In my mind, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had two great public appearances in a row, so they were due a bad showing. While I thought Angelina looked vaguely knocked up in her beige sack in Palm Springs, I also thought her hair, makeup and skin looked amazing. And then she upped her game for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards two nights ago, wearing a great combination of gauzy white and black leather, with her hair and makeup once again looking great. But last night, I feel like Brangelina faltered a bit. Brad and Angie did an appearance at a screening of In the Land of Blood and Honey in Washington, D.C.
Maybe they’re jet-lagged. Maybe they were up all night, boning in our nation’s capital. Maybe it’s just bad lighting. But they both look kind of rough to me. I’m even throwing shade on Angelina’s Michael Kors coat! Usually, Angelina brings the coat pr0n. I think it’s the length and seeming “stiffness” of the coat that’s throwing me off.
Also – I’ve noticed that a lot of you have been commenting on Brad’s recent squintiness. Considering he’s started wearing glasses in public more often, I’m assuming that his eyes are getting weaker as he ages. And as someone who has worn glasses and contacts for much of her life, let me tell you – when your eyes get used to being supported by glasses or contacts, and you go out without that support, you squint. Part of it is that you’re trying to see. Part of it is that you’re more sensitive to light. Or, you know, he could think that squinting makes him look cool. But I think it’s just that his vision is compromised and he’s still adjusting.

Unless you all are world travelers, you have NO idea about how hard it can be and how tired you are. I’ve been in the UK for TWO weeks this time and am still on Cali time. I can’t fall asleep until 5 or 6am. It’s awful. By the time I adjust, we go back stateside in 4 weeks.
Great for really big under eye dark circles. They look tired to me.
And I HATE the coat. Gives her no waist at all. It looks budget to me. Kors, not good man. Angie should wear Burberry, would look fantastic on her and they put an edge to a lot of their stuff, perfect for her.

Angie wore a Michael Kors coat on the red carpet. Her dress was from The Way We Wore vintage store in Los Angeles, and her shoes were Christian Louboutin. Meanwhile, Brad’s suit was from one of his faves: Tom Ford.
I like Brad in Tom Ford.. always. There are not pics yet of the dress. Just a twitpic of her standing behind a stand giving a speech. So not sure if there will be any pics of the dress. This was a much more low key Premier. I saw really close up pictures of her face and it is just out of this world beautiful to me. She is not using fillers and botox. I don’t care what anyone says. She is aging naturally. and I find that quite beautiful
Brad has always had a squint. And I think over the years the flashes have hurt his eyes. He even said that recently. and that all the flashes make him see green long after. So them being who they are the flashes are unreal.
But they look great to me.
I don’t really like her, but I usually love her coats. This one tho…I like the coat itself, but it’s too big–too big in the shoulders, the collar, the waist, and the sleeves are too long. It would’ve been beautiful if it had fit correctly.
Brad looks better in Tom Ford suits they fit him like a glove. He’s so good looking . The Michael Kors coat is little too big (mostly the sleeves) but there are photos of Angie in just the dress and she looks gorgeous as usual. But it is a great coat.

Also, I think some of his quint is just the way age is settling in around his eyes. He’s always had sort of squinty/twinkly type of eyes and it just seems the skin on the lips is drooping.

The coat is an awful length, the sleeves are too long, and the fabric looks like cardboard. As to Brad’s face, he’s not a spring chick anymore and it is showing (as it should). There is nothing worse than the “Bruce Jenner mask” on a guy. We’re all getting older and that’s part of life.
Brad’s face would look super HOT for a man his age if he’d do two simple things:

I think they didn’t bring on the glamour because it’s DC and they wanted more of a respectable vibe. That coat just looks really stiff and scratchy to me and I love Michael Kors.
As for the glasses people he’s admitted several times that his eyes aren’t that good anymore and that he’s affected by the lights on the red carpet. Most people even those who at one time had good eyesight end up needing glasses once they hit their late 40’s and 50’s. So sick of people making fun of him for that. It’s just ridiculous.

Angie does not smoke, sit in the sun, or sunbathe, and it is obvious she eats very healthy. Furthermore, she has the gorgeous genes of her very pretty mother, Marchelien Bertrand, who had great skin and beautiful long hair thick hair and her father, Jon Voight, who was very sexy back in the day.
Her bone structure, eyes, lips and hair are hereditary. Look at her brother as well.
She has BEAUTIFUL, LUMINOUS skin. The shape of her big green eyes captivate anyone who looks at her. Too many reporters and onlookers have pointed this out time and time again. If you check out YouTube you will see people’s reaction to her face when they are close-up. Usually they are mesmerized, erego the screaming and the “you’re so beautiful” yelling comments.
And it is not likely that a long-term smoker who spends half the year destroying her skin by sitting in the sun (Aniston) is going to have beautiful skin. Hell, you are lucky that her teeth are not stained. But then again, she just stopped smoking, so we will see how long she stops.

I just went to that last link where they have extreme close ups of her face. This is a woman aging naturally. She has under eye lines, the pics YOU put up clearly show her furrowing her brow, and she has small wrinkles and marionette lines. That said, GORGEOUS and NATURAL!
This can be done, ladies. I’m 42 and haven’t done a thing other than slap some olay on once in a while. Everyone thinks I look ten years younger. I have fine lines and stuff, but I got those from smiling at my children or husband. Things and memories I DON’T want erased.

not a huge fan of the conservative DC coat look but can someone please hypothesize as to why and how her skin is SO gorgeous? it literally reflects light–how could one achieve that?
I wonder about her skin too. She is helped by genetics and the fact that she has never been a beach bum/tanner. So even if her lower body fat percentage can exaggerate wrinkles, she doesn’t have uneven tone or texture.
What else? Great make-up at events that is luminous rather than cakey? Regular dermabrasion/peels? It is definitely a deliberate effort to downplay clothes and accessories and highlight her natural beauty–hair, skin, eyes, figure.
A good dermatologist, regular exfoliation, probably of the microdermobrasion kind, regular facials and makeup with a higher refractive index than skin that will bounce light off, possibly one of the “mineral” kinds.
While you are probably right about what she does you can’t make bad skin glow like that with all the money in the world there are some people born with great skin and Angie is one of them.
It’s amazing what they can do these days to any kind of skin. Pitt has notoriously bad skin, having suffered from acne as a teen apparently, yet he’s quite obviously had some dermatological help over the years to repair the damage and you notice nothing now. I’d wager that she might have a bit of highlighting makeup (ie: lighter than her foundation) on the parts that would normally catch the light first that gives a big boost to the “glowy-ness”. I also suspect, especially since she doesn’t do much sun, that she also likely uses Retin-A gel on her face. That stuff is awesome and will give baby’s bum skin if you use it regularly. It’s also possibly the reason that HW starlets like spray tans so much, because it makes your skin ultra sensitive to sun, so less than an almost total sunblock is a no no…
I think it’s illuminating make-up that causes her face to shine. If you look at other actresses they have the same beautifull looking skin. Lancombe makes a nice one.

So, no. The critics are split on it. It is not a critical success.
The movie ITLOBAH has lready received a Golden Globe nomination. So, let’s use some logic here. Which “thinktank” is more respected of critical acclaim… a Rotten Tomatoes endorsement…or a Golden Globe nomnation? Furthermore, she has already received two awards for directing this film.
The film IS a critically acclaimed successful film. You haters are like barnacles on a boat.

It is a website that takes critics reviews of films and creates a percentage of how many critics liked them. 60% of critics like something and its considered ‘fresh’. Less than that and its ‘rotten’. In The Land of Blood and Honey is currently coming in at 48%.
They don’t ‘endorse’ things; it’s just plain facts and numbers. I know you want it to be successful really really badly but critics are split on it.

By the way, I don’t trust the Golden Globes when it comes to Jolie anymore. After last year’s ‘Tourist’ nomination (20% of critics liked that one) which everyone knew was just a ruse to get ratings, her movie could be a total crapfest and they would nominate it just to get her to come.

This woman is only 36 and her film record is very strong and cannot be denied. She is now at the point where she is a true artist, willing to take risks and use her own money to express her talent. And yes, I admire women who push themselves out of their comfort zone and who operate based on their passions in life. And THAT is who Angelina Jolie is, and she is well respected for her craft, courage and determination.
Too many of us sit on the fence waiting for something to happen. She does not let fear stand in her way, which is why she is so successful. If you are intimidated by her confidence, by all means join the rest of the JenHens and haters.
By the way, anyone of us could have the success that Jolie has if we had the courage to move forward and not worry what others will say, think or do.
Everything about this movie exemplifies her strength in character. Look at what she had to endure to make this movie. She is fully aware that in life there are no guarantees, and she manages to move forward amidst controversy, conflict and oftentimes without public approval. This woman is intelligent, responsible and successful.
At the White House just about all,from the Supreme Court judges, the President and Washington DC’s elite has applauded this movie. She has received standing ovations on more than one occasion each time she accompanies a screening of her film.
Yes, there are some who idolize her, but MOST people RESPECT her for her hard earned, long-standing accomplishments.
I would call this movie her 7th baby. And I stand by my words that this is a successful movie on many levels.

I OBVIOUSLY took into account many more resources than just at Rotten Tomatoes and the other one when I reached my conclusion that this movie is critically acclaimed. Either google it, check on the IMDB website, or check other sites that have been posting the critics reviews OUTSIDE of the two you mentioned.
Angelina will pick up Stanley Kramer Award from the Producers Guild for ITLOBAH very soon. Morgan Freeman will present the award to her. I posted this on the more recent thread but Angelina was awarded “Personality of The Year” by Dnevni Avaz, the popular newspaper with the highest circulation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Just about everyday there is a new, positive write-up on Angie’s movie. As you can see I do not agree with you and there is too much evidence to support that it is critically acclaimed.
As I continue to read more reviews and hear about new awards, I may bring it to the attention on a blog. You could have easily fond the same information that I found on the internet but you did not.

I have googled the film. Have you? If you had and you were being honest and could get past your fawning over Jolie, you’d notice that about half of the reviews and opinions are negative.
I get that you like her and you want her ‘7th baby’ to be a super duper success, but it’s just doing ok.
Have you looked at the critics awards nominees? LA, New York, National Society-not a single nomination for Jolie’s film.
I’m just presenting facts. But you can pretend that its critically acclaimed all you want and that’s fine because it is your right. But based on searchable, provable facts, the film is at best ‘just ok’ according to the critics.
She always looks terrible to me. I know she’s considered one of the “most beautiful women in the world” but she doesn’t even try to dress remotely stylish. Her colors are ALWAYS drab, the cuts shapeless. I like Michael Kors, but that coat is awful. She obviously doesn’t give a f*&k.

I love that grey coat-i like the shape and fall of it, and it does look stiff but warm, and suits her. I like it. Brad’s suit, on the other hand, is weird. looks like what you wear to a cousin’s wedding or something. He can dress, when he wants to. I think he was trying to complement her style here, and for D.C., go 3 piece suit politician style. but this suit does not work on him.

It’s a COAT. What color do you want? Electric blue? Magic magenta? It’s a beautiful shawl collared wrap coat. Soft gray is a lovely and practical color for a coat.
When you are in cold weather you tend to wear coats a bit longer though this may be a very recent purchase (as in that day) which hasn’t been hemmed yet. DC weather has been fluctuating between really warm (in the 60s) to freezing with flurries – maybe they didn’t expect the cold.
She looks like she’s either a flasher or wearing a bathrobe–or maybe both.
He looks consistently icky.
lol, the negative comments on the jp’s today are because so many negatives the other day on their idol, it’s funny because, what was said about ja/jt are true, but they only make things up that are false about jolie/pitt, we have our own eyes, remember? we see them, both couples, anyway, brad hair looks shiny and washed, he looks good in that suit, it’s fitted, jolie looks great also, beautiful couple, brad is a handsome guy, get over it, angelina is beautiful.

Brad is getting it in every chance he gets with a very willing partner and he ain’t lettin up either. You see how he looks at her, like he wants to devour her. Plus, he is very proud of his lady love.
Don’t be surprised when another baby is on the way. These two get lots of practice!
They have enough money to buy clothes that fit. Brad’s suit fits better than the one yesterday, but it’s still too long at the wrists. And it does look like he’s lost a lot of weight. They both look like they’re playing dress-up in their parents’ closet.
The leather outfit Angelina had on makes me call it now that she’s pregnant. She looked fabulous.
The dress is The Way We Were. It’s just below the knee and sparkly and very pretty.
She has to stop the botox & fillers NOW. She is approaching the hideous wax statue/Kim K wax face look.
This coat indicates that she is so thin, she can’t fit a standard size.

Her coat looks a little too big on her, like she got a tall size off the rack. But she is just so breathtakingly beautiful, you really don’t even notice the coat, her face is so mesmerizing.
Whoever said that Brad’s sleeves were too long doesn’t know how suits are supposed to be cut. They are just the right length and where they are supposed to be.
I kind of hope that she is pregnant. I’d love to see another mini-Brad!

I agree with the writer, Brad’s new squint could definitely be due to old eyes..lol. (His eyes are only a year older than my eyes, so I def can relate). I looked at that coat, and can’t figure it out. It’s not exactly bad, but it sure isn’t great either. If it doesn’t make you want it, after being modeled by Angelina, then…meh. The color is great, but ITA, too stiff of an A-line. Reminds me of what my mom made me wear as a child, and just felt so bulky.
Michael Kors is a hack. Always has been. Hasn’t had an original thought or design his entire career.

She looks better in the coat than 99.9 % of the poulation would. Not a fan of either of them but she is gorgeous, but he on thre other hand always looks like he needs a shower and shave.
Maybe its a kinky thing. Maybe Brad dared her to wear a trench coat over some sexy lingerie. Or maybe she just wanted to look like a sophisticated director. Or maybe she is liberating herself from fashion critics.

the length is frumpy. she is too young to wear that length..also, grey is not a great color for her. Love Michael Kors, and it was probably cashmere, but wrong, wrong…wrong…

Just looked at the pics again and I am taken aback by Angelina’s beauty. It’s not just how she looks on the outside – she radiates all sorts of inner beauty too. She seems truly happy and fulfilled… good for her.
AJ did not vote for Obama in 2008, yet she and BP show up at the White House unannounced, and uninvited to promote her movie, thats takes a lot of nerve. CNN reported that they were there to get support for Bosnia,and her movie of course. I wonder if she tried to arrange a playdate for her kids,along with her other shameless promotional acts?

You can always tell when she’s botoxed because that giant forehead vein disappears. To the person who said that she can’t be botoxed and prematurely aging at the same time, yes she can. Botox doesn’t make people look younger (even though some like to believe it does), it causes the skin around the injection to swell and thus wrinkles smooth out but the person has that weird swollen, alien appearance. That’s why Angie’s giant forehead vein disappears when she’s botoxed, her forehead swells around it. And as other posters pointed out, the reason that she looks prematurely older is because she’s so emaciated and it gives her face that hollowed out appearance. So yeah she’s both botoxed and prematurely aging.
The vein in her forehead only appears when she’s emotional like when she’s laughing really hard or when she’s stress or something it’s still there.. and puleasee.. she’ll admit it when she’s using one just like your idol ANISTON who said she did try botox you can see that in the MARLEY and ME movie jennifer face was puffy.
First of all, My Idol Aniston?? Are you kidding me with this?? Why is it so difficult for some people to understand that it’s not always about Jolie/Aniston? Yeah some people actually dislike Jolie and Aniston has nothing to do with it. I’m not an Aniston fan and I couldn’t care less about her or any of her movies. And that doesn’t change the fact that Jolie’s ginormous forehead vein is present even when she’s just slightly smiling, not laughing hard or making any stressful facial expressions. She doesn’t need to say it, it’s obvious. She also has those bunny lines when she smiles which are tell tale signs of botox use.

I think the color of the coat clashes with her hair. If she still had dark hair it would probably be fine.
