Hmmm… is it just me, or does Prince Charles somehow look better as an older man? Not better as in good-looking-would-you-hit-it… but just better than his younger look?

Oh, and congrats to the Grandpa-to-be!

    • brin says:

I was just thinking that too!

    • Pseudoangie says:

I was thinking the same thing! His looks are better suited for an older man.

    • Kaiser says:

Yes, his grey and white hair really suits him, and he looks more distinguished now.

    • I don’t know when those photos were taken, but he does look happy and even relaxed in a way I’ve rarely seen.

    • Ms Kay says:

Yup. His ears and nose seem to have found a new peaceful place as in less outstanding.

      • Belle says:

        I think that is it… he has always had larger, ‘old man’ features, and they now seem more at peace(;

The silver hair looks nice on him as well. Definitely more distinguished. Good for him!

      • someone says:

I was thinking the same thing – that somehow he has grown into his ears and nose. And his white/grey hair makes him seem majestic, for lack of a better word. Definitely getting better as he ages!

      • Andie B says:

I saw him in person in 2005. His nose and ears are much less prominent than they appear in photos. He is looking better as he ages.

    • j.eyre says:

      I think so as well.

Although I kind of like the idea of putting Prince Charles on the Hit List – just imagine someone reading through that list…

    • teehee says:

I alwyas found Charles to look very ‘old’ even as a teen, so perhaps now with the hair and skin to match his features, it seems appropriate and balanced for a change.

    • LAK says:

if i was blindfolded i would hit it.

He has an incredibly sexy voice that doesn’t match his face.

If you listen with eyes closed to his voice recorded in natural mode as opposed to speech giving mode, it is quite the surprise.

  2. Chatcat says:

Here’s a scary thought ladies…what if he is somehow looking better because WE are getting older? 🙂

    • Belle says:

Ha… good (yet not very likable) point!

      • Chatcat says:

I’m not sure how it ended up down here though, I posted under you! lol Anyway, if I really wanted to be a sassy bitch I’d also add that any pictures with Camilla would make him look better, something he definately could not achieve with Diana. 😉

    • Reece says:

      😛 I’m not that old 😀

    • Rachel says:

Ha! Touche. Probably, BUT in my old lady defense, I will say that some men grow into their looks. It’s a real thing. My husband looks ridiculous in his baby pictures: like he is really ticked off to be a baby. He had insane Muppet eyebrows and a strong Roman nose: and that scowl that said: I’m not going to hug this teddy bear. But he gets better looking every year: just more like … himself. I don’t know how to describe it. With Prince Chuck, he might have finally grown into his ears.

      • Brittney says:

“like he is really ticked off to be a baby.”

HAH! What a hilarious way to describe that look. Will definitely think of it next time I see an “old man” baby.

    • Green is Good says:

Gadzooks! You may have a point.

  3. pnnylne says:

“I really don’t understand why Emma Stone insists on being a blonde.” Probably because she’s a natural blonde.

    • Chordy says:

And The Amazing Spider-Man 2 starts filming soon, and Gwen Stacy is also blonde.

      • Amelia says:

        They’re doing a sequel??
        Oh dear.

      • j.eyre says:

Amelia – wouldn’t that be a prequel to the revamped sequels taken from the second series comic books that re-imagined the original Spider Man story lines?

(ps – I have no idea if anything I said above was correct, my point is there is a lot of Spider Man out there in the universe, right?)

  4. Nanz says:

I vaguely remember a late night interview she gave a while back where she said she is a natural blonde, but that many people didn’t know that because she came on the scene as a red head in Easy A. So maybe it’s just easier to be blonde? While I don’t mind a shade of blonde, the white blonde color is not my favorite – on any one. It never looks natural. That said, this is the most natural blonde I’ve seen on Emma Stone.*

    * I rarely find fault with Emma Stone. Rarely = never

    • Happy21 says:

She was red in Superbad first.

I think girl just looks better as a redhead.

Some people just don’t suit their natural colour…Sofia Veregara as a blonde? I think not! Lucy Lawless (XENA: Warrior Princess) a blonde? I think not!

      • Brittney says:

I think for a lot of these actresses (maybe not Emma, but probably others) who discuss their “natural” colors, they’re referring to the color of their hair the last time it was completely dye-free… and for many, that might be years ago. When you’re in your teens or early twenties, your hair is still changing colors (mine was way blonder just a few years ago), so some of them might not even know what their natural color is anymore.

  5. Jenna says:

Captain Sexy’s brother got busted?!?! Yikes!

  6. Ash says:

I’m childfree. I would rather enjoy the life My husband and I chose and die a few years earlier than be a miserable mother just to get a little extra mileage in life, TYVM.

    • Brittney says:

Good for you! That study is such BS, it’s laughable. If anything, I would assume that people with children die a bit earlier, because of all the stress associated with raising a family and putting yourself (and your health) second.

    • Diana says:

Ash, I’m right there with ya 😉

    • MollyB says:

If you read the actual study, it doesn’t really match with the provocative article title. It wasn’t comparing couples with children to the happily child-free or even the general population. It was comparing couples with children to couples who very much wanted children but were unable to conceive, even after multiple fertility treatments. There are all kinds of reason for the early death rate, including depression due to infertility and whatever unknown toll those unsuccessful fertility treatments might take on the body.

      • Kate (newer one) says:

Yeah, I was going to say that. Finally, there’s also the possibility that their infertility was linked to poor health in the first place, hence the lower life expectancy.

I love being a parent, but I am so grateful I live in a time where women aren’t forced by societal pressures as they once were. My mother has friends who loathed being parents, and their relationship with their kids and overall happiness in life as older women without careers (they didn’t work after starting families, then) reflects it.

  7. someone says:

He already has 5 grandchildren although admittedly they are only stepgrandkids from Camilla’s daughter and son. I’m sure those “stepgrandkids” enjoyed hearing their Grandpa say he can’t wait to finally have grandkids. Then again, since he is only their stepgrandpa he shouldn’t be talking about them at all anyway.

    • gee says:

      There is a huge difference.

      • Rosalee says:

Actually it depends on the person’s capacity to love, we have grandchildren who are not our biological ones who are deeply loved and we adore spending time with them, their biological grandparents live across the country. We love them as our own and simply introduce them as the g-kids no explanations required. Love is love no distinctions apply.

    • Esti says:

Normally I would agree, but in this case he didn’t marry their grandmother until a few years ago so it’s not like he was raising Camilla’s kids like his own. I doubt they consider him to be their father, or that he had the same experience of becoming a grandparent with them that he will have with Will (and eventually Harry).

  8. Brittney says:

Is 64 supposed to be *old* to become a grandparent? My mom’s in her fifties, and I’m the same age she was when she had me, but I’m nowhere near ready (read: willing) to have a child yet. She’ll probably be in her sixties, too, and I don’t think any of us ever expected anything different. It’s not like William or Kate will be “old” parents, either…

    • Erinn says:

My parents won’t be grandparents until they’re at least 60. I plan on living with an empty uterus for a while longer.

    • fabgrrl says:

Yeah, 64 seems just about the right age to become a grandparent to me. That (generally) means two generations starting families at roughly 30 years old.

    • teehee says:

Same here. I am twenty-freakin-nine and it blows my mind to imagine I was already 7 years old when my mom was this age. I can’t fathom it. And I am nowhere near having a child, I am actually beginning to fear I will be “too old” by the time I am ready– meaning my kid will have a 50-something mother in their teens. it actually proves what changes are made across one generation, even while a lot is still left to desire.

      • Andie B says:

I am 40 and have a 4 year old. When I was 4 my mother was 23. The experience of having a very young mother made me want to wait until I was older. I’m happy I had my child at the age I did, and am hoping down the track I will have the privilege of being a Grandma.

    • MollyB says:

It’s a generational thing. Kate is 30 and having her first child (normal for this generation). Diana was what, 19? 20? when she had Will.

      • Belle says:

Yep… and it wasn’t terribly long ago that girls were getting married and starting families at 15.. ugh, can’t imagine that 🙁

      • KellyinSeattle says:

Let’s remember Honey Boo Boo’s mom had her a 15, too. Very royal, indeed….Charles is a pain in the ass. If I were to present him with a Christmas gift, for Charles I’d get him some personality; for Wills, a Chia Pet. For Harry, some condoms. For Kate, a healthy pregnancy.

  9. katielouisiana says:

I can never look at Prince Charles without thinking of him telling Camilla that he wanted to be her tampon so he could be inside her all of the time. They did a skit on SNL about it.

    • LAK says:

i wish people would take entire conversation into context and indeed the context it was said in, when they repeat that story.

ps: i am not saying you personally. I blame the media that used that as their headline when they reported it. And unfortunately people remember the headline rather than the details.

The transcript is sexual/pillow talk, suggestive sexual batter if you will. i am sure we have all said excruciatingly vomit inducing things to our SO’s during intimate moments. The difference is we [and CC] don’t expect our conversation to be recorded and blasted to the world and ridiculed for it.

      • Booboocita says:

If I recall correctly, the conversation went something like this: Charles said he wanted to die and be reincarnated as something inside her, and Camilla answered, “Oh, you’re going to come back as a tampon!” I always thought that associating the “tampon” comment with him instead of her was particularly unfair; it was her comment, not his.

That being said, I’m not a big fan of the royal family to begin with, but Charles in particular is just … yuck. I’m not creeped out by him, and other than his treatment of his young wife, I’ve not heard much about him that’s all that bad. But I’ve always thought he was just a cold fish — charmless, lacking in warmth, unapproachable. A pity for someone who, sooner or later, is going to be a head of state and the most visible representative of his country.

      • LAK says:

He is actually pretty charming in person. He jokes alot. Pretty easy to have a conversation with.

His perceived coldness is partly to do with how the royal family conduct themselves in public, and partly because he is always compared to Diana. She was exceptionally warm, charming and very, very touchy feely.

      • someone says:

Have you met him in person LAK? That would be an incredible experience.

    • DreamyK says:

Right? He couldn’t have said something sexy like he wished he was sliding on into her like that fancy vibrator he bought her..no..he had to go full on tampon.

I love how he phrased his response regarding becoming a grandfather, though. It actually made me like him a bit because I always thought him awful for what he did to his wife, Diana.

      • gg says:

I was told the whole tampon line is the punchline of a bawdy old joke, and so is used outside the context of the joke by people familiar with the joke. Like, he was JUST JOKING.

I can’t believe people even remember that stupid incident. I bet he never says that line anymore after getting busted using it like this.

  10. JulieM says:

Good for Charles. While a lousy husband, he has by all accounts been a good father to his sons. What’s sad is Diana will never know her grandchildren.

  11. Suze says:

I was a Diana fan in many ways but Charles has been much more relaxed, better looking and happier since his marriage to Camilla.

  12. Another K says:

Hey Chuckie, News Flash. 64 is not “old age.” I’m not that far behind you but I sure as hell don’t think of myself as “old.” But the Chuckmeister was a boring old guy by the time he was 21 so perhaps by now he does feel ancient.

  13. Fue McCormick says:

Wow … Chuck looks old enough to be his own father …

  14. DianeP says:

    Grandpa, yes. King, not yet….

  15. BLOGAHOLIC says:

Did anyone notice that Charles looks just like the queen in that first pic, same eyes, same mouth even the same expression. Put a hat on him some lipstick and it’s her majesty 😱

  16. Velouria says:

He looks thrilled in that first pic…
