Pippa Middleton is getting advice from a PR professional following the gun incident

Pippa Middleton’s popularity (in the UK) took a nosedive after she was photographed in Paris, in a car full of rich boys, with one of said boys waving around a fake gun. In the paparazzi photos from the incident, Pippa is seen smiling, laughing and smirking as her friend waves the fake gun around, pointing it at the paparazzo. There were initial reports that Pippa and her friends could be charged with a crime, although nothing came of it. Since the incident, Pippa has definitely been trying to be more low-key, and The Mail claimed that Pippa’s (stage) mother Carole Middleton warned her about “getting a bad reputation.” Because everything can be solved, apparently, by infantilizing 28-year-old Pippa and her 30-year-old duchess sister. They’re just “girls”! They don’t know any better!

Anyway, there’s probably something to those reports that Carole was trying to get Pippa to take it down a notch. The Telegraph’s gossip guy, Mandrake, reports that Pippa is so concerned about her “reputation” that she’s now “in touch” with a major public relations man about how to shore up her image:

With one of her louche Parisian pals pulling a gun on a photographer, Pippa Middleton suffered a rare stain on her public image. The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister is now taking steps to secure her place in the nation’s affections.

Mandrake hears that Pippa has been in touch with David Wynne-Morgan, the veteran PR man, about how to protect her image.

Discreetly, Wynne-Morgan, who is a consultant for Lord Bell’s firm Pelham Bell Pottinger, declines to comment. However, one of his associates tells me: “Pippa wanted his advice on how she should deal with her PR.”

Wynne-Morgan, a former royal correspondent, is known as London’s best-connected spinner and once advised the Prince of Wales.

[From The Telegraph]

I feel bad for any PR firm that has had to deal with the Prince of Wales, because every says he’s such a bastard to work for and with. As for Pippa possibly hiring someone (or just “getting advice”)… well… sure. If that’s what she feels she needs to do, go ahead. I think that by hiring someone for her personal PR situation is a tacit admission that she is, in fact, a public figure, despite her lawyer’s claims that she’s not. Pippa wants attention. Pippa wants press. She just doesn’t want BAD press.

…I wonder what’s going on with Pippa and George Percy, the future duke? Was he scared off by Pippa’s antics in Paris? Poor Pippa.

*WHAT* is she wearing in the last photo?

  2. Aria says:

28 years old??? Really??? I thought she was in her mid 30s…..

    • Rice says:

      It’s the English weather.

      • Aria says:

I was thinking nightlife, cigarettes, alcohol and bad genes. Look at Diane Kruger. She’s in her mid 30s and looks younger.

      • apsutter says:

Yea…I feel it’s way more about her lifestyle than the weather. England is so dreary and overcast that I don’t really think it would be from sun damage. I live somewhere where it snows a ton and we barely get 3 months of summer and everyone I know has aged like a champ. One of my friends from a city a couple of hours away was freaked out by how young everyone looks and always jokes that it’s the water.

    • wunder says:

Weather or not, the girl looks rough!

      • Dusty says:

Look at her mum. They are both sunworshippers and we all know it helps to age you a lot quicker.

    • Yes, I'm that Leah says:

Mid 40’s to me Aria. At her sisters wedding, she didn’t look this way. She aged this much in one year? Does she drink? It could be stress though…..

  3. Rice says:

I must be crazy because every time I see her I keep thinking she’s older than Kate. Also, what Pippa lacks in “royal etiquette” she makes up for it in excitement, if you call waving a fake gun around and dancing in your bra excitement.

    • Aria says:

      She is tacky. That’s it.

      • fairy godmother says:

        ^ Well said!
She will need PR help for her “ghost writer” book sales.

    • fairy godmother says:

I forgot to mention her role as ambassador at the Summer Olympics.

She will not want to hear booing. She thrives on being in the limelight.

Only reason she is given this role is because her sister married someone in RF.
Olympics seem to be more of a joke by putting Pipster in this position. Plus she is has recently started (& brother) to be involved in charity organizations for fame & attention.

  4. Nessa says:

Lol at that first picture. Not your best, Pippa. Not at all.

    • brin says:

      Yeah, she looks awful.

      • miriam says:

She generally looks awful. I don’t understand why people consider her a beauty. She’s such a BOBFOC (body off baywatch, face off crimewatch).

  5. Cathy says:

She better learn to behave if she wants to uptrady like her sister did. But unlike her sister at least she gets to have some fun. She just needs to learn how to keep it under control.

  6. The Original Denise says:

Now, if she would only take advice regarding her makeup. Percy will never marry her; if she “uptrades” it won’t be with him. Families of that ilk play with famewhores, they don’t marry them.

  7. Good grief says:

The photo of her on the homepage is epic in its awfulness. Kee-rist.

Pippa’s crowd sounds about right – a bunch of assholes with every opportunity and zero actual accomplishments. I love that she will never, ever happen, but I assume she’ll get her rich dude and the shallow, pointless and cokey version of a happy ending.

  8. JustJen says:

First bit of advice…wipe off that black gunk around your eyes.

  9. benny says:

The kind of men willing to marry Pippa will be the same kind who are willing to marry a Kardashian. But as long as they have money, that’s all that matters, right?

Even though Kate married a philandering prince, it doesn’t stop the entire family from being trashy. And I thought American reality-show “celebrities” were bad.

  10. bluhare says:

Pippa has not looked as good as she did during the wedding since. Not even close. She ought to take a page out of that stylist’s book.

As for her reputation, I could help her there. Pipps, don’t go to parties on the continent with sketchy guys. Don’t get photographed in your underwear. Dress appropriately. Don’t shag every guy you meet.

    Think that about covers it.

  11. isabelle says:

Girl, do something about your make-up – it looks shocking!

  12. lisa says:

The first picture just shows that she is not that attractive.

I have to laugh at all the crazy that was started about this woman. All because she wore a dress that looked good on her. Now many people are realizing that she is quite average looking and not interesting.. but the media doesn’t seem to get that most people don’t care about Pippa. Are people really tuning in to see her going shopping.

  13. Aqua says:

It might be a very good idea since everyone around the world is watching every thing she says and does now.

  14. LAK says:

‘…..because every says he’s such a bastard to work for and with.’

I would wager all the singing canaries have an axe to grind.

He has had the same people work for him for a very long time. He might be precious, but not on the level of Queen Noor who demands mangoes in Berkshire!

  15. Gossip PHD says:

I never got the fascination with Pippa. I thought she was unattractive and common.
Actually, the gun waving incident is the first interesting that has happened, because it shows the real Pippa (partier, superficial, dilettante and oblivious).
I cannot imagine that George Percy will ever be interested in her again. I believe she went to Paris to get him jealous and it totally backfired on her.
Kate, whatever her limitations, is totally classy; Pippa is not!

  16. Sachi says:

George Percy seems to have disappeared.

I doubt he would marry her. Not now, not ever. Percy is more of a country man. He’d rather develop his family’s estate than to actually live in the city and have a celebrity life. He seems to like (or at least, he doesn’t mind) the cameras though, so who knows.

I think he and Pippa are just good friends. I don’t see any romantic flair between them. Their relationship seems more of a brother-sister one.

And Kaiser, I agree that Pippa hiring a PR firm is an indication that she wants to be treated as a public figure, which is why she’s reported to be taking measures to improve her image.

It’s a very different take on what Pippa and Kate’s ‘fans’ insist on: that the Middletons don’t ask for the media’s attention and they should be left alone since they are just victims of the media. Oh, boo-hoo. Their plan all along was to marry up and to use the press whenever it suited their agenda and to achieve their goals, until Pippa made a mess of things for herself.

So we have a report that Pippa, after complaining about the attention she got from the paparazzi, now wants help to manage the same media attention in a way that would benefit her because she’d love to stay in the limelight. Not a public figure, my a**.

I’ve said it here on CB over and over before, Pippa loves the attention and she constantly seeks it. She doesn’t want to fade away from the spotlight and be forgotten. She doesn’t want to play second fiddle to her sister. She’s the other part of the Wisteria Sisters, remember? She’s as much of a social climber as her sister, except she’s more “fun”.

She was loving all the praise and attention the media was lavishing on her. But the gun incident went too far and crossed the line. Now she’s seen as another immature, lazy, entitled spoiled brat…which she’s always been, many people just took a longer time to realize it and were conned into thinking that Pippa and her family only want to live a peaceful life away from the cameras.

Next time she cries foul from all the press attention, the paparazzi should tell her she’s the one hiring a PR firm to manage her reputation in public and make the bad press go away. Exactly like a celebrity/public figure. She’d have no leg to stand on when she next files a complaint about being followed everywhere.

  17. shaboo says:

she’s really not as pretty as the press made out.

  18. Alexa says:

Percy and Pippa always had a brother/sister relationship – they never dated, not even at University. She dated one of his closest friends, JJ Jardine Paterson – his current flatmate in fact. I think that George is simply a friend she has always turned to when her romances don’t work out. He is nice to her and makes her laugh and gives her a certain social cachet, but you never see any chemistry between them. The famous hug in the street before the skiing race looks like a hug between two good friends.

I wonder if he got spooked by all the fuss made by the press when he went to Meribel on the ski trip along with the Middleton clan and Prince William? Hello magazine had it all over their cover and the Daily Mail was ready to move Pippa’s things into his castle. They haven’t been seen together since then.

  19. HoustonGrl says:

Ok…here comes my rant, because I can’t stand the Middletons, and especially their values (or lack thereof):

Pippa does need PR management, pronto. I’m surprised she doesn’t already have a consultant. All of her press since the Royal wedding makes her look so, hmmm, “available.” (I’m trying to put it nicely). I mean seriously, she’s been photographed with dozens of men, acting flirtatious with each one. Do the Middleton girls have ANY female friends? Sorry, it makes me suspicious when girls only befriend guys. I read somewhere that her reputation in the “inner circle” is pretty shady, that she’ll shamelessly flirt with married men.

Even her family condones this…as they did with Kate. The whole family courted William, taking him on trips, treating him like a son-in-law. They’re doing the same with Percy. Pippa has the precise POA as her sister. And I totally agree with one poster, her Paris trip was an attempt at jealousy that totally backfired. What kind of decent guy would want a chick who’s seemingly boning her way through Europe as a way to get to him? It’s already bad enough she dated his roommate.

Frankly, their family is just so desperate. I can’t imagine parents who sell out their daughters like that, advising them to take any trashy treatment from men, all in the shallow, vain hope of grasping a titled heir. A decent mother and father would remind their daughters of The Rules. Oh, and I don’t think Percy and Pippa are “just friends.” She’s been pap’d numerous times leaving his apartment in the early morning hours.

  20. Schnikes says:

She looks beat for her age. Men of wealth only use girls like Pippa for sex, not marriage. Her only hope is pregnancy, royal/elite groupie-style. Imagine how haggard she looks on a hangover morning! She must be accustomed to staff removing her quickly and quietly, car waiting out front kinda thing….

  21. Turd Fergussen says:

I know I shouldn’t say this about other women, and God knows I have MYRIAD flaws, but Jesus she’s unattractive. Just looks rougher than a cob.

  22. Mew says:

This girl looks like a trainwreck! She looks so horrible, 20 to 30 years older than she is. She’s so bad outlooks wise, she gets to the same level with Linnocent. Horrid makeup just to make that pop on our faces. What’s up girl? Get some sleep sometime and stop hustling for a while. It’s too desperate.

  23. lucy2 says:

She does look much older than she is, esp. in that first photo. Not good!

  24. JulieM says:

Once again , the Loudon family is sighing with relief. Did they dodge a bullet, or what?

Percy will never marry her. It simply will not be allowed, no matter what he wants.

  25. ZenB!tch says:

Nice body but she is one fugly chick. She doesn’t even look like Kate (thank goodness for Kate).

  26. taxi says:

What about the brother? Except for seeing him cross-dressed at a party & another photo where a bunch of guys were hanging out in their underwear, we don’t read much about him. Do they keep him off-radar because he’s gay? No one mentioned him bringing a chum on the last family vacay.

  27. Aurelia says:

Yes the queer as folk bro is living with his boyfriend. Had to wait until the wedding to do so apparently.

  28. queenbee says:

I think kate isn’t aging well either. wtf- don’t they have botox filler over there? i thought kate was going to get jealous of all the HOT PIPPA talk. Looks like she need not worry about that.

  29. lower-case deb says:

and the word “pippa” doesn’t have a good connotation in greek. even worse in sweden i heard 🙂

i only knew this because of pippa funnell (the british equestrian sportswoman) telling a story about how she has to change her name from Pippa to Phillipa for the olympic games in greece a few years back. because the greeks don’t want to offend. of course phillipa funnell sounds even odder 🙂

but anyway, so she’s going to be the olympic ambassador.
i wonder if there’s going to be some snickering amongst the greek/swedish contingent.

    hello, i’m pippa.

  30. Good web site! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written.
