Kate Beckinsale was on The Late Show last night in a tight sequin one-shoulder Donna Karan gown. She paired it with Louboutin slingbacks and big diamond Neil Lane hoop earrings. She was promoting the fourth Underworld movie, Underworld: Awakening. As Lainey mentions, it looks like she was dressing for an awards ceremony, not for Letterman. She’s so pretty but she constantly overdresses and overstyles herself. Her hair extensions were also ridiculously long as usual. For some reason her hair bugs me like that as it often looks very fake.
On Letterman (video above) Kate told some funny stories involving her 13 year-old daughter. She said that her daughter, Lily, thinks of her mom as embarrassing now. She also shared a photo and a story about parasailing with Lily on vacation in the Bahamas. It was basically terrifying for both of them. I’ve seen other interviews with Kate and she’s always funny, prepared with good stories and completely “on” without seeming to try too hard. (Apart from her fashion.) She never shares anything particularly revealing and she’s clearly got the game down.
In terms of how I feel about her, I’m basically neutral. She seems to get papped a disproportionate amount to her level of fame, and I’m sure she sets up candids. She’s not offensive in any way, but I do find her a bit phony. She’s overrated, I guess that sums it up for me.

I like all of her style choices here (besides those stupid, overdone Louboutin platforms) but something is wonky in her face. She looks slightly different from a couple of years ago, in the nose/jaw region. I know she’s had a nose job in the past… maybe veneers this time?
I think the choice of dress probably has something to do with the visuals of Underworld… dark and shiny.
I rewatched “Much Ado About Nothing” last week. She looks completely different today. Whatever she’s had done (definitely nose and cheeks, maybe eyes and jawline) is top drawer. Too bad her career has never lived up to its full potential.

Yep, those thick soled shoes are just ridiculous. I understand the reason why the sole is thick, so that the hells can be higher, but it just looks stupid. Other than the shoes, she looks great, and I love the dress.
Yes, hooves! They just seem so tacky and awkward and the stiletto has just become ridiculous. If they clear plastic, you’d think the wearer is on ho stroll. And why, when they look so silly? Pray for the kitten heel, friends. Better yet, parade your Chucks or Tennies with pride!
It’s a bit much for Letterman, but she does look pretty great. And the white coat is fab.
I agree she’s had work done, but it’s been really well done. I think she somehow managed to enhance her best features, instead of just getting everything yanked tight and plumped up.
She is my girl crush! I’d love to look like that or have a body like that. I always enjoy her interviews.

Sorry Mara, but IMHO she is extremely thin and tiny! Could be a bad photo but in the second last pic her arms added together look wider than her waist!! Weirdly tiny across the chest making her shoulders look bigger than they are, surely that can’t be right??
She’s too thin, and has a receding hairline as evidence of starving/purging, like a lot of celebrities (although not nearly as bad a Posh Spice or that Rancic woman). Also, her nose job and implants made her such a big phony, and she doesn’t have the acting “talent” to make me forget what a phony she is. Another celebrity I wish would just go away.

She is so beautiful. It looks fantastic, but I never understand the compulsion to wear formal clothing on Letterman-type shows. I love it when a celebrity comes out in jeans for a talk show circuit appearance.
I think she’s overdone for Letterman but still pretty overall (although I agree with the people saying she had things done to her face). She’s got a great body and she likes to show it off.
I’ve never seen her talk in interview before. Couldn’t care about her fashion (but goddamn, what a body, fake or not!), yet I have to admit that she’s really good with media handling and seems right at ease in the hot spot.

She and Rachel McAdams have similar look (if Rachel put more effort into her appearance). Apparently Michael Sheen has a type. They are both stunning, IMO. Not sure what they see in him, as far as looks. Guess I need to watch him act in something.
I have a fair amount of respect for her. She’s a very good actress, and does all those action films on top of it, seems charming and funny and not too fussed about being taken seriously.

The black coat is nice, the white coat is beautiful, and the sequined dress is just wrong in all kinds of ways. It’s both too long and too short, and the zipper isn’t edgy, it’s just weird.

I agree with some of you who mentioned that her acting career has not blossomed. I think she might have ditched Michael Sheen for the Hollywood husband expecting a big push career wise but it never happened! She is from acting royalty though – her father was a well respected actor. I just wished she would branch out more in period pieces and leave the action genre behind.

C)I’m always amazed how her tiny, delicate(muscular, but still delicate)body is always put in those REALLY busy dresses and REALLY clunky shoes. Her styling could be so much better.
But the coat I like, it brings out her natural beauty perfectly.
Every time I see her I think about the time she came into the store where I used to work. Tights, over-sized shirt, sandals, little or no makeup and was still gorgeous! She was very nice but we were all still po’ed because we all thought actors are supposed to be ugly irl! Not fair! 😀
Wow, she looks beautiful. A bit overdone for Letterman, yes, but still….wow. I had to look up her age. I had no idea she was 38. I have to say, though, I am hard-pressed to remember what she’s been in. And if ‘Princess Kate’ wants to wear her hair long and curled she should take a look at how KB wears her hair. The difference is subtle but the effect is so much better.

I must be the only person in the work who doesn’t think she’s had work done. She just had a Hollywood makeover – she always had beautiful features and looks so much like her father (the late Richard Beckinsale).
In closeups, she has lots of wrinkles around her eyes and on her forehead. So she’s definitely not using botox.
As for Michael Sheen, I totally see why these girls fell for him. He’s scarily intelligent and articulate, and he also seems very charming.

My impressiono of her has always been that she’s high maintance. In a desperate to fit in kind of way.
The white coat is gorgeous! Oh I love it. I want it. But with two little ones I doubt I’d wear it (even if I could afford it.) I had some white shorts last year, my DD got chocolate on it. Got the stain out, then she got red slushie on it. Got that out, then they set on fire in a dryer at a hotel. Frustrating. So I give up on white for now.
Even though she has stretch marks on her breasts, I think she should wear more dresses that didn’t come up so high. They seem almost like a shell.
