Here are some new photos of LeAnn Rimes in Malibu yesterday, in what I can only assume was a prearranged paparazzi photo shoot, just like she admitted (to Chelsea Handler) she often sets up. I know LeAnn isn’t the most self-aware person, so even when I think she looks like hell in a set of candid photos, I’m sure she thinks she looks great. My point? LeAnn is obviously dressed up in these photos – there’s no question in my mind that LeAnn called some photographers and told them that she would be shopping at a certain time, and then she put together this outfit. And you know what? It’s not a bad outfit. I would probably like it more if I thought LeAnn just pulled something together at the last minute. But I bet she spent an hour on this “casual” look.
So you can imagine how much time she spends preparing for a red carpet. Our Lady of Oblivious Famewhores walked the red carpet two nights ago for the Hollywood Domino Gala. I’m kind of glad we didn’t have the photos – you can see them here. Prepare yourselves. There’s quite a bit of bony chest plate and wonky bolt-on action going on in those photos. The dress is Tom Ford, by the way. I can’t imagine Mr. Ford is happy that LeAnn is stuffing her lopsided bolt-ons into his dresses.
In other LeAnn news, you know how her music career is at death’s door? Well, she’s wants everyone to know that she’s totally open to being a judge on The X-Factor. Several weeks ago, Simon Cowell went on a firing spree and now there are several open positions on the American X-Factor. For your consideration, Simon, how about some LeAnn?
The latest name thrown in the ring for an X Factor judges spot: Singer LeAnn Rimes.
Sources say Rimes is interested in joining the Fox reality hit, with one source adding that she’s met with Factor co-producer FremantleMedia North America about the gig.
X Factor chief Simon Cowell is seeking to fill the judges panel spots vacated by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger before the second season starts production later this year. Sources say he’ll most likely hire two female talents to join himself and music producer L.A. Reid for a gender-balanced panel.
Cowell has not made firm offers for the posts, while the list of candidates continue to shift and official outlets continue to decline comment. But Rimes could make sense on a few levels for X Factor. First, she would add country music expertise, like Blake Shelton provides for NBC’s The Voice. That could also boost the show’s ratings since country music award shows have been one of the few TV genres to have successfully grown their audience in recent years. Rimes also knows what it’s like to compete in a TV talent competition since she first gained national attention when she was eight years old by becoming a finalist on Star Search in 1991. Plus, Rimes’ personal life, marriage to Eddie Cibrian, and weight issues — while polarizing — have also drawn plenty of headlines, which would spur press coverage of the show.
Rimes performed a tearful tribute at a concert last week to Whitney Houston, who Cowell considered for an X Factor gig before her death on Feb. 11.
Another name recently floating about for the Factor judges panel: X Factor UK judge Kelly Rowland. The British press have reported yesterday Rowland is quitting the UK series to “focus on her solo career in the U.S,” though sources say none of the UK spots have been decided yet. And the former Destiny’s Child star recently declared she’d be interested in switching to the U.S. version. “It would be awesome to be a judge over here for X Factor,” she told CNN. “I really enjoyed my time over in the UK being a judge.”
Other names circulating for X Factor posts include singers ranging from Vanessa Hudgens to Britney Spears.

From what I can see, Simon hasn’t said whether LeAnn is really in the running. I have to admit… it would be a career coup for her. Even though The X-Factor’s ratings for the first season weren’t that great, Simon is being given leeway to remake the show, and a lot of people think it might be a hit eventually. Would LeAnn help or hinder a struggling show?

If Mel B (scary Spice) can be a judge on the Australian X-Factor, Leanne can be on the US one. She only had one hit though. At least she can sing. Mel seems like a nice person but seriously, she did it for the money. Very bizarre seeing someone from such a mfg girlpop (sorry, Girl Power!) group give singing advice. At least the Spicies put the work in to maintain it for a few years. J-Lo on US Idol is no different. Her voice is mfg in a studio, she’s never properly toured. What cred has she to mentor people about singing?

What does LeAnn have going for her? She’s not that well known, is she? I think of her as a country music has-been of the 90’s. She’s small potatoes. Not a catch at all. Not glamorous either, as most of the X Factor judges are. Just very, very “meh.” Also, with all of her negative publicity, I doubt many people would watch it for her. And finally, she would become even MORE insufferable if they put her on the show. I, for one, don’t want to hear her braying all day and all night about her new, fantastic gig. Seriously, I would PAY Simon Cowell to keep this from happening. The woman is utterly insufferable.
As for Kelly Rowland – I doubt it. She screwed the English version by refusing to show up after she had a fight with one of the other judges. Extremely unprofessional of her. The show had to scramble to replace her while she played “sick.” I seriously doubt that Cowell has kept her name in his book of contenders.

It’s too stylist for a casual store run. The jewelry, the topknot clearly done by a hair stylist, the heels, the jacket and the earrings are the worst part. It’s like she’s stuck between a red carpet kind of look and pretending to be casual. Oh, wait. At any rate, Nicole Richie (who I’m not a fan of) did it better- with flip flops and quick, casual twist. The most jewelry she should have on are hoop earrings and a wedding ring.
I’ve never seen the Xfactor, but I did see Leann judge on some country version of Star Search, and my, but Miss Leann thinks she’s just about the savviest recording artist on earth, donchaknow.

Interesting you brought up Latoya Jackson, I think she would be great, she’s very sweet and entertaining and surprisingly smart. I watched the season of Celebrity Apprentice on which Latoya was a contestant. She really pleasantly surprised me. People picked on her really bad, for no reason. And she was sweet, classy and strong in spite of it. And best of all, (for me) she was pretty smart. She was my favourite contestant. I’m glad to see someone comment something positive about her. I would like to see more of Latoya, (certainly more than I would like to see LeAnn’s nostrils.)

LeAnn also really thought that she would get a role in the Spiderman movie with Kristen Dunst ( instead of Kristin), a role in the new Les Miserables movie, and a role in one of the 50s/60s sitcoms. We all know how that turned out.
Also, because it can’t be said enough, you got to love LeAnn’s constant name dropping of other artists and always calling people “dear close friends,” yet no one acknowledges her on twitter, name drops her, or even talk about her. They don’t go to her parties, invite her to theirs, or attend each others weddings. This has been happening since even before Dean came into the picture.
Also, LeAnn was spouting off on twitter that God has been answering alot of prayers lately. Wonder if that means she is pregnant and/or got an offer for Xfactor or some movie. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I think she’s trying to remake her image. Suddenly, she’s not posing with the boys as much, unless I’m missing something. I think she wants people to like her more and to get some work. Funny that Eddie isn’t trying to get a job. If she’s criticized for a bikini, she suddenly stops, but now is endlessly posing in clothing that exposes her chest. The cut out dress on Ellen, the Tom Ford dress, this maxi dress, the shirt unbuttoned to the navel, the exposed bra under the mesh top- does she really think she’s not completely obvious? I mean you have to hand it to her, she clearly thinks she looks great and she thinks her machinations are unnoticed and helping her career. That level of denial isn’t easy to achieve.
Watch any of her videos to know that she has been dressing sexy for a very long time, especially in all of her videos, in her underwear, braless long before Eddie came into the picture. But her boob job seems to make her play into that kind of dressing even more now.

LeAnn did a couple of “sexy” music videos and photoshoots when she was trying to break into pop music shortly after marrying Dean. She also started really working out around that time. However, that “sexy pop singer” thing didn’t work out and we didn’t see much of that anymore. Especially, not in her out and about pics. She often wore flip-flops, flats, and tennis shoes. She was mostly always reasonably covered up. Dean once said that Leann was very modest/shy about her body/nudity, etc.
It wasn’t until Eddie that she got super thin, got a boob job, wearing super high heels, and dressing “sexy” constantly.

There are so many more talented musicians out there who have both credibility and likeability. Good country artists who come to mind are Shania Twain, Reba McIntyre, Faith Hill. Non-country artists who come to mind are Vanessa Williams, Mariah Carey, Beyonce.

Janet Jackson and Britney really want it. Britney is too bland. He is in a desperate situation having fired three people and the other shows having casts that really have strong personalities and chemistry, so needs to get it right this time. The thing is? Simon Cowell has a brain and takes talent seriously. Britney would be great for the entertainment/peformer component. But you need someone who can really sing. I don’t care for Christina’s antics, but she can really sing. You want people with actual talent. Jennifer Lopez is a great actress and dancer, but a barely average singer. Someone like Marc Anthony, who can truly sing, would be great on a show like this. They need real talent. LeAnn *is* a good singer, but her personality is so off that it is asking for trouble to hire her. They need someone who takes the job seriously, isn’t looking to put others down needlessly, and is a true judge of talent. In other words, they need Simon Jr. times two or three.

She would be no good on the X-Factor. She is no longer a family friendly image. She can’t even sell a country album anymore due to her bitchy self-absorbed attitude. Besides, I don’t even understand why she would want to risk going on that show because that would mean more time away from Eddie which would mean more opportunities for him to cheat on her.
You can’t be serious? Lots of country music people have cheated and are married to each other. They weren’t ostracized. Only me, who follows gossip sites. The majority only know she cheated and people tend to forgive these days, especially because she has been in their lives since she was 15. She has been on the Country Music Christmas special, presented at the awards show, done a movie on the Country Music channel, sung Give on some humanitarian show, etc, since being with Eddie, so the country music industry hasn’t turned their back on her.
The reason he won’t pick her is she’s not higher profile in the industry anymore and most people haven’t been that aware of her for seven years or so. And to me, she looks bad a good portion of the time anymore (too thin, gaunt face, too tan in the face which makes her look harder). She used to be very cute girl three to five years ago, cute figure, cute personality. These days not so much, and Simon is all about looks.
Simon put Howard Stern on America’s Got Talent to huge uproar. He could care less. LeAnn would get a ripple of complaints compared to Stern. So that’s not stopping Simon if he thought she was right for the show. I see him picking someone more just onto the scene like Miranda Lambert or Kelly Pickler (American Idol) with more hype and recognition from the younger fans if he was going country. In fact, I would absolutely love Kelly on there. She’s so adorable and has been through the process.

Rimes’ presence on the show would likely help. She is controversial and people would be curious how she and the other judges interact. She does have real talent and would probably be forthright in her assessment of the competitors.
I bet Simon didn’t expect The Voice to come-out of left field and be such a success. Paula just didn’t cut the mustard this time around. In my opinion, Simon will need a heavy-hitting celebrity to catch the attention of viewers and I don’t think LeAnn has what it takes to get the ratings.

LR was never into dresses and heels before, except for awards and stuff. She was always in tennis shoes and casual clothes out and about. You’re gonna tell me that now that she’s trying to be a fashionista, she just happens to have, completely coincidentally, the same choices in clothes, purses, bikinis and shoes that Brandi has?? CHEESE AND CRACKERS!!! Leann Rimes REALLY is out of her focking mind. I’m sure Brandi called her all sorts of bad names when she caught Eddie cheating and Leann kept stalking him. Most women would do the same. So, Leann’s copycat obsession w/ Brandi is her way of telling Brandi “See, I’m not ugly, I can be just as good as you!”
My friends ex-husband’s gf does this crap to her (although in a much milder tone). When he was caught cheating the jump off would call MY FRIEND & taunt her. So my friend would be all like “WTF ever you ugly bitch!” And she is homely… Esp compared to my friend. DEFINITE DOWNGRADE & she knows it in the back of her head. But, it really did a number on this girl & started to mess w/her mind I think. All his friends tell us his jump off tries to imitate my friend (his ex), even wears the same perfume now.
I assume this is EXACTLY what happened w/Leann & why she SWFs Brandi. IMO Brandi had every right to call her bad names & insult her when she was stalking her husband. What woman wouldn’t do the same? But it’s honestly done a number on Leann who is ALREADY INSECURE & I mean DAYUM, Brandi is gorgeous. Wouldn’t want her as my husband’s ex!
jezi, you are way too concerned about Leann Rimes…if her copy of Brandi Glanville’s look is creepy, your constant comments about her are more so. Do you pick and choose who you diss for cheating? Paul Newman and his wife? Angelina and Brad? Jennifer Aniston and her new boyfriend? The list really goes on and on, yet you seemed interested in Leann and Eddie…what is your deal? Do you not have a life other than Leann, Brandi, and Eddie? Do you have children? A job? A spouse? A significant other of any kind? Hobbies?

Jezi is apparently a personal friend of Brandi’s so it stands to reason she would be interested. And if you think the problem with Rimes is just cheating (it long passed that ages ago) then you really have no idea at all what this is all about. Its about Rimes’ treatment of Brandi. It is not about the affair, it stopped being about that a long time ago. Your post shows you have absolutely no idea why people who know Brandi are upset at Rimes. Its not the affair.

The controversy over her is exactly the reason Simon Cowell would like someone like her on the show. He could do worse. Believe it or not, LeAnn is still a well respected country singer. She is appreciated in Nashville and other places where country music rules. Perhaps she should start her own country version of American Idol or other such competition shows?
I donno, I just don’t hate on her like most. She doesn’t bother me one way or the other. I like Brandi, but she can obviously fight her own battles and doesn’t need me getting up in arms about their situation.
Sorry but Rimes has all but lost her standing in Nashville. Nashville ran her out of town because of what she did. Add the fact that virtually no one in Nashville or anyone else is buying her last couple of albums (I believe last one sold a mere 27 thousand world wide??). She and her career is over. Once you lose the respect of Nashville, you’ve lost everything.
That wasn’t all due to the affair though. That started happening after she tried to leave country and go pop. This dissing has been a long time coming.

I’m not exactly loving Dean and his, all that much either. Yes, he kept her grounded to an extent. However, I think he bought a bit into her crazy too though. I remember when they were moving from LA to Nashville the first time around. Leann hadn’t been in mags or getting attention in a while. However, they said (both repeated it at different times)that it was due to the paps and fans always being around and how they once saw a picture of them shopping for groceries on the front cover of a magazine. I remember thinking WTF? You guys aren’t on front covers of mags. Not even a little corner on the top. The pic was tiny and buried somewhere.
Also, shortly after he married LeAnn he made a post about how he was auditioning for movies/tv and to look out for him soon. Of course, he was never in anything but her videos. It just sounds like the kind of expectant/delusional talk that LeAnn does about HER being in major tv shows/movies.
Lastly, Dean and LeAnn vacationed alot too. He made that little comment on twitter once about “some people always vactioning” but he sure wasn’t complaining when married to her. It’s like now him and/or his family are saying that she’s ugly, is addicted to twitter, vacations too much, calls the paps, and has always been a stuck-up delusional bitch. However, no one said anything or complianed when they were benefitting from her and her money.
Not to mention Dean denying Brandi in public at first, is still close to Darrell, rarely if ever stands up for Brandi, and still says “nice” things about LeAnn.

Hateonit that’s hilarious but not surprising. Her face has that effect on people. I like to think of LeAnn as the modern day medusa. Although it would be hard to look into her eyes as they are so damn squinty. She has a face that only a mother could love. X Factor will lose even more viewers if she bagged it.
