The *&@&)! shrub started it!- Hilton Head Island Man #2

Do you have a drunk story better than this?

A 23-year-old Hilton Head Island man was charged with public disorderly conduct after a deputy observed him “in a physical confrontation with shrubs” at 8:27 p.m. Saturday at Carolina First, 401 William Hilton Parkway, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Report.

Responding to a complaint that a man tried to get into a stranger’s car, a deputy called over to the suspect, who was punching vegetation. The man then ran across the bank parking lot to kick one last bush before talking to police, reports said.

He reportedly smelled of alcohol and was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where he is being held for prosecution, according to the jail’s online log.

Haha, I mean, I’ve gotten pretty drunk in my days, but I must confess, I have never started a confrontation with a shrub. And if a piece of vegetation starts a fight, it’s like, just back away slowly and keep your eyes on the ground. You don’t want it to think you’re challenging it.

What I really think is great about this article is that when this guy wakes up from his drunken stupor, there’s going to be a weird question and answer session in the jailhouse.

“So man, what are you in for?”

“I got in a fight with a shrub.”

“…a what?”

“A shrub! But don’t worry, I got the last kick in. That fool didn’t see that one coming; I showed him a thing or two!”

Actually the bush won, see?

(Thanks to www.buzznet.com for the photograph. And for the weird 23 year old man for the shits and giggles.)
