Personally, I’ve done a complete 180-degree turn on Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus. When they first got together in 2009 (while filming The Last Song), I thought Liam was a glorified hunk-for-hire, someone pre-approved and vetted by Miley’s management to be her “official” boyfriend for the length of the film production and film promotion. But then weird stuff started happening. Liam encouraged Miley to ease up on her famewhoring. They broke up a few times. Miley stopped pushing the virginal Disney image. She started talking more about her (liberal) politics. She started smoking pot regularly. She and Liam moved in together, and they’ve seemed very solid and relatively low-key for more than a year. All in all, I think Liam has been good for Miley. She’s a bright girl (and I say that with no sarcasm), and I think this relationship with Liam challenged her and made her grow as a young woman.
So now Miley is a different kind of post-Disney celebrity. She’s still a multi-million dollar industry, of course, but you can tell that her management really wished she had “grown up” in a more family-friendly way. And maybe some people on her team blame Liam. That’s how I read this story:
Miley Cyrus’ friends are no fans of her beau, Liam Hemsworth! Miley is talking about marrying the Aussie hunk and even moving Down Under with him to start a family, a source reveals. But those close to Miley are begging her to ditch Liam, 22.
“He’s bossy and controlling, and it’s just understood that Miley always pays for them,” the source explains. “Her pals all think he’s just a dumb surfer and a pothead.”
Indeed, insiders blame Liam for Miley’s wild behavior in recent months, says the source, and as Star reported, Miley is quickly earning a reputation as a hard-partying stoner.
“Everyone would breathe a big sigh of relief if she dumped Liam and moved on,” the source says.

Maybe Liam is a “dumb surfer and a pothead.” That sounds like a nice way to go through life, truly. But Liam isn’t really that dumb – he didn’t work for a few years after The Last Song, and then when he did sign on to a movie, it was the potential blockbuster franchise The Hunger Games, where he was cast as Gale. So while Miley’s current career is still in flux, her dumb, pothead, surfer boyfriend is set to become a major movie star. JELLUS?!?
And besides all of that, I just really like them together. They complement each other in some strange way, and I genuinely buy that they love each other.

I think they’re both good for one another. I don’t buy the “Miley pays for everything” thing, either. He’s about to become a huge star due to the Hunger Games and he sure as heck wasn’t paid peanuts for a lead role.
No doubt Miley’s paying for everything. You don’t get more money because you MAY become a big star in a movie that MIGHT be a blockbuster. Studio’s don’t work like that. I bet he’s barely getting $500k for this movie.
His career is going much better than hers so….wonder if “Hunger Games” success will test their relationship.
I wouldn’t say his career is doing much better, people think she’s flopping just because she isn’t out promoting something 24/7 like she always was. She still just completed a pretty big tour that brought in millions recently and she’s signed on for some films in 2012 and is working on a new album.
Once he becomes a serious actor, it’ll be bye bye Miley and hello some new talented HW actress. I don’t buy this relationship.
I like them together too. Seems she became more real and genuine with him. I don’t think he is a pushover and she needed a strong man in her life and someone to say No to her.

Haha! Funny, that would be my typical reaction, too; I almost never like the bright lips. Strangely, though, I think this color actually brightens her eyes.
I prefer him to her. I don’t get what he sees in her.
I prefer how Hillary Duff transitioned into adulthood, meaning I like how private Hillary Duff is about her personal life. I don’t care that Miley smokes spot and has tattoos, it is just pathetic how she feels compelled to broadcast it all.
I am happy that Miley is able to have a loving adult age-appropriate relationship (unlike a lot of other former child stars). Liam seems like a laid back non-fameho-ish guy. I don’t buy that he’s a control freak.
He probably encouraged her to take some time off and remove herself from the public eye. This sounds like a story that was planted by someone on “team Miley” who doesn’t stand to gain $$$ by her doing so.
LOL It sounds to me like her “pals” are just mad that she’s settled down and isn’t hanging with them (and paying) 24/7.
So what if she pays most of the bills, she’s the one with all the money. If he was the rich one paying nobody would say anything because he’s a man.
If anything i give him props because a lot of guys would be insecure about his gf earning more, And it’s not like he isn’t working.
I like them together, but I always get the feeling she is way more into it than he is. Every pic is of her clinging to him for dear life, while he rarely looks at her and kind of seems bored with it all.

If anyone would be dumped, sadly, it would be her–and I think it would really break her too. She seems to be holding on for dear life to him because she knows the Hunger Games could change things.
In the oscar pics it looks Miley is wearing the same lipstick shade as Angelina wore to that summit thing – it looks good.

There’s nothing wrong with pot. It’s a plant. It grows in the wild. It makes you happy or hungry or both and I’d rather see Hollywood doing that than drinking or doing coke. Which makes people mean. Or sloppy. Or both.

^This can’t be said enough. I smoke incredible organic stuff whenever I can’t sleep and it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY (I come from a family plagued by insomnia). I can’t stand people calling it a drug. Drugs are the shit that pharmaceutical companies pedal. Weed is a plant, not a chemical substance. LEGALIZE IT ALREADY! Let the government tax it, WGAF. At least decriminalize a joint like we did in Boston.
I am written in a previous post that when it getting closer to the big promotion push for THG, more stories would come out about him being a bad boyfriend to her. It is like her camp is getting ahead of the curve for when he dumps her. Someone in his camp needs to curb this crap and fast.

I tend to think he will be doing the dumping. Not a huge fan of miley, though I think she has grown on me just a bit since she has been with Liam. I don’t buy that he’s controlling either, and I agree with the comment that maybe he has talked her into toning the famewhore thing down a bit… and not everyone in her camp is happy with it. As for her ‘friends’ not liking him… HA! I’ll just bet they don’t…

Said it before here, I worked with Miley and BR yrs ago in a charity situation. She is great. Very down-to-earth, honest, and really wants to do well, as far as giving goes. BR is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I worked with a lot of famous folks, and I’d rather deal with the 2 of them over many of the A listers I had to put up with who were total A-holes.

Although I DO like them together…he got her off of twitter and sort of forced her to be more of a real person I dont think thats bad influencing. HOWEVER, I DO see him jumping ship as his star rises even furthur….sorry to say. Miley just isent as “deep” as she once, cringingly, claimed she was. And, I agree, in every single photo I have seen of them he’s doing the thousand yard stare and shes all up on him like a bad rash. You can see it coming a mile away. painful to watch.
