Christie Brinkley is “a cover girl for plastic surgery”

If you could get work done to your face, like whatever it entails, and you would look as good as Christie Brinkley at 58 would you do it? I totally would! I’m not saying that we would be as stunning as Christie Brinkley, (well some of you would, but not me) because we’re working with what we have, but if I could get someone to make me look like a fresh, slightly older version of how I looked when I was about 30 I would. (I turn 40 in a few months.) I’m not going to front like I’m above it or haven’t thought about it. It’s the bad work, the puffy lips, the too-thin noses, and the women who can barely move their faces who have me staying away from plastic surgery – for now. That’s your face and if you screw it up you’re f*ked! But Christie did it the right way, and she has much better luck at picking surgeons that she does husbands. The shrewd doctor that Radar has on speed dial is praising her plastic surgeon for his fine work. Here’s more:

Speaking exclusively to RadarOnline.com, Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated the star, lifted the lid on the extensive surgery he believes Brinkley has had.

“It appears that Christie is a cover girl for plastic surgery!” said Youn, a board certified plastic surgeon and member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

“She still looks almost as young as she did in the 80s.

“Her skin is flawless, possibly due to a combination of laser treatments and chemical peels. Her forehead is impossibly smooth. Impossible without maybe a little Botox? I also suspect that her upper eyelids have been lifted surgically.

“Overall she still looks like a young Uptown Girl!”

The timeless model has never addressed reports of plastic surgery but puts her sensational figure and eternal youth down to a vegetarian diet and working out.

[From Radar]

Ok, so she’s had laser and chemical skin treatments, a little botox, and a little upper eye lift. I would also guess she also had surgery or lipo on her neck to make it look tight in that area. (Taking notes.) As you can tell, I’m firmly in the “whatever you need” camp when it comes to surgery, but I do think you should get it done as subtly as possible. All that said, I’m reminded of when I saw Christie on The Today Show bitching and fake-crying about her ex. Her face looked faker in motion than it does in photos, so there’s always a risk involved.

There was a crazy story about Christie last week. You know how she still has it out for her ex husband and has been bad mouthing him to the press? (He cheated on her with an 18 year-old girl for God’s sake, but Christie isn’t exactly playing happy co-parent with him to say the least.) Well her ex husband, Peter Cook, has a new wife, who gave a long statement to The NY Post about how Christie has allegedly been tormenting them. Peter’s new wife, Suzanne, went to Indonesia for a while (Probably after she read Eat, Pray, Love) and she blames it all on Christie, as if Christie drove her into hiding. She told The Post “There has been a lot of gossip circling around the reasons I have left the country for such an extended period. Mainly that I found evidence of infidelity, and I am filing for divorce. [The truth is] The black cloud of Christie Brinkley’s hate has hung over our lives for the five years I have been with Peter, and has taken an unhappy toll on me and my daughter’s life — on all our lives. I needed a break.” Suzanne went on to add that “To this day she has not stopped with her Peter Cook obsession.” This woman sounds like as much of a drama queen as Christie, but I don’t doubt that Christie tries to make her life hell. She seems like she’s sickly sweet on the outside but you better not cross her.

Christie is shown at an event for Smile Train on 10-5-12 and events on 8-24-12 and 6-17-12. Credit: WENN.com and Fame. Photo directly above is an older modeling photo of Christie

    girl looks amazing……

    • Mimi says:

She looks amazing! But we must remember that it’s not only some nip/tuck here and there. It’s hard work – gym, diet, take care of yourself. However the results are great!

      • Mari says:

+1^^ Surgery can only do so much, the rest truly is diet, exercize, and SLEEP.

      • leuce7 says:

It’s definitely the combination–but if my genes were that amazing to start with, and I had the money to pay people to get me off my behind and teach/help me to take care of myself to that extent, I’d completely invest in looking amazing. She was (is?) a model, after all, and she can afford it. She looks unbelievably good, and it doesn’t look fake either. Bravo.

Meanwhile, the rest of us mere mortals will continue to try to stick the gym into wherever it fits in our busy schedules and avoid going into the McDonald’s/Dunkin’ Donuts/Starbucks we pass every damn day on the way to work/school/whatever we do daily.

      • carrie says:

        +2

      • Bodhi says:

All of the dittos to leuce7

    • Lia says:

She is amaizing! One of her beauty secrets is to use a scrub on face and body every day.
I would not be surprise if she uses the Nosesecret nose reshaper to lift the nose and minimize the wrinkles on the upper lip.

  2. Eve says:

Some people should NEVER try plastic surgery. Some are lucky/genetically blessed enough to have results like Brinkley’s.

    She looks AMAZING!

    • F5 says:

..some people just have bad luck with surgeons. Well, not Christie ^^ She looks friggin amazing.

  3. Jackie O says:

she always seems to be advertising for husband number 5.

    surgery is good, though.

    • Nikki says:

She can advertise all she wants, but I doubt she’ll get any takers, unless they have no money. She has managed to destroy all of her exes, except the first one, in the press. If Cook was so horrible (aside from the cheating), why did she let him adopt her son Jack?

      • jaye says:

I’m sure her vilification of him was spurred on by his affair and his actions afterwards.

  4. Cat says:

    the hands, though

  5. Relli says:

Wow check out that old bikini picture, thats the body of a healthy woman with real breasts and she looks amazing!

    • Brown says:

The tabloids today would rip a girl apart for looking like that. Sad sad sad for everyone.

She looks amazing today, too. She looks better than me and I’m 23. Going to go drown my sorrows in coffee now…

    • lizzi says:

I was just thinking the same thing!! Girlfriend had some meat on those thighs and hips and it looked fantastic. 😀

  6. KellyinSeattle says:

in the third pic, she looks just like Kelly Ripa, but older. Overall, she looks great. She’s done a good job of keeping her kid/kids – out of the spotlight. And she hasn’t really been a famehore herself; I kind of like her.

    • taxi says:

      mmm, like Alexa Joel?

      • Ed45 says:

@Kellyinseattle: Didn’t Alexa try and off herself a couple of times?
And, no disrespect to you, but going on the Today Show and trashing your exes every chance you get is being a MAJOR fame whore! She does look great, though!

  7. emmieapricot says:

She does look amazing and is without a doubt genetically blessed but it would be my bet that she’s had more work than the article mentions!

  8. Aubra says:

Bish sold her soul, cuz plastic surgery leaves alot of people looking unlike themselves! If anything, she did very little and did it gradually…

  9. Cam S says:

Well then, at least it’s plastic surgery DONE RIGHT. Woman is still a solid “10”

  10. Chicagogurl17 says:

ugh. i wish i looked half as good as here and i’m 20 yrs younger.

  11. ladybert62 says:

Sounds like she is obsessed with her ex husband – she should see some therapist and get this out of her life or it will ruin her and her kid’s lives

She looks good but then she has had all kinds of assistance (plastic surgery etc)

  12. Blue says:

Her hands give her away. I think all 3 of them thrive on the drama. He and his new wife seem to love giving interviews and keeping this going as much as she does.

  13. TheOriginalKitten says:

Funny seeing the bikini pic of Brinkley after reading the JLaw post. I bet her body is about the same size, JLAw might even be smaller. Brinkley was a model, but commenters on the Jlaw post are saying Lawrence is “too big” to fit into the contents of Vogue closets.

    • Brown says:

@OKitt, I always love the logic and reason you bring to the conversation. You are so right about this pic vs. the JLaw thread. Above I made the statement that if Brinkley’s bikini pic appeared in tabloids today, the mags would rip her apart (as would commenters and readers, etc.) It is SO interesting that on this thread we have commenters talking about how refreshing it is to see a real woman, real beauty, etc etc… on the JLaw thread, talking about how she is a “big girl.” People pining for the days when Brinkley was the picture of beauty, but perpetuating the size 0 culture of Hollywood today (not bashing naturally thin girls, just commenting on those who starve themselves to look like skeletons.)

Either way, she’s gorgeous and I’d kill for her body (and JLaw’s)!

  14. Kaye says:

Seems like I recall some pictures of her a few years ago that showed some bad plastic surgery. I remember thinking it was a shame she had ruined that pretty face. Either I dreamed this, or she got it fixed.

    • stinky says:

      cosign – for real

    • Charlotte says:

That’s what I was thinking; a few years ago she and her daughter had that mother/daughter surgery and they both looked mangled. Her face is certainly better now, but it looks ‘done’ to me still, and I just find that off-putting.

  15. Dee Cee says:

Pretty is as pretty does.. Mean, spiteful, heartless old gal

  16. RN says:

Don’t forget implants. She’s had more work done than listed in this article. To my eye, I don’t like it. She looks overfilled and squinty-eyed.

Christy always had a reputation back in the day of playing the naive sweetheart role, while internally being quite cold, calculating and a social climber. I wouldn’t want to get on her bad side, that’s for sure.

  17. Sabrine says:

She looks so fresh and vibrant. Lovely.

  18. dorothy says:

She’s a beautiful woman. However, based on all that she’s said, etc.. regarding her ex-husband it sounds like she’s deeply flawed on the inside.

  19. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

Sad to see she went the nip and tuck route but still looks great as a fan of the supermodels of the 80s and 90s there are hundreds of sites like The Fashion spot and Bellazon that have endless pics of Christie and all the others when models were models and were all over the covers – her Cosmo and SI covers obliterate what passes for cover girls today. Such were the days; what happened Sorry i don’t want to ever see the demi lovatos and miley cyruses on anything.

  20. Cody says:

Maybe, her secret to staying young is venting, obsessing and crying about her ex. It releases all those bad toxins out.

  21. hillbillyinthecorner says:

That neck is pulled so tight everytime she smiles her toes curl upward……..
Never have liked this woman….she reminded me of oa all the cheerleaders in high school bouncing and giggling all over the place the kind you want to flatten with your math book just to shut up the cuteness that oozed out of them…. She still looks like that…LOL

  22. NotBitchy1 says:

Golly, I have never seen such nastiness or such willingness to be so mean about a human being who gives so much back and who never did anything wrong but to trust a couple of (one truly creepy)untrustworthy, total losers. Christie sure does inspire me with her kindness and beauty and I thank goodness I am not miserable like so many here evidently. Christie is just stunningly gorgeous, period!

  23. phlyfiremama says:

Ladies~seriously, if you want to drastically change your skin in a non damaging manner try IPL treatments. Intense Pulsated Light takes care of sun damage, stimulates collagen production, and helps fill wrinkles in. I have had 3 & the results were amazing!! Check groupon & other similar sites for specials. Also, Acupuncture and Chinese herbs have wonderful results too. Now if I could just kick the grey hair…

    • LH says:

I, too, have had IPL’s and while it’s great for eliminating hyperpigmentation, it doesn’t do anything for skin slacking. The only real thing that helps with that kind of aging is staying out of the sun (starting from birth really).

  24. tripmom says:

Obviously she has bad taste in guys, but I don’t really buy that if there’s nastiness between her and her ex that she’s the one who’s driving it. She’s had four marriages fall apart, not just one, and if she were such a nutbag wouldn’t ALL of her exes be bitching? I may be too young to remember if husbands 1 through 3 had these problems, but it seems like she and Billy Joel co-parent Alexa very successfully and are on amicable terms.

  25. Lisa says:

I thought it was Katie Couric. It’s the permanent Joker grin.

    • Christina says:

      Exactly!

I’m a bit surprised to see how many people here think Christie looks amazing. I think she looks terrifying. I’d put her right up there with Priscilla Presley and Nicole Kidman for ridiculously overdone plastic surgery. It’s a bit sad to see a grown woman desperately trying to be a Barbie doll.

      • Lisa says:

The first picture is okay, but too stiff. After the cut, I should be typing from under my bed. She looks like a Stepford wife!

  26. lucy2 says:

She does look amazing. Whatever she’s had done has been very good, and she hasn’t gone overboard.

I can’t feel too sorry for the new wife, even if Christie is being awful – she willingly married that guy? Did she expect a perfect, peaceful marriage?

  27. Ellie66 says:

Wow she looks great! Good for her!

  28. Lauren says:

Christie should not not get married again. Why bother? She should focus on her children`s well-being instead. She is attractive, but looks like a laboratory fembot.
Alexa Ray, her daughter has had serious emotional issues, and an overdose-that is more important than hooking another douchey husband.

  29. taxi says:

The New Christie looks great. Compared to the Christie I saw for a few days at a 1982 photoshoot at Costa Careyes, she’s altered her face enough to be nearly unrecognizable. It’s settling in better now, but when she debuted her new face a couple of years ago, we didn’t believe it was Christie until we heard the speaking voice (the nice one). Pretty end result, but very different than the original version of her face.

    • Elle Kaye says:

I agree…loved her hooded eyes. Now she is much wider-eyed, although not like she was a few years ago. And I hate when women get so much Botox that they start to get the bunny lines around their noses.

    • Lisa says:

If you google pictures of her from that time, you’ll really notice how much work she’s had done. Even when she grinned, she didn’t look like she was going through a wind tunnel.

  30. bns says:

I get a batsh*t crazy vibe from her, but at least she looks amazing!

  31. bns says:

I get a batsh*t crazy vibe from her, but at least she looks good!

  32. Co says:

I can definitely see how her vegetarian diet keep her younger. As a vegetarian since birth I’m already looking younger than my peers and I’m only in my mid twenties!

    • Brittney says:

Same here! I’m 25 and my boyfriend’s 28, but we still both get carded when we go into 18+ clubs.. while our younger friends don’t. It never really occurred to me that we’re also the only longtime vegetarians in our friend group.

Vegetarianism definitely means something different to every person, but if you cut out meat and continue to eat healthy, balanced meals every day, you’ll be ahead of the game.

  33. Jayna says:

Many men and women as they age, the sides of their mouth turn downwards and it ages them. Women like Christy with cupid bow mouths, upturned on the side, have a more youthful look.

She had a facelift right after her daughter had her nose done. It was noticeable but still done great, not too done like many, but still a little tight, a little too youthful for her age. She looked good before it and more natural, like a gorgeous woman without a facelift (but obviously had done some minor tweaking), youthful looking, but not fake youthful.

  34. Jayna says:

I remember an interview she gave years ago when she had some weight on her. She would wear sweaters tied around her hips. In the interview she carried on how comfortable she was with the weight and part of life. Cut forward a few years and she’s very thin and then she’s raving how much better she feels about herself after losing weight. LOL

  35. catt says:

Exercise and diet will NOT keep your face from sagging and aging. It may keep the quality of your skin great and you will feel really good physically but it cannot stop the aging process to the point where you don’t need surgery! It kills me when I hear people claim that is all they did to look so young. Right. If you are genetically predisposed to have say, jowls when you’re 50 they are going to form no matter what you do. Diet and exercise cannot impact aging cells to the extent where it would turn back time. However it will keep you happier and healthier.

  36. MsMileHigh says:

She is lovely and an inspiration for keeping up the maintenance to look your best. However, I personally think she looks good *despite* being a vegetarian rather than because of it. She lucked out with good genes and a good doctor.

Or there is a painting in her attic that is growing older every day.

  37. A Fan says:

Soon there will be plastic surgery for aging hands and forearms.

  38. samanthalous says:

I think she looks good, I am already eyeing what I would have done. She should get a bit of a neck job since it doesn’t match her face.

  39. RobN says:

I don’t think she can get past the fact that he fooled around with somebody not as hot as she is, it’s driven her bat shit crazy and she can’t let it go and move on to husband number 26.

    • Jayna says:

Come on. The girl was 19 and hot. Christy was like 50. A gorgeous woman or not, a pretty, smooth young fresh skinned girl of 19 with really pretty features is hot.

  40. april says:

She’s gorgeous. She has had a mid face lift. It was done when her daughter had her rhinoplasty. “New Beauty” magazine showed photos of Christy before and after and without the mid face lift Christy definitely looked in her 50s.

I like her. I just wish she and her ex would stop with the public fighting, it makes them both look stupid.

    • gg says:

You said it. I don’t get why she and LeAnn think it’s okay to trash their rivals in public.

It’s just not ever cool to utter their name, even once, let alone tweets referring to and/or goading them, especially in court(!), it will end badly every single time, and only makes the person look very immature for the whole world to see. Clue: We don’t want to see that.

  41. mercy says:

She looks absolutely amazing in photos and has obviously taken care of herself over the years, but I recently saw her in a new documentary on models and in motion she looked strange. Her mouth was moving but her face was frozen. It was a little like watching a talking mannequin.

  42. Madison says:

Great plastic surgery, filler, botox, she doesn’t look as freaky as a lot of other celebs who’ve had plastic surgery but as she gets into her 60s and 70s she will start to look like all the other celebrities who have gone too far with plastic surgery.

  43. dana says:

that new wife of Peter’s went crazy because she’s NOT Christie and never will be Christie….it kills her…I bet Peter still call her Christie.c’mon it happens…she’s (new wife) just weak, and has low self esteem. She has to know he married her so he would’nt have to compete with a beauty queen again…c’mon

  44. Camille (TheOriginal) says:

    She looks fabulous.

  45. gg says:

    Nice brawr, Christie.

    • Suz says:

I wondered why we were staring at her underwear. To take the attention off her neck, perhaps?

She looks very very good. She was incredibly gorgeous in her early days – scary gorgeous. I can’t think of model today or actress today who looks that good.

But if you told me she was batshit crazy I would not doubt you.

  46. snappyfish says:

she looks like a marionette – like her jaw and nose don’t go with her face.

  47. flower says:

The face is great but scroll down block out the face and focus on the hands, you would think its a picture of a 60plus woman, the hands are always a dead give away.

  48. Nancy Kaye says:

She had a full facelift the same time her daughter Alexa had her nose job. Same NY hospital, same day. The NY Post covered it.

    • tracking says:

Yes, I remember that. Her face looked tight as a drum and did not look good at all. Now she looks fabulous. I sympathize with her antipathy toward her ex. Although she should try to get over it for the sake of their children, what he did was really nasty and humiliating. Not easy to get over that kind of betrayal, particularly when he also gets lots of your money in the divorce.

  49. zenb!tch says:

When will the surgeons learn to do hands?

  50. Sean says:

She looks amazing..its the timing..she probably started in her 30’s she’s like that other vampire Morgan Fairchild

  51. baja says:

    …….but what about cancer?

  52. Kristen says:

I am the biggest Christie Brinkley fan and have been since I was a little girl (i’m 41 now). I encourage people to follow her on Twitter. I think she is the most caring person. She is all about her kids. She stays fit and she’s an artist – she makes lovely paintings and seashell creations and is constantly taking amazing photographs. If you follow her on Twitter, you’ll see that she shares a lot of her life on the Hamptons in a really sweet way. Peter Cook was diagnosed as a narcissist and I think he’s been playing games with her re: custody which is why she was so tearful on Today. She says her best beauty advice is to always smile. By the way, she was a fierce advocate and caretaker for her parents, who just passed away within weeks of each other. I am sure she is devastated as she was so close to them.

  53. mln89 says:

i think she looks fantastic for almost being 60. her surgery isn’t obvious and she looks a lot like she did in her heyday, not like a bloated alien (lindsay lohan)or some pinched, expressionless wax figure(nicole kidman). i know one thing, she’s always looked a damn sight better then that ugly daughter of hers, alexa.

  54. Carolyn says:

    She was stunning when young.

Remember the scene from the Griswalds Vacation movie where Brinkley is Chevy Chase’s fantasy girl? 🙂

CB nice headline…like the CoverGirl nod.

    • Deeana says:

In April I went to see “Chicago” on Broadway, specifically because Christie was in it. She looks pretty fabulous in person as well.

She is very energetic, but not an overly great dancer, compared to the others on stage with her. She was also not a particularly strong singer. I equated her talent with a talented
performer in a high school musical.

But, they did not have her in that play due to her talent. They had her in it to draw in people like me, who would go knowing it is a good basic musical and who wanted to see Christie in person.

  55. justbreezy says:

second photo… wow… am i the only one who saw ‘serial killer’/crazy eyes?

  56. crtb says:

I feel bad for her daughter Alexis( the one with Billy Joel.) Can you imagine growing up in the shadow of a beautiful mother who never ages? I think a lot of her problems have to do with trying to aspire to be as good as her parents. She will always fail.

  57. LeslieM says:

I think some people are being unduly cruel about her daughter who I think is very pretty. Christy is gorgeous and always has been. There are new treatments for hands dissolving veins and removing spots. The really work.

  58. Juicy Lucy says:

I agree that plastic surgery is fine, if done subtley. I’m 46 and plan to have liposuction on my neck and an eyelid lift next year. For me, it isn’t about vanity (I diet and exercise regularily) but rather a means to stay competitive in the job market. I’m not one to change my looks, just improve on what I have.
