Madonna is one of those people who will never learn humility or common sense. Despite her disastrous marriage, she still feels fine doling out relationship advice to others – specifically Britney Spears. Madonna’s advised Brit to avoid walking down the aisle again because marriage doesn’t work for girls like them.
Having recently returned to LA following her family trip home to Kentwood, Louisiana, Britney Spears was spotted out to dinner at Nobu last night (November 16).
The “Womanizer” songstress was joined by a friend as she dined at the West Hollywood hot spot until around 9pm, leaving in a chauffeured car.
And it sounds like Brit Brit is getting some marriage advice from fellow pop star Madonna, who is currently going through a messy divorce with Guy Ritchie.
An inside source told press, “Britney asked Madonna if she will ever marry again after her split from Guy. Madonna not only said she wouldn’t but told Britney to forget about marriage. She said it just doesn’t work for girls like them. Madonna clearly sees a lot of herself in Britney because she seems very eager to help her.”

Madonna giving out relationship advice is like Kate Moss telling people to eat more. It’s hard not to call her out on it. First off, the “girls like [us]” thing makes it seem like Madge is blaming her career, since that’s what she and Britney most have in common. From the rumors I’ve heard, you could blame a lot of things for the demise of her marriage to Guy Ritchie, but they mostly have to do with her shrill, cold, hard character, not with her career per se. I can see how it’s easier for Madonna to blame her job, because that’s slightly external and not about who she is at her very core.
I’m not saying I think Britney should get married again – I just think she should take any advice that comes from Madonna with a snowball-sized grain of salt.

Not just celebrities have come to this conclusion: marriage doesn’t work for some people. The problems become very magnified by the fame & money aspect.

It’s probably good advice…if by “girls like us” she meant “girls who are totally out of touch with reality and therefore unable to contribute meaningfully or receive graciously in a relationship with another human being.”

I once *had* a bossy, knowitall friend who was older than me. 😳 Even if the advice is partly true, it is selfish and jaded to say that to poor young Brit.
Brit is too young even still. Maybe Madge is making her loneliness seem less bleak. Brit will get thru this and have a true love. Hopefully she will wait long enough to meet a real man who will love her.
