We haven’t heard much from either Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham in ages, it seems. She’s been shooting that ill-fated Mad Max reboot, and he’s probably been busy filming a million Statham-y action movies. Neither one of them has had occasion to walk a red carpet in several months, so there’s not really any red-carpet evidence of them together in recent days.
Now a new story in Star would have us believe that there is trouble in mood-lip paradise. About six months ago, Star got a tip that Rosie was pressuring Jason to put a ring on it or else, and it seems that he hasn’t done that. As a result, Rosie is allegedly pissed off and has called off the relationship. Here’s the story:
Another couple bites the dust. Even though she’s one of the hottest supermodels in the world, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham have split, according to an insider, because he refused to commit. “It was almost a year ago that she gave him a marriage ultimatum,” says the source. “But she’s finally accepting that it’s not going to happen.”
The couple, who had been dating for two years, spent the summer apart. Jason, 45, was in New Orleans filming Homefront whilte Rosie, 25, was filming Mad Max: Fury Road in L.A. “I always see myself working, but being a mom will be a big part of me,” Rosie, an English native, recently said. And now that she’s thrown him off, it’s taking all her willpower to not give in to his attempts to get her back.
“She’s heartbroken and has been sitting on the couch with her dog, watching movies,” says the source. “Jason keeps calling, and she wants to pick up the phone so badly — but she’s trying to white-knuckle through. The nights are the hardest, so she usually just turns her phone off.”

Yuck. No good will ever come from pressuring someone else to get married unless one wants to virtually guarantee a few years of resentment before landing in divorce court. If this story is true, Rosie would be better off moving on and finding someone else who isn’t so commitment shy. Is she still a Victoria’s Secret model? Then Leonardo DiCaprio might be a decent (albeit not long-term) jumpoff.
Also, someone please tell me why the Statham wasn’t hired to play Jack Reacher instead of the ridiculously inept Tom Cruise. What a cinematic crime.

Ah yes, the good old ‘anonymous source’. Am I the only one who gets fed up with all the stories about how women ALWAYS want ‘a ring’? Rosie is a hot 25 year old at the height of her fame. Statham…. well, let’s just say he’s not that great a catch. Obviously I don’t know them, but on the surface I can’t see any particular reason why Rosie would be so anxious to tie this guy down at this stage in her life. More the other way round, I should think.
I agree with this story being false and the women always wanting a ring BS but this guy is so hot, he’s a catch in my book!

There is something about him that I think is so sexy. I think he’s very successful, just not in an in your face 5 minutes of A-list fame sort of thing. In a trucking along always putting out great action movies type thing. At least he wasn’t Megan Fox’s replacement..

Hang on – I just checked Stratham out on IMDB and he’s 5’10” – so still too short but certainly better and taller than Cruise. On the Goodreads website someone suggested Dwayne Johnson – I thought that was a brilliant idea. I’m still crying myself to sleep every night thinking of Tommy playing my beloved Jack Reacher.
Statham is only 5’8 or 9. I stood right next to him (in flats) and I am 5’9. No denying he is a man’s man, though.

I can see why some find Jason to be either hot or not but Rosie is straddling same line.She is so pretty with the makeup and hair in movies and on the runway but makeup up free or even semi she looks likes the average Jane aka Mila Kunis pics walking her dog.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen any truly candid pics of Rosie. I think she knows that she has an image to keep and makes sure not to go out without a full face of make-up. I did read a feature on her in ‘The Guardian’, however, and the writer remarked that she looks much ‘wierder’ and less obviously attractive than she does in photos.
But that’s the case for many models. Their job isn’t to look good on the street, it’s to look good in photos. A colleague of mine once worked in the fashion industry in Milan. She said that of the models, about half looked stunning even with a bad hangover, and without a scrap of make-up. The other 50% looked completely plain until they’d spent an hour with the hair and make-up people, after which they underwent a transformation. Maybe Rosie is in the latter group?

Yup. He may not LOOK 20 years her senior but he IS 20 years her senior. Some couples can make big age gaps work, but as a rule, the larger the age gap, the more fragile the relationship.

20 years from now, Rosie will still look good. Jason at 65? Maybe not. Looks aren’t everything but unless he has great stunt doubles, his body may be taking beatings which will not bode well for his agility & comfort in his elder years.
