Milla Jovovich in Prada at Cannes: glamorous or tacky?

wenn5656862

Actress and supermodel Milla Jovovich was front and center on the Cannes red carpet for the debut of La Conquete, which is the much anticipated biopic of French President Nicolas Sarkozy that, according to early reviews is a serviceable enough film but not a stunning masterpiece by any stretch. What’s more relevant here, however, is the Prada gown worn by Milla. Though her hair and makeup, Milla obviously intends to evoke some old-fashioned glamour, but the dress is somewhat lacking. The mismatched top and bottom really throw the look off although I’m sure the avant garde look will appeal to some fashionistas out there.

Although La Conquete was clearly a political film, this red carpet was definitely more of a runway affair. Also in attendance was Dutch model Doutzen Kroes, one of the current Victoria’s Secret Angels and also one who doesn’t recognize the meaning of “sheer.” That’s her underwear, right?

Meanwhile, Eva Herzigova ditched all subtlety and killed it with extremely short shorts that showed off her ultra long legs. By the way, she had a baby two months ago, so this is probably her “Look how quickly I bounced back!” outfit. Bitch.

    Mila’s outfit is tres awful.
    Doutzen did a major don’t.
Eva is a bounce-back bitch lol.

  2. Hollowdoll says:

Eva’s shoes are making my eye’s tear up. They look so painful.

Mill’s ensemble reminds me of Orphan Annie.

    Doutzen’s dress is horribly tacky.
Underwear and the the bunching at the back makes me think that somone needs a Brazilian wax. lmao

  3. k says:

I really like Milla’s outfit, but I think only Audrey Hepburn could pull it off.

  4. really says:

    Bringing sexy back!

  5. Vickyb says:

Ugh, I think Milla’s make up is a bit rubbish, and that dress is AAAAAAWFUL! Her hair’s great though.

And Doutzen’s choice is horrid! Terrible!

And Eva looks good, but I don’t even know if Cannes is the place for this look. And if not here, where?

Milla Jovoich has never been classy and could never be cool to save her life. She’s the stuff of jokes all over campus because of her involvement with the Resident evil movies. She’s beyond an air head too, just listen to her in interviews and my God for a woman pushing 40 she’s just a really sad case. And she really wants my generation to think she’s this awesome whatever ; when the more asinine moves on wires she pulls the less and less respect she gets. You just watch she’ll start exploiting her own child for $$$ and her moronic joke of a director husband will only tarnish production companies reputations with his degenerate writing and uncreative directing. She’ll never be a Ripley or Angelina Jolie because both bad ass femme fatals has one thing she has never had – an intelligence. Weiver returned for Avatar and it was like a breath of fresh air from the likes of cheesy lame dork Milla Jovoich.

  7. Sue says:

Mila’s outfit is bad the two tone look didn’t work.

Doutzen should have put on black underwear.

Eva looks a mess wrong outfit for this red carpet when everyone else has on gowns.

Doutzen just had a baby recently too.

  8. Hollowdoll says:

Wow! Viper, that’s a mean bite you have! ;-P What did she do? Pee in your water and tell you it was lemonade?

  9. Michelle says:

    Good grief Viper!

I’m among the many university fans that love Milla in her Resident Evil movies so I’m not sure which “campus” you’re speaking for. She also is a talented singer and writer…her CD got rave reviews from the critics and I just wish she’d make another one.

I’ve never heard her sound pretentious in an interview, though she comes across rather bohemian and artsy, not unlike Zooey Deschanel whom I also love. I don’t find her half as irritating as Gwyneth Paltrow or Natalie Portman that’s for sure!

Actually she and her husband single handedly molested one of my child book favorites The Three Musketeers. I didn’t watch the RE movie because I heard they were stupid but I do have loads of guy friends who used to say the same thing about her and her dork of a husband raping their childhood teen favorite games. I didn’t take issue about that until I saw the trailer off TM. Then I knew how it felt to have something that actually HAS a good story, character development and adventure and literally be violated to the point of no return. I mean she’s doing some wacky bonkers wire work in 17th century FRANCE?! I get it if you’re a super human or in a computer or some nuts Japanese spin off or whatever; but they used to bleed people as a cure for a cold in 17th century France – but she’s doing some retarded version of the matrix. I mean come on now? The Man in the Iron Mask had more realism and in it you had John Malcovich playing a Frenchman with an American accent and Leo Dicaprio as Prince Philip! And STILL the story was a good one. But this one she is literally sword fighting, Explosions, gun fights in mid air jumping all over the place – how can we be expected to digest this? I mean artistic licence my ass and be damned The three Musketeers story is an absolute classic dating back a hundred years it doesn’t deserve such disrespect. Specifically with such a big budget. So yeah I do think it’s her fault and her husbands, he wrote it and guess who he makes the heroine? It’s absolute ego and it is vile. Why dont they just take a story like Moby Dick and make it about a man and his penis running rampant on the deck of a ship? Seriously, if we’re going to systematically molest fairy tales and novels lets just go all the way! Otherwise stop pissing on the authors graves and tell their tales honestly, with the care and love they deserve.

I’ve always loved Milla-I think she’s stunning. The dress…not so much. But still love her.

    __________

    LOL

Milla is stunning, I love this woman. But the dress is bad. The top is ok, the bottom is beyond ugly and seems part of a different dress.
I vote for Milla at the HGirlF, by the way.

  13. viper says:

Also, Milla is the kind of girl that uses the word ‘like’ and ‘you know’ far too many times in her sentences – not to mention the snobbish tone she uses when she does talk specifically when she starts a sentence with ‘um’ . I have no sympathy for Portman but at least she can carry a sentence and be grammatically correct at the same time.

  14. Cheyenne says:

    Meh…

  15. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

That first dress looks like one of Maude Findlay’s get-ups.

  16. sandy#1 says:

red/white outfit is way too long, but her make up is nice, again with the black see through? ..ok

  17. Newbie says:

I’m calling “blech” on all three.

  18. Embee says:

    I really like Milla’s look.
Doutzen probably didn’t anticipate the flash(bulbs) causing her to flash us.
    Eva is hilarious.

Holy trigger alert, Viper. Molesting and raping are pretty strong accusations to make against people with whom, it seems, you merely have a creative disagreement over someone else’s work.

  19. Zelda says:

There’s no nice way to put this: Kroes’ lipstick looks like she just blew someone in the limo.

Milla could be such an old-Hollywood beauty. But her clothes are always terrible.

    Herzigova for the Win.

  20. crtb says:

Mila looks great. What a beauty!

  21. Liana says:

Milla is such a nice down to earth fun woman. I worked with her on “Dummy” (which is where I first worked with Adrien Brody)

  22. Camille says:

I’m with those who like Milla 🙂 . She is very pretty and I enjoy her in films (except the 4th Kind which sucked). I’m not a fan of the dress she is wearing here though.

My hubby has a bit of a crush on her, so she has at least one male fan! @viper. 😆

  23. galaxy.girl says:

LOVE Milla, wish the bottom part of the dress was white or red 🙂

  24. Chantay says:

Go Milla, Go Milla, Go, Go, Go Milla!!!!

  25. wifeyskarsgard says:

I still love Milla, but that dress did not do her justice.
