Last week Kim Cattrall confirmed that a sequel to the successful Sex and The City movie was in the works and that it would start filming this summer. The 52 year-old actress spilled the beans during an interview on a British talkshow when she was directly asked about it. Cattrall also hinted that her relationship with much younger chef Alan Wyse had run its course.
Cattrall’s costar Sarah Jessica Parker is said to be fuming that she so casually revealed their plans for a sequel and said she may not even go ahead with it unless Cattrall shuts up fast. Parker considers herself the star of the show and is upset that Cattrall made the announcement without consulting her and before all the details were worked out:
When asked to comment on Kim’s announcement, Sarah observed acidly: “I’m thrilled to know that Kim is excited, but all the deals are not yet done.”
A source close to the film project added: “Kim did jump the gun. It enraged Sarah because in her mind, she’s the real star, and if any announcements are to be made, she feels they should come from her!”
Cattrall calls Parker a b*tch
Kim thought their long-running feud was behinf them, “so when she heard about Sarah Jessica’s latest put-down, all she could say was ‘What a bitch! Some people never change!'” said the source…“Now Sarah is making noices about backing out of the sequel if Kim isn’t muzzled, and it’s giving creator Darren Star a major headache!” said the source.

These two will work it out for the sake of the biggest moneymaker they both have going for the rest of their lives and they’ll make another sequel. It will probably be less plausible and spread thinner than the last one but the public will eat it up because we love these ladies and want to know what happens in their foolish lives. Maybe they should take Sarah and Kim’s feud onto the big screen and have their characters fight a little bit in the next installment. That’s one plot point that would definitely ring true.

Saw SJP once on some late night show and absolutely can tell why KC feels the way she does about her. SJP is condescending, egotistical and just a natural born pass in the ass. And this was my conclusion after just about 2-3 minutes of the interview. I’m not shocked about any strife I hear going on between the two. I think coming back with a sequel is definately reaching. Especially since the first movie was not all that to begin with. As a big fan of the original SATC show I was not impressed. And please tell me who GAF if she did out their plans on some british television show? I’m sure it not that big of an deal to those who probaly were not going to see it anyway. I will still be getting my copy at Redbox for a dollar.lol. SJP needs to grow up. I’m just surprised KC hasn’t smacked her yet.And after seeing just a glimps of what she and the other women had to put up with on a daily basis I’m also slightly impressed that she hasn’t. Yeah their spat is immature but at least KC has the balls to be the one to stand up to “Her Highness”. Clearly someone needs to.

The show had a lot of weaknesses, but its strength came from the relationships of its ensemble–NOT from SJP’s specific storyline.
The SJP hat creation is bizarre and yet she would fit in perfectly with England’s Royal Family. Perhaps her highness is waiting for an invite…. But please, please Miss KC, put a bra on. As nice as it is she hasn’t caved to the 90210 boobies, she is aging and so are the boobies.

This will make for good sequel publicity. They couldn’t pay a publicist enough to effectively promote this kind of cat fight. I just love it. Perhaps they will consider writing a good ole fashioned cat fight into the sequel. A good b*tch slappin sure will kick up the ticket sales.
I loved the SATC series and thought the movie was just “okay”. I can’t help but think these ladies are getting a little too old these roles – especially SJP.
Kim’s role as Samantha will never be out-of-date b/c she’s the female version of Peter Pan!! I wish they could do a story focusing on her!!!!
PS – I always stop and watch SATC reruns when I’m channel surfing; last night they had an old one on when SJP was dating the politician and she looked great. She’s REALLY aged since then, so maybe that’s why it’s seems silly for her to still be doing this role and having the SAME issues.
I really enjoyed watching the HBO Series SATC…it was entertaining. It brought laughter in my life. Don’t take this so seriously…they are rich, successful actresses…so that is excepted. They will get over it. I would definetly watch the sequel! The fact that they are more mature…would make it interesting…hopefully they will be dealing with different issues. For those of us who were their ages during the series…can relate with the changes 🙂 I say…”Go for it”…they have nothing to lose ❓ It should be fun!
I loved watching Sex and the City–and the movie was fun ! I think Sarah should have maybe told the girls ‘not’ to say anything yet, if that was her wish. Sounds like competition between women just as there is in all of YOUR lives out there–just admit it. And for you young chicks who are commenting about their ‘aging’–let’s just see if YOU look as good as them at that age. When I saw the movie I was actually stunned at how pretty they all looked–didn’t look like they had aged at all, and I daresay they probably look better than most women 20 years younger. For your information, young GIRLS, these women look like WOMEN, not pubescent GIRLS—and younger men LOVE older women who look good and take care of themselves. It’s just the arrogance of youth coming out in your comments–older women have more confidence and we think of you all as ‘girls’ and one day you will experience this transformation.
If anything about this feud is true, SJP needs to grow up. She, herself, announced there would be a sequel months ago. What? She’s the only one that’s allowed to talk about. I’ve always liked SJP but she’s beginning to sound a little controling. And the truth of the matter is she is indeed the lead of the show but she is not the STAR. The four girls together carried that show. Take one of them out and the show will fall as flat as a pancake. I think it’s time SJP took a look around and felt thankful for these three women, whether they all get along or not. They are all responsible for a great big hit — and they couldn’t have done it alone. I mean, when was the last time SJP carried a picture. She hasn’t and she won’t. She’s talented and lovely but not a leading lady in the normal sense of the word.
