Spoilers for past episodes of Walking Dead follow
The male eye candy on “Walking Dead” is dwindling now that Shane (Jon Bernthal) is long gone and the hot leader dudes, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and The Governor (David Morrissey) have gone batsh*t. We’re left with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Glenn (Steven Yeun), and some notable secondary characters, particularly Tyrese (Chad Coleman) and Martinez (Jose Pablo Cantillo). Coleman is known for his work on “The Wire”. On “Talking Dead” after last week’s finale he mentioned that he was chosen for the role of Tyrese by the comic’s creator, Robert Kirkman, who was a big fan of The Wire. So I’m looking forward to seeing more of Tyrese, and by more I mean shirtless.

In the mean time the big heartthrob is redneck scrapper Daryl, who had one of the most moving scenes in the second to last episode this season. This show often fails to flesh out their characters (har-har) but I was impressed with the direction that Daryl and particularly Micchone’s characters were taken toward the last few episodes. And holy crap, the episode when Morgan (Lennie James) returned was amazing. That guy knocked it out of the park.

I already put a spoiler warning at the top of the story, but there’s another big spoiler coming for a past episode here and you can highlight the blank space below to see it. This one is about Daryl’s story arc. When Daryl found his brother, Merle, as a zombie I started crying with him. We’ve seen that character play stoic, heroic and detached for the past three seasons, and I was surprised to see what a powerful actor Reedus is. I also loved that Merle redeemed himself at the end of his life, and that the others recognized that he sacrificed his life for them.

I guess I should discuss these photos now. I love Daryl and do find him to be hot on Walking Dead. He’s the dude I’d want by my side against the zombies and in bed, but there’s something cheap about these photos. By that I mean that Terry Richardson’s stank is all over them. If you’re just a casual gossip consumer and aren’t familiar with Richardson, you can google him. He regularly exploits and sexually harasses young female models while promoting an image as a friend to the stars.

Richardson did capture Reedus’ essence as Daryl, though. He also photographed him on both April 5th and 6th, suggesting Reedus stayed over or at least came over for two separate photo sessions. (I hope.)

Reedus has a tattoo of his own name above his nip. Who gets their own name tattooed on themselves? (Update: it’s for his late father, Norman. I should have looked that up, thanks for letting me know guys!) I’m going to lust after Tyrese now. They better teach him how to shoot and kick some zombie ass.
