Here are even more photos from the LACMA event honoring Clint Eastwood. For some reason, Uma Thurman left NYC to come out to LA to do this event. Look… I like Uma, I really do. I think she’s cool and pretty and well-adjusted for a movie star. But Uma has been bugging me lately because I feel like she goes to opening of an envelope these days. Like, she says “yes” to every invitation. Not only that, but she’s started really overdressing for events too. Like, most women at this event were in cocktail dresses, but there were a few simple gowns. Uma went all out in a giant silk skirt WITH A BUSTLE and a fug blouse. It’s overkill for the event, I think. Plus, the outfit is just kind of ugly together. The old Uma, Uma Circa 1998, would have paired a giant bustle-skirt with a cropped, sequined McQueen bustier, and it would have been daring and interesting. This just feels old and Victorian, like she’s in costume.
Speaking of overdressing, Olivia Wilde is really trying to make it happen. This Gucci dress is gorge, don’t get me wrong, and it’s maybe my favorite thing ever on Olivia. But to this event? Once again, it’s overkill. This is the kind of dress she should wear to the Golden Globes, not to an event for a director you’ve never worked with. She does look beautiful, though, so she gets more points than Uma. Incidentally, did Olivia get new boobs? She was flat as a pancake before.

No hate for Uma from me. She has a bit of a Tilda Swinton look here. I think she is at every event because her career hasn’t been stellar since Kill Bill but she has better projects coming up so hopefully her career will make a 180 (is that the right expression?).

OMG, WHAT is Uma WEARING? Like, seriously, WHAT IS THAT? It has to be the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen! Way to look even an incredibly pretty, slim and tall woman look fat and matronly. She has to be the worst dressed of the two.
Olivia looks fine- FOR HER. She usually looks like hell, and this dress is pretty and it shows off her bod, so that’s good. Hate the make-up and hair though. Oh, and I don’t think she got new boobs. She’s STILL as flat as a pancake, but this neckline is making the most of it. In fact, this dress would look incredibly trashy on any woman who is NOT as flat as a pancake.
I like Olivia so of course I think she looks gorgeous! I think the girls are natural. You can usually tell when they are fake.
i miss the uma from the 1990’s too. she use to dress really cool, with no make up, and her hair was long and natural. she could really pull that look off.

And Olivia-that dress is the perfect color for her. It looks amazing with the skin tone. I don’t know what happened with her boobs, but they look excellent!

Olivia is too tiny to be wearing Spanx like that. Spanx on a lil person makes them look too ‘hard’ and curve-less.
Uma looks to be wearing a hospital gown that’s been ‘pinned’ to fit better.
Maybe Olivia gained some extra weight, or she has a great surgeon.
I think Uma’s face looks awful and fake. She looks like a tall, blonde Kardashian.
Olivia looks like she’s gained some weight; I think that’s where the boobs came from. She looks good! Also she tends to wear long stuff when she’s heavier because her legs show it the most.
Olivia did admit to gaining a bit of weight following her divorce from that Italian prince (was it last year already? feels recent…) anyway her cleavage looks natural and fleshy, it looks like they’re from her weight gain, unlike blake lively variety bolt-ons. the tiny bit of extra weight suits her, i think she looks gorgeous.
uma is known for some quirky stuff (swiss miss kimono of 2004, anyone?) but if she would have ditched the bustle and gotten better shoes this wouldn’t be so bad.
Totally agree with your asessement Kaiser. I like Uma, but she looks terrible. She is overdressed and not even well dressed at that. Oh dear. As for Olivia, she’s very pretty but again, her dress is a little too formal. She should have worn something a little more flirty and chic.

Uma’s dress looks like she is trying to smuggle Peter Dinklage into the event under her skirt.
Its the “She needs to do squats” comment that sent me to this place, but there were a few others. I just want to point out that sometimes reading this blog is like listening to a bunch of arm chair warriors swilling beer and screaming explitives at a football game. Frankly unless you can bounce a quarter off your own stomach you should probably shut up.

Olivia’s dress to me is a little tight, tacky, and severe at the same time. Don’t think she has new boobs though, just think she’s filled out a bit and looks healthier. If I had to choose, I’d take Uma’s bohemian bag lady look, believe it or not. It is awful, but at least it’s interesting (vs. hoochy mama).
I just can’t with Olivia’s jaw. It’s just such an unattractive feature. So…masculine.
But the dress looks great on her.
I absolutely love Uma, but what the h$$& was she thinking with this get-up? Does she not own a mirror? Sigh…..love her makeup. Olivia looks wonderful; I am jealous of women who can go braless. She carries her weight in her thighs, but the dress fits well.
Both dresses are absolutely hideous. Olivia’s looks cheap as hell with that tacky thing attached to the front, and Uma’s makes her look way larger than she is.

While looking at Olivia I realized I can totally see her nipples. At which point I got distracted by my jealousy and the fact that I cannot wear a deep v like that without looking skanky. 🙁

I would say Uma was the most overdressed.
However from the neck up she looks amazing – the makeup, hair styling and jewellery work great. But the dress – ugh. What was she thinking.
As for Olivia it’s the opposite : too much eye makeup, the pony tail really doesn’t suit the shape of her face, it makes her jaw really stand out. The dress is quite flattering though, and it’s nice to see people wearing different colours, at least she went for it.
Olivia looks like she has a sandwich in her jaws or something..while her dress IS pretty, the ponytail sohws too much.

I agree completely with the person above me. Just out of interest what would you like her to look like a duck who has thousands of operations. And what is wrogn with a ponytail I didn’t realise they are so offensive I mean I thought they were a harmless way of tieing you’re hair up to stop it getting messy I didn’t realise they were monsters who try and annoy morons such as your good self. At least she looks natural unlike lots of celerbities who seem to love the drag queen look.

Wondering if Uma is pregnant? She’s got a bit of a bustle in the front too. If not… then I take everything back and I’ll say she looks great. 🙂

Uma: NIGHTMARE. she thinks she’s Meryl Streep in the French Lieutenant’s Woman. so sad. she has fallen so far down the ladder. used to be amazing and talented and cool. not so much anymore.
Olivia: not styled at ALL properly. her hair is a mess on top of her head, and a ponytail is dumb with this dress, IMHO. She is not quite fit enough for that dress (i say this as a REALLY overweight woman, who CAN pull off a column dress if it’s right for me). I like her boobage though. can’t really recall what she looked like before. her face is so striking, i’m usually fascinated by that, and not her body.
in comparison, Amber Heard’s whole package fascinates me. does that make any sense?

Personally I think they both look fine, I mean they are both pretty, apart from Uma, whos dress does look like it is maybe from the victorian period. But why is everybody bothering they’re just clothes! These people are both great in real life, unlike some morons *coughs* who seem to be commenting.
And as for all these morons commenting about Olivia not looking ‘fit enough for the dress’ I think it suits her. And no she may not be a stick insect or have huge fake boobs but sadly thats all that people seem to think celebrities should look like today. People also seem to have a problem with her jaw bone it is fine. What would you rather her look like someone who’s had so many face lifts that all they do is grin all the time, or someone who has had so much lip plastic surgery that they resemble more of a duck than a human?
