OMG, Jennifer Hudson looks so skinny in these photos. J-Hud was at the VHI Divas show last night (I believe it airs tonight on VH1), and she wore this little mini-dress and thigh-high boots. From a distance, I hated the boots, but in the close-up, I love them. Yes, they’re kind of tacky, but still… LOVE. They’re crazy and sort of delicious. Still hate the minidress, though. THAT is tacky. About a month ago, I praised J-Hud for “gaining some weight back” because she was at an event and she looked less “deflated” than she used to. But looking at these photos… she still looks kind of deflated. I like J-Hud, I really do, and I wish that she would realize that her face needs some extra weight. Another 10-20 pounds would make her look younger and less drawn.
There were some rumors that J-Hud and her fiancé David Otunga were splitting up, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. They’re been photographed together recently, and Jennifer talked about how David “saved her life” in her recent Ebony cover story:

The Dreamgirls star reveals in the December/January issue of Ebony magazine, that Otunga’s spontaneous decision to join the World Wrestling Foundation, may have saved her from being present when the tragic murder of her mother, brother and nephew took place in 2008.
“That’s one of the things that saved my life, because I could have been home with my mom then,” she explains about going to Florida to support her fiancé’s new career. “He wanted me to come out to Florida instead of going to Chicago. I flew out to see him; that’s why I’m still here.”
“I’ve never said that before, and I can’t believe I just said that now. But I didn’t know. He was just like, ‘I’m going to this wrestling thing, and it’s in Tampa. I’m going out there now, so you can come out there and see me versus going home.’”
She also opens up about why the couple, who got engaged in August 2008 and postponed their original wedding date after the family tragedy, has yet to walk down the aisle and say their I do’s.
“After that happened, I was like, ‘I don’t know what I want,’” she admits. “A lot of things have happened in my life. There are a lot of things that I need to get adjusted to before I do anything else. That’s how I feel about it.”

There are also reports that Jennifer might have to testify against her former brother-in-law, William Balfour, the man who murdered her family, in Balfour’s retrial. Which just shows you that there is still a lot of bad stuff to deal with. I don’t think it’s weird at all that she and David haven’t set a date yet – she’s got other stuff on her plate.

I saw her “fiance” on that awful show I Love New York, and he cowtowed to the She-Beast and swore up and down he wanted to be married to (abused by)the witch. Then brought his poor mother and sister who look like they really really wanted a quiet life and to NOT BE ON THAT HORRIBLE FARCE OF A SHOW, and they desperately tried to talk him out of it, but he was bent on fame instead of reason. That makes me wonder wtf his deal is. He claimed on the show he had a Law Degree at somewhere like Harvard, yet wanted to marry this abusive tacky woman (New York-I forget her name – who originally swore her dying devotion to Flava Flav, nuff said). And THEN, joins the WWF (?) Why would anyone with a top law degree do what he’s done? I question the guy’s motives and would be glad if she dumped him.

I always wondered how he could go from Harvard to WWF but even worse, how he could think that that New York woman was all that and then propose to Jennifer Hudson- who seemed the exact opposite. Wonder if he actually likes the weight loss or would prefer her to be chubby and insecure? She looks fantastic, just that the skinny body really makes her look like she has an enormous head. Still pretty.
She seems more focused on her weight then her singing or acting career. She followed up her Oscar win by doing SATC. Don’t understand why she didn’t run with her success. Now every interview or photoshoot is about her losing weight.
Enough. Do what you do best. sing/act.

as far as looking too skinny…..i don’t think so. i think she looks great. I think that b/c so many people in this country are overweight and obese that it warps people’s perceptions and makes them see thin people as being too thin. There are certainly women in Hollywood who are unhealthy skinny but I don’t think Jennifer is one of them. I think she looks amazing.

That must be incredibly rough to deal with all that. I kinda don’t blame her. She could have gone all Fantasia but she’s had an incredibly successful post-AI career. I mean wow. Her family was murdered. I hope justice is done. Sadly that hasn’t happened as swiftly as it should have.

She’s not heavy or fat by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn’t use “skinny” as a word to describe her; especially her legs.

Agreed. IMHO, she is skinny compared to her former body – not like ‘wow, what a skinny person that is.’ That being said, I think she looks great/healthy. I do agree with others though about her fug dress- much too short and tight for her legs.
I don’t think she looks unhealthy. She doesn’t look unhealthy at all. I don’t begrudge a girl for losing weight if it makes her feel better about herself, as long as she doesn’t look sick, which JHud doesn’t. The only person who gets to decide when she’s too skinny “for her” is the woman herself, imho.
CDAN posted photos of her wearing different outfits, within the same time frame (of two days or so). That dress pictured above simply hides her trouble spots. The other dress she wore was much less flattering and hid nothing in the mid/hip section.
I have also seen recent candid video of her walking outside a restaurant, and she definitely had a healthy amount of junk going on. She is healthy and not too skinny; carry on.
I think her weight is fine. The outfit and shoes are tacky as hell though.
It’s understandable that after that family drama she wanted some “security”, got engaged and then realised it’s maybe too quick and it reminded her of her family that won’t be able to take part in it? I don’t know but it’s her prerogative to get married on her and her boyfriend’s terms. Not the public perception. Some people get married instantly and some after years, it doesn’t say anything about the state of their relationship in my opinion.
What a joke. She’s not to skinny just right! I’m tired of people thinking they have a say so in what others choose to do with their bodies.. What matters most is she’s healthy, why should she care that you want her to stay unhealthy and obese?? She added years to her life by losing the weight, get over it.

Jennifer was too talented to follow her Oscar win with some cheesy role in SATC. She was way more talented the the people she played second fiddle to.

I think her weight looks good and I dont think she looks “tired” but the outfit URGH! Tragic. The dress is boring and far too short and the boots look like a cast off from the last time LaToya Jackson toured.

I completely agree! I’m 5’6″ and my body is happy/sustainable at a size 6.. When I’m a 4 or smaller it’s only because I barely eat and work out a LOT! And people constantly tell me I look too thin when I’m smaller than a 6.. It’s hard to maintain anything smaller because my body doesn’t want to be smaller! It sucks but I’ve become content with my curves
Another 20 pounds and she’d be over weight again. I think she looks amazingly better than she used to. But I wouldn’t call her skinny/to skinny and she’s a not a size four. Not with those hips and thighs. But that dress is fug

You can tell that she isn’t perfect by the close up of the boots and her thighs.

For the most part my post was positive. She does look good. She doesn’t look too skinny and looks healthy. My only complaint was that her face looks better with a little meat on it. Her features look harsh the slimmer she is. Just my opinion. To each their own.

I honestly don’t think she will ever have a perfect body no matter what size she is. When you go from being obese all your life to skinny – even healthy and working out — your body will never compare to one who was healthy and fit their whole lives.
Also think she is around a 4 and it’s not her true size, she is staving herself and by starving I mean skipping meals, eating very light obviously she isn’t rexie but to keep the weight down to this level I think she does need to restrict .. A LOT.
She would be mortified to gain any weight and have it come back to bite her like Oprah, Britney, Kirstie etc. Or she will gain SOME and say ” yes I entered an unhealthy eating regime and now I am better this is who I am suppose to be ” blah blah
I disagree with this. I know people who have lost a ton of weight in a healthy and accurate way and their bodies are ten times better than than some of their “always” healthy counterparts. My friends lost seventy pounds and she has the sickest body in our entire group. Everything is perfect she’s maintained it for years.

If you work out enough and eat properly, it is absolutely possible to maintain whatever weight you choose.

I think her career is doing well. Considering everything that happened in her life, plus becoming a mom, it’s not surprising she isn’t working 24/7. I’m sure she’s doing as much or as little as she chooses.

She reminds me of a “pez dispenser or a light bulb”.Please spare me the speech about how some thick/voluptious women need to loose weight because it can lead to high blood pressure, high chlosterol, etc…YOu can be be thick, voluptious, have curves and be healthy at the same time. Some women just look better with more meat on their bodies and yes she did have either gastric bypass surgery or the lapband. If she would have lost it naturally (working out and eating the rights foods), then her head wouldn’t be so big! And yes her fiance is suspect (on the downlow). Hell, he looks better than she does!
I just hope she never considers plastic surgery. I’m so sick of these actresses who feel like plastic surgery is the answer to their insecure physical issues. Even after plastic surgery, they’re still not happy so why bother with it.
Don’t know whether her weightloss is due to willingness to diet, insecurities or simply because she’s still facing harder times in her private life – even if with a bright smile to the public. I just hope it doesn’t weaken her singing abilities, like it did to for example Callas… then again, Callas was a bit different sort of a performer.
I actually think she looks quite pretty there. Too bad she ruined the look with those hideous boots. Jennifer falls into the category with Jonah Hill and the Entourage guy…they looked better with weight.

While looking at those photos in the news this morning, I thought, “She looks great! Trim and stylish with perfect hair and makeup. She is probably a few pounds slimmer but definitely not skinny by the standards of countries where obesity is not a problem. Her small yet rounded tummy can be seen in the photos, and her hips and thighs hint at curves under the dress and boots.
She needs a little bit more weight on her. I think after the murders, she tried to get control back in her life in some way, and this is how she did it. I don’t think this is natural for her. However, after all that heartbreak, I can’t blame her for trying to wrest some control back.
there’s so much cellulite in those legs that now I believe she had some lipo done. still doesn’t change the fact that she had to lose a massive amount though. and i think she looks great not too skinny. girlfriend looked good even before all the weight loss but she looks near model good now except for those cellulite thighs.

I think she looks great and very healthy at this weight, but she really shouldn’t go much thinner because you can tell by her face and skull size that she’s not supposed to be a skinny little thing. She’d look like an alien.
