These are some photos of the female stars of Butter, at the screening of the film in New York City last night. I just asked CB if it felt like Jennifer Garner had been promoting Butter for the past two years, because that’s the way it feels to me. We’ve seriously been covering photos and interviews in promotion for this film for a LONG time. The film finally gets a limited release next Friday.
Anyway, onto the fashion! Jennifer Garner wore Gucci… which is fascinating to me because Blake Lively currently has a Gucci contract. Cough. At first glance, the dress reminded me of that famous red Prada that Jennifer Aniston wore to the Emmys more than a decade ago, but really, this dress isn’t anything like it (except for being a shade of red, and strapless). While I like that Jennifer Garner went with a bold color, I think she would look better in a blue-red rather than this orange-red. She also needed to steam the dress. Oh, and she looks so much cuter when she does not flat-iron her hair and part it down the middle – this hairstyle isn’t flattering her face at all. Something nice: her body looks great! I love her arms.
Olivia Wilde wore Alexander McQueen – I really like this. It suits her, it flatters her, and I think Olivia has been looking really, really great lately. Maybe it’s because she’s in love with Jason Sudeikis and everything has come together? Or maybe she just found a great stylist.
Ashley Greene wore Donna Karan – she’s the face of the label, and she’s been wearing a lot of Donna Karan over the past year, to mixed results. I kind of like this on her too, even though it’s bridesmaid-y and it sort of washes her out. And it’s kind of matronly for someone so young, but I still kind of like it. I could actually imagine Jennifer Garner in this. And say what you will about Ashley’s nose (is it a nose job? I’m not so sure), but Ashley has GREAT hair. Her hair is super-pretty.

I swear The only reason why certain starlets are famous is bc they have nice hair. There are too many starlets who have managed to stay in the media’s focus bc they have a good blow out. :/

Ashley is too young for that dress, but I really like the shoes. And Olivia doesn’t always get it quite right but here she looks mesmerizing!
Yea it’s very mother of the bride! Jen’s dress is meh and it needs to be ironed. Her body does look great though. Olivia looks the best. It fits her perfectly and I love the length.

Those are def. extensions and it puzzles me that still people don’t spot them from a mile away. Trust me – in Hollywood most starlets have them. And these are so obvious. They look good though – compared to some out there.
Jennifer should never straighten her hair.
Bone straight hair does nothing for her…it just emphasizes her strong jaw and makes her look masculine faced.
She needs more volume and more waves.

Agreed. I also think that very few people can pull off a center part. If she had parted it to the side it wouldn’t have accentuated her long face. I think she’s beautiful but we all have to work with our flaws.
I didn’t even recognize Jennifer Garner because of her hair. I don’t think it suits her — too drastic a change. I love her arms too but I thought her arms dwarfed her dress. Maybe a one shoulder grecian something would have been better.
I agree. I heart her but she’s just too muscular for that particular cut of dress. Show off the guns in something more flattering!
Suck it to all those who say no white after Labor day; Olivia looks amazing. Ashley looks 40 in that dress. Lastly was Jennifer’s stylist or assistant mad at her because they totally forgot to iron the bottom of her curtain, I mean dress.
Yeah, Oliva looks great. The dress is great on her…but it’s her gold stilettos I want!!
That “no white” rule is so old. Olivia is actually very on trend here. White is gonna be huge this year.

Olivia looks amazing. And she is almost brunette again. She works like crazy, when you add up projects from last year and this year, she has worked on ten projects. I admire her a lot.

You are not crazy, the movie was at the Toronto film festival a year ago. The reviews were not great so I doubt there was a rush to release. That probably explains the delay.
Ashley has a very young persons hair and an old persons dress. It’s Kate Middleton style jarring.
She’s extremely pretty, though. Olivia Wilde is gorgeous, a world-class beauty.
I am a Jen Garner fan but that hair is too flat and too center parted to do her any favors. Waves are your friend, Jen!! Let it all curl.
Garner’s bone structure is just too severe to pull off that hair…but she looks great otherwise!
That red dress is awful. How could she have picked that? It needs to be taken in to show off her figure. It looks like it doesn’t fit.

Over 40 something year old women need to learn that flat ironing your hair really flat and sleek on a maturing face isn’t the most flattering look. A little more body in the hair gives the face a softer look and especially for her with such a high forehead. There’s the exception, but the majority not.
Don’t care for Jen’s hair, but the dress is fine. Like Olivia’s look.

Garner looks like a man in drag, but its not the dress, its her facial features and her masculine body (those shoulders could be very useful in a farm).

Olivia looks the best, classy, great dress and hair. Garner should leave the flat ironed hair to 20 year olds it’s not a good look for a 40 year old. Jennifer’s strapless dress makes her shoulders look huge, she should have worn Ashley’s dress.
Normally, I think Jen rocks the red carpet but this dress emphasizes her line backer shoulders (I have them too, I could be projecting) and the make up is not as pretty as her person usually does. I’m worried she is trying a new stylist. Not a good ideas.
Ashley always looks funny to me. She has a pretty face but she appears almost microcephalic.

Is Jen the executive producer of this movie. I saw this movie last week at Boston film festival. It’s cute, it managed to get some good laughs from the audience. But it’s just that, cute, not great.
The first thing I thought when I saw that pic of JG is “why oh why did she flat iron her hair” OW’s dress is pretty, but not loving the hair or make-up…I want to slap the smug of AG’s face everytime I see a pic of her…she is def not as pretty as she thinks she is!!!
Am I the only one who dislikes this dress purely because it’s boring as hell? o.O She’s beautiful of course, but dress is just..there. Nothing to catch the eye other than the color, which I don’t think suits her.
I must be in the minority because something about Jennifer Garner just is a turnoff. I saw a clip of her on Conan were she corrected his grammar. The show brought out a dictionary to look up the verb tense and Conan was correct. She looked like a petty fool, and an ignorant one at that.. Um, the guy graduated from Harvard. I don’t even know if she finished all her high school or went to college. Also the way she treated Gary Busey was so rude, like he was beneath her. yeah, Gary Busey is weird, but was arguably in better movies in his heyday than Garner.
Still love Olivia Wilde though. She’s so beautiful it’s ridiculous.
