Take one part Mr. and Mrs. Smith, one part Thelma & Louise, and one part modernized Bonnie & Clyde, add some lighting wizardry and some high-quality weaves, and you’ve got the new music video for Britney Spears’s “Criminal”. First – I kind of like the song. Secondly, I kind of like the video too. It’s weird and funny and it costars Jason Trawick as Britney’s fantasy “Criminal” lover. They get their sex on. It’s both funny and slightly hot – Trawick isn’t much of an actor, but I now completely buy that he and Britney have dirty, Cheeto-covered sex on the regular. Here’s the video – the music doesn’t start until about the 1:30 mark.
Like, why London? Britney’s “character” is American, as is Jason’s “character”. Why are they in robbing stores in England? And why do the stores look so American? And why are the Metro police so gun happy? This must be the “controversy” over the film – the guns and the nudity. Welcome back, Brit!
So… it’s a cute video. It’s one of her better videos from the past few years, truly. I think we should give Jason some credit for that.

Um… Jason just looks like a poor man’s Sam Merlotte in most paparazzi shots…but in that video… yummy! I seriously rolled my eyes when I heard that she was putting him in her video, but daaaaaaamn, they really pulled it off!

I got half way through the video and then my snoring woke me up. High quality production values but the rich abused lady meets bad boy is just a roll-over stock plot.
These sort of songs and videos give me the impression that Britt and her people are sitting around tapping their pencils and asking “What do you want to do today?”
In my opinion, having your other half in a music video is never a good idea.

Hot! Britney still has it for me, okay she isn’t that lively anymore as she used to, the spark is gone but I still rather watch her videos than Beyoncé’s for instance. She has “it”, without any effort. So many young girls and artist are marketed as the new girls but they don’t have what Britney has. No matter how good they can dance, sing, work the camera, Britney has something those girls will never have. It’s unexplainable.
I think London did wonders for her.

There’s something about Britney that’s easy to like and she’s a great performer. I didn’t like what she did to an innocent pregnant woman during the Federline crap, but I think she was devastated over Justin (you could see how lost she was) and sliding into depression and/or mental illness. So glad she’s got herself back and seems older and wiser and more grateful to boot. Go, Brit!!

That song is one of the worst pieces of cr*p pop songs that I have ever had the misfortune to hear. I wish I hadn’t allowed myself to see/listen to that :(. Awful. Just awful.

Thank you camille – her concerts are 90 minutes of bad dancing and bad lip synching – there is no live music -I can see better performances at my local jr. high school – I have to wonder whether people even know what great live music sounds like that become so accustomed to this disposable crap.
Ummm….. I had to google it and the video I saw’s music started right away. The music is ‘meh’ but not bad. I’m confused though, are there several versions of this because the lead guy in this had short, dark hair and I’m 90% convinced that was Adam Levine?. Which part did Trawick play?
At least Brit didn’t end up in the 27 club, which is where I thought she was heading. She looks well and happy, and that’s a good thing, considering where she was at a few years ago.

@53 she was famous once for singing annoying baby pop songs which catered to the interest of girls aged 8-14. Then she stopped with the innuendos and completely slutted it up so after that point little girls got over her, but gays still loved her dance choreographies. And then the knee incident and subsequent laziness… Now even gays are over her. Let’s hope that she’ll retire after this album is done being promoted, she certainly looks like she’s over it. It’ll be the best for everyone if she just sits on her cheetos fat ass full-time like she wants to and let’s hope the next generation of singers and performers will be more talented.
