Bryce Dallas Howard was my worst-dressed pick for the MTV Movie Awards. Yeah, I know she’s pregnant and that should ensure that she gets a pass. But Bryce simply has terrible style, all the time. Remember when she wore this to Cannes just a few weeks ago? It was an oversized smock made out of stiff-looking tapestry material. And as for this J. Crew dress…I’m sorry, there are lots and lots of cute maternity clothes that don’t look like Pepto-Bismol vomit. I just don’t get why anyone would want to look like this, why anyone would say “Hey, that fug pink thing with the little rope belt! I WANT THAT.”
That being said, I don’t really get Bryce Dallas Howard in general. I get that she’s Ron Howard’s daughter and that she’s trying to make a name for herself on her own, and hey, she actually won last night (Best Fight) and she got a shout-out from Sparkles (“It’s ok, I ripped your head off and now you’re pregnant!”). But it feels like… eh. She doesn’t need to exist in Hollywood. She brings nothing to the table. She can’t even dress in a cute outfit for a red carpet.

LOL, I like the dress. It’s a differently coloured version of one that someone (Rosario Dawson?) wore last year.
It’s not THAT bad – but if she weren’t pregnant it’d be awful.
I haven’t seen her in much to know if she’s any good, I’m waiting to see how she does in The Help.
JGL should have won, but shocker, a stupid Twilight movie won instead. I’ll be so glad when those are all done.

give Bryce a break it’s harder for a woamn to dress when she’s pregnant and had she not shown up people would’ve understood why. pregnancy is one of the few things that can get a female entertainer out of having to do red carpets as are thinking she’s not going to win if she’s a nominee {example Sophia Loren didn’t attend when she won the Oscar in 1962 as Piper Laurie was the favoirte to win}. having just lost a pregnancy [Joanne Wooodward prior to her win for best actress in 1958 where she voted for Elizabeth Taylor}.
I like her. She’s harmless, and there’s much much worse Hollywood spawn out there trying to make names for themselves in much much worse ways. Montana Fishbourne, anyone? She’s pretty, I liked The Village. Her fashion is odd, but being pregnant in this heat sucks, so pregnant women get a pass.
Some celebs can pull off pregnancy fashion with flair, others – like Bryce – not so much. The colour is disgusting and the fit is like a tent dress.
I’m not saying let it all hang out and expose the belly, but just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t wear form fitting clothes. You don’t have to wear a tent.
Dress is not bad. Looks very 60’s. She was great in “The Village.” I think she’s a cutie and she’s not all fakey-fake, so I hope she does more movies.
I’ve never actually seen her act, but I like her face and hair. She’s lovely. I’ll give her a pass on the dress, and I don’t think it’s that bad.
it’s like she was thinking, ‘i’m sick of feeling nauseous, i’m sick of looking like a hippo pregnant with a whale that just swallowed the squid, i’m just going to go with whatever the hell makes me happy’, and then she saw this pink, and got a sugar rush just from looking at it.
As someone far more pregnant than her, I feel justified in saying that dress is hideous. Yes, it can be a challenge to dress when pregnant but not when you have your own stylist and money is no option! You get a pass on daily wear, but if you’re going to walk a red carpet, GET A DECENT DRESS.
As to BDH in general, I find her hugely annoying. The Hereafter was a big disappointment, but she was notably terrible even in that bad movie. She’s married to the fantastic Seth Gabel, so at least as a person she has great taste but she is a god-awful actress.

It’s not THE DRESS. It’s THE COLOUR(s) of the dress.
I’m all for being comfortable, whether I’m preggo or not; but surely there was a less-violently coloured dress she could have chosen.
Then again, I’m violently opposed to any shade of pink (too much natural yellow/orange in my skin-tone) so maybe I’m biased. The peach is fine. Maybe if it was ALL peach or a few different shades of peach. Or a nice sea-foam/teal.
There’s plenty of people who “don’t need to exist in Hollywood,” why so hard on her? I think she’s beautiful and a decent enough actress. So she had bad taste in clothes (some), so what? Eh.
I love that she’s a ginger, and I think she’s adorable. I thought she was great in “The Village” and “As you Like it” but the poor girl is seriously a horrible dresser. I get HUGE when I’m pregnant, but I always made sure I looked cute and put together (well, as much as one can when massively uncomfortable pregnant). I’d love to give her a pass, but I just can’t. It really does look like she does spewed Pepto all the way down her dress!
I dont like the dress. women with pale skin shouldnt wear pinks unless they have a lot of black on too. off topic: i really liked the original red head in the twilight movies better.
I actually like her a lot. I think she’s a great actress–at least, she has been in everything I’ve seen her in. I like that she’s not just another wooden blonde with fish lips (Rosie Whatshername-Something). And I actually think that dress is quite pretty.
She’s smiling and holding herself like she feels beautiful and confident. Gotta give the girl props for that!

Yikes. She’s pretty and I *love* her red hair, but she needs to hire a competent stylist. Also, her clothes are almost uniformly terrible and unflattering at every red carpet event she’s attended as an adult, so I can’t give her a pass for being pregnant. Girlfriend just has bad taste in fashion.

Yikes! This dress is heinous! Looks exactly like Pepto Bismol vomit. There are plenty of good maternity clothes out there these days – no need to look like this.

The colors and the rope-belt are what make it grotesque. It could have been worse, but yes, it’s pretty bad. Not flattering to her at all.
I’d give a pregnancy pass to Jane Doe off the street, not these people. They have enough time, money, and stylists around to get their act together.
She’s vastly improved since she first hit the scene–I remember her looking seriously unattractive–here she looks cute from the neck up.
She’s a very talented actress. I loved her in the Village. I wish she’d done more movies before she got knocked up. Hopefully she gets back to work after this.

as far as I know it’s her second baby. She’s adorable and I’ll give her a pass since no other actress in HW is so cute and fresh. She’s Ron Howard’s daughter yet he’s managing her career on her own and I’ve never heard a diva story about her. Just saw her in Hearafter with Matt Damon, very sweet.

It’s not like these pregnant stars are poor schlubs like us, forced to wear whatever God-awful mess they can afford to buy off-the-rack at some random maternity store or a Target that is the ONLY ONE IN OUR SIZE, FFS! Have a little style, for Pete’s sake. It’s not like they can’t afford it!
OK, the dress isn’t great, but I really like her and think that she’s very pretty and talented. She has a certain boho vibe and she doesn’t try to look like everyone else. There is so much cookie cutter fashion going on today. If you’re not in a strapless mermaid dress, you are criticized for your attire. I give BDHoward a pregnant pass, like Minx2.

The dress wouldn’t be so bad if it the hot pink stripe wasn’t there. Actually, would’ve been beautiful in a solid green or blue. Maybe lavender.
As the mother of a red head I don’t put my daughter in hot pink. Never been a fan of pink anyway. Her hair color is a lighter shade of red than Bryce’s.
It’s pretty hard actually to find little girl clothing that isn’t just pink.
People keep saying she looks so natural, but to me she looks seriously jacked, compared to her breakout role in the hugely craptastic “Lady in the Water.” I’d bet on a nose job and veneers, at least.
