The past week has been full of nostalgia for the halcyon days of Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie. Memories of their relationship (circa 2000-2002) do not make me sick, oddly enough. BBT is no prize these days, but people easily forget that for a moment there in the 1990s, he was considered a writing and acting genius because of Sling Blade and his Oscar-nominated turn in A Simple Plan. I even had some moments during Monster’s Ball where I thought, “Yeah. I’d hit it. I get why Angelina is with him.” Of course, he’s gross now. And while Angelina and BBT might have a friendly sort of post-divorce friendship, I can’t imagine that Angelina ever feels any sexual or romantic nostalgia for that man. I’m sure he feels it for her though – he’s making a movie sort-of-kind-of loosely based on their marriage.
Anyway, last week the Enquirer claimed that Brad Pitt was totally crying because Angelina was planning on meeting up with BBT and having an actual conversation with her ex. I don’t buy that Brad is that insecure, and I don’t buy that he cares that Angelina used to bone BBT. And now there’s further proof that Jolie and Thornton and still friendly – she’s written the foreword to his new memoir:

Cowritten with country music singer and author Kinky Friedman, The Billy Bob Tapes promises to tell, according to book description info on Amazon, “colorful tales of his modest (to say the least) Southern upbringing, his bizarre phobias (komodo dragons?), his life, his loves (including his heartbreakingly brief marriage to fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie), and, of course, his movie career.”

You know what I like about BBT’s comments regarding Jolie? He doesn’t talk about her beauty. He talks about how smart she is, how hard she works, how he’s proud to know her. And she in turn always talks about him with a great deal of respect, and I think she still thinks highly of him as an artist. I think that’s nice. Of course, I’m sure that the tabloids will turn this into something devastating. “Brad walks out after reading Angelina’s ’love note’ to BBT!” and “Brad Screams: ’You’re still in love with Billy Bob!’ as he cries and cries.” Et cetera.

Her nose looks the same. It’s funny that with all of the old shots and the one recent shot somebody can say she looks completely different. At least BillyBob adds a new dimension to the tabloid stories but it will just go back to Brad beg Jennifer to take him back.
The bridge of her nose is much narrower and more refined now.
I LOVE her and think that the nose job turned her face into perfection. It’s very subtle, but a noticeable difference.
There is NO nose job- rag on Jolie for other stuff (preferably true stuff), but it is clearly the same nose she was born with…the biggest I saw her nose was when she was pregnant (like me & my feet grew!); her nose also looks bigger without makeup. There are TONS of pictures of her from a very early age, pictures of her mom, dad, brothers, uncles, grandparents, biological children- where is the giant nose in the Bertrand/Voight family that “used to be” Jolie’s? So silly.
People are entitled to their opinions and I agree with Janie that Angelina seems to have had a nose job which makes it perfect! (and there is nothing wrong in wanting & getting to look your perfect self)
She was a lot younger in the pictures w/ Billy Bob… it is well-documented that people’s noses continue to grow/change as they age, and I don’t see enough of a difference to assume she had anything done.
However, I definitely think she has an eating disorder and she is very gaunt in newer photos when compared with the ones shown here from the time he was with Billy Bob. I know she was always thin, but come on!

It’s no big deal at all. I have no problem with plastic surgery as long as you don’t overdo it…she makes me wonder how much better I’d look with a subtle nose job (I’d love to meet her surgeon). It’s also nice to know that even someone as perfect as her isn’t completely natural. I don’t know why people are reading my comment as a negative thing–I was just making an observation.
Angelina looks like she has had a lot of work done. Just comparing her photos with Billy Bob to the photos now, it looks as though she has had her lips thinned (I know that sounds stupid, but she does look different), among other things – so as to not look like her father. She must have a great surgeon.
I think she had her upper lip trimmed down as well. Looks good, either way.

Never – nobody gets their lip reduced, especially at a young age! People want full lips. Lips thin as you get older – need all the fullness they can get.
I don’t think she’s done anything to her upper lip. If you look at pictures of her when she was younger, like when she was in “Hackers”, you’ll see that she has always had a thin upper lip; just how thin it looks often depends upon the angle at which it is being seen.
You also have to remember that as people get older their faces and bodies do change, which in Angelina’s case would account for her upper lip getting thinner.
She had the upper lip reshaped. Look at her teen lips through twenties. She had no cupid’s bow–just like Julia Roberts, now she has had it thinned slighly and a bow put in. It makes her lips look less trout-y while everyone else is filling it into be Angie-Jo circa 2000.
And Megan Fox…stop with the fillers. You looked MUCH better before you started down the path to being the next Jolie.

The link I am including shows Angelina from when she was a baby, and then all the way up to 2010, and her lips and cupid’s bow are the same – except for the lipstick/gloss she is wearing in each picture. Look at pictures 1 and 4, and then the 4th picture of this post. It hasn’t changed at all.

Although Halle’s quite obvious, but the result is just absolutely beautiful and natural looking. Both Nicole and Katie had like Angie a “refining” of the nasal bone and wings. To give it a more refined feline look.
If I’m not mistaken, Megan Fox had the same thing too. It is very minute work, that makes the face more photogenic, and graceful, without changing much of the profile.

Even in professional photoshoots, if it’s a straight on close up picture and they don’t photoshop it, her nose is still large as before……
Plus, all the hilarious comments above and below…you do realize she allegedly HAD HER NOSE JOB BEFORE BILLY BOB….so I don’t see how these pictures make it obvious? Shouldn’t her nose be the same as right now since she already had it “done” in those pictures?

Mary, your nose does change but it does NOT get smaller. It grows in size (one of the few body parts that keeps growing thoughout life). Unless you get pregnant, than yes that is the one instance where it gets larger and then smaller [after birth].
For me the most obvious change is her cheekbones. They changed her face shape from a bulldog’s to a that of a chisled barbie. Its pretty darn good work.

@Denise, that chubby round face looks so out of place on that body. Look at the photo of her (in the blue t-shirt) with Billy Bob. It looks like someone glued that head of an average sized person onto a skinny little body. Now I get why people *thought* she was so much heavier than she is now. It was all in her face and, when it thinned out, it really changed her appearance. I think she looks much better now.
Maybe it contributes. But I do think she probably had a bit of facial sculpting (lipo-ing cheeks) as well. Lots of celebrities do it.
I think she just, y’know, hit her 30’s.

I think you are right. Usually when you have full cheeks in your 20s, you get a little jowl-y when you face thins out. It looks great now, but her previous features gave her a more exotic look that was awesome. Plus the genuine smile didnt hurt either 🙂

When they broke up, it was reported that Billy said things like “f*cking her is like f*cking a couch” and now it seems he can’t praise her enough. It’s an odd thing Angie has with guys, first they hate on her and then they beg to be liked by making sweet-sweet comments, just like her dad has done.
This is just a guess, but maybe he bad mouthed her after the break-up because he was a bigger star than her at the time, but now that she is a mega star he realizes it’s more beneficial to be nice.

Actually I don’t ever recall BB saying nasty sh*t about Jolie after the split. What I do recall him saying though was he felt she was too good for him. I’m totally paraphrasing as I can’t recall his exact sentiments but I know it had to do with her being too intelligent, too altruistic, too close to perfection – and he felt he fell hopelessly short as her mate.
I thought he dumped her because he didn’t want any more kids and they were in the middle of adopting.. she went ahead with it and he left .. then didn’t he hookup with a younger girl and promptly knock her up??
Hadley, you could be quite right about how events played out during the split. BB was never known for having much integrity where women were concerned (serial womanizer, cheater and according to one ex, an abuser). I dug up the quote by the way about his split from Angie:

In the leather pants photo she looks just like Sybil Crawley. She looks a bit better with more weight on her bones IMHO.
She was at a much healthier-looking weight when she was married to pepaw. And I reallly liker her old nose. It was thicker @ the bridge, but it gave her face a cute pug look.

Angie’s nose changed because of a rhinoplasty. Not there’s a single thing wrong with that. I was a huge fan of her work back in the late 90’s. Now, not so much. She seems to have lost her sense of humor, which sucks, because she seemed like a fun chick. I heard an interview on some NPR-type show, and jeeeeez was she boring.
My faced thinned in my thirties and it became more gaunt as I lost weight. Angie borders on anorexia…I thought she looked sick in Wanted and she’s floating that way again.

For the Apologists: where else do her quotes on the marriage and break-up with BBT came from (2 famous ones in the beginning of the article for example)? Out of the air?! When people whip out timelines from years and years ago (their own interpretation quickly follows), we’re supposed to read it and be convinced of her “innocence” but a legit interview concerning this article is supposed to he crazy? Uh, no. I find it a good read actually. She went to a magazine and personally discussed the break-up and she threw him under the bus (sounds familiar?). She ain’t above selling her private life and making herself look better and other people bad, hard to fathom I know :D. And this is exactly why I think BBT didn’t fit in the picture anymore. Real reality check: Jolie was in Namibia filming when she received custody of Maddox in mid-March 2002. She was back in England before May 2002 with Maddox awaiting his US passport so he could enter the US. I believe Jolie was able to return to the US by late May or June 2002 when Maddox was issued his passport and citizenship.
No man nor woman for that matter who wants to be a parent of a specific child will relinquish ALL of his/her fatherly/motherly rights.Noone !!!

Where did BBT have the opportunity to be a proper father? Why would he think that Jolie wanted him as a father? How do we know he wanted to be a father? If he didn’t, it’s not up to Jolie to run to the press and say he didn’t want to be a father since it’s a personal matter and she should’ve known better. Oh and they jointly announced the adoption on March 26 btw. It seems like she makes swift decicions (as seen in the beginning of that interview concering DOGS) but in this case, a child, isn’t something you just do. You talk about it. I don’t blame BBT for anything. The dude had five children, whatever happened only Jolie and BBT know but to just say he didn’t want to father a child he barely saw is unfair. I don’t think she was that much thinner back then, just more youthful puppy fat on her face, plus her podgier old nose was less streamlined, adding to a fuller look in her features (how anyone can argue she hasn’t had a nose job boggles?…). She is probably one of the few actresses her age not getting fillers in her face (possibly botox though). For her to write the intro makes me wonder if he made a deal not to dish things she didn’t want public (fair enough).

If you put the photo of Angie in the blue shirt hugging BBT next to the current photo of her beneath the current photo of BBT you see that there is NO difference in the look or size of her nose. Why is it that exes can’t be just good friends without someone thinking they still have feelings for each other? Its so sad. She is clearly in love (still) with Brad and is very happy with him and their family. Why are people so narrow-minded?

For people talking about her weight she really was not that much heavier back than her upper arms were slitly fuller but from the elbow down they were still veiny and thin; The only big difference was that her faces was fuller but has thinned out over the years. If you look at the pictuer below you see that she always had long twig legs no matter what weight she is.

Exactly! Anyone that really, really looks at Angelina when she was younger should be able to tell that she has always been thin.
It cracks me up about the weight issue. Angie is a thin woman, even the modeling photos at age 15 she’s thin, she’s thin in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I keep waiting for that photo where Angie is a size 8-10 and she lost 25lbs like Nicole Richie.
And to believe people’s features don’t change as they become older. Look at Brooke Shields, gorgeous in her her teens and 20’s but her features started to change as she became older.
BTw, i think Shiloh looks like Brad and just has Angie’s lips. She looks more like her pitt cousins. Brad’s brother kids are gorgeous. Angie looks nothing like her Jon Voight, she always look like her mother. Now more so as she’s aging.

BBT was rumored to have cheated. He also left her right after she adopted a child to go on tour. She’s smart and mature enough not to be bitter about what happened at the end of her marriage. Angelina showed class, has never spoken ill of either of her exes. And she’s moved on wonderfully.

The vein-it comes out now when Angie gets stressed. The interview she did on 60 minutes had a section where she was talking about her mom, and out came the vein. The rest of the interview(s) you couldn’t see it.

I vote no nose job. Her face has refined down as she ages, as does everyone. She’s lost that slight fullness that the young have and that in turn refined her nose. She wears more eye makeup too which changes your face. She is just as skinny then as she is now. Unfortunately you can get away with that better when young. She’s just as beautiful now as she was then, she has just grown into herself.
Let me preface this by saying that I L-O-V-E Angelina, but it cannot be denied that she has had a nose job and more than one revision over the years. I understand that one’s face changes with time, but time does NOT build up the bridge of your nose on profile view!
Here is a site I found that shows side-by-side pix. Some are really good while others don’t show much. But the one that compares her profile (there is more than one – I’m talking about the “before” where she has bleach blond hair) removes ALL DOUBT about whether she hasn’t or hasn’t had her nose done. She absolutely HAS. Pretty sure she’s had her chin augmented too.

Sorry, everyone’s nose drops as they a get older. Her nose was more ski jump and dropped some to become straighter, it happened to mine, it happens to everyone with that kind of nose.
I’m with all the people who are saying that she never had a nose job. Her face changed enormously as she aged. She lost all the baby fat to reveal the bone structure underneath.
When people hit 25-30 they get more pronounced cheekbones and a stronger jaw line (if they were hidden under a fuller face). It’s just normal maturing.
I’ve seen very recent pics of her where her nose looks quite thick, and others were it looks super skinny and pointy and they were taken a couple of days apart.
So much depends on weird things like how cold it is, or how much water you’re retaining, if people use contoring makeup on their nose, photoshop, lighting, etc. etc.
Her brother, mother and father have the exact same nose, but I suppose they all went in for the same plastic surgery, right?
PS Billy Bob looks like a Komodo Dragon in that second shot and now it’s my worst phobia too!
I’m 25. I generally like the way I look but my face is too round and full. I can’t wait for it to get some definition. I’m sick of having “pumpkin face”. Looking at these pics of Angie at my age with a round face and then seeing how she looks even more beautiful now makes me look forward to at least one aspect of aging.

My gripe is not if Angie has had a nose job or not, (I don’t happen to think she has, and if has does, it wouldn’t change my admiration for her one iota) what I have a problem with is the comments that it is “obvious” she has. It is not. People’s faces change as they get older. And publications/sites which post pictures to “prove” that she has can also photoshop their pics to try to support their claims. Until Angie says she has, it’s all speculation. And I am sure that if she is asked she will answer truthfully.

AJ is far from the only celeb who gets scrutinized in this way. People overestimate what plastic surgery can actually accomplish. One thing plastic surgery can NOT do is make a person beautiful, in fact at times it can make a person less attractive (side eye to Kim K). It’s a roll of the dice, but the best candidates for PS are people who are already attractive, and have good bone structure.

See, I think part facial changes came after she got pregnant. Pregnancy will change a woman’s face for sure, especially the lower features such as chin and jawline. But she has definitely had a subtle nose job. I think the main difference is she changed the tip of her nose. Other than that I see nothing obvious about the change in her looks.
As for her and Billy Bob, I always thought they were a weird couple. I always felt she could do better and wondered how she could have gone from Jonny Lee Miller to him.

About Jolie’s nosejob (first comments I saw, skimming through), her nose is less meatier and stubby than before. The picture with the sunglasses is telling, her nose is really thick and in your face while pictures of her with sunglasses now show a more thinner, demure nose that isn’t obvious. That doesn’t just happen naturally. Celebs lie.

Its the lighting. The darker the environment is, the bigger your pupils get. If she were on drugs, her pupils would be pinpricks.
WOW has she had alot of cosmetic surgery on her face. She looks like a different person now than when she was with BIlly Bob. Many nose jobs. she and Billy have been friends for a long time. Brad too in fact. JLM and his wife came to her Premier. I find it nice that two divorced people can talk and move past a relationship that is over and was not meant to last. She as always spoken with respect for her exs. Even when she and Thornton first broke up. Which is why the tabloids don’t pull out her exs for their stories. It has been almost 10 year or more since she and he were married. A long time. Billy went on to have a child and Angie and Brad have a family together. I think the sad part in looking at Angie’s past relationships that Brad and his ex could not be in the same position. Billy is a very talented man.
Angie is not dumb. If she did in fact write the forward for his book she did so knowing what she was doing, and I’m also sure Brad was and is aware of it.

Nose job-narrower bridge. Balancing out of mouth with lower lip reduction, and possibly upper lip filled out or maybe with lower lip reduced the upper looks more balanced. Still think outer edges of upper lip look thicker than before. I thought she looked better before plastic surgery but of course she is still beautiful.

Looking at her pictures, there is no way she didn’t have multiple face adjustments. but, it doesn’t matter, they all do. I still have the same nose i was born with, it hasn’t change a lick, not even when pregnant. angie looks to have had her nose whittled at least twice. She was pretty then, and still has a pretty, yet augmented face. What she needs now is reverse liposuction.
I like Angie but she has totally had surgeries on her face, I just don’t understand how some of you can say she hasn’t I think it’s bleepin’ obvious! It is shocking how different Saint Angie’s face looks. She has such a juicy baby face in old photos. A plastic surgeon can’t remove baby fat. So, it isn’t surgery. I can’t help but wonder if something back then made her puffy. Maybe she had to take prednisone or something.
