Liam Neeson hangs out with Coco Austin, drops trou for cancer research

First of all, this photo ^^ is maybe one of the best things ever, right? Liam Neeson and Ice-T’s wife Coco, hanging out at a Jets/Dolphins game in Miami over the weekend. Coco tweeted the photo. I actually wonder if Liam knew exactly who Coco was. Perhaps he was surprised to find himself, like me and many others, chancing upon an E! marathon of Ice Loves Coco and thinking, “Wow, they actually have a really strong marriage, and they’re incredibly sweet together.” I would like to imagine that Liam asked about Spartacus the bulldog.

Second thing – Liam Neeson appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show… yesterday? Or maybe it’s happening today. Liam was challenged to do a silly stunt to raise money for breast cancer research, and he was game. Really, really game. He wore a pink robe, which he took off to reveal a hot pink speedo (which he then threatened to take off!) – and then he got in some kind of water tank and he got wet for charity. Amazing. Here’s the video:

Oh, and Liam is going to be on Inside the Actor’s Studio tonight! I can’t believe he’s never appeared on the show before. James Lipton is going to be extra-sycophantic for Liam.

Basically, it feels like Liam is doing an “I’m awesome” tour, right? Which will make many of us forget about the reports that he keeps girlfriends in every city.

This is what Jeremy Renner will be like when he’s older, down to the same facial features. He’ll just be shorter.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

I love Renner but he already has as many wrinkles now as Liam does. I do not see my little pocket rocket aging well 🙁

OT but I was watching The Great Gatsby last night for the 1,000,000th time and Brad Pitt really is morphing into Robert Redford. The resemblance is uncanny…

  2. Koko says:

    Liam and Coco, so random!

  3. Charlotte says:

    He is dreamy

  4. Christina says:

Now, I’m not saying it’s not a very good cause, but does anyone else question the media obsession with breast cancer? There are so many other types of cancer out there which are very common, and don’t get a fraction of the attention and fund-raising. Why is that?

    • marie says:

are you talking about in general or the month of October? Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month-so that’s probably why it was a stunt for breast cancer and not something else.

      • Christina says:

I’m talking in general. Do we have ‘awareness months’ for any other major illness?

To repeat: It’s great that people like Liam are helping to fundraise for breast Cancer. It’s just that breast cancer seems to get an awful lot of media attention compared to other common diseases. I do wonder why.

      • Bopa says:

I was going to sit here and type every cancer with every month that it’s in awareness but I don’t have the time or patience to do it. Google “Cancer Awareness Months” and then click on the choose hope website and there is a list of them all…and by all most of them are represented.

    • booboocita says:

The media obsession is due to the efforts of the Susan G Komen Foundation, that tirelessly self-promoting organization. I do give it credit for bringing attention to the disease, even if precious little of its funds went to actually supporting those with breast cancer or efforts to prevent it. I kinda wish heart disease got this kind of attention.

      • Karen says:

I heard the Susan G. Komen Foundation cut funding to Planned Parenthood. That’s not going to go over well with a lot of women.

      • marie says:

you’re right booboocita, other than seeing a couple of commercials in February there’s not much promotion..

    • Dusty says:

Christina, I agree with you! PLus there is no way to track donations for everything that “goes pink” for merchandising purposes. Where is the money really going? Plus few people realize lung cancer is more fatal to women than breast cancer. See CDC report below:

The leading causes of cancer death among women are:

Lung cancer (39.0): First among white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women and second among Hispanic women.

Breast cancer (22.5): First among Hispanic women and second among white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women.

Colorectal cancer (13.8): Third among women of all races and Hispanic origin populations.

      • Christina says:

Exactly! There are so many other life-threatening illnesses out there. Why the obsession with just this one?

Plus, what exactly is meant by this ‘awareness’ thing? Is there a woman over the age of 20 who doesn’t know that she needs to visit a doctor if she finds a lump in her breast? I mean, with lung cancer, there’s an obvious contributory factor (smoking) which we can all choose to avoid, but reserachers disagree strongly about what contributes to breast cancer. So in what way does all this ‘awareness’ really help women, in practical terms?

      • Jayna says:

But 90 percent of lung cancers are smoking-related. Ten percent is unexplained and that ten percent is usually women. Maybe environmental, etc. My mother was in the ten percent, sadly. Awful disease, awful disease and aggressive. There is a cure for this disease. Don’t smoke.

I hate how I see how smoking is back in vogue again. It is so hard to quit once you start. Look at Christy Turlington, emphysema at the age of 30. My aunt, on oxygen for years because of smoking and then lung cancer.

      • Wens says:

Christina, maybe you should check your facts – lung cancer is not necessarily and only caused by smoking, my mother in law was diagnosed 2 years ago and she’s never smoked…..

      • Christina says:

What facts do I need to check, Wens?

I never said lung cancer was ‘neccessarily and only caused by smoking’. What I said was that smoking is ‘an obvious contributory factor’ to the disease. Which it is. Not all victims of lung cancer are smokers, and not all smokers develop lung cancer. But it’s been known for decades that it’s a major contributing factor, and one which can easily be avoided.

      • blonde on the dock says:

Radon poisoning is a contributing factor for lung cancer in women who have never smoked. Get your basement checked.

  5. Cam S says:

Ive had a crush on that tall drink of water ever since I saw him play a ghost in the movie “High Spirits”.

Glad his career is getting a resurgence, he has suffered greatly after his poor wife’s death. He probably can’t still handle it properly. It’s been 5 years since my Mom passed and my Stepfather still is a mess

  6. KC says:

Um… can I volunteer to be one of his girlfriends?

  7. brin says:

    Love Liam!

  8. Jayna says:

You have to give Liam credit. He’s bee cross-crossing the globe for a week promoting Taken 2. He was tired yesterday morning on Kelly. They were naming all the countries he’s been in promoting, plus here. Yet, he did that for cancer and was a good sport. Seeing those huge surgical scars on his stomach reminds me if how he almost died in that motorcycle accident.

Ice T lives in New York City, too. They probably have run into each other over the years.

  9. mar says:

    Liam is adorable.. that’s all.

  10. Madpoe says:

Oh I was not prepared for that Ellen video this a.m.! My face is as pink as his speedos and I’m giggling like a school girl at my desk! *wipes eyes*

Coco kinda reminds me of a ball or something the way she fills our her outfit.

  11. Liberty says:

Did anyone hear his interview on the Jim Rome radio show a week ago? My husband and I were driving back home from a week-long road trip and he had it on. And oh that sexy gravelly voice and laugh. Oh my. Liam. Come to my city. I will be your bimbo.

  12. dooliloo says:

Anyone knows the YouTube show How It Should Have Ended and its catch phrase “Because I’m Batman!” ?
Well from now on I’ve changed the lines and to *anyone* who dares saying ewww to this I’d answer “Because he’s Liam F***ing Neeson!” awesome guy!
And I’d be his baby gf anytime anywhere, he exudes that dark yet calm side à la Ras Al Ghul charisma *swoon*

  13. TheOriginalKitten says:

Ellen was on at the gym and I caught that segment-Liam was such a good sport and he looked SO handsome. I think he has one of the most beautiful, mesmerizing faces I’ve ever seen, plus there is something so gentle and sweet about him. That being said, I would still do naughty, naughty things to him 😀

  14. Jayna says:

If you’ve never seen his skit on the Ricky Gervais show, you have to YouTube it. It is flat-out hysterical.

    • Jen34 says:

      ‘I have Aids.’

It is the funniest skit ever. There is also a segment which shows them trying to film, and nobody can keep a straight face.

  15. jamminatorr says:

Not to be overly correct-y, but they were at the Jets and San Francisco 49ers game in NY this Sunday. Jets got shut out LOL. The Dolphins were in AZ.

    • jamminatorr says:

E Online doesn’t do their research. Plus Coco lives in NY and would probably have season tickets. Neeson is in NY doing promo filming. The game was big news because the Jets lost terribly at home.

  16. Cait says:

Liam is so handsome. And that voice!! Love him.

    • the original bellaluna says:

THIS^^ And he IS awesome! And yummy. And I’m thinking about all the naughty, naughty things I’d love to do to him – and have him do to me! 😀

  17. effy says:

I will still find him hot at age 100!
    oh Liam!

  18. mommak918 says:

I saw him on Ellen yesterday…and he was such a great sport. I blushed the entire time….Yea, he is so sexy and sweet. loveeeeeeee Liam. He deserves all the media and attention. wish He had an audio book…I would listen to it every night before bed. ahhhh

  19. Ellie66 says:

I’m available to girlfriend in NM. Lol! ( but no really). 🙂

  20. Jayna says:

For anyone who has never seen this skit with Liam and Ricky Gervais, you have to watch it. It’s become a cult favorite of Ricky’s skits on the internet.

  21. cubfan34 says:

Liam has had emergency survey twice for diverticulitis, once while filming High Spirits and in Italy while promoting Michael Collins. I think the scar is from that.

  22. blonde on the dock says:

He’s a good sport. But he didnt look so hot wearing those pink trunks. Buddy needs to hit the gym and lose some weight.

  23. d says:

Yeah, a friend of mine worked in one of those cancer charity organizations and quit after a few months because she was appalled at the way money was used, or, in her mind, mis-used. The money indeed went to high admin costs, and a much smaller proportion went to scientific research, which in itself costs a lot of money (researchers, medical supplies, equipment, testing over and over, and on and on). Research is really expensive.

  24. Diana says:

OMG I love him! he is awsome and kicks ass and has like the sexiest voice in the world.

  25. Lisa says:

I’d LOVE to be his girlfriend in the city….he’s SMOKIN HOT!!!

  26. Aqua says:

To me he’s the total package.

  27. Ginger says:

I will volunteer to be the Vegas girlfriend! That was an awesome segment…that woman was hilarious! I probably would have acted the exact same way.”You smell good” yah, that definitely would have been me.

  28. bigt says:

OK. His face looks great. He is tall, still has hair and a cool accent. But although he is tall his body looks very soft and mushy and in need of some exercise there in the chair…and yes I know he is 60. Amazing his face looks that good especially since he is supposed to love his alcohol.
