Madonna was such a control freak, she even had rules for how her now-estranged husband, Guy Ritchie, was allowed to fight with her. New reports say that the couple had a contract, drafted with the help of a marriage counselor, which instructed Guy on how to communicate with his wife when he did something to upset her. Other rules included his obligation to spiritually enrich Madonna and to devote a certain amount of time to sex and Kabbalah instruction. Kinda takes all the joy and spontaneity right out of everything, doesn’t it?
Madonna tried to control husband Guy Ritchie with a marriage contract which urged the film director not to shout at his wife and to devote time to sex, it has emerged.
The alleged document detailed a list of rules for Guy drawn up after the couple attended counselling two years ago.
Guy was told he ‘must work to enrich his wife’s emotional and spiritual well-being’, ‘resolve conflicts in a constructive way’, and devote time to the couple’s ‘sexual expressiveness’.
According to The Sun the document even had instructions on what words Guy should use during arguments, and he was told to ‘state calmly: I understand that my actions have upset you, please work with me to resolve this.’
He was also expected to spend several hours reading Kabbalah texts with his estranged wife.
A source said Madonna had the contract pinned up in the couple’s New York home after they attended marriage counselling, and would reprimand Guy by saying ‘contract, contract’, if he broke the rules.
A source told The Sun: ‘Guy felt bound up like a kipper’.
Good lord, that sounds like hell. While I agree that there should be some basic ground rules for couples when it comes to arguing or having a disagreement, this is taking it way too far. It also sounds like it was Guy who was making all the concessions and compromises to keep Madonna happy and not the other way around. No one can be happy in that kind of situation for long.
It’s also looking like the divorce could get uglier if the couple can’t come to an agreement on where their children will live and how they will be educated. In typical Madonna fashion, she wants it all her way- she wants full custody of the kids and plans to move them to the U.S. permanently, where they will be educated at a Kabbalah school. Guy, of course, isn’t happy about this.

Madonna, 50, wants the two boys to live with her and Lourdes, her 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, in New York. But Ritchie, 40, would prefer that the children go to school in London.
The singer’s biographer, J Randy Taraborrelli, told Hello! magazine the pair ‘are at loggerheads’.
He said: ‘There was a great deal of haggling about this matter last week, with Madonna upping the amount of Guy’s settlement to more than £20 million in hopes that he would acquiesce.’
He added that they are ‘not even speaking to each other. They communicate only through lawyers’.
Mr Taraborrelli also said a friend of Ritchie told him that the split could become more acrimonious
The source told him: ‘I do think it’s going to get nasty. He and Madonna are very angry now, no doubt about it, [but] they are willing to put that aside for their children.
‘But I do think that if one sees the other linked up with a new partner so soon, it will make everything a lot more complicated for everyone involved.’
It was also claimed today that the couple’s legal teams are seeking witness statements from business and house staff.
With all these contracts and rules of engagement, I’m surprised Madonna never had Guy sign an agreement on where the kids will live and how they’ll be schooled prior to the divorce. Maybe she just assumed he’d go along with it. At any rate, going head to head with Madge is not going to be a picnic. I don’t envy Guy at all.

As for these ‘rules’, there might have been some to protect both parties when they would divorce but I highly doubt that those rules were used for stupid things like that. 🙄

You know what! I’m going to jump out on a ledge here and say what I know a lot of other have said in their mind. Why is Madonna so cold? She is just using her children as ploy. I don’t feel any sense of motherly feelings (for lack of a better word) when looking at her.
I noticed prior to the whole divorce rumors you never saw Madonna’s children. I mean every once in a while you may see Lourdes shopping with Madonna, but now it’s every time you turn around you are see you paparazzi shots of her children. I know that some people don’t agree with me but I just can’t help but see her in that cold and “frozen” (a little Madonna humor, a little pun intended) light certainly not “a ray of light” (okay I shouldn’t throw Madonna songs around like that, I’ll stop.)
Just watch the Ice Queen’s PR machine continue to try to spin this situation against Guy from every angle until something strikes a chord and catches hold, creating public animosity against him. I always thought he was pretty decent, compared to her anyway.
I know he loves Rocco more than life itself and wants to protect him from his freakish mom’s psychosis and domination in NYC. Stay strong Guy, and stay involved 100% with your son, no matter if the Ice Queen gets her way with ripping Rocco out of Britain and throwing him to the wolves in a new school system and set of friends in NYC.
Be careful.. you’re too quick in judging Madge, IMHO. A woman doesn’t resort to this kind of contract unless HE abused her first. She had nothing like that with Sean Penn, Carlos Leon or Warren Beatty. Ritchie is framing her as the b*tch and you guys are buying into it.
Sorry but with most folks having witnessed 25+ years of Madge’s narcissism on full display, I doubt that anyone needs to “frame” her as a b*tch.
I think marriage contracts like that are a mutual agreement to help a couple get past problems. If they couldn’t communicate, they needed this.
Plus, do we know EVERYTHING in there? I doubt it would be so one-sided.

I’ve never heard of a marriage contract written in such a condesending way to humiliate and emasculate one party (and I understand using the word emasculate could confuse who I’m talking about). Her other relationships hardly lasted long enough for this to occur and I can imagine where Sean Penn would have told her to shove it if she’d tried it. But she wasn’t so “evolved” then was she?

madonna was not married to warren beatty (he just “f”ed her), nor was she married to carlos leon (she just used him for sperm). as for sean penn,they were very young. they were both just starting on their path of fame. i think madge is a big control freak, and i hope guy does NOT allow her complete control over their kids.
He looks very relieved in photos since the split. Now he can watch t.v., read a newspaper and eat whatever he wants which he wasn’t allowed to do at home before. He’s pretty good to have lasted over seven years.
Sounds like typical marriage counseling “fight fair” business to me. If it is, then she would be held to the same contract. That being said, the fact that she is throwing money at Guy in order to gain full CONTROL of the children is very upsetting to me. What kind of a woman wants to cut a father out of their children’s life like that? I hope Guy fights her tooth and nail on the custody of Rocco.
Also, she didn’t have kids with Sean, she had a passing “thang” with Warren and Leone was so far out of her league what control could he have wrestled from her? None whatsoever.
And now that the divorce is in full force Madonna seems to want to hold her children while in full view of the cameras. She used to have the surrogates do most of the schelping before the divorce went public. She is fake on so many levels. Miss Fakey SSSSssssssssnake.

Friend works with many celebs and says that Madonna is the only one to request signatures on reams of pages of non disclosure agreements.
Hope Guy Ritchie stands tall and keeps Rocco and David in the U.K. Can’t imagine the horrors Madonna would visit on the sons given how she’s treated their father.
