Here are some new photos of Vanessa Paradis in Paris… at some point. The photos are dated from the weekend, but WENN has thrown them up like they’re new, so I don’t know. She was at the Paris Cinema Festival for the premiere of her new film, Je Me Suis Fait Tout Petit. CB and I were debating what was different about Vanessa – I think VP has gained a little bit of weight (like, two pounds) and she got a great blowout. Maybe it’s just makeup? We don’t know. VP looks good, though. This was Vanessa’s first public appearance since everything was announced with the official split and the subsequent “Team Depp says Vanessa is a ballbuster and that’s why Johnny had to bone Amber Heard” campaign. The tabloids are still trying to figure out how long Vanessa and Johnny have been having problems – The Enquirer claims that Vanessa thinks Johnny was boning Amber Heard back in 2009, when Johnny and Amber first filmed The Rum Diary. Us Weekly has made it sound like Vanessa and Johnny have basically been split up since 2010. Basically, it’s a mess.
Also: Here are some photos of Lily-Rose Depp shopping with a nanny and a bodyguard in West Hollywood over the weekend. Lily-Rose is 13 years old – she turned 13 in May. I’m not trying to be harsh or judgy, but I do have to say… my mother would have never let me out of the house in this outfit when I was 13 years old. The exposed bra is one thing – and maybe I would give this a “meh” if it was just the exposed, red bra (why does a 13-year-old need a red bra, though?). But the exposed bra with the booty shorts cut all the way up that high? No. I’m not saying it’s Johnny’s fault and not Vanessa’s or vice versa. Maybe they’re co-parenting successfully and they’re just tired of fighting Lily-Rose on her clothes, because God knows, teenagers can put up one hell of a fight. And considering Vanessa and Johnny’s on-going drama, maybe the parental debate over their daughter’s clothes has fallen through the cracks. But one of them needs to put their foot down about this, right?

Vanessa doesn’t look any different than she ever did…when she’s dressed up for a public appearance. She looks nice (unless she smiles. But I’ve never seen such a difference in anyone when she’s not made up…she looks horrid. Johnny never affected her appearance, she did that all by herself. Just saw a pic of Johnny yesterday and he looks great…and very happy.
Oh, I like both, Paradis and Johnny but I gotta be honest.
Depp teeth are plus the yellow,are brown.Especially at the bottom, where it has a slightly crooked teeth.

Totally with you on VP. I never thought her to be anywhere near a “beauty.” As for Miss Lily…if she’s anything like I was at 13, God help her parents! I look back on those years and cringe at some of the stuff I wore (and didn’t wear), but that is how we all learn, by making mistakes.

I agree. My daughter is 13 & she dresses so conservatively. It is hard to find clothes for that awkward age. It goes from cutesy little girl to Russian prostitute. They need to bridge that gap methinks. Same with shoes! My daughter has large feet (8 in womens) and it’s hard to find appropriate dress shoes. She can’t/doesn’t want to wear heels…it would be nice for the fashion industry to actually listen to parents for once. *sigh*
I totally agree that the kid is dressed inappropriately, and I also totally agree that the clothing situation for little girls and teenage girls is a mess, but I honestly had to laugh at the comment about cutesy little girl to Russian prostitute! Vanessa Paradis looks like, as you said, she’s gained a teensy bit of weight and she looks great for it. I can’t imagine the last few years have been easy on her but she looked awfully gaunt and haggard looking (not being mean, I love her look, just calling it like I see it) but she’s glowing now. She looks great. Even with the ‘meh’ outfit, her face and hair and makeup look so fresh and healthy.
Not bothered by Lily-Rose’s outfit, to be honest. Sure it’s a tad skimpy but at 13 I’d hope she was unaware of the attention she’s attracting.
I agree with everyone there is not really much parents can do. I used to have a baggy shirt when I left the house and underneath on was a skimpy top.
But I have to say 13 year olds know exactly what attention they are attracting. I still remember it! And thank goodness at thirty I am quite sensible (two kids and prim and proper lol). It’s just hormones and discovering your new body and being exciting to show it off!

Listen I’m not a mom and I can only imagine how difficult it is to strike that balance when it comes to your daughter’s attire but this outfit is pretty extreme. It’s even worse because she’s in the public eye and the paps are getting shots of her-these images could easily end up in the hands of a creepy pedo. What about compromise? Maybe shorts that are short but not ass-skimming? I don’t know….this just seems way, way too much exposured for a little girl.
I wouldn’t let my daughter hang out with a girl who walked around looking like that.

It makes me sad whenever I see a young girl, not nearly a woman yet, with her body on display in this manner. I believe she would feel better about herself if she showed how pretty she is without showing her entire body while she is at it. What does it teach her, letting her dress this way? There is plenty of room for self expression while still keeping the upper thighs covered, FFS. Sad.
I dressed like a spice girl when I was thirteen. And I also wore cutoffs. Or wore my moms sixties minidresses. But I was still a completely curveless and harmless playfull kid who liked climbing trees, hide & seek and ropeskipping and such.
Then when I was 14 puberty hit in, and I never even dared to wear revealing clothes XD
I was more a baby Spice than a Ginger Spice. for me that phase was extremely fun while it lasted.

I am not prude. I don’t have kids. But my brothers do. And there is no way in hell their daughters would be out walking around anywhere looking like that. She is 13 years old. And yes if that was Miley, Selena, or others when they were that age the comments would be off the chain. I don’t know if Johnny and Vanessa are spending a lot of time with the kids. Not saying they are neglecting their children. But both of them are very busy. Johnny is working and it seems Vanessa is too. So both of them are out of LA at the moment. I think that children go through a lot of emotional upset when parents separate or divorce. Girls especially can act out in sexual ways. I hope the children are being monitored. They may be seeing all the talk in the press about their father and mother so that too affect them.

VP and her daughter are gorgeous. I think the outfits are too skimpy. I, unfortunately, think she is aware of the attention the outfit will bring. It makes me sad that 13 year olds are trying so hard to be so grown up (and she is not alone in this).

I need to defend Lily Rose here. When I was her age, in the 90s, nobody could tell me what to wear. Now that I’m 29, I could obiviously never wear that to the office, so I think it’s ok for teens to dress like that because if you can’t do it when your a teen you’ll never be able to do it. Also when I was on the boardwalk this past weekend, every single teenage girl was wearing those booty shorts and many of them were not skinny.

i didnt realize that 13 was this age of massive rebellion…my mother couldn’t force me to wear clothes that i hate but i most definitely didn’t have the freedom to buy and wear things that made me look like a hooker. I could understand the power struggle 16, 17 but 13? no. that’s called lazy parenting if you cant control the wardrobe of a 7th grader.

Amoi I 100% agree. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but if you don’t have enough control over your 13 year old daughter to keep her from dressing like this, you have gone wrong as a parent. And the fact that many many young girls dress like this ( the rear ends falling out of shorts on very young girls I saw at the movies last week had my jaw dropping open, so I know what you mean) does not make it OK. If she chooses to portray herself as a hooker on the street when she is 18+, that is out of her parents’ hands. To allow it at the age is ultimately unfair to the child.

Gabrielle, I so agree with you. When I was 13 my mother encouraged me into wearing short skirts, because she thought that was the age to wear them. I was myself very aware of the attention I was getting, but I liked it. I stopped wearing those short skirts and short shorts after 8th grade. I turned out to be a normal woman and defo not a hooker. Why stop your kids wearing those when they are young? If you stop them, they will wear them later when they really do have something to show. And now where I live there are 37 degrees and would so want to be able to pull those short shorts…So I will give Lily a big pass.

Lily rose DID inherit her mothers teeth. She had them corrected. If you look up lily rose images you will see when she was little she had the gap in her teeth. It is only correctable by orhtodontist, so it was definately a choice to “close that gap”!)

Vanessa looks good, the best I’ve ever seen her look but she and Johnny are obviously loose parents to allow their 13-year-old daughter to dress like a cheap, skanky streetwalker – highly visible red bra and all. I would be embarassed and ashamed to be seen in public with a child dressed like that.
My girlfriends and I just had a conversation about our daughters and the skimpy clothes. To a point, it’s just not worth the fight. These tight tanks and cutoffs are what the stores are selling. IMO, we as parents need to focus on teaching the underlying values while allowing some freedoms. And, thank God, school starts back in 6 weeks and we can bring back the plaid uniforms!

For experience I say it’s difficult to end a longterm relationship, it takes a lot of time to realize what’s wrong, and what’s happening. Here there children involved, and I bet they did try to figure out everything, but it didn’t work.

As a mother, you can fight all day and night with a teen, they will just change clothes when they leave the house or put on make up at school and wash it off before they get home. Better to not make a big deal about it so there is no need to rebel.

I was 13 when my parents got divorced and when I look at Lily-Rose especially in the forth picture down I see a very sad little girl.
What I remember about the whole thing is feeling a whole lot of anger towards my parents who made this decision which affected my life, without any consideration for what I wanted.
I actively took delight in doing things I knew they would not be happy about to let them know that I could equally make decisions without any consideration for them.
Therefore, I would not be the least bit surprised if Lily-Rose dressed this way precisely because she knows it will piss off her parents.
After all, from the post we know her mother was miles away in France and her father is not with her either.
I know this is complete assumption on my part based on my own experience, however looking at her friend and how uncomfortable she appears it would not surprise me in the least if I am spot on.
No judgement to pass on the kid, she’s 13, so it falls square on the parents shoulders but I will say that the reason VP looks good is because SHE HAS HER MOUTH CLOSED. Look at the other women with her, they’re all open mouthed smiling, she’s straining her lips over that mess like a kid who’s parents told them not to smile with their lips open cuz they didn’t get to the braces age yet. She reminds me of those old cartoons of the beautiful girl from behind with her face planted in the hood of the car trying to fix it and turns around and all you see is crazy buck teeth! It’s called an orthodontist dear. Splurge the 5k on yourself so you can smile in peace.

There are other photos from yesterday’s Daily Mail where Vanessa is smiling and she looked beautiful. I love the gap, I think it’s sexy and quirky. That’s what I love about Vanessa–let’s please not re-make her or she’ll look just like any other AH type. I think Lily is acting out, having her teenage rebellion (apple does’nt fall far from the tree) and wanting attention.

Maybe it is just here in South Florida, but all of the teen girls wear those tiny shorts and very revealing clothing. I think it is what the stores are selling now. In the 80s, when I was a teen, the trend wasn’t toward dressing like the girl from Taxi but I think its the trend now. But if I had a teen daughter, agreed – fashion or not she would not be walking the streets like that.
The sexualization of girls isn’t new, but it seems much more prevalent and accepted, from the weirdness of Tiaras an Toddlers to letting your young teenager dress like the prostitute from Taxi Driver. But Mom and/or Dad don’t have to go along with it, just because.

When they are wearing them with a simple tshirt and flip flops, it doesn’t seem so sexualized. Also there are some that are less form fitting (ie khaki types).
I think on Lily Rose it’s the combination of short, cut-off, bootie hugging shorts, with a low cut fitting tank exposing her color bra in the front and back that takes the look to a whole different level.

Younger women 20s and younger in my area are wearing micro-shorts too. Not a biggy. It’s a trend and they come and go. The bra? Meh. Happens to the best of us.
It’s the same when I used to live in Canada. Every summer girls wear shorts that almost show their bums, or many wear tops with such low necklines that 3/4 of their cleavage is showing. Girls in their puberty to their 20s wear the exact same style of denim hot pants.
Thing is though, they wear it because it’s summer and it’s so hot. And they pair it with a plain tank top/simple t-shirt, minimal accessories and make-up, and flip flops. It’s what you’d expect girls/young women to look like when you think of summer.
So the effect is not, “Oh, she looks trashy” but more “It’s summer, it’s hot, it’s the season to wear short shorts! It’s normal.”
It’s the same at the beach. People don’t blink an eye with teenage girls wearing skimpy bikinis because it’s normal wear for sunbathing and swimming.
It’s all about the impression they give off, IMO. 14-year olds at the beach wearing teeny-tiny swimsuits doing nothing but soaking up the sun and hanging out with friends is one thing, it’s another to pose provocatively in a swimsuit like Kendall Jenner did when she was 14 y.o.
Lily-Rose’s pairing of the boots, the short-shorts, the choker, etc. all point out to a girl who wants to look edgy but sexy and cool. I wouldn’t expect most girls to walk around looking like that unless they want to show off their fashion and attract attention.
I don’t think she looks like a hooker as many people said, but I do think her outfit seems ‘forced’. It doesn’t look natural on her, like she’s trying too hard to be seen as an adult, someone sexy and mature, when she still looks like a little girl, and that is rubbing many people the wrong way.

It’s tough because the bigger issue here is the sexualization of young girls. So is this a case of harmless fashion trends or is this more of a societal issue-are we to blame for sexualizing teens? I don’t know what to say about Lily Rose. I have a 10 year old with a mind of her own, but I would never let her dress like that. I assume most schools have dress codes, so this is a summer look? Honestly, I don’t understand why anyone at any age would want their bra to show. It’s completely tacky.
I don’t see any sign of smoking on this woman. Her forehead is free of wrinkles and so is her mouth. Her skin is clear and lovely. People are crazed about smoking these days. I don’t even smoke and it still irritates me that people carp so much about it these days. My favorite ball cap says:

When my daughter was 13 the girls dressed like this all the time. I refused to buy her this kind of skimpy clothing so she would leave the house in what I provided and change into her best friends clothes. Imagine her surprise when I ran into her re-dressed self and her gang at the pizza parlor one afternoon. I drug her out by her ear and read her the riot act. That lasted about six months and then I caught her again, this time wearing skimpy clothes AND make-up that I didn’t buy….

It totally is the style for teens to wear such teeny shorts. I have a 13 year old daughter, and it’s often a struggle to buy clothes for her that we (Dad & I) find appropriate. We have a rule with shorts, no butt cheeks on display. But she certainly tries to push the boundaries. It doesn’t help that she has skin sensory issues (to do with her Aspergers) and can’t stand the feeling of seams on her legs, but sometimes I think she tries to pull that gem out to try to get away with short shorts, and I’m not caving on that one. Oh I also just had to explain to her why a leopard print push up bra is unacceptable attire for a 13 year old!! “But all my friends have one”, yeah, well that’s their parents problem. Her dad would expire if I let her strutt about with that one on display!!

Perhaps it’s in the eye of the beholder but the only thing that is coming up for me regarding the (red) bra showing or the cut-offs, is what I saw in Target over the weekend. In the girls’ dept. they are selling what look to be bras for age 6 and up… Slightly padded, even. TINY. WTH? Maybe it’s just that these almost “pre-school aged” bras seemed to so prominently be on display. (I can remember wanting a ‘training bra’ in 5th or 6th grade but I certainly did not need it.)
Lily-Rose is (without a doubt) another little girl who wants to look older so I hope she doesn’t take up smoking now…
About Lily Rose: I live in France, and wearing too much short jeans is the thing for teenagers here, even if I don’t like it I wouldn’t make it a big deal.

Bah, I used to dress like that. Throw on a skimpy tank top and short shorts over my bathing suit to go to the store. All the pearl-clutching is kinda over the top. Old people will always pearl-clutch, whatever teenagers wear, when it’s really none of our business. What color bra she likes is really none of our business. Is there a certain age cut-off as to when you’re allowed to buy a bra you think is pretty?
Vanessa does look like she’s gained a little weight — she looks a lot healthier.
I did, too (dressed like that at age 13). Yeeeeah, pearl clutching, (lol) that’s what it’s called.
The place I’m coming from is that of having been young, remembering what that was like and then later as a mother, knowing how quickly our children grow up *sigh*.

Their daughter – wowza, pretty girl but oh no, no, no, those clothes have got to go! My daughter is almost 12 and no way would I allow her to dress like that. Luckily, she’s pretty conservative and modest with her clothing choices and wouldn’t anyway. I can’t believe how short Lily Rose’s shorts are.

About Lily…she’s the splitting image of her mother at that age! (Vanessa dressed in the same way as her) and I’ve seen pictures of Vanessa and Lily (dressed like that) together, so obviously she has her mother approval (or tired of fighting with her?)
About Dear Daddy, even if is obvious that the children are with him in US now, I don’t think he has much to do with Lily’s fashion…Johnny isn’t authority on dressing well anyway…but I’ve noticed that when Lily is with him (some football game, concerts that she was pictured with him and MTV Awards) she is dressed more “conservative”
She is a beautiful young lady anyway!!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen any of the Depp-Paradis kids. and I dont like what Im seeing.
I would not have gone out of the house dressed liked that when I was a. 18 b. in my 20s c. in my 30s…shit a hooker in NYC would be like “girl you gotta leave some to the imagination.”
In Canada, in the 70s, I was 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. We ALL wore homemade cut off shorts, rolled up or cut ragged. The length depended how accurate you were. We all wore tank tops or halter tops tied around our midriff and sandals. We had long hair straight or in pony tails or braids. In short, we all looked like this child pictured above. Our parents never argued with us about the clothes. I don’t even think they noticed. 11-14 year olds were still considered children then. No one accused of us of looking inappropriate. (And I grew up in home wear I had to wear white gloves to public functions until I was 12.) America, it is beyond sad that you see this picture and think of a sex worker. Sad. Sad.
No kidding. All the “*gasp* if she wears that people will think she’s skanky” concern trolling is ludicrous, and it’s slut-shaming. She’s a kid. Forcing her to “cover up” is only going to make her think she should be ashamed of her body.

Indeed she looks great simple and beautiful also looks like she gained a little weight I hope she keeps gaining more weight and go back to the body she had in 2010 2011, google her video at lulu gainsbourg concert last year (before she lost all that weight) and she looked jawdropping with a tight dress and all that meat on her body blonde hair and red lips or see her videos of her acoustic tour 2010 2011, she is looking good very good, her daugther is gorgeous, sadly she looks like papa on his 21 jump street days but she has her mother’s body I think lily is trying to emulate Vanessa’s lolita day in the mid of the 80’s

As for her daughter’s dressing style, I would not make a fuss about it. All teenagers are dressing like that. I don’t like it, but if you make a big deal of it, the worse is their reaction.
I have a son, not a daughter but I’m very protective. I’m positive if I had a girl I would not let her out of the house in this outfit. Lily-Rose is such a beautiful girl and there are just too many weirdos out there. I’m not saying she should run around in a sack but definitely dress more modestly. My young nieces dress modestly but still look really cute. I do understand that it’s difficult with a teen and to each their own for parenting styles.

I think part of the problem is that Lily Rose may be 13 but she looks about age 8…that makes the outfit seem more outrageous…

I wish only the best for Vanessa. Like her a lot…surprised to see a pic of her daughter at age 13 ! Maybe in Europe her appearance is not looked upon as too much skin, but it is a little on the skeezy side. Because she barely has breasts and is still growing, maybe she can get away with still looking like a little girl, but not for long…once her figure develops, this look won’t work.

I am French and NO this is NOT French style or considered a normal outfit for teenagers in France, and NO we are not different regarding relationships, we do not tolerate cheating, nor open mariages or whatever other crazy fantasies attached to the word “French”!

I am French and no her outfit is not more “culturally accepted” overhere. It’s a shocking, vulgar and very inappropriate outfit for any age overhere as in general French women or girls do not wear really really short bottoms.

At least Lilly rose does not have a tramp stamp tattoo on her back or awful piercings. Some of my daughters friends had already done some of that by 13 and 14. Wow that is were I said no, here in Texas it hits 102 if I was skinny enough to get away with wearing as little clothing in 102 heat I would do it.It does’nt matter what a young girl wears men are just perverts.
