Dear God, ARE HIS PANTS UNBUTTONED?!?!?! (Update: No, they’re not. But aren‘t you glad I made you look?)
These are new photos of Michael Fassbender at the LA Film Critics Awards on Friday, where Fassy took the award for Best Actor for his multiple film roles this year. Michael always (ALWAYS) looks like he’s just come from unleashing his beast on some poor (and lucky) woman. I don’t know if he cares about dressing like, say, Brad Pitt. I’ve noticed that some of suits could use some tailoring, and his fabric and color choices are sometimes odd. Take this suit, for instance. It’s rather shiny, right? It makes me think of leather, although I’m sure it’s just some kind of treated fabric. It also looks… I don’t know. “Off” I guess. Still, I don’t love Fassy because of his style or lack thereof. I love him for his talent, for his ginger, for his humor, for his BEAST. Here’s a little interview he did on the red carpet:
Irish actor Michael Fassbender snagged best actor for his work in four films this awards season: A Dangerous Method, Jane Eyre, Shame, and X-Men First Class. But it is Shame, which explores the disintegrating life of a sex addict, that has critics and audiences alike talking. He is up for a Golden Globe this weekend.
Fassbender said he did not find it difficult to switch between parts in rapid succession in the films he completed months ago.
“Now is a different time for me. My work is really eight months ago on Shame, Dangerous Method, whatever that was — 15 months ago. So, you know, I really concentrate very intensely at the time on what I’m doing. And so I wash away one from the next.
“I don’t preference. I just sort of do the best that I can to tell the story. So I keep it that simple. So, when it comes out now, it’s like, well, I don’t know, there’s not a lot for me to really say, or do. Because it’s like it’s open. The public really sees it and they take what they want from it.”

Like he’s just come from devouring his latest sweetshop. *inadvertently moans* He’s so much better in motion, and when you can hear the accent. Prepare yourselves – Fassy will be unleashing his beast at the Golden Globes tonight as well. *happy sigh*

Completely agree. He’s a fine actor, but the only time I thought he was hot was as Azazel in “Hex” and I’m sure that had more to do with the character he was playing (I have a fondness for bad boy types.) I was actually shocked to find out how young he is, I really thought he was in his mid to late 40’s.
That’s the appeal! With all the eternal baby and fresh faces in hollywood, it’s sexy to finally see a man rocking laugh and frown lines. He looks REAL and rugged. Also you know he doesn’t give a damn about spending lots of time in the bathroom…he’d rather spend that extra time in the morning and evening WRECKING YOUR SWEETSHOP. oh a hundred times yes.
He looks like a funny chap, more than just a pretty lad. That’s most of the hotness to me. That, and his hair-color.
He’s more of a manly man hot type to me… and his eyes are to die for… all greenyblue with smile lines! Didn’t you guys see Jane Eyre?

I don’t find him all that to look at either. For me it’s the straight eyebrows that clinch the “meh” – his face looks expressionless and bland. I would like to see him in a movie though, it could change my mind.
His suit jacket looks too small. It’s so tight the button looks like it’s going to pop off any second.

Very true. Sometimes I think the posters look to Kaiser on how to think about a certain actor and than follow her line of thinking. Not that I think it’s impossible to find him attractive it’s just sometimes the fawning seems very forced.

Yes he comes off badly in photos but watch him in one film and you’re hooked. Saw inglorious basterds, xmen and Jane eyre and now I know what his charm is. He’s alot like Liam Neeson or Viggo Mortensen in that they are all much “hotter” in action because you get their charisma rather than photos where it’s dependent purely on good looks.
Folks he’s Irish, not only that he’s from Kerry (so applies doubly in his case), we ain’t known as a nation of fashionistas!

I can’t believe that he is my age, he DOES look older (probably due to his fair skin I would say). And I prefer him with some face scruff too. He isn’t at his best here, oh and I don’t care for his suit either. 🙁
I have loved him since Inglorious Basterds but I do think he tints his eyelashes which I don’t think a guy should do. He’s a Ginger and doesn’t look right with black glossy lashes.
Despite the criticism that he gets for his wrinkled forehead, his tired eyes due to the lack of sleep and hard work, and his unconventional looks, he is still a phenomenal actor. I’d rather have a REAL man that is unafraid to look his age, to be expressive and not get caught up with the face lift/Botox hype. I’m sorry, but he’s not a young, pretty thing. He’s a very handsome MAN. Still, I agree with having his suit just a little bit more tailored.

Hot or not, ill fitting suits make me sad. It isn’t tailored to him. Coat’s tight around the torso and he’s got a phone or something in his pocket making it worse. The pant legs are too short. Hits in all the wrong places. Makes the waist ride too low & the shirt pop out. Maybe he borrowed it?

The jacket is pulling to one side. I don’t think its too small – just poorly fitted on him. The fabric doesn’t “hang” properly as they say at the tailor’s.

I just watched a clip of Viggo Mortensen’s Letterman interview where he talks about Fassbender’s acting methods towards the end. After that I immediately went to re-watch the trailer for A Dangerous Method, it’s so funny!
