedding vows video, and it’s captioned really poorly!

“If any American Sheryl any just cause why they may not being more fitting…”

“…the dreadful day of judgment when secret civil parts will be discussed”

“so many of the couple together otherwise in god’s word of mouth, almost ruined together by god”

“to live together according to god’s law in the police station matrimony”

“By William for Philip morris, I will involve the fat lady fakery Catherine of the happens”

“and there are two make you feel like shit”

    Okay, I’m done.

  87. sashavice says:

I agree that Katie was very coached for this…I’m pretty sure her leaning down to whisper in that “over it” little girls ear was rehearsed as well.

  88. Zelda says:

I just want to give a shout out to the Celebitchy mods who surely had their hands full from a very early hour today and did a really great job on the coverage.

    Thanks guys.
    xoxox

  89. Juu says:

I loved everything about her looks. The make up and dress are simple and elegant, very appropriate for a royal wedding.

And I KNEW they would take inspiration from Grace Kelly, the most beautiful princess ever.

  90. Melanie says:

I can’t wait for the honeymoon coverage on Monday. TBLFT!

  91. Beachy says:

I watched this on CTV and they said that little girl has an eye condition so that might explain some of her expressions. They didn’t mention anything about a tongue sticking out condition so I’m guessing that’s just her personality coming out which is adorable.

  92. machiavelli says:

I have a crush on the Archbishop of Canterbury. Have I sinned in my thoughts? Is he available for confession?

  93. Mairead says:

@Machiavelli – you’ll have to go to Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor for that. 😉

    @Sashavice “Any American Sheryl..” LOL!

  94. Amanda G says:

I like her dress. It’s classy and timeless.

  95. Janna says:

@Kim, Kate did do her makeup herself. That info was released days ago, that she got tips from a makeup artist and planned to do it herself. She should have used a professional.

  96. DeeDee says:

Atticus: I saw him whisper that too! It was so sweet!

Her make-up looked beautiful, as did her dress.

You can tell they truly love each other. I really loved it when she said WOW when coming onto the balcony and he said I know, and then asked if she was ok. So sweet.

Now PLEASE pass on Charles and Camilla and go straight to William and Catherine for King and Queen!

  97. Chukwu emeka says:

Oh great,it’s once in a life time, prince william and kate happy married life. Aww so sw33t.

  98. eternalcanadian says:

I thought Catherine’s makeup was awful. It was too much and the blush looked like two stripes across her cheeks. I really do not understand why she would do her own makeup as it never looks good, especially with that black eyeliner that ages her at least 10 years.

And William, he needed a powder or two on that shiny forehead of his. His face was almost beet red at times!

Harry, oh Harry, what happened to his posture? It was like he had a stomach ache or something as he was slouched over. I thought the military put a post down your jacket so you’d stand upright?

  99. iheartlasagne says:

Thought it was lovely. My only wish is that the kiss didn’t have to be so stodgy – I realize there are rules and only a peck is probably allowed, but if they could just touch a bit it would be nice! A hand to the face or neck is always nice, but even if he just touched her arm. Even for a quick, simple kiss this could be done and it would seem a bit more personal. But I suppose that’s just my romanticism, considering that they televise their entire wedding they deserve some privacy. Two kisses was nice! Wow I really need a boyfriend…

Where I live (Perth, Western Australia), we got to watch the royal wedding at a very decent time here in the evening (4-8.30pm local time), and I ate it up, the whole thing, along with our family dinner of fish and chips. 😀 It was just a beautiful ceremony.

@Zelda – ITA – thanks CB and all the people commenting in the wee hours, really made it fun to watch a lovely wedding and have a laugh – nice to have a lighthearted distraction from everyday life. CB ROCKS 😉

JulieM – I found it disconcerning how nervous he was. But you’re right he made his choice. However for him, he doesn’t have to live with it, for long at least. He can get as many mistresses as he wants.

Waity on the other hand, I hope it was worth the 9 years. This right here is the best of it. From here on out it’s doing whatever the Palace says. She better hope the Queen doesn’t live much longer because I doubt Charles is as tough as she is. The Queen is old school like that. Everything is protocal.

And no I do not think the Middletons will go quietly into the night. I can’t wait to see how the Queen handles that mess of family. She’s never had such blatant social climbers. All of the inlaws disappeared once they were married. Carole is not the one.

  105. Ashley says:

@ Rianic Grace wasn’t Royalty but she wasn’t common by any means. She grew up in a wealthy family, and she was a socialite. She wasn’t exactly middle class.

  106. Being truthful says:

She is beautiful, but is she a true dark brunette. Her hair looks dyed much darker than I’ve seen before. Gorgeous, though!

  108. Maggie says:

@Being Truthful- I also thought her hair looked a bit darker than normal. I like it better the usual way, this was a tad too harsh. But she’s beautiful regardless. I agree w/those who thought her makeup could’ve been better. I’ve never been a fan of her eyeliner. It can give a “hard” look when up close. Nobody wants a hard looking woman! (And Pippa and Momma Middleton I’m looking at you, too!!) Soften up those eyes ladies!

    @truthzbetta

The money we give to the royal family is returned to the UK economy via tourism, and investment in British companies. Additionally, the royals do actually work. It may not be work as you and I know it, but there are clear expectations in return for that investment. Those that are actually on the dole however, do nothing. And a few of them also add to our crime statistics. So please do us all a favour, and STFU.

I think with the joking he was trying to make it not feel so heavy – which was great.

He said to Kate’s dad something like “I thought we were having an intimate family wedding” when they got to the altar, very cute!

That’s a pretty cynical, unpleasant view… If the entire world was watching my every move, I would’ve been nervous too. Everyone was making such a big deal out of it, drawing comparisons to his late mother, it was probably a ridiculous amount of pressure. (Not to mention hoping she was going to handle it well).

At least give them a week married before you start talking about ‘mistresses‘… And I’m not even a royal-loony, I’ve never paid them ANY attention. I barely know anything about them, & even *I* wish these these 2 well. He really looks like he loves her.

Grumpy flower girl’s thoughts “Make the commoners stop their incessant brewhahahaaing!! I put on this dress for a carriage ride and a Champaign reception with the Queen, not to play monkey for a horde of plebs!!!”
