Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Stewart, and Adam Sandler lead the Razzie noms

This year’s Razzie nominations, which take aim at the worst movies and performances of the year, have been unleashed upon unsuspecting Hollywood. Sarah Jessica Parker makes her usual appearance on the list with two nominations for her peformances in I Don’t Know How She Does It (the one where she does paperwork to a musical montage) and New Year’s Eve. If it were possible, SJP really should’ve earned a third Razzie nom for wearing this awful pink dress with a black leather biker jacket, but the Razzies don’t care about fashion. Oh well.

However, the bigger news with these nominations is that someone is finally calling out Adam Sandler for making terrible movies and completely cashing in on the practice. Sandler has broken the Razzie record with an alarming eleven nominations:

When Adam Sandler’s bad, he’s really bad, according to voters for the Razzies, an Academy Awards spoof that singles out the worst movies of the year.

Sandler received a record 11 nominations Saturday for the Razzies as star, producer or writer on three 2011 movies — Jack and Jill, Just Go with It, and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.

That more than doubled the previous record of five Razzie nominations held by Eddie Murphy for 2007;s Norbit.

Sandler;s nominations include worst actor for both Jack and Jill and Just Go with It and worst actress for Jack and Jill, in which he plays a family man and his own twin sister.

Sandler also had two nominations as worst screen couple opposite Jennifer Aniston or Brooklyn Decker in Just Go with It and opposite Katie Holmes, Al Pacino or himself in Jack and Jill.

As a producer, Sandler was credited with worst-picture and worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel nominations for both Bucky Larson and Jack and Jill. He also shared in worst-screenplay nominations as a writer on both movies, and a worst-ensemble nomination for Jack and Jill.

“It’s almost karmic for someone to have made that much razz-able stuff in one year,” said Razzies founder John Wilson. “He has angered someone really powerful, I would say.”

Along with Bucky Larson and Jack and Jill, worst-picture contenders are New Year’s Eve, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.

Jack and Jill led with 12 nominations, with Transformers second with nine and Breaking Dawn right behind with eight.

For worst actor, Sandler is up against Bucky Larson star Nick Swardson, along with Russell Brand for Arthur,” Nicolas Cage for Drive Angry, Season of the Witch and Trespass; and Taylor Lautner for Abduction and Breaking Dawn.

Razzie nominations were released on the eve of the Oscars. Winners will be announced on April Fool’s Day.

In addition, Breaking Dawn — Part I truly gathered up the nominations on this list with the Oscar Winning Bill Condon earning a Worst Director nod. Kristen Stewart was also nominated for Worst Actress, which she’ll surely greet with a mere eyeroll. All of the Breaking Dawn noms are fully justified, for that was truly an awful movie and even eclipsed (ha) New Moon with werewolf horrificness. The scene with the wolve hivemind argument? It should’ve clinched several Razzies on its own.

KStew looks so much like Elvis.

Glad Sandler is getting called out. His movies are just lazy. I also enjoy the hideous pics of him here.

    • Shay Kay says:

That is so funny that you think she looks like Elvis as I just told my sis she reminds me of Priscilla Presley! Truly, I had to scroll back up and I must say you are right! Elvis was obviously remaking Priscilla in his own image!

Thanks for clearing up my “vision” on who Kristen reminds me of! That said she is a pretty lady but Elvis was a pretty man himself.

    • The Bobster says:

The obnoxious, talentless pinhead Sadam Addler deserves to win every year.

    • Ramona Q says:

I don’t see Elvis in Kristen, but I think Carrie Underwood looks very much like The King.

  2. Luise says:

I finally broke down and watched Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 and couldn’t believe the bad everything about this over rated movie. Kristen Stewart is about the worst actress in movie history. My God, why is the vampire and the were wolf fighting over this drab thing. The worst ever.

    • paola says:

I think the first one was really bad so i didn’t even dare to watch the sequels.. she always has the same expression and i really don’t know why she was even chosen for the role in the first place! I think Twilight and the sequels are once again an example of movies for teenagers, very focused on what the actors look like and not on the actual performance. The books though are so much better!

      • Jill says:

Oh good heavens, are you serious? The films were bad enough, but the books are absolutely dreadful. I’ve read term papers by high school students that were better written than anything Stephenie Meyer has produced. Her writing skills are atrocious. And we won’t even get into plot and character development. The whole premise of Breaking Dawn was ridiculous. Bella gets pregnant by a vampire. How in hell did that happen? If the only fluid in a vampire’s body is venom, how did he even manage to get it up, let alone impregnate her with it? And as for that romantic honeymoon, I wanted to tell Meyer, bitch, please. Didn’t she write that a vampire’s skin is ice cold? I don’t know about her, but lying down next to a freezing piece of living rock and being impaled on an icicle dick is not my idea of romance. Well, the Twihards loved it anyway, so I guess that’s what counts.

      • paola says:

Err i think there is a misunderstanding.. i said the books were so much better in an ironic way but it didn’t turn out so ironic when i read it now! What i meant is that the film was such a crap that it made the books look good! I’m just guessing because i’ve started reading the first one and then i was bored so i left it, i thought it was due to the translation into another language but then the movie gave me all the right reasons to never read it ever again, not even in the english version!

      • Jill says:

LOL okay. But after reading the book Breaking Dawn and watching the movie, I have to say the movie, as gaggingly awful as it was, was nowhere near as bad as the book. 800 pages of nada. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s supposed to be REWRITING “Twilight” from the vampire’s POV. You’d think she’d inflicted enough pain on us already.

      • paola says:

I really don’t know how you managed to go through the whole book. you’re like a hero to me right now. i had to put it down after 100 pages, i love reading and sometimes i force myself into reading books i don’t like til the very last page because you know it’s not nice judging a book until you finished it.. but i’m telling you Twilight was the first book i left unfinished!!

“lying down next to a freezing piece of living rock and being impaled on an icicle dick is not my idea of romance”

        ROFLMFAO!!!! 😀

    • Maria_Spain says:

      I Totally agreed with you.
I thought i had a problem (maybe my age ,im 34) cos i still cant see the “magical “on all breaking down ´s movies.

      • paola says:

Yes me too. i’m 32 and i think i passed the ‘vampire phase’ when i was 15 or something and it didn’t even last long

  3. Gene Parmesan says:

lmao at Adam sandler possibly angering someone really powerful.
much deserved to the nominees cnt wait to hear their acceptance speeches!!
cnt wait for kstew to vamoose from our consciousness!

  4. paola says:

I actually liked ‘just go with it’!

*runs towards the exit and was never seen again* 😛

    • whatthehell456 says:

*running with paola out the door yelling*

I like Adam Sandler movies too!

    • OriginalTiffany says:

Really? I watched it on the plane. Kinda funny because I watched Moneyball too.
Just go with it was awful. So bad.
So rom-com, so Adam Sandler and JA. Blech. Worst movie of the flight. Puss in Boots was better.

  5. Happymom says:

I’m sure Adam Sandler is crying all the way to the bank.

  6. Photo lab says:

    SJP’s been looking a little Wildenstein-ish lately.

  7. Agnes says:

omg, i HATE adam sandler. he’s the worst, his movies are awful (i’d rather watch an aniston movie, but not the one with the two of them in it). i’m glad that he was called out. he should be every year. i only hate cats more than i hate adam sander. haha.

  8. marisa says:

Jennifer Aniston should be on the list. She’s been playing the same character for 10 years

  9. corny says:

evidently they lead for best fashion disasters too

  10. cmc says:

I always consider it a personal triumph when I haven’t seen a single movie on the Razzie list.

  11. Jill says:

I saved some money by watching it on PPV for $4.95. But that’s still two hours of my life I’ll never get back.

  12. Carolyn says:

When I saw Breaking Dawn the audience were laughing at the woewful acting. I snorted and said out loud “you’ve got to the kidding” at the scene where you hear the wolves talking. The Twilight movies both draw me in yet anger me. In better hands and with better actors it could have been a hell of a lot better. Kudos to whoever thought to create Robsten – it’s the best thing about the franchise. PS Sandler and SJP are very worthy Razzie noms/winners. With others here who are glad they’re getting called out.

    • Kay says:

I agree about Rob and Kristen. They are the only reason I watched any of the sequels. I kept hoping for better but they’re all pretty much crap movies, save for chemistry between these two. I believed them as Edward and Bella. A. I think Summit gave Meyer too much control B. I think Summit is cheap C. I think Melissa Rosenberg should stick to Dexter, she’s an awful screenwriter. I don’t think Kristen deserves the Razzie, she (and Rob’s performance in the birth scene) by far the best part. It’s just group hate mentality towards Twilight and Kristen that fuels this nomination. Even Mahnola Dargis of the New York Times liked the movie.

  13. misstrishm says:

Thanks for the advice on the Twilight saga. Now I know not to even bother with the first one book or movie. I love you guys. 🙂

  14. Kat says:

I’m extremely disappointed that the Razzies seem to have overlooked The Big Year.

Is there am award for Longest, Boringest Film?

    • Jill says:

I don’t know about this year, but if you want my nomination for the Longest Boringest Film Of All Time, definitely Titanic.

  15. Ravensdaughter says:

Ha-ha-ha! All awards well deserved. SJP is especially grating, year in and year out.

  16. TXCinderella says:

I am a big Twilight fan, but I cannot stand Kristen Stewart in the role of Bella. She truly cannot act, she is really awful. Every movie I have seen her in it’s just the same delivery. Bland.

  17. Camille (The original) says:

I hope Adam Sandler wins ALL of the awards! He is so deserving :D.
