These are some new photos of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale at The Heart Foundation Gala last night. I have to admit, I was taken aback when I first looked through these photos, because there are several really bad shots of Gwen. Like, the lighting is off, she’s making a weird face, and… she looks (whispers) Botoxy. CB and I were debating Gwen’s alleged Botox-face this morning, and while my immediate reaction was “I’m so sad Gwen turned into a Botox-monster,” I think I might have to revise my opinion. While I still think Gwen has been injected (and tweaked), I don’t think it’s as awful as I originally thought. Some of these pics are like the “perfect storm” of unflattering photos. Still, can you spot the difference between Gwen before and Gwen after?
Right? Well, if you don’t agree with me, that’s fine. What’s weird is that Gwen is – in my opinion – vampiric in her agelessness. She’s looked the same for so long, it’s hard to believe that she’s 42 years old.
As for Gwen’s gown, it’s Georges Chakra Couture. I kind of love it on her. It’s great – very sophisticated, but with a twist. As for Gavin… look at that Widow’s Peak. All of a sudden, he reminds me Coté de Pablo!

Definite botoxy. Does she EVER change her makeup or hair? It’s literally been the same colors since 1998. Time for a change.
I am pretty sure she uses botox and other injectables. I think the fact that her face HASN’T changed that much tells a lot. She hasn’t made it a secret that she is pretty vain, she doesn’t go for a “natural” look, so it really isn’t surprising.
My only question is…if she didn’t botox, would everyone be commenting on how old and haggard she looks? Women tend to bash others for botoxing, and also bash others for looking old as well.
I dunno, botox itself can be very aging imo. Gets rid of wrinkles but speeds up all other signs of aging and can turn into a vicious cycle. Gwen loves grooming which is cool but she should have left well enough alone when it came to those injectables. She looked noticeably better in the Febuary picture.
Valid point, Tiffany. Totally agree. Ageing female celebrities are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. No wonder so many of them are scared to age gracefully.

Annie, good point about botox having other bad aging effects. I read an article by a doctor who works in the field, and his opinion was that botox causes the muscle under the skin to weaken giving a more gaunt and elderly appearance.
He seems to use some as well.
Her forehead looks super tawt and her eyes have new wrinkles in places that I didn’t know could have wrinkles.
Under eye wrinkles are a sign of too much ‘Tox.

I agree. She does look different and the photos are very unflattering but I don’t think that she would get botox though. I will give her the benefit of the doubt… for now.

I never realized how much she over draws her lip line. At least she doesn’t plump them.
Her skin doesn’t look that good to me. Really bumpy over her mid face, like she spackles it on because of bad skin. Too much makeup on aging skin.
I personally think she looks kind of old. She is my age. I do think I look way older with lots of makeup on. When I wear little to nothing, I get taken for many, many years younger, as in my daughter’s older sister.
Sparkle and spackle are aging. I think Gavin looks toxy too.
This iPad screen is harsh though. I zoom in on my pics and freak too. I think I remember Gwen admitting to bad acne at some point, right?
Sorry to correct you:
I used Botox before and this is EXACTLY how it looks around the eyes and on the forehead when you smile and had Botox. You can only still see the little wrinkles directly around the eyes, they are not “botoxable”.
Around the lips and cheeks she´s used fillers, b´c you can´t use Botox there.
…And now that I looked at the pics again I found another sign:
If you see these really strange upwards wrinkles on you eye-lids that´s a definiet proof aswell, b´c I´ve never had them until I froze my forehead.
I guess I’m not good at this since I don’t see the difference in the pictures.

I don’t see a difference, either. And I hate to admit it but I looked long and hard for way longer than I should’ve. 🙂 I think her eye makeup is a little uneven, and her eyebrows are a shade or two darker, but that’s the only difference I see. Her foundation is too heavy, imo–it’s not flattering to her skin texture. I think she has a combo of good genes (she’s greek) and takes very good care of herself.
It’s all in the wonky eyes. Total tell tale sign when your eyes go from normal to straining to see, almost mad-eye moody-ish. ok maybe not that far, but still

She has some of the best legs in the pop business. I mean when she is in tiptop shape touring they are stunning and shapely. She and Carrie Underwood have amazing legs. Carrie was on Kimmel last night and my husband was floored by her legs. LeAnn should have been trying to emulate
their legs instead of starving herself down unnaturally to have Brandi’s naturally skinny stick legs.
Maybe I’ve seen too many Nicole Kidman and Megan Fox pics,(they are frightening!!) but it looks to me like its just some bad lighting.
I’m a huge fan, but yeah she regularly slips off to the “dentist.” I think the Botox is minimal though and she’s lucky to have a youthful face. Now can we please talk about Gavin’s hideous hairdo that he’s been sporting for the last year? I hate it. He has lost his looks.

i agree. for once in her life, she resembled somewhat of a classical beauty there. i couldn’t even recognize her. she also reminds me of my sister a lot, who has been bleaching her hair for decades because she feels ordinary as a brunette. she looks way, way better as a brunette and everybody tells her that, but she keeps frying her hair because of insecurity.
She looks fantastic, but she does look like she may have gotten a wee bit of botox in the forehead. But it doesn’t look terrible. I’ve seen her in person, and she is flawless.
Her make-up is awful when you see her up
close. Just too much. She could do with lighter foundation because it is making the texture of her skin look worse than it is (I mean the make-up free skin on her neck and chest looks lovely). The red lipstick is clearly beyond her natural lipline, making her lips look like a clown’s almost. Can’t blame her for the botox, it’s celeb-land, who is completely natural?

IDK if its the false lashes, but I read somewhere that too much Botox can make the eye droop/wonky. I think she gets “refreshed” and went a little overboard.

Her jaw looks like it’s been shaved down. She looks a bit like Faith Hill here, too.
She is close to my age and although I am blessed with great genetics (everyone in my family looks younger than they are) I am finally getting wrinkles on my forehead. I don’t see any wrinkles on hers at all which does lead me to believe she’s had botox there. It also looks like she may have had a bit of filler done around her mouth. I don’t think it’s overdone however. I’m sure it’s par for the course for a woman of her age in the celebrity world she inhabits.
I remember seeing the new L’Oreal commercial (the long version) and I only saw it aired ONCE. It was scary how plastic she looked in it. It was very obvious that she had work done and it’s a shame b/c it really took away from her natural signature look. There’s a fine line between her looking like a botoxy doll to her red lip/pale skin signature look.
Her make up always seems too heavy and overdone and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without make up. Can’t tell whether she’s had work done because the make up is so thick.

Whether she’s at a formal event or visiting the playground, her make up is the same — thick and heavy and over done. Yuch. Her skin looks mottled and wrinkly up close.
On the other hand, some celebs in the same age range pull off the make up free look quite well — e.g. Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, Sandra Bullock, Rachel Weisz to name a few.
I love her! Don’t care what anyone says, she’ll always be gorgeous in my mind. I hope to look that good at 42 (even if I have to use botox lol).
Also, on a tangent here, I wish she would come out with a solo album again. I know she’s said that’s over with, but it’s still nice to dream.

She did look aaaaamazinv in the underneath it all vid. The two things i remember from that is that it had real soft lighting, thereby making her look softer (but pretty nevertheless) and that she had a mole on her armpit. I don’t know why but it freaked me out, like she might nick it while shaving. 😳

I always thought she as the youngest looking 40 year old woman. From far she still looks like the same old Gwen. Its that up-close pic that gives away the botoxy look. It also looks like her skin is reacting to something. Maybe once whatever she had done settles a bit her skin will look better.

Small lips, bad skin, a bit greasy. That’s why she’s always seen with the full face of makeup.
The reason I know this is because I am a natural blonde who is getting close to 40 and I have extremely oily skin and fair lashes and brows. Without makeup I feel VERY insecure but with makeup everyone tells me how stunning I am…
So you end up getting the message, makeup = good, lots of compliments, no makeup = bad, plain as a pumpkin.
The only good thing about oily skin is that you pretty much stay ageless for a long time. At 38 I still get asked for ID.
I am totally the same way with nearly invisible fair lashes & brows. I have to fill in the brows & at least 1 coat mascara or my face seems to vanish. I like to stand out, be more striking ;). She must as well.
Anyway, her signature look is HER look, her choice. I can’t believe someone accused this woman of low self esteem for liking make up & knowing what she likes to look like.
True on the oily skin. I get IDed all the time. Get taken for my daughters sister. My mom did the same at my age.
Genetics and luck. I get carded way more without makeup for sure.
And I do think she is toxed for sure. At our age, you get horizontal lines on the forehead. Mine are fading with retinol pads, but will always be fine.
I’m not into messing with my face though, so will age naturally. It’s too scary to mess, these celebs are good for many lessons about what not to do.

I love Gwen and her love of fashion. She does look a little botoxy and severe around her eyes. That hairstyle and makeup are also severe. I agree w/someone else who pointed out that less makeup is better as you age.
She has always kept her body in good shape and does not have the fat padding in the face because of this as she is on the thin side. This also makes a huge difference for women.
I like the fact she has never done the boob job and has just rocked her own body. She has great legs and looks good in a bikini last time there were pics of her at the beach.

The wonky eye could be due to the fake eye lashes. If you don’t put them on properly your eye becomes wonky.
I LOVE her but it looks like she has had her eyes done. Why Gwen why?? She is only in her early 40’s and didn’t need it. I hope it settles in and she stops messing with her beautiful face!!

She has terrific skin and wears extremely carefully applied makeup. I don’t think she has had Botox, but I do find the meticulousness a little creepy.

I like that she has a few wrinkles, it is natural and far more attractive than the face trapped in a wind tunnel look.
I think she will always be glam and attractive, as long as she doesn’t have too much work done.
We need to be kinder to our fellow women, we all have hang-ups and insecurities, but we can all still be beautiful, even without Botox.
