Here are some new photos of Angelina Jolie, arriving at LAX after her trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague to raise awareness of warzone rape. As you can see, Angelina travels light and she loves black, as always. I feel like we’ve probably seen this black skirt before, and she just paired it with a black blouse and blazer (which we’ve probably seen before too). I think she’s wearing lip gloss and nothing else on her face, which is pretty awesome.
For the tabloids, the one thing that came out of Angelina’s Congo trip was that she wasn’t wearing her huge diamond engagement ring given to her by Brad Pitt last year. She either left her diamonds at home or she simply decided not to wear them in a refugee camp, but she did wear a minimalist gold band on *that* finger, so the tabloids were all “OMG they got married!!! SECRET!” No. Angelina was swarmed by paparazzi as she walked through LAX and they asked her flat-out if she was wearing a wedding ring. Her response? “No.” There you have it.

You are so right, and she just arrived on a flight under any circumstances is bitterly long and hard. In the pics from the Congo she looks amazing and healthy. For years now she has lead by example with her charity, causes, and family life regardless of some decisions made in an earlier, younger time. That’s a fact.

Darling you know it’s not truth. In last few years her weight only goes down. And please don’t use her charity work as an excuse – she can’t eat because there is some many hungry people in the world. It’s just ridiculous.
I can imagine that it would be hard to eat much when you’re on these kind of trips. The abuse and sadness that she sees cannot be great for the appetite. In general, though, I think almost all of the celebs could benefit from a few extra pounds, including her.
I was reading comments from another site dated in 2005. The same comments, she’s so skinny, scary skinny. It’s so old, it’s pathetic now . Yes she’s skinny she’s been skinny all her life. Can u come up with something new? I watched that same video but in that video you couldn’t tell whether Angie was responding to the pap or her bodyguard. If she was responding to the pap, he asked if that was a wedding band, not if she and Brad were married already. Correct me if I’m wrong neither Angie/brad or their reps responded to whether they got married during the Christmas holidays in Turks and Caicos. I still believe they are already married and it will come out during Brad’s promotion for WWZ.
i am so tired of people always calling out women in hollywood’s weight! this obsession with whether she is crazy thin or not is beside the point! trust me, i am not the biggest fan of angelina but i think there is more to discuss about her than her weight. i had an eating disorder myself when i was younger, and although i have happily since recovered i still observe many of my friends have skewed perceptions of their own weight, even if they do not have a full blown eating disorder. yes she looks rather thin, but since none of us know her personally there is no telling whether it is natural or not. this type of body shaming is not ok… and the running commentary on her body affects all of us much more than it affects her.
Someone said on another post about Angie that she and Rosario Dawson had the same body type and I always thought the same thing. Except one is white and the other Brown. They both have big boobs, no hips, and skinny legs. But both are sexy. I don’t know if Rosaria had a weight transition but Angie’s photos since childhood she was always a thin kid, teenager and adult. She was never a Nicole Richie. Who went from thin, chubby, anorexic looking, to thin. Angie is 5’7 and Nicole us 5’1 or 2.. I believe Rosaria is 5’8.
Scary Skinny????
I have seen scary skinny and Angelina is not even close. She is thin, but far, far from emaciated.
She has thin limbs and ALWAYS has. Always will.
Even when she was pregnant, her wrists were thin!!
However she has a very full bust and healthy hips when in tight dresses.
Not commenting on scary skinny, but she is definitely far thinner than when she was young, so I don’t believe it is that she naturally has this thin a build. I think women with this build deliberately stay very thin because they gain weight most in the midsection.
When I hit my mid 20’s I lost every trace of baby fat and grew very slim. My wrists, collar bones, etc, became much more prominent and my face took on a more angular, less rounded, appearance. People would sometimes hassle me about being too thin but I was quite healthy, not emaciated and plenty of muscle tone. And I certainly wasn’t dieting or doing anything else to make myself thin on purpose. But I was quite active both in work and personal life and I ate a bit healthier than I had in my younger years. I also cut out booze. So yeah, a person can mature into a much slimmer version of their former selves – does not mean they have an eating disorder. I’m sad to say that the slim thing didn’t stick around forever though… once I hit my 40’s the baby fat came back 😉
Jenny hit it right on the nose! i have the exactly same built “apple shape” although i gained weight now i just have skinny arms and wrists and a fat midsection. my arms/ wrists look like i’m underweight even though i’m currently OVER weight.

I think she’s looking skinnier because her face is getting skinnier. It’s a natural part of ageing- we are so used to seeing super slin women with cheek implants that we’ve forgotten how a naturally skinny slightly older woman looks. And I mean older relative to her (before anyone jumps on me)

Sorry. No matter what you can say of her, Jolie hasn’t always been this emaciated. Back in 2005, when Mr. and Mrs. Smith was filmed, she had nice arms, thighs and an ass. All you have to do is google the stills. And she looked great in photoshoots as well. Yes, she was still thin, but she looked proportionate and healthy. I guess there IS a chance that through the magic of effects, they managed to make her look normal after the shooting, but she looked fleshed out and normal to me. I don’t know why her fans are always yelling that we need to drop it, or “get a new argument”. As far as I know, her weight is certainly the most controversial thing of note in her life. It’s normal that people would comment and wonder what’s going on. It’s no mystery that I don’t think Jolie is a very great actress, but she seems like a decent mom and person. I don’t have a reason to comment on her weight other than it seriously looks like she needs help. Nothing more. And please don’t kill me, but in this particular ensemble, with all the black and the shades against the pearly white skin, she’s giving me Michael Jackson vibes here.

Not sure how you can tell she is only wearing lipgloss in the pics as her face is mostly covered by sunglasses. But she always did have amazing skin. People go on about her lips but I think her best features are her skin and her eyes. Her hair has looked better, I think she got rid of the extensions she was sporting last year.

I was going to say the same. Her skin is glowing and flawless as usual and it seems to me she’s indeed wearing makeup, you can see some blush on the fifth photo. She probably goes for a ‘no makeup makeup’ look, which, I tell you, envolves lots of makeup!
She did not always have amazing skin. Until a few years ago she had oily, acneic skin that was always covered with very good makeup. I’m a licensed esthetician and I’ve always paid attention to celebrity makeup and skin. I look for close-ups for just that reason. I remember noticing the change about 5 or 6 years back. I’m pretty sure she’s had cosmetic contouring and filling as well as laser treatments to clear her skin (IPL).
She looks really well and healthy. Shes glowing. There is nothing negative that anyone can say about her.

Actually, it’s cream that’s made with photoreflective particles. There are several companies that make it, but it’s designed to make skin look smooth, clear, and “glowing” under a camera flash. A lot of celebrities use it, even when they don’t wear other makeup. Some people don’t like the shine and think it looks like oily skin, but I can promise you it’s not. The vast majority of them would not go anywhere near cameras like that.
Angie and Jessica Alba were named the top stars that had the best skin in the age of HDTV where you can see every pore.
I love me some Brad Pitt but he and his ex (JA) were named one of the worst skinned stars. Something they really had in common.

The woman just got off of a flight from Africa … how many hours is that flight? How would ‘you’ dress? Would you cater to someone sitting at home thinking you should dress for them? Or would you dress for comfort, for yourself?
Age and 6 kids happened. They both are beautiful still and I think they look just fine.
Also, they both clean up very nicely when they want to.

If she is a media whore, at least she does it to bring attention to worthy causes. You don’t see her dashing in and out of expensive restaurants, sitting front row at fashion shows, flaunting around the beach in a bikini, and all of the other many things that celebs do for attention. She and Brad seem way low-key by comparison.
I believe the whole point of her being asked to do these missions is to bring attention to the pertinent issues. The organizations she works with are counting on the media frenzy to bring attention to their projects.
At this point, aren’t we way past the “she does this only for her image” idea? If that was the only reason she did it, she could have stopped years ago and dined out on those stories for decades. Sure, many celebrities (especially the newly minted ones and the ones who need image rehab) do it, but I think Angelina’s consistent track record has, in the long run, proven her to be different.
Uh… has it ever occurred to you that you *know* about the publicized charity work because it’s… publicized? (And for a good reason, to boot.) You have absolutely no way of knowing how much she does that isn’t publicized. It’s pretty short-sighted to infer that if she’s photographed doing a few things, those are the only things she does at all.
Oh please she is pretty much in every damn picture on her trip, snapped by her own photographer I guess, to catch her in her best angle. She loves the attention she gets from these trips.

It’s been brought up before and, while I don’t think it’s the only reason, she has a hard time eating much because of her humanitarian work. If I spent a lot of time in other countries, I know it would affect my ability to enjoy food over here. We have the need to show abundance to the point of waste and we haven’t been able to scale it back. Awards season must be dreadful.

But she does look very thin. Probably a combo of stress and running herself ragged with travel…oh, and her six kids. Wish I had half her energy.
I think it would be great if they got married without anyone knowing and she was just f-ing with the paps. However, I will say this…by wearing a ring like that, on THAT finger, she HAD to know people would speculate. She had to know that it would be a focus of tabloid stories. just another theory, it’s just another ring to replace the ‘feel’ of the ring. my sister got engaged 2 years ago, but her fiancee’s diplo. job stopped them from getting married. for a few months, she wore her bling ring non-stop but soon got a bit paranoid. she took the ring off, but found that her finger has ‘gotten used to it’, and replaced it with a discreet gold band to have the feeling of having a ring there. might not be a case with AJ tho.

I think most of the thin-shaming is from obese women who need an outlet for their jealousy and resentment. If you look at pictures from her Gia days, while having a fuller body her arms and wrists were extremely bony. Its not her fault, thats the way she was born. Picking on her for the shape of her bones makes as much sense as picking on someone for the shape of their chin or nose. Its childish and ignorant and indicative of a petty mind that has run out of negative things to say.
@venny, the thing is, it’s very difficult to discuss this subject about angelina. For me, she has always been really thing, you just have to look at her body in Original Sin or in Wanted. But, that said, just look at pics! Her wrists are frightful and her head looks huge in proportion to her body. Now, I’m not saying she is anorexic based on that because her skin looks awsome and I feel that would not be the case if she had an eating desorder, but I still find myself a bit scared about the appereance of her body.

Again, it’s really rude to assume that you know the cause, or assume you know all about a person’s body type that you’ve never met before or never seen before. Unfortunately for celebs, and I said this yesterday, you can look back at their history. You think fans are blind, but Angelina’s body hasn’t changed her face has thinned out, which happens with age, but she has always been thin. Her torso has the weight, not her limbs.
After AJ met Brad, they were together for a short time and then she became pregnant. She was very slim, but she did gain weight alright with the pregnancy. After that, when Shiloh was a baby, she was looking slim again, and then her mother died in January 2007.
It was then when AJ lost a lot of weight. It was notorious. She accompanied Brad to all his main events for one of his big movies, maybe the Jesse James movie,a nd she was beautiful, but fragile. She still was thin filming Wanted and she was still in mourning and trying to pick up her weight when she was filming Changeling and got preggers with twins.
She looked beautiful in that pregnancy, and she has not gotten as thin as she was in 2007, but her weight concentrates more In her torso, a lot more.
When she was filming Wanted she was very, very thin, too much I would say, but not anymore.
If you like to nitpick at her pics, you would hardly ever notice her chest bones. She has bony legs and arms, but someone like kate Bosworth or the country singer, (whats her name?) use dto show their ribcages under implants in a regular fashion and in teeny tiny bikinis and shorts… ugh!.
Now that is bad. AJ does not do that.
Remember the photo shoot where the horse is nuzzling her ta-tas? She looks awesome and healthy in that one. She’s a LOT lighter now, and it does look alarming.
I think a lot of the Brange fans have what I call “the emporer’s wearing new clothes syndrome”. They are so invested in the Brange brand and willfully refuse to accept any criticism. I am a big Angie fan but freely admit to being concerned about the drastic change in her physical appearance since 2005. To me, her often frail and tightly wound appearance very closely resembles that period in her life when she was doing drugs regularly. Yes, she is a mother of six, but she has help; it’s not as though she’s the sole provider and nurturer of those kids.
At the end of the day, it is her choice to look like this. Who knows what she is struggling with privately? There are two things I always think of when I see Angelina nowadays: be careful for what you wish and living a life of quiet desperation.
hahaha lulu, nice try. Since Angelina became a mother, her attention calling antics changed. She is not running around naked for the papz or in racy photoshoots no more. Some people still cry for the “old” angelina, and at the same time bash her for even the size of her hands (haters gonna hate).
@Toot: thank you for the photos. I see your point. However, I’ve seen all three of those photos. I stand by my point. I’ve said that her limbs have always been rail thin, but she’s always had muscle tone. Her calves have had more muscle tone in the past. And looking at the first photo you linked to, how can you not notice her ass and her thighs? She looks filled out. Her arms are still thin, but no so painfully thin that you can see every small bone in her wrists and hands. Now contrast the photo to the ones in this post. Even in a billowing skirt, you can see that her thighs are the same size as her calves, and her knee joint is the thickest part of her leg (!$#*%&^). I don’t know why that doesn’t seem to phase some folks. I never claimed it couldn’t have been because of stress or the death of her mom (as she claims), but she hasn’t put on weight since that time several years ago, and comparing her body now to how it looked then is night and day. Watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Seriously. And look at her body.
Why should she care what people speculate by wearing a gold band to replace her diamond engagement ring? And if she chose to NOT wear a ring then people would be questioning whether or not she & Brad broke up, right?!
Agree. I’m baffled at the “biggest mediawhore in Hollywood” and “wore the ring for attention” comments. They make zero sense. If Angelina loves attention so much why isn’t she photographed more often or go to a bunch of events? I think this is just the 4th or 5th she’s been seen this year when that’s a tally most celebrities are seen in a week. She most likely was wearing a ring just to replace her engagement ring. Not only to replace the feeling of a ring but to show she’s in a relationship. Besides the haters and tabloids would just say she and Brad broke up if she went ringless. I remember when they got engaged a lot of people said it was a sign that they were breaking up. No matter what she does, Angelina gets trashed for it. She can’t win.

Ever think AJ has a very hard time gaining weight? She has said in the past she does not like being skinny.
Even when she was pregnant her legs and arms were skinny. Even when she was a teen.
There’s a lot of thin-shaming and body-shaming comments out there but it’s not body-shaming to notice if someone has lost a lot of weight or gained it for that matter. Not all comments are “shaming” and it is silly to dismiss the discussion entirely just because some people are over invested in admiring or hating a celebrity.
I saw the wedding band conspiracy theory stories yesterday and I thought they were absurd.
However, the pictures I saw of AJ whilst still on her trip were shocking to me. She looks like she’s lost more weight. I know that Angelina has always been really skinny–particularly her limbs–and I’ve never been on the must eat sandwich train–but this was more than that. She did indeed look like a bobble head. Extraordinarily beautiful but painfully thin

Actually before Brad, she had thin arms and legs too! Her face has thinned, but her legs and arms her no smaller now.
Also before Brad she had one child, now she has 6 on top of a great career, more involved Charity work etc.
She also lost her mother and was much thinner after that then she is now. grief can cause a loss of appetite and some people are affected years after.
She seems truly happy with her life now by the way. She does what she wants to do.

Before Brad the only time she was ultra skinny was when she was living unhealthy. When she first adopted maddox she gave an interview to people magazine [it’s in their online archives] and she admits that for the first time in her life she is healthy. It showed because she was fuller everywhere. Her arms and legs were thicker and her face was beautiful. There’s actually bathing suit photos that prove she was fuller everywhere. Now I can’t imagine what she would look like in a bathing suit… Anorexic and bony.

Janet, she made up with her dad because she said it was best for the family. She said the one thing she learned from brad and her kids is that your happiness comes last to what the family needs. So yes, she is the type of woman that will stay in a relationship because it’s best for her kids.

I call B.S. on this comment. Go rent “Life, or something like It” from April 2002. You can’t tell the difference between Angie then and now, except for the Blonde hair. She had the same arms, hands, and legs ‘then’ and she does ‘now.’
Agree. I saw that movie again a few months ago and my hubby and I both talked about how her body looks the same as it does now. Haters gotta hate on something though don’t they *eye roll*.
I’m always shocked how thin and stringy her hair has gotten these last several years (when not all done up for appearances). I know my mom’s hair really thinned out after having babies and never came back as thick. I think it’s what happened to her.
She also appears to be malnourished and this has affected her hair. I wish she’d cut her hair to shoulder length. It would look so much better.
Many times the naturally thinpeople lose weight very very easily, and gain the weight back takes a lot of effort, special meals, weightlifting, etc.
A friend I have is very tall and slim, and her limbs are maybe thinner than Angelina’s .
She always wears flowy skirts because she does not like people pointing at her legs. Over the years she has had to endure rude people, strangers, acquintances, etc. Pointing at her how thin she is, if she is ill, etc. She would go for periods where she gained soem weight, and then get a cold or sickness of her stomach and the plummeted down a few kilos which are very noticeable on her. She is just like her dad who was very thin, but strong, wiry.
As for me, I see food and I gain weight. I expect her to be healthier than me as we get older.
I find these comments about AJ hypocritical, because many are pretending to be worried, but in relity, they are slamming her. It is not easy to gaing weight for some, and that is true.

I have the same body shape as well-skinny arms and wrists and skinny legs but a full midsection, including chest. I feel like many women do not have this body type though!
I think the thing is people have always assumed she is this big impressive woman. When in fact she is petite. And small boned. People talk about her in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I watched it the other night and recall the pictures of her in the white shirt sitting with him on the floor, same legs and same veins in her arms. She is so much smaller then people realize.
I think her persona is so big that people equate that with her actual self. Yes she has been thinner, and heavier. But she is always thin. Her thinnest was after her mother died. She gained weight when pregnant, but even then the woman was just all stomach and breast. I think depending on the time she fluctuates 5 or so pounds. I don’t think she is anorexic, and I don’t think she is doing drugs. I think she is just naturally thin and being so active she doesn’t hold weight as much. I would love to see her 10 pounds heavier. But I don’t think her being thin is an open hate fest. It is always the same, too skinny, veins in her arms, forehead vein. There is a check list. OH and botox, which when you see her in an interview it is obvious she has lots of movement.
I think that people that don’t like her have to find something. She is a beautiful woman. And I have never seen an account of someone seeing her in person to say she was less beautiful or stunning. But she is just that woman that other women have to hate on. Thing is she doesn’t seem to give a sh*t.. so all is super good.

Exactly, when people complain about her weight they always bring up her Tomb Raider body and sometimes her Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Tomb Raider involved strenuous weight lifting and a strict protein diet, while Mr. & Mrs. Smith was when she only had 1 kid so she still had time to exercise and what not…
She is super thin, but nowhere near anorexic. that’s the problem fans have. We’re not arguing she’s at a great weight, but she’s definitely not at a sickly or ill weight either.

I am a doctor. It’s NOT the fact that AJ is skinny; many skinny people can be and are quite healthy. But good/bad health manifests itself in a myriad of ways. One typical way of diagnosing malnutrition ‘by eye’ is via the sheen and body of hair, the sheen/color to the skin, etc. If you go back a few years, you will find AJ had body to her hair; she had color and vigor to her skin. All of that seems to have disappeared. And she is far far too young to have lost it at this age… babies or not, hectic travel schedule or not. From a medical point of view, she has the skin and the hair of a 50+ year old. And this, I am convinced, is due to malnutrition. I am alarmed on her behalf. I suspect she is not eating… as to what the cause is, I don’t know. But one thing I do wonder about is if she has a support system at all. I would say not. And btw, please let us stop calling her sexy. Pallid, waxen, brittle is just NOT a role model for “sexy”.

I hope she is healthy but I suspect she has food issues as many people do and because she is so strong and amazing people don’t want to admit that maybe she has an issue. To me her weight lose after her parent’s death was a sign that food is an issue for her. I think she has a control oriented personality and she tightly controls her food. I know a lot of women like her.
I think it’s hard to tell sometimes if a person is healthy or not based on seeing them in present time. It’s hard to know, even when the person looks very ill. You can’t know what’s going on with a person. But as I’ve said all over this board (and I don’t know why I bother. People are concrete in their thinking), it only looks crazy because we’ve seen Angelina at a healthier point in life. And like you say, I don’t believe it’s because of her age. She’s in her thirties. My mother had 5 biological children and an abundance of health concerns, and she never looked this thin (though she WAS anorexic, and admitted it) or this ghostly. It’s not hatred to use your eyes. Maybe if more of her fans would admit that she didn’t look too healthy, she’d take the steps necessary to correct it. 🙁
Her skin is radiant. She looks healthy. Only thing that I see is the enlarged bones bilaterally in wrists. My mom had R.A. which started in her wrist bones…hope not for her sake.
I really don’t get the hoopla around Brad or Angelina b/c I think they’re incredibly overrated as actors & as people I think she’s the only one with any redeeming qualities (her charity work). That said, I think she’s a somewhat naturally thin woman (you can tell by the shape of her body that she’s almost always going to have thin limbs) but I’ve always felt she’s tried to maintain this incredibly thin frame b/c it’s what Brad likes (look at the women he has dated when he dated them). Women her age look better with a few extra pounds but with 6 kids I feel like it’s gotta be hard for her to put herself first if it’s hard to gain weight.
Also, on other sites it’s really apparent she’s not wearing a bra. I just think it’s interesting that if any other celebrity did that, they would automatically be labeled an attention-seeker, but when she does it, no one mentions it.
I just love her. I think she’s the bomb and a total badass, besides having just an incredibly beautiful face. So yeah, while on the one hand I’d love to know how the HELL she gets that incredible, smooth, clear skin (occasional peels? laser treatments?), on the other, I mean, yeah, I don’t think it’s “hate-y” at all to comment on how skinny she looks and to express concern. She simply does look particularly skinny lately and her hair looks really thin and limp and, since she’s pretty much one of my heroes, besides being unbelievably beautiful, I want her to always look radiant with health. What else is weird, too, is that at least for me when I’m not eating well or am tired or stressed, it shows up immediately on my skin. The woman is just a world of paradoxes…
